Amazing stay! Loved the layout of everything and the room was cozy and timeless. CJ was great, she was so accommodating and sweet. Loved the personal touch she put in our room! We also took part in the wine and cheese plates that were served in the evening , would love to come back soon.

This place was wonderful! The service was fantastic, made-to-order breakfast was great, and the wine & goodies in the evening was very nice. All of their staff was very helpful and courteous. I can't wait to visit Columbia again - I plan on staying at the Peralynna again too!

Cool bed and breakfast in a reclusive location near baltimore. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. It was nice and quiet and the room even offered a deck. I took my fiancee here for birthday. We woke up and we're able to get a cook to order breakfast with a wide variety of options. The seating area was spacious.

Stayed for the night of our wedding. Front desk gave us a tour when we checked in and the place was nice, if not outdated in decor and amenities.

We were in Suite X which has a private patio entrance accessable with a key card. Well, at 7:30am in the morning, another guest walks into our room thru the patio using their own key card, mistaking it for their room. Quite awkward, and we couldnt go back to sleep!

Told the front desk and they didnt care. Not sure how it happened that our room/door was keyed to someone elses card, but they could have gone in at any time.

A disappointing experience plus a lack of care from the front desk.

The room was excellent, everything nice & clean! The only thing will be that in the beginning staff were super nice by our 2nd night they all became extremely rude and started giving attitude. When it was time for us to check out nobody was at the front desk.

This place did not live up to our expectations. We are very disappointed with our stay and with the overall disrepair of the inn. The appetizers that they put out were old and inedible and the four boxes of white wine were disappointing. The breakfast was okay but they use cheap ingredients and the coffee was old and cold, even after I told the staff. Our room was okay other than the wet carpet from a recent cleaning that made it annoying walking around the room. The bed and linens were very nice. I am under the impression that this place was once very nice but not anymore. Not worth the money we spent. 7/2013

Best place I have ever stayed yet! Bro-in-law got us the L suite as a special get-away treat. Room was spectacular, staff was phenomenal, and the food was amazing. Didn't want to ever go home. I believe this will become a routine get-away for me and the wifey during anniversaries and other occasions.

The Inn is beautiful on the outside, really interesting/odd setup in the interior though. The prices vary greatly from what Booking/Trivago advertise online to what we actually paid. The $20 per person breakfast is WAY too much for what you get. In my opinion it's pretty hard to mess up breakfast, but both days, the 4 of us left pretty disappointed in the breakfast service. Had we not paid in advance, we would have definitely gone out somewhere else. The rooms were nice, but when staying at a bed and breakfast with a kitchenette in the room, I expected some utensils and the basics. All the drawers, cabinets were completely empty and the toiletries provided in the bathroom were just empty plastic bottles. Overall, I felt it was overpriced for mediocre amenities.

Our stay at the Columbia Inn was delightful. It is the attention to detail that makes such a difference. Lamps beside the bed, comfortable reading chairs, inviting common areas, excellent breakfast, and a very homey atmosphere all contributed to a lovely experience.

I'm very irritated, to say the least. The overall experience was 'ok', however when I forgot a phone charger, I called immediately and offered to pay for shipping so I could get it back. The girl found my charger, and said she'd get back to me. I've called several times since, and still no phone charger. It's been several months. Not to mention the people can barely even speak clearly to know what they're saying. I will never be back.

This would be a 0 stars out of 5 Stars if it were a choice. I made a reservation at this bed and breakfast. The Columbia Inn at Perlyna never emailed any confirmation to me at any time. However they did take my money promptly.

I had to cancel the reservation and gave them 3 weeks notice. I called a number of times to speak with the Perylana Inn owner who never made any attempt to phone me back. In fact she told my bank that I never phoned them and did not cancel the reservations despite all of my phone records. This is VERY DECEITFUL. Additionally, they never gave me back one penny nor did they do anything to reimburse or give me a credit. All they did was to take my money and run. This is what you should do take your money and run away from this place! Stay anywhere but here unless you don't mind throwing money away.

Loved it. Extremely charming decor. Friendly staff. Sweet owners. Very accommodating. Has an upscale feel without being cold. Breakfast was the best. Cooked to order. Cheese and sweets served in the evening with wine. We ended up staying an extra night. You will not be disappointed.

It was a okay stay. I ordered the rose petals and candles. 40 dollars each but when I went to my room the room didn't have either. I called after I left to see if I can get a refund they said it'll take 5-7 for it to be back on my card. So I waited and I called the 7th day because it still wasn't on my card and got no answer calling back to back so I'm out 80 dollars. It's not a good look for the company.

I stayed in the Presidential room. It was really nice and spacious. There was a huge Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. The toilet is in a separate room which is very nice. The closet was huge! The bed and living area is very comfortable. There's a sink in the living area by the mini fridge which is very convenient. You have 2 decks outside. One more private outside and the other is shared. Really very nice mom and pop type feel. It could have been cleaner but that not to say it wasn't clean because it was but there's room for improvement. I would definitely rebook here and I definitely recommend this place.

