I have eaten here multiple times. I've settled on shrimp tacos as my go-to taco.

Always good, which is why there is usually wait for a table!

Chef Kevin was awesome to meet and the food was amazing. Shrimp taco was my favorite! Cool atmosphere too.

Great fast casual Mexican food. Drinks are great also. A little on the pricey side for the quantity of food, but quality is worth it. Southern chicken and fish tacos are my personal favorites. Margaritas here are at least as good as anywhere else if not better. Can get very crowded at peak times, very popular place.

Very good selection of tacos. Tacos being on the small side, you don't want to eat here when you're ravenous because it could get expensive to tank-up. However a normal hunger is easily satisfied without breaking the bank.

Decent taco spot. A favorite of UK students and downtown workers. $10 lunch specials. Tiny parking lot in the back, but plenty of nearby street parking.

Local Taco has been one of my top stops for a quick lunch or dinner over the years. Really good ingredients and super fast service. I will say when UK is in session it can be really hard to find seating. Your best bet would be lunch time on a week day. Their brunch isnt half bad either!

I had heard about this place for years,finally had an opportunity to try it. Excellent food! Unique tacos, best queso I have ever eaten, and love the thin tortilla chips! We'll be back!

This was a great choice for a local place to eat. The line you have to wait in to order tells it all. "If you're willing to wait in line, it must be good. Right" if you want your food faster consider sitting at the bar if there is space available. I had the fish, Korean beef and tequila lime chicken. The tequila lime chicken wasn't the best but all else was great. The environment was great, good college hangout.

Food and service were spectacular. This place is hopping. All the college kids eat here so you know it's a good joint. Food hit our table a few minutes after seating. That is fast service. Their gluten free options are great and their vegetarian tacos and enchiladas were amazing. Their salsas with chips were a must. One of the best places we've eaten at in Lexington.

VERY good food. The place was a bit packed. And had people hogging too many tables hanging around when they were done not eating. There was a huge line of people most trying to find a place to sit after they ordered.

The absolute best place for tacos! We always stop by when coming through town. The steak taco is our favorite! The staff is always friendly and the service is fast even when they are crowded.

Great Tacos...Great atmosphere. Can't wait to get back to Lexington.

Kid friendly and fun. Mine like to watch the tortillas being made while we wait for our food. Gluten free options are available; their tacos are one of the best in town!

Was visiting from out of town for a UK game. The tacos are to die for! I will definitely be back next time I'm in town for a game.

Visiting out of town and was recommended to this by someone at the church we attended in the morning. It was so delicious!! I got the veggie tacos and tried my sister's fish tacos which were great as well. So yummy.

Called ahead to let the staff know that I'm coming with a group of 10 people and the lady who answered would not let me finish and would cut me off and say "we don't take reservations". I said "okay that's fine I'm just giving you a heads up" and then she hung up. Let's see how the food is...

My daughter and I wanted to find a nice place to eat tacos. We googled taco places close by. This was the 1st place that popped up. And I'm so happy it did. This spot is awesome. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. We ordered different types of tacos but omg....the fried chicken tacos were insanely good. My daughter likes the shrimp tho.....lol. A little pricey but worth it!!!

This place is great you have to get the corn as a side. I never had a fish taco before and that was fantastic. This is an awesome place to eat.

My favorite is The Local Taco. I went with my parents last week and I ordered "Buffalo Muscle Burrito". This dish is very authentic, not too salty, and very fresh. The Local Taco is a very good restaurant, especially the tender chicken.

Always delicious! This time we went on Mother's Day and brought the kids. I got the fish tacos as they have become my favorite but this time the batter on the fish had either cooked too long or they were old.
The kids enjoyed their tacos and chicken tenders and my husband enjoyed his tacos of the day

Great local spot to eat! All wearing masks, glass is up for dividers. Quick service. Highly recommend the trio platter appetizer.

It was our first time visiting The Local Taco in Lexington and we had a great experience. It was a game day and the service was fast, friendly, food was fantastic, and the drinks were poured perfectly! Thank you for the great experience! We will be back next time we're in town!

