It has been here forever and is consistent. Cheap burgers and ice cream. My daughter loved it.

Ice cream cones....heck yea!! Our visit to Pagosa Springs is not complete without them.

Our favorite place to stop and eat in Pagosa. The prices are right and the food is always good

With a name like "The Malt Shoppe" and claims for old fashioned burgers, we expected more. Burgers were like mcDonalds but cost more. The malt was good though.

If you like old fashion and good food this is the place to stop after your day of activities. My kids love the ice cream and the old fashion atmosphere.

The chocolate malts were very good and perfectly sized.

We were not very impressed with this place. It was ok quality, ok prices, and busy. My avalanche (blizzard) was mostly just vanilla ice cream and had obviously fake oreos. Hmm, not seeing the magic people describe here although we didn't eat anything.

Fun place to go with friends or family, close to the river. The food I had was great, the ice cream was even better. Stop by for a malt and burger and to enjoy the view!

This place has really good burgers and shakes and it's slightly cheaper than getting food from the nearby ski resort. That being said, it does tend to get a little crowded. Sometimes the line backs all the way out of the door.

I used to love coming here with my family over the years, but recently the service has been horrible. I waited for 45 minutes in line for an ice cream and finally gave up. The cashier taking orders just disappeared for about 20 minutes and found him smoking on the side of the building with several people still in line.

The ice cream was great but this is the worst customer service I ve ever seen. They ignore you and just hang out and you try to get their attention and they pretend they can t hear you. Then only give you half your order and refuse to help. Won t be coming here again

This place had okay breakfast food. It wasn t nasty but it wasn t nothing to brag about either.

Yummy malt shakes! Food takes awhile so make sure to ask your wait time before placing your order.

Great Malts and burgers ! Right on the San Juan River ! Small place but definitely worth a visit... good old fashion stuff here .

A fun place to get burgers, onion rings, malts, shakes, corn dogs, etc. Our family's favorite is the soft serve ice cream. The large is huge!

Love this. We always have to stop every time we go by. Hamburgers are super awesome and so are the shake and malts. Don t miss out.

Welcome to the biggest tourist trap in Pagosa. Just when I thought 2020 couldn't get worse.

They have the best malts in Pagosa Springs, no question! (They may well have the only malts in Pagosa Springs as far as I know, but dangit they are good malts!) The burgers and fries are super tasty too and the people are really cool.

I didn't try the burgers but a kind of fish and chips, good! On the road and very comfortable to pass.

Love the Malt Shoppe. Have to stop in every time I make a trip from Denver to Cortez and back . You won't be disappointed.

The place is reasonably priced, but it is incredibly slow, okay food, and not very clean. The fries had no flavor, and when I ordered a milkshake, they literally just put soft serve in a cup. It was not great, and I honestly wished I had stopped at a McDonald's instead.

The strawberry shake was pretty good but that's the only thing pleasant about my recent visit. Staff didn't seem like they cared and were in no hurry to get anything done (20 minutes just to order). I could tell they were understaffed, but they were moving like turtles. The waffle fries tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for over an hour and had a rubber consistency. The burgers were bland and dry. Onion rings were so so (fresh from a bag out of the freezer and fried). There are much better places to eat in Pagosa.

It has a quaint feel about it. The ice cream was really good.

I stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed 2 breakfast sandwiches on English muffins. Delicious and quick. The burgers here are also consistently good. The ice cream is the best in the area, so stop in for a delicious malt ora couple of scoops.

1/2 lb cheese burger was actually 2 1/4 lb burgers. Waffle fries were good. Had to add salt. Malt shake was too thick to suck with a straw. Convenient location! Good fast service!

Tasty malts after a long day of being melted in the springs. My SO liked his drink and I liked mine. Only four because it took awhile for them.

Seems to be a really popular spot around here. I just had a strawberry malt which wasn't amazing and a little runny to be honest. I would probably just go for a regular shake next time I think. Still worth a stop if you're craving a shake/malt, or some soft serve ice cream.

This place definitely encaptures old school at it's finest; right down to the cashiers with spunk! Not only do they deliver quality food for cheap, but portion size is fair as well. Definitely a neat spot here in Pagosa, and it's easy to find as well. I remember this place from when I first visited when I was 15, and I near 24 (in a about week) now. The staff they have are an awesome group and will be visiting often on my supper break.

Burger was very dry and I was certain the pattie was a processed pattie similar to the ones from Walmart. It took a while to get our food. Definitely not worth the price.

I walked in 45 minutes ago. It took me ten minutes through the order line. Now there are still at least 10 people in front of me who still haven't gotten theirs. This better be a great burger. Also, this place is freaking expensive. One of my friends just spent $17 on a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a milkshake.

What a hole in the wall. The shakes are good but the rest is horrible. The employees do not wash their hands. The employees were eating and making food at the same time. I asked to have the toppings on the side and they said that they were to busy to do that. The inside was filthy. If I wasn't with other people I would have walked out. Don't eat here!

Took 30 minutes to get 4 shakes. Server admitted to being high on THC.

Total experience time from standing in line to order, to get water a milkshake and a small coke.. 47 min.... wanted to order food but didn't realize it would take so long, they may have been short staffed, the food did smell good?

OK place for kids, I guess but adults will find the food poor and the service unnecessarily inefficient and slow. During summer months it is crazy full of tourists. Beware.

Another one our favorite stops and has been for 30 years. Huge ice cream cones!

Soft serve ice cream, burgers, and frito pie. This is old school Dairy Queen Colorado mountain town style.

Probably the best chocolate malt I ve ever had, the green chili cheeseburger was pretty good too.

Their burgers are basic but decent & go good with the criss-crossed fries or onion rings, yum! They also have a good selection for the kids and nice family atmosphere.
That being said...don't order anything with green chili...it looks like it comes from a can and Is horrible!!

We stopped here to get some ice cream. There were a few people in front of us so we had to wait a little. I would say the wait was not worth it. We didn t try anything other then the ice cream so I can attest to that but as for the ice cream which ended up being just soft serve. The cones were stacked high and good for the kids. The milkshakes were super soft and not that great. Over all I was not very impressed. I would say that it s a burger joint using the front of an ice cream shop to get people to come in.

Great place to have breakfast with the locals, they can answer any question you have about Pagosa and the food is good and the coffee cup is never empty..

Not amazing, not terrible. Nothing special. Could be better if they tidied the dining room and updated the bathrooms by putting doors on the stalls in the men's room and locks on the stall doors in the ladies room.

Can t go wrong with a classic greasy burger and a malt (or shake)! We actually had corny dogs this time with waffle fries. Sister had a chocolate malt and I got coffee - so good! This is another classic spot where me stop for lunch while visiting Pagosa.

Friendly service, nice food menu, great ice cream choices.. always call ahead due to always busy.. Take out only
