It consists of three theaters. The main theater has recently been updated and is comfortable with excellent viewing and sound. The upstairs theater show some wear and tear. It's smaller but still an enjoyable venue. The one negative side is there is no sound barrier from the downstairs area, so when the large theater empties out or open for a show, you can hear the patrons downstairs. Prices are good and they serve adult beverages. They do not show new releases but a huge selection of classics, cult classics, documentaries, indie films, and weekend cartoons. A great theater that with a little more support, to continue upgrading, will get my fifth star.
Independent nonprofit theater with 3 screens. Wonderful movie programming with a variety of regular features (monthly series featuring director or actor, B movies, etc.) Best popcorn in town and other great local selections for snacks (tamales, pizza).
Quality cinema rather than quantity cinema. In addition to a better cut of movies the food is decent and the beer selection is great.
Old fashioned movie theater. Don't like their popcorn. Movie was great as is often the case!!
Great place. PLUS they have good choices bbn of draught beer!
Wonderful place. We always enjoy The Loft Cinema, the best movies, food, staff & people. In New Year is fantastic to be there. When we go, we feel pretty good.
A theater like this is a truly rare and exceptional prize. All Tucsonans should make a point to support and attend this local cinematic gem. It's clean. It's cozy. It's affordable. They show films that you can't even find in most states in this country. Many more years of service and blessings on this establishment!
Great venue, but I wish the 3rd theatre had more pre and post movie lighting.
This place is amazing. They show amazing films and seems to really care about the community. The food is all incredibly priced too.
Nice experience, great service, clean theater with a variety of movie showings.
Love the movies they have from independent to Calt classic. They have two theaters. One is much bigger than the other one. I saw the movie "Se7en" in there which was amazing
Love this place. Always sliding awesome classics and out of the box events and shows. Not the place to go for new releases but the best to go for a fun movie experience.
Love the classic movies shown here and their largest theater has recently been renovated with new seats, which are more comfortable now. The Loft frequently has free family friendly events, member only screenings, and various other events. For the cinema lovers they are also capable of screening 70 mm films and frequently do so. Additionally they have a Short Film Contest on the first Friday of every month which is a blast to participate in.
Beer, sandwiches and pizza is served in addition to normal theater foodstuffs and there is a food truck that is frequently parked out front. All in all the Loft is a pleasant experience.
The best theatre in Tucson. Shows all the amazing films you won't see at the chain theaters. The Miyazaki retrospective this last summer was one the things that made me fall deeply in love with this place. Tucson wouldn't be as lovely without this theater and their efforts.
One of the best movie selection s you'll find anywhere
Great eclectic venue to see wonderful films and community events.
A huge part of the community. Showing older and Indy movies normally, they also host a number of events like sing a longs, director Q&As, etc. They have lots of documentaries and local stuff and foreign and film festival items.
Beautiful theatres, very comfy. Great local foods, does sell alcohol.
During the pandemic doing private theatre rental, curbside concessions, streaming rentals, and outdoor movies. Great flexibility and creativity!
Love having a membership. Much loved part of the community.
The upstairs could use better sound since it seems like only the front speakers worked and the ones in the middle didn't. This made the film hard to understand at times.
The best movies in town and I always feel comfortable going there.
The loft cinema is a true gem and treasure in our beloved Old Pueblo Thank you for all your efforts in continuing to bring us great cinematic experiences.
We're so fortunate to have this movie house. This is one of the best businesses in Tucson. Go see a movie you couldn't see anywhere else in town, enjoy an event or screening with several hundred people who appreciate this place and what they do, have a local beer while you're at it.
Great local cultural place for movies and local events
love being a member!!!!
like that its very comfortable
to come by myself.
If you are a movie lover then the Loft is reason enough to move to Tucson. Eclectic place, great movies, neat programs. So knowledgeable about cinema and still unpretentious. This place feels like it would like nothing better than to introduce you to the total joys of filmdom.
