Absolutely well thought out and simple elegance. Cynthia and her husband have created a traveler's oasis for their temporary residents. I will make an effort to stay here again if in the area. She is a quite an interesting woman with story to tell. It makes since that she is a writer in addition to owning this hidden gem. Treat yourself and stay here if you can.

I had decided to spend the final night with someone special before she left again. It was truly cozy. The inn is like a cartoon castle with all sorts of turns and rooms. They are a sweet old couple and man was it warm and welcoming. I can say for something like this to exist, this is one of Columbia's hidden getaway inns. It was truly lovely and very well priced for what you are getting. The room itself was small for 2 people. But it isn't a negative as they give you a key for a private bathroom and everything. At least in my opinion. Great place if you want to get away from. Your usual home. Love the people and it feels like your bidding as this inn is tucked away on a near empty country side road. I may come back if I'm in the area.

UPDATE: I received a prompt response from the owners, who have had some family illnesses to deal with recently. They offered to refund my money, and said they would be addressing the issues mentioned. I will give them a few months and will visit before I attempt another stay.

I was very disappointed with my stay considering the $225 price tag of our room. We stayed in room V. First the good, then the bad... The staff was very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good, but nothing special. There was a nice variety of options at breakfast, made to order. The pastry items seemed store-bought and not especially fresh, however. The room itself was in disrepair with a hodge podge of poor-quality furniture that missed the shabby-chic mark by a mile. The electric "fireplace" unit didn't even have the appearance of flames. There were stains on the sheets and bedspread. There was mildew in the shower. There were several patches on the wallboard that hadn't even been painted. In general, walls and trim were dingy and in need of a cleaning and new paint. We couldn't lock the door that went out to the patio. We also turned off all the heating items in the room (the fireplace and an extra electric ugly heating unit that was there for some reason), and we still felt like we were sleeping on the sun.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay here this past weekend. We had the pleasure of having CJ show us around and check us in upon arrival. She was nothing but wonderful during the duration of our stay, and she made us feel very welcome. While we were there we had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Cynthia and David. It was nice to see them on the premises and being involved in their business. After my boyfriend and I left we talked about staying here for our next anniversary.

Stayed over 10 years ago and came back to relive the experience only to find very run down, sadly past it's prime. Fixtures peeling, stains on ceiling, cheap electric fireplaces, peeling caulk and grounds in rough shape. Disappointed and not a good value.

Very nice B&B! Has fantastic decor and am excessive amount of staircases which I found endearing. As an avid tea drinker I loved all the cups and tea pots on display at check in. The rooms were nicely done and the access to outside from the room was convenient. Breakfast options were tasty and the wine social snacks at night were a nice touch. Would love to stay here again

Excellent family owned inn in a great location. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We stayed here one night to attend a show at Merriweather. Not only would we consider staying here again, it will be at the top of the list of places we try to book a room whenever we are back in town.

Well for starters the food was good (but I think it's a little difficult to screw up bacon and eggs). Let me discuss the place; the outside is in desperate need of a manicure! I am not only referring to the landscape (or lack thereof) but also the Inn itself. The building is in much need of repairs inside and out. In my opinion, it comes from neglect and basic "non-upkeep". The room and bathrooms in our suite were clean, (loved the jetted shower) but the furniture (sofa) was old and a bit tattered, as was much of the other furniture throughout the B&B. The balcony off from our room definitely could benefit from a good, strong pressure washing, and outside carpet care or replacing; it would make a world of difference in the appearance of the place and most importantly a difference in appearance
to your guests!
Now the customer service was phenomenal!! Housekeeping and the entire staff were VERY accommodating and VERY nice and friendly. They followed the typical concept of a B&B (complimentary wine and cheese, crackers, cookies etc) a nice touch which heightened the level of service they provide.
We would be inclined to return every year for an event we attend, but if improvements aren't made, doubtful we will be back or recommend. My advice, if feasible, definitely scope out the place first (and I don't mean online) and make your own decisions. Had we seen it "live", BEFORE booking, we would have stayed elsewhere. I'm not trying to be mean or promote a bad or negative review, it's just what was of concerning to us.

Absolutely horrible!!!! Pay 350 a night and you walk into a half clean house... The owner over booked and then double charged me for my room and then change my reservation date...

Lovely place! We enjoyed our stay in the the R room with the jetted tub in the bathroom, which had granite floor. The owner David was very friendly as was the staff. The entire house was gorgeous and the decor was magnificent. Definitely returning

Not as expected /pictured . The house is in fact beautiful yet very old and with very bad maintenance. For instance , they have very old TVs , the beds are really old as well , not to mention that some pillows are not comfortable at all. In my personal opinion, they should really take more care of the place itself , maybe some new beds ? Pillows ? Tv? Even the wooden floor. On the other hand , the food is delicious and staff seems like they do an incredible job !!

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. It was wonderful! The owner was very friendly and served us complimentary wine upon arrival. The room was immaculate. It have everything you could want and more in it. There was an amazing view from our room (the O suite) and the breakfast was delicious.Overall this is a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it.