Good selection of tacos. Good food. Reasonably fast service.

Customer service is not their forte. Ordered at 8pm, sat down, 9pm came around and had not gotten out food yet. my friend and I had enough and demanded a refund. Both the hostess and the manager were both noticeably irritated. Not even an apology for the delay and poor service. Silver lining was that we got our money back. Never again, local taco!

Such great food and it's good to support local business

We ate here for lunch prior to the mandatory shutdown. The food was excellent and staff was very attentive. I can't wait to go back.

I really love this place. The tots are so good and the southern fried and shrimp are amazing.

This place is a joke, if you are really hungry make sure to order a good amount of food cuz you ll get for just a simple order 2 tiny tacos that will get lost on you first tooth lol

Delicious! Crazy busy! Loved the Cuban corn and brisket taco!

This place is great, but expect a wait literally no matter what time it is - it's that busy. The chips are light and crispy, and I'm told the queso is terrific though I don't eat it myself. For tacos, it is a tad on the pricey side, but it doesn't stop me from treating myself every now and then.

If you're looking to have a private party, there is also a large entertainment room upstairs with a bar.

Parking can be a nightmare, depending on the time you go, so you may to park some ways away and walk to the location.

Very nice place with food food and very nice bathrooms.

Great food but usually busy, takes a while to order and at times, hard to find seating.

Came here for drinks, my date ordered margaritas and chips and their trio dipping sauces. We got to sit at the bar, as they now have bar stools. I wasn t forced to wear a mask upon entry, but they have signs stating otherwise. There s parking in the back if you can t find any out front. The restaurant is following all of covid restrictions as in social distance and limited capacity, as well as the servers all wore masks and those in the kitchen or handling food had gloves on. The drinks were strong and great. We both enjoyed our margaritas and the great chill vibes from this place. Will definitely come back here again in the near future.

I've ate here for about 6 years. And slowly over time, prices have went up and portions have went down. Today just topped it off. My tacos were 4 inches around and when they gave me the chips to go, there was about 2 inches (less than15 chips) in the bags (we had a side order of chips and queso too). I asked for a few more, got a nasty look, and the girl only added to one bag. I understand costs rise. But dont raise prices and then continue to cut portions. And when asked for more because the portion of chips is not worth the extra $4.00 don't give nasty looks.

Just average. Cold food again. Average margaritas. Average service. 2nd visit in 4 months.

It's classic and a student favorite for a reason. Had my first legal drink here - Big Blue Margarita!

Love this place. Great food. One of my kids didn t like what he order and manager changed it out at no charge.

Cold bland tacos and the margarita pitcher was very slow to come out and had way too much ice. Got 4 small margaritas out of it. Tried 5 different tacos and none of them had much flavor.

Overpriced tacos and wasn t good either. Was only here for tacos so wouldn t know about bar menu but nice outdoor seats.

I really loved this place! They have a huge menu of choices to choose from! The food was prepared perfectly!! Great atmosphere, full bar, and five star service!!! Highly recommend this place!!!

Local taco has excellent, if not overpriced, margaritas, but I have never been pleased with their food. I ordered take out tonight from them for the first time in several years and I could not be more disappointed. When I pay nearly $40 for 8 tacos I expect them to be AMAZING tacos, unfortunately they were just mediocre. The meat is so dry it s almost crunchy, the flavors leave something to be desired, the mouth feel is a mushy mess. Tacos are one of my favorite foods and Local Taco tacos will be a pass for me from now on.

Tacos and sides were delicious, but a little pricey.

So I tried local taco and I decided the first time I would get some Queso and chips because everybody knows if the case is not on point might as will not even try the rest of it the taste was good but you pay five dollars and you only get half a container of queso so I was very I m pleased about that so I probably won t go back.

Always great! Gets busy at lunch time, especially when UK is in classes. The line moves gairly quickly though. My favorite is the fried chicken taco, but nothing has disappointed here.

Local Taco is delicious! Owned by good local families that truly love to feed the people. Amazing specials and even better tequila selection.
