Very pleasant experience. I'm a Tucson native who had never taken time to experience the Loft Theater. My loss. The theater has recently remodeled and it's beautiful and comfortable inside. The concession stand is well stocked and the staff friendly and helpful. You must visit this local gem.

Want to watch a movie with your friends during the pandemic? Rent a screen at The Loft! We recently did this with a group of friends and it was great! Setting it up was easy, staff was great to work with, reasonable safety protocols in place, and if you split it with everybody, the cost is reasonable. Great way to support a local business and do something fun during the pandemic.
The Loft is an arthouse cinema. They have the movies you may never have heard of but are worth watching. There are special events and film series offerings. Three theaters are available. Concessions are limited but available. Beer, soda, and water. (RC products). On some nights, a good truck may be there. Support your community and attend a movie here. You may even decide to become a member. Movies are always a good experience here.
Went here because it was the only theater in the state showing a movie. Was pleasantly surprised and will be back as often as possible. Great atmosphere, fun staff and crowds, comfy theatres, tasty snacks at real world prices. Overall one of the best movie going experiences.
I'm spoiled by this place because of the recliners and the food. But it's so comfy, I slept thru half of The Shape of Water. Now I have to go see it again!
I really like this place. Kinda pricey for the food part. But the films are good. Staff are nice to me. Although one night i went to see a movie, they ended up changing the time and forgot to update online..
Movies for thinking, feeling. What a concept. Great movies that generate discussion and don't always end as expected. Film festivals, Monday is cult movie night at 8 for cheap. Sometimes directors presents at some screenings. Three screens at main locations. Sometimes movies shown on a drive in, or at Himmel park. Locally owned and operated (I think). Movie posters available at times. I believe the main screen is still the largest art screen in the US. Use their website it find what is playing today. Screen too is a bit small, but it does have a couch in the front. No kidding.
Love the eclectic film choices here. Theater 1 is newly renovated, theater 3 in a separate building next door. Both nice. Theater 2 needs remodeling plus upstairs with no handicapped entrance.
Nice little, local theater. Offers local food, snack and drinks. Including beer and wine. Sometimes they have local vendors outside, which makes it a fun experience. Seats are old and not comfortable, but they do have a sign showing they will upgrade their seats to very comfortable looking chairs.
The only theatre I attend! Intimate setting and interesting films. Friendly staff and fantastic snack bar... Not to ignore the free popcorn for members!
Good movie theater, it has only one big room. People is very friendly. I forgot something after the movie and tried to call at least 3 times, I left a voice message in every occasion and never got a call back in regards my issue, that's why I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5.
The staff are great! Great intro to Sleeping Beauty. So excited to be a part of a last opportunity to see this film in this way! I love the Loft for many reasons. And little shop of horrors will be my next.:)
Very much like the "new" location. Was a religeous participant of the old, south end of campus, back in the 70s. Good to see that high quality cinema hasn't left Tucson.
I wish the service here was nicer, because I love the idea of an independent theater. But I guess this is their "thing": most of the employees having an attitude...? They certainly have nice snacks and drinks to offer at concessions. And an intriguing movie selection.. It just sucks that service with a smile is way too much to ask here.
One of Tucson's gems, the Loft is that perfect mix of old and new. The perfect date night or mother-daughter outting. The staff is passionate about cinema, as well as the local brew selection on tap or in the can. Check out their memberships for some great deals and support our local loves.
This is by far my favorite theater in Tucson. The theaters are unique, the staff friendly, movies always of an incredibly high quality, and the experience is usually off-beat and unique. For example, the Mondo Mondays; cheap prices for awful cult movies that everyone loves to laugh at. Additionally, there are the "First Friday Shorts", a collections of community made films that encourage an interactive audience. And that's only two of the many activities at the loft.
This is my favorite theater in the whole world! It is an independent movie theater that shows current films and older classics. In addition to newly released films, The Loft presents academy award nominated shorts, foreign films, and documentaries. It hosts numerous themed showings such as women's, environmental, and international events films. It is also the place to view whacked out Sci-Fi. The Loft sponsors First Friday shorts, a program in which local filmmakers have a chance to show their work. You can purchase organic popcorn with real butter, pizza, beer, wine, cider, candy, scones, cookies and other snacks. Members get free popcorn, 2 passes, and discounted admission. Plus there is a Saturday morning Farmer's Market.
The first word that comes to mind is hipster. This movie theater as films you cannot see any place else in Tucson, AZ and they specialize in cult classics and special events. The screens are smaller than other places and the seats do not lean back, but you go for the experience of seeing a movie with like-minded people.
Local non-profit art house cinema. Excellent movie selection. Serve craft beer and wine. Vegan food options. Organic popcorn. Tamales from Tucson Tamale Co. Wraps from Cafe Desta (Ethiopian restaurant). Pizza. Newly renovated main screening room. Super comfy seats.
Love this theater, I saw Godfather 1 and 2 there for the first time in 2008. They show a good variety of foreign and independent movies. They also serve alcohol.
I love The Loft!!! Where else could I go on a consistent basis to get foreign-language films? The Loft shows a range of work--from the sophisticated foreign movies no one understands (not even the directors!) to famous old movies to low-budget indies to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. And if you become a member, you get tasty popcorn for free! Thanks to The Loft, I can keep in touch with the world while living in Tucson.
