Been a frequent here for over a year. Still coming back. The show is like a puzzle, a rubic's cube with many faces, I've been there more than 30 times, but yet to put together all the pieces. Needless to say, the dance alone is peerless, and watching them up close create tension you rarely experience elsewhere.

We went to Sleep No More, not really knowing what to expect. We were delighted. The sets are sumptuous, as is the lighting, the music. Being a few inches from the dancers when the performance changes is just dazzling.

We went to 3, and were separated from the start, but so much the better. We did not all witness the same scenes, or see the same places, which allowed us to discuss and better understand some pieces of history.

the hotel is huge, on several floors, we quickly tend to go up and down many times, depending on the actors we decide to follow.

Sleep no More;

Sleep no More;

This work is to integrate the public as it coexists with the artists that act!
Performed among the attendees strong drama and acting, as well as scenographies on the proscenium which one integrates to the scene in 4 levels of the building
Wearing a mask

It is different from traditional theater; to visit it is to enter the works of William Shakespeare English playwright

Magnificent experience !!!!
Book early for if you want to dine later or climb on your roof

I was somewhat disappointed after going last night and reading so many good reviews for Sleep No More and the Hotel. As described by other reviewers, the location is a multi floor building in Chelsea. The building is really interesting and has a lot of places to explore and see. Each area has its own sounds, ambiance and in some cases floor textures. My mayor disappointment is that there is not much happening in most of those rooms. The ratio of actors to floor area is not very high. Whenever you see an actor, sometimes you have no idea how his performance relates to the story. Also, once they finish they leave very quickly and most people follow them but in most occasions you lose track of them and get a feeling that you are missing something better in some other room or floor. I arrived around 7:30 and after 2 hours of wandering and seeing some scenes, got bored and tired of the whole experience. I think that a smaller venue, more actors or more frequency of the scenes would improved the experience. Also some sort of guide to where the important bits are happening would also help. Some scenes didn't feel too relevant. On the good side, it is very innovative, original and a whole new experience to see "theater".

While I must admit I have not had the pleasure of attending the McKittrick Hotel's famed theater experience, 'Sleep No More,' I HAVE had the distinct pleasure of going to the stunning rooftop bar hidden high atop the non-assuming building.

I recently came here for a birthday and was BLOWN AWAY by the gorgeous sprawling bar that sits stop the fictional hotel. Surrounded by canopies of vines and flowers, this secret garden- esque rooftop features long wooden communal tables and a menu packed to the brim with delicious and unexpected cocktail combinations, ranging from new takes on old classics, to punch bowls that well...pack a serious punch! We went on a Friday night and so it was a lively crowd, not to mention there were the few play attendees wandering around in their "masks" to up the cool factor of the place.

This is definitely a sophisticated place to go romantically or for a nice happy hour among friends. While the drinks can be pricey, the ambiance is worth the check! Worth a check out, I'm dying to see 'Sleep No More' soon so I anticipate another trip to the McKittrick soon! :)

Sleep no more is absolutely worth to take in New York. The price might be lower during weekday. I would suggest to buy the ticket for the first group of the day so that you can see all the three rounds of the show.
There are three rounds playing every night. Each rounds are the same so that you can choose different characters to watch their own story in Macbeth. At the end of the third round, they will present the ending of the story.
During the show, you need to move in the whole hotel to chase the character you are interesting in. You will be able to stand just next to the character to watch the show, sometimes they might invite you to present some episode with them.
Keep in mind to wear comfortable shoes so that you can chase the show for the whole three hours. You may also return to the bar at the entry for a rest and get some drink.

Sleep no more venue

Sleep no more venue
A free space where you really can do anything

Because the story was more complicated than I imagined, I strongly recommend you to take part after watching the original
Shakespeare's novel "Macbeth"
Film "Rebecca" directed by Alfred Hitchcock

Most of the participants were in their 20s and there were people who came to work after a while.
As for clothes, it is a fast match so it is easy to move

I also want to go when I come to NY

This is the best. Go to see it. Probably aren't going to find anything less than full price for this. I want to go back to see more of it. Even if it'll cost another couple hundred.