My only beef is that some movies play at erratic times.
First time here and enjoyed it but they need to turn the A/C down it was freezing.
I love this theatre and the movie options. staff is friendly too!
This feels like a film lovers theater. There are great snacks, better movies and their live events (KEVIN SMITH) are a bright spot in our towns cultural scene.
We have been visiting Tucson for years and always visited The Loft to catch indie films and be among people who genuinely enjoy movies. Having just moved to Tucson (April), one of the first things we did was JOIN The Loft as members and couldn't be happier to see that they have recently added a 3rd screen and also serve Tucson Tamales (delicious). Thanks Loft members, patrons, and employees for making The Loft a great place to see films not always easy to find!
We went to a small High School Graduation held at the theater. It was great, comfortable seats, a P.A. system that actually worked & easy to find and park close to main door.
My family took me there for a birthday
Movie. "Last Cab to Darwin ", I believe. ...
Was the name. We had a great time, and the
Movie was excellent. All would have been
Perfect, except for the huge big headed
Man, right in front of me. I am small so it
Was hard to see over him. Hmm Awkward.
Traded seats with a family member. But he
Was so big, he blocked 2 seats. Oh well, can't
Have everything.
Great people, awesome selection of movies, and good theater food. What more is there to say?
I have belonged to the Loft for years. I have seen only one movie in all that time that I did not like.
The Loft is a treasure to Tucson -- a treasure trove of cinema New and Classic and quirky and refined -- a chance to see old masterpieces on the big screen, see off-beat and cult films from decades past, and discover new filmmaking of great merit you would never have otherwise encountered.
Most unique and best theater in town. Wish they had hot dogs though.
The best place to catch indie flicks in Tucson. They have good food choices and you can order beer and wine! Be sure to get the upstairs theater - they have couches for seating in the first 2 rows.
Great movies selections. Reasonable snack prices. Clean restrooms.
Great theater with amazing programming. Had a blast seeing Joe Bob Briggs here!!
Excellent cinema showing art house and cult favourites.
Eclectic, thy name is Loft. Seriously...art films, indies, classics, mondo mondays, and much, much more. Nothing else like it anywhere near here.
Not a convenient location for me but it was the only theater showing the movie I wanted to see. I've noticed this theater carries movies larger theaters do not. I will always go to the theater that shows the movies I want to see no matter the distance.
We saw the documentary on Dolores Huerta. A wonderful woman. It is a great honor to meet you.
Love the films they bring to Tucson and the friendly vibe. The films are indie s, documentaries and classics that shouldn t be missed.
Kids fest is such a fun experience!!! My daughter and I loved it!!!
Yow! Simply awesome. The Loft is our new best friend. Beer and wine, snacks like organic popcorn, a great main viewing room and large screen, excellent sound system, cool kids at the counter, and even an outside cafe table area for kicking back before and after your film experience.
The Loft Cinema has a nice eclectic film schedule in addition to new releases of the first kind. If I lived within a half-hour of the theater I'd be a weekly regular. I live 1.5 hours away and will definitely make it a regular stop for my bi-weekly shopping visits. We saw the new flick, Free Solo, and it was superb on the big screen.
The Loft is awesome! It's a landmark that makes living in Tucson even more enjoyable!
There's movies for all types of film buffs. Great film festival and local providers of refreshments! The staff is kind and helpful.
I love The Loft Cinema so very much! I love working there!! The Loft Cinema is the best!!
They have such a great and eclectic choice of movies. You can find literally any type of film from foreign to documentaries to mainstream. They also have great film festivals as well as special events. We love being members as you get reduced ticket prices ($6 compared to $9.75) as well as free popcorn and other perks and discounts.
One of the true Tucson treasures. Great place for films.
Love this place. Went to see Night of The Living Dead and has nachos and a beer. Atfer mt heart they must be.
Love this place for artsy/indie films that you won't be able to see at any other theatre in tucson.
Great place to go and watch a movie. Easy to find. Excellent parking lot.