My husband and I went for our anniversary. Stayed 2 nights. Loved it. Very homey and welcoming. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. The room was huge! ( we stayed in the "c" suite) . The pictures online dont even do it justice. Breakfast was very good and the whole atmosphere was just very welcoming. We will definitely return in the future. Highly recommend.

I have had the pleasure of staying a couple of times at this beautiful mansion. The staff is just like family and extremely professional. The rooms are beautiful, the rooms I stayed in were more beautiful than some hotels. This B &B is clean, comfortable, quiet, and a great place to stay. The last time I stayed I ordered an massage in addition. It was just an awesome experience. I will always love Peralynna, I'm looking forward to my next visit.

My partner and I spent an absolutely enchanting evening at the Peralynna. We attended the Romantics Dinner and Dance on November 22nd; it was a low-key intimate event where we enjoyed fantastic food and were graced with beautiful music by the amazing duo Love Story. The hosts and staff were all so warm and gracious. In the course of casual conversation, they learned that my significant other had recently returned from deployment to Afghanistan and surprised us by having the band thank him for his service. We were both touched by the thoughtful gesture. I was thrilled to win the evening's raffle prize of another dinner and dance and look forward to our next date night at the Peralynna!

The description of the room we rented was not even close to what we experienced. Stains on carpet, holes in walls, mildew smell, no "Complementary Water" and for the "romantic add on," plastic rose petals. While we made the best of our anniversary weekend, this place was a HUGE disappointment.

Regal hotel back in the day, but not today. Unable to connect to internet signal. Poor television service/signal in the room and low definition regardless of channel selected. Subpar breakfast but the coffee was good.

Large room with a comfortable bed, but excessively heavy down comforter, which made sleep difficult.

Overall, the hotel felt like it was nice at some point in the past, but has not kept pace with upgrades to match the present hotel standards.

We chose the Inn to host our bridal party for our micro wedding this year and will be doing it again next year for our postponed wedding. We were able to rent almost the entire house and will be renting the entire house next year. Cynthia was amazing to work with and her dedicated staff were so sweet to all of us! Thank you for such a special place and making us feel at home for our important day!

Their commitment to COVID precautions were very clear and they really take the time to make sure everything is clean and safe!

The Columbia Inn at Peralyna Manor is a gem not to be missed!
I cannot overstate the level of customer service given to those staying here.
Not only are the owners, David and Cynthia the most interesting and generous people, but they treat you as their own family.
Staying here is relaxing and comfortable.
The breakfast is delicious and the evening choices of appetizers, desserts and wine selections is a welcomed treat every evening!
I will always return to this lovely Inn anytime I work in the area!
I highly recommend it!

The room was cold when we checked in and only one of the two electric fireplaces produced any heat, our only heat source. I informed the staff as we were on our way out to dinner. They put a space heater in the room for us which didn't help much. No phone in the room. Nice coffee maker, but no actual coffee in the room. The couch was uncomfortable and the TV's were kind of small. The bed was extra firm. Suite S. Not worth the price.

Lovely food and great service. Be aware that some rooms are on the 3rd floor - no elevator. We were just travelling, but this would be a great place for a long romantic weekend - easy access to Annapolis and Baltimore.

This is a WONDERFUL B&B. The staff are warm, inviting, and always helpful. I highly recommend this hideaway for a weekend of romance or relaxation.
For the first time we stayed in a downstairs room, it was lovely EXCEPT for all the walking above our heads. Please install more insulation. It was not a nice way to wake up, especially when you've planned to sleep in.

Not as pictured!!! This is a VERY old, very smelly, very creeky house from the 80's, where the rooms of the old home are rented as if it is a hotel. Everything can be heard as any childhood sibling could hear you in your room next to theirs. It's a house. Not what we had in mind, based on the website and photos that seem quite regal and classy, though the staff is very polite. Young male employee is quite obviously physically filthy and smells horrible with strong body odors. Garage sale style decorations, beat up furnishings, TV that does not get cable, and is useless, DVD cases that are empty, though there is an old 15.00 dollar DVD player in each room. Shared rickity balconies with strangers, ancient bathroom fixtures and setup, no central air in the rooms, no coffee in the rooms...pretty disappointing to say the least, and for the PRICE. Would certainly never do again. Live and learn.

Very beautiful Inn, great staff, delicious breakfast. Little hard to see from the street, but Google maps got me right to the driveway. We will be back to spend a weekend, we loved it so much. The Inn feels historic but has modern conveniences and is well maintained. Many outdoor locations are available for sitting and conversing.