Sleep No More is pretty darn cool. If no one told me about it, I probably would not have known to check it out because unlike Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, there is really not a lot of advertising for this. Getting tickets online is easy. Show up half an hour before your "start" time because lines form. Bring cash so you can enjoy a drink at the bar before and after the "show". This place is unique because you are part of the show. You can interact with the actors if they allow for it, but also feel free to walk around the building set, and open drawers, follow people around. A really cool experience unlike any theater I have been to in the past.

Tips: wear flat shoes. You'll be walking around on wood, stairs, rubber garden chips, etc. Also, leave your coat and purse at home - otherwise you'll have to check them in at $4 each. No pictures allowed. Don't be surprised if they split you up from your group/date/partner. Just plan on meeting up afterward and discussing your experience in the cool lounge.

Absoluty a fantastic time, definitely need to go back again to see the rest of the show. For anyone going there a firs time, definitely brush up on your Macbeth or you'll end up a little puzzled at what your watching.

Is this Macbeth? As far as I could tell this was just a series of film noir vignettes. There was no discernible plot or narrative. No one was aloud to talk (not even the actors/dancers) so you just stumble around in the dark in a glorified haunted house for a couple of hours. Maybe I just didn't 'get it' but I've been to plenty of immersive art installations that have been far better experiences. I had to leave early through utter boredom so didn't see the rooftop bar (I wasn't even made aware there was one), then to add further insult to utter confusion they tried to sell me a $20 programme explaining what I'd just experienced. The only redeeming feature was the 'hotel' set itself, which to be fair was extremely impressive.

You can't go through NY without doing the Sleep no more Experience. You have to take out the tickets one week in advance to make them cheaper, before or after the work you have to go around the Rooftop, which is very good.

The Bar staff is the worst...lazy, un-interested and conceited....everything else was great, but ruined by the guy and two girls working on Friday 3/6/15 were awful and kinda made the whole experience not worth it....

It is really incredible. Incredibly bad. They suggest you have a few drinks before going inside. But I don't think it would be enough. You need to get high at least. 4 floors of dirty old rooms with rare crazy actors. I paid the money to get entertained, instead you need to entertain yourself. My wife and I got bored after 30 minutes of walking around. I am 30 and she's 25. NEVER EVER!

Really interesting experience.

Really interesting experience.

It's essentially a modern-day deconstruction of Macbeth.

Before I came to this show, I had NEVER read Macbeth, and only read half of the Wikipedia page (big mistake on my part). So please read up on Macbeth!

I would also, as a tip, figure out who the main characters are and FOLLOW them. Go where they go, and also just try and keep up with the storm of people who follow the actors as well.

Tip - go early and get a drink in the lobby bar. Great place!

There's an orgy scene in here that apparently is the best scene out of all of them (heard secondhand as I missed it when I went!)

The Sleep No More experience was one of a kind. Truly unlike anything I ve ever experienced before. If you are into arts and theatre I highly recommend! Not for the weak hearted however, beware!Exceptional acting and an over all amazing production, I loved how everyone was in character from the time we walked in. It is more of an individual experience as well.

You absolutely must go see this band Shirley House! We saw them at a bar called the heath in The McKitrrick. The music was so good and their engery was amazing. So glad we stumbled across them while having drinks there.

Sleep No More is worth many, many visits. I haven't found any theatrical experience quite like it. The whole venue is magical, though (and Gallow Green is my favorite rooftop bar in the city)

Sleep No More. I really liked it. When I was leaving I heard someone tell their friend they didn't like it because they couldn't figure out what was going on. Don't worry about piecing it all together during the experience. Just enjoy yourself and explore. There are amazing sets, great acting, dancing and surprises. You're almost guaranteed to run into a good scene just by exploring

We went here to see "Sleep No More" and it was brilliant! The immersive theater was amazing, the whole experience was totally unique and exciting! Absolutely recommended to anyone visiting NYC!!