Art house movies, one large theatre with new seating and two smaller venues for viewing. Memberships are available as it is a non profit. Regular prices for others.
Staff is horrible, not well maintained as in (cleanliness) womans bathroom is always dirty.
Hoping you reopen soon!!! Ready to come see some good films on the big screen!!!
Watched Apollo 11. Pretty good. Sound system could use a little more subwoofer bass. That rocket engine firing up should have vibrated fillings loose!
A superbly designed, well kept and most unique place to find some of thee most eccentric movies. Plus they have a great selection of food and beer that s wide in variance. I loved all parts of it! Thx!
One of the best theaters in the U.S!
If you really love film, then you should go to the Loft, become a member, and start seeing fantastic films, from the ones you won't see anywhere else, ("Wetlands") to the films you won't see anywhere else because everyone else was too cowardly to show it ("The Interview") to the films that you won't see anywhere else because they are so entertainingly bad they show up at the "Mondo Monday" screenings ("The Sun Demon" or "The Room") to the films that you won't see anywhere else because they are so informative or inspirational ("Mikes Vermeer" or "The Unbelievers") to the films that you won't see anywhere else because they are so rare (1902's "Trip to the Moon") to the films that you won't see anywhere else because they are so good ("Bubba Ho-Tep") to the films you won't see anywhere else because they uncover the hard truth ("Roger and Me")
A wonderful staff, great beverage selections from sodas to wines, beers, and teas, hot pizza and other snacks, and even the free popcorn for members is organic and yummy!
This is not just a theater. It is an institution!
Anyone who REALLY likes films, should become a member!
The best and frequently only place to see special films. Friendly staff, they serve food and alcohol. The latter is useful for watching cult films.
New theater renovation in Screen 1 fixed the AC and banked seating so you can see the subtitles --- now it's perfect. Free movies for members and topical rentals from nonprofits add to the attraction. A Tucson treasure.
Very hot inside. It wasn't even summer. I think they are trying to save money by not running the coolers. Who knows. Either way, it was uncomfortable. Exactly how you don't want to feel while watching a movie.
As a first time viewer at the Loft I found it fun and warm and friendly. Look forward to seeing more shows.
Great place to have a beer while watching lesser known art films.
Nice rotation of classic films. Good prices. I like their beer list. All in all, it's a great independent movie theater.
Saw Princess Mononoke here recently and it was awesome. Beats any theater in Tucson.
Always something terrific showing at this great indy movie theater.
We rented Screen 1 last night for a small group of cousins to watch an old Bogart and Hepburn movie. The theatre was spotless, the employees were wonderful, everyone practiced social distancing and mask wearing. I took some snacks and we bought wine and popcorn at the concession counter. So fun and different, all of us enjoyed every minute. Thanks for great entertaining idea! We love The Loft!
The Loft is an oasis in a desert of thoughtless entertainment. You'll always find some form of community involvement because they ARE the community. Independent movies, theme nights, film festivals, free screening in the park, documentaries, sing a longs, movies with live accompanied orchestral, costume contests without it being Halloween, free kid's movies during the summer, concessions from local businesses. I could go on and on. They show Labyrinth and Princess Bride once a year for the love of God, do I have to say anymore? Because they love our community they stayed closed during the pandemic and opted to offer movies via streaming, they just recently opened to show outdoor screening only ( I went to watch Peewee's Big Adventure. Ya , I know). If they aren't screening something thought provoking, or an old "B" movie, or cult classic, or Live action Rocky Horror Picture show, it's something equally as heartfelt and intentional. It is a community funded theater and that shows in everything they do. The movie goers are just as interesting and diverse and the film's they show. It truly is a privilege to have The Loft to enjoy and call my own.
We drove from Phoenix to see a limited engagement. Comfortable and clean, with a few couches and many, many pillows in front of the regular seats. Oh, the smell of the popcorn..
Really enjoyed this theather but popcorn is over priced