We booked our room for a weekend getaway in the O princess suite. First we had to wait till 6 pm to get in our room. Then the jacuzzi was full of ants. Once that was cleaned up found out it didn t work at all. So we just showered. We finally lay down and try to watch some tv before bed but that didn t work properly either. We were promised a free night for all the inconveniences. Great. We book again a few months later only to have first out room moved because of a wedding party, then a few days later our reservation was cancelled completely because the hotel suddenly needed repairs. Was told they would call us to rebook once repairs to roof were completed. We were never notified. So we just called them again to make a reservation for our room and now they told us that we would have to pay an additional 150$ for the room because the rates have changed. BEWARE

The rooms are huge, including the closets (who needs a closet the size of a bedroom in a hotel?!), and the owners are sweet. However, there's holes, stains, and not so great patch jobs everywhere. No room service at this time, which is fine, since covid is an issue. And they're rather judgemental with non hetero relationships. So just be careful.

This place is unparalleled! The atmosphere and overall vibe has an X factor that can t be described, yet I think everyone has their own version. I ve stayed numerous time over the past 10 or so years and it never ceases to amaze me. Every time is like the first time. Yes, it s familiar, but it never loses its ability to delight and keep you in awe of its beauty. It is perfect for any occasion, whether you need a relaxing weekday/end getaway or have a tea party, baby shower, anniversary, Valentine s Day or wedding. I m delighted whenever I get to speak to the owners but all the staff does a tremendous job making you feel right at home. Going back feels like an adventure and I can t wait to come back.

very nice people, wonderful staff, very nice to my kid. fun balcony and nice quirky little rooms. the design details are not there but you cant have everything. a few things didnt work properly and could be updated. ultimately a great place that needs a bit of polish (and less statuary out front)

Nice, quite grand, boutique hotel / BnB. Very friendly staff, fresh cooked breakfast, and free wine and canapes in the evening for socialising. Could do with a little TLC / maintenance in places, but communal spaces are great and there's a big garden (too cold to really use it when I visited). I've stayed in two rooms - Y a smaller room with own bath jacuzzi, plus all the usual amenities, and T a much larger room with sofa, TV, desk, room to swing a cat.
There's not a lot close to the hotel - if you want food and drink, you need to drive a little way. Only exception being the iron bridge restaurant, which is fantastic & you can walk to, (no proper sidewalk and busy road tho) but is a little upscale for routine use.
Overall, definitely a superior experience to the local chains, will definitely go back.

Great secluded area for anyone who wants alone time and to forget their troubles. Even with the great scenery it has it's drawbacks. Such as, inefficient air conditioning, the coolest room was the bathroom, no tv remote guide, i'm young and i had a hard time working it. Lack of HD channels, when you clicked on the HD channel the screen was black. The steps felt unsafe when walked on, shower water pressure was non exsitent, too many flies, customer service could have been alittle bit better. The suit had intercoms that did not work, to reach the front end you had to use your cell phone. Overall, it's an ok place to visit,it just needs more TLC and a modern remodel.

My life these last couple of months has been peppered with crisis, chaos, and confusion. I needed a break, a retreat. Scouring through possible destinations, it was love at first sight when I came across The Inn at Peralynna Manor.

The moment I walked in I could feel layers of stress shedding from my shoulders. This place was comfort food for my soul. The owners, Cynthia and David, reminded me of my neighbors in the country town where I grew up; they were warm, friendly and inviting, while you didn't see them all the time, you knew they were around keeping a watchful eye in case you needed anything.

I needed very little this weekend, a comfortable bed, a hot bath and a place to write and clear my cluttered mind. The king size bed, fireplace and Jacuzzi tub was the perfect setting and cured what ailed me. When I wanted to venture beyond my sanctuary, I made my way to the library and nestled in the luxury of an over-sized recliner that comfortably accommodated me and my laptop.

Besides the beautiful decor, hospitality, and fantastic omelets what I found most amazing was that while this place was filled with happy couples rekindling romance, I, a party of one seeking refuge felt right at home. Proof that the Inn at Peralynna has something for everyone.

Eclectic, adorable house. Great staff. Booked through Expedia and had some confirmation problems, but cj and Cynthia at the inn were very friendly and patient with us and swiftly resolved the matter for us. Breakfast was good. Loved the wine and cheese at the end of the night. And cookies!
Such a unique place that we stumbled upon, and were meant to be there. We plan to return.

Walking into this home I was taken away with the beauty of it. Check in was a breeze. The room was spacious, comfortable & cozy. I did not "partake" in breakfast, but it smelled delicious!! Will definitely return again!!

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. It was our first time, but certainly won't be our last! Once you turn off Route 108 and pass through the property's front gates, you are transported to a private manor where the rest of the world ceases to exist. From the minute we walked through the door, we were well taken care of and treated like family. Despite the fact that there was an actual family member of the owners having their wedding at the inn the next day, all of our needs were taken care of and the owners' family made time to speak with us regularly. Everyone was polite and friendly, while still respecting our privacy. The Inn was beautiful and the room perfectly appointed. There was just the right balance of sophistication and class without being pretentious. We stayed in the L Suite, which was sprawling, clean, and comfortable. The beds are as comfortable as everyone says. Breakfast made to order was a perfect, home-cooked meal and a great way to start our day. Although the weather was less than desirable while we were there, the view from our bed and balcony was great...rolling hills of the neighboring farm, complete with a flock of sheep! We quickly decided to make this our annual anniversary spot, so we will be back!