I made a special trip to NYC to see this show and was not disappointed. The set was phenomenal, the actors were very expressive given that no one really speaks and I thought the addition of the audience in masks was both mysterious and a bit haunting. Everyone in my party had a different experience, ranging from seeing many of the scenes to seeing only the periphery action. The experience is truly what you make of it. The ability to interact is well contained during fight scenes by black masked stewards, which was very clever. If you can't sort out what you've seen at the end, its interesting to trade stories with the others that were in at the same time as you. The three hours goes by very quickly, and you should wear comfortable shoes because you'll be running up and down the steps all night.I thought this was an amazing interactive theatre production. Make sure you have a drink on the rooftop bar, the drinks are expensive and they won't take credit cards for less than $40, but the atmosphere is relaxed and the view is breathtaking.

Dress light with comfortable shoes for Sleep No More. Be prepared for darkness, some fast walking if you want to follow the actors. You don t have to run after them all the time. Chances are if you just explore floors at your own time you ll see plenty of action anyway. There are 5 floors, people with black masks will guide you if you re lost, the bar is on the 2nd floor, where you can get a drink, take off your mask and catch your breath.

The most strangest thing I have seen in a long time and I absolutely loved it. However it's not an experience everyone will love. It's kooky, weird and often confusing. There is a lot of walking. I was surprised with how little dialog there was.

This is an experience like none other. It is fully immersive from start to finish and the staff plays the part. The show is out of this world and will leave you feeling like you lived through a wild dream world. I highly recommend checking it out. Expect to be suprised and wear good shows.

Although the price is high, Sleep No More is well worth it. The sets, over 4 (or is it 5?) floors are wonderfully designed and you're left to simply explore. The play runs through twice as you're walking around - you can either follow the actors or wander off on your own and see what happens. There's nothing quite like it on this scale anywhere else. When it's all done head up to the rooftop bar for a well earned drink.

Very different experience. Two of us enjoyed both the emersive Sleep No More and the dinner party, The Illusionists Table. The emersvive was impressively elaborate and well orchestrated. A unique experience for any adventurous audience. The Illusionists Table was well executed by the facility, but not up to the over $200 price. Best for those intrigued by magic and who enjoy communal dinner approach. While facility is rough; that's what makes it an experience.

Excellent experience from start to finish. To go alone is also very well enjoyed, although in the end you feel like talking to someone about the work and what it causes. Excellent environment that produces a trip back in time.

Sleep no more is genius. You don't need to be familiar with Macbeth to appreciate the dynamic take on performance art they're doing. If you're a fan of theater and experimental art, you'll love this, it's so worth it. It was a breath of fresh air in my lungs. Only downside is now I feel like I have an outstanding debt with the devil and that she'll come collecting one day.

As someone who knows the plot of Macbeth but has never seen it performed live before, I really didn't take much away from it. I followed a tailor for much of the evening, it felt like most of the time was spent completing small filler activities (cutting thread, cleaning surfaces, pacing etc.) while waiting for interactions with other actors that were few and far between. Couldn't tell you which of the characters was Macbeth, didn't witness any murder or other seemingly important plot points. I felt I explored the hotel quite thoroughly and was rewarded little for my curiosity. It does create a very cool, eerie atmosphere, but overall not a great experience.

The most Amazing thing I have ever experienced!
At first it might seem as though they're gonna scare you, but they do not at all!
It's impossible to describe what this is, because it can only be truly understood by experiencing it your self

P.S. Here's one tip: get as close as you dare to the actors(literally) and as close as possible to the story itself(literally). It might give you a very different experience than what you first expected!

Sleep No More was an AMAZING experience!

Sleep No More was an AMAZING experience!

I couldn't get over how they transformed three warehouses into a huge hotel setting, with scene after scene decorated so wonderfully.

Not a detail was missing from one of the many, many, MANY scenes. The warehouses were transformed into a lovely 1930s, Macbeth inspired set! LOVED IT

Total waste of money and time,175$ for a ticket and they made you pay 4 for coat and bag(because you are not allowed to bring it)then they give you a mask and you are supposed to be wandering around without any direction with a crowd of people just like you in a darkness, wierdest performance ever, though girls dance beautifully but its impossible to understand what the play is about, you just follow the actors and in a hour they start everything from the beginning, when we exited we were suggested to buy a book to read the explanation about what you just saw.total scam