Are there rules here I don't know about? We have stayed here a few times before and it's always been awesome. Love the owners and their family and they've always been super helpful and nice. Not sure if it was because it was New Years or what, but this last stay was pretty rough. The room was excellent, but I am a bit confused about the kitchen and breakfast ordering. We stayed NYE and the day after - on NYE, the kitchen staff - 1 cook and 1 helper were sullen and indifferent to our attempts to order breakfast and get coffee. Ok, I get it, it's New Years and there's a big party - no problem, it's hard to work on a holiday. We work with the assistant, who doesn't have seem to have ever looked at the menu. We finally get an order in..and we wait....and wait.....and then it arrives.
Sadly, the food was a far cry from our previous stays. Five little half potatoes and two practically raw poached eggs for me. Kids ordered bacon and pancakes - only get pancakes. Toast was good. Coffee was good until it ran out a cup into our breakfast. We tried juice, the orange was fine, the cranberry had expired and was not tasty. Assistant is no where to be found when we try and correct the kids order. Sigh. Eat breakfast, move on.
The next day was very, very unpleasant. We came up for breakfast at 9AM and all the coffee was gone. All the juice had practically run out as well. There were seven people all waiting for breakfast already in the dining room, so I knew we were going to be in for a wait. But I when I said hello to the chef, she didn't turn around to acknowledge my existence or say anything. Ok, maybe I mumbled. So I looked at the menu for a couple minutes more while my husband and I politely waited for the chef to turn around or for the assistant to show up. No dice. I said Hello again, louder this time and she still didn't turn around. At that point, I decide I'm done, so I just put the menu back and head back to our room, meaning to check out. But suddenly, our key card doesn't work. So now, husband has to corral two hungry confused children while I get the front desk staff to key us a new card just so we can get in and get out. I'm just sad it went like that because we've had such a wonderful time before. Perhaps it was a one-off, but still, it left a sour taste in my mouth. Our stay was a gift from my parents and they were upset at the series of events. Maybe we'll try to stay when it's not a holiday.

I had a wonderful stay Saturday in the S Suite! Everything was beautiful! The room was clean and nice sized. The pictures on line doesn't do this room justice! The fireplace was nice after relaxing in the jacuzzi. Staff was helpful when I called and pleasant once I arrived even, escorted me to my room! I would recommend this B&B to friends and will return in the near future!

I didn't want to write a review because i do not want anyone to know how awesome this Inn is. Was like staying with family, only we didn't have to help clean up! Spectacular property with a very "home" like feeling. Every amenity available, and gracious hosts.
Perfect location to get to where ever it is you'd be visiting. Breakfast cooked to order, and with a smile! Comfy bed with a private balcony. We will be back. Let's just keep this hidden gem our little secret ok?

Stayed there on Saturday night. I have no idea who these reviewers are that dish our 5 stars but this place is seriously outdated. You can tell that it hasn't been painted in years. The railing off of our balcony was leaning. the bathroom had some type of fixture on the wall missing but yet the mounting bracket remained. The furniture in our room was old and tired. The night stand would fall over if you looked at it funny. And the breakfast? Passable......but for over $200 should have been much better. And the table cloth at breakfast? Stained. You can tell that perhaps at one point this place might have been nice but it's heyday is long since past.

We had a wonderful experience at the Columbia Inn at Peralynna this past weekend! We felt like we were living in a hallmark movie during our stay. The owners Cynthia and David along with all staff, and guests, were simply amazing. Everyone was so kind and we had such a fun time that we decided to extend our trip and book an additional night! This place really felt like a home away from home to us and we cannot wait to come again! We only wish that we lived closer than we do so that we can come here more often for weekend getaways!

Loved our visit! The Columbia Inn at Peralynna was a winter wonderland the day we checked in! We immediately knew we weren't in Texas anymore... we felt right at home with the cozy atmosphere and the graciousness of the hosts. Our room was beautiful and the bed mattress was super comfortable, giving us several great nights of sleep. The chef made us a most delicious omelet every morning...and happy hour was just perfect before our evenings out. Highly recommend!

This place was probably, some ten or so years ago, every bit the gem that other reviews describe. Today, though, it seems a bit of a disappointment. The amenities aren't bad, and much better I'd say than hotels in the same price range, but the place is in overall disrepair and the service is so-so at best. I'd still recommend it, but not with enthusiasm.

The Columbia Inn at Peralynna is the perfect place...

The Columbia Inn at Peralynna is the perfect place for a stay, no matter the occasion. Patricia, Cynthia, and David were wonderful hosts, enthusiastic about the property, and did everything to insure a great stay. The Columbia Inn is clean and bright, and extraordinarily well maintained. It is obvious that great care has been taken to create a pleasant, homey atmosphere. I should particularly mention David, whose grace and humor in showing us around were welcoming and uplifting.
If the entire reason you go to a bed and breakfast is for the bed and breakfast, then the Columbia Inn is the perfect place. The bed is remarkably comfortable, as are the pillows, to the point that my wife, who seldom weighs in on my reviews, insisted that I mention how great the beds are. Likewise, the breakfast was perfect, with some fruit and juice, in addition to the obligatory coffee, and made to order omelettes.
We were at the Columbia Inn with relatives who seldom stay at beds and breakfasts, but we heard them say, several times, that the accommodations at the Columbia Inn were such that they were going to rethink future plans for stays. That is certainly a compliment to the staff and the facility at the Columbia Inn at Peralynna, and a well deserved one, at that.
We have stayed at many beds and breakfasts (you can check my profile), and we found the Columbia Inn to be one of the best experiences we have had.
We certainly enjoyed our stay at The Columbia Inn, and we find ourselves now looking for an excuse to return.
