Perfect location for a hotel but the wood kind of looks old which I think they can improve. But I think they can do that and then other than that the food here and everything is good.

Room was not ready at checkin time. 1.5 hours late. First night used valet, they opened windows and left them open, it rained, interior was wet. They apologized, wiped it down, gave us gift card and sent us on our way. Last day of stay, we had to request them to clean room at end of day and were told they were getting rooms cleaned for those arriving. Our room was the only one not cleaned so my guess they stopped to take care of those arrivals. To end my vaca I forgot my pillow, I called twice, not even a courtesy call back from housekeeping to let us know they couldn't find it but my thought they discarded it. We will not go bsck.

Vintage Chophouse was excellent! Great vegan options.

Location was beautiful, one side facing the beach and the water and the other faced the garden and the colored cliffside. It was quiet and felt very private. Rooms were gorgeously decorated and furnished, and provided a comfortable, but luxurious, at-home setting. We were there for a family wedding and service was awesome. Concierge were happy and friendly, and the catering were quick and on top of their job the whole time. Food was fantastic, drinks were great- and strong!

Gorgeous place. Room was awesome, kitchenette & fireplace in room was great. Pull out sleeper and a Murphy bed too! 6 people can stay in room easily.

I love this place. We went before the season got going. I like it a little sleepy, still managed to have a great time.

The location is incredible, right on the water with amazing views. The rooms have been updated but keep the same charm as the original look and feel. The "resort" aspect just wasn't there. Service was pretty average and then pool area service was very hard to come by.

We had a room booked here for three nights for our "mini-moon" and we couldn't have been more pleased! The rooms were awesome and the views were absolutely breathtaking! My husband had booked this and thought he had the room with the full kitchen attached to it and accidentally booked the one without based on the description and photos on their website. It was no problem though because this gracious, amazing hotel opened up our room to the adjoining room with the kitchen so we could have our full suite to celebrate our wedding! We also got breakfast at the restaurant every morning and loved the quiet, calm atmosphere as we watched the beautiful lake outside. The valet and bell hops were also so polite and helpful. Even the front desk staff seemed to know our names even though they didn't see us that frequently and would greet us so pleasantly when we saw them. My husband also booked a surprise with them where they would do a special turn down service and leave us roses and chocolates. I loved every moment we were here and I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Definitely one of the more spectacular resorts I've ever visited. As somebody who's born and raised in Los Angeles I'm used to high-end resorts and fabulous getaways that are normally an hour or two drive.

And certainly getting the Bay Harbor Michigan is no easy task but it is well worth it.

The inn at Bay Harbor is a part of the autograph collection and it is spectacularly managed with a wonderful staff who are friendly and eager to help. The food on the resort is delicious and there's no arguing they have an amazing view of lake Michigan from pretty much everywhere on the property.

If you're a fan of one wine you will not be disappointed as the selection stretches across the United States in the parts of Europe there's a little something for everybody here.

Disappointed in maintenace and repainting eliminating turn of century look. Dining room no longer open for dinner. Huge mistake. Bring back the class of white table cloths and the bar should be a bar.

The hotel, the grounds and staff were excellent. Our room needed an update such as peeling paint in the bathroom. The bed was a hideaway which was inches off floor height which was not good.

The hotel was OK, but didn't meet my expectations of a 4 star hotel. The walls are very thin...I could hear the people next to us as if they were in our room! The Keurig in the room was not functioning - they brought another one to the room that just spit out hot water (despite trying 3 different pods - and I have a Keurig at work that I use daily, so I know how to operate). The beds and pillows were clean but NOT comfortable. There was no channel guide for the TV (and no digital menu/guide). I called the front desk and they let me know that they have a channel guide at the Front Desk ....I mean couldn't they have used the copier in the business center and may a copy for me?

Fireplaces in rooms, great location. Enjoyed the calmness this time of year, lovely Christmas decorations.

We stayed here the first week of August and had a fantastic time. Addressing some of the other reviews:
- Yes, it s $1,000/night. It s NOT the Four Seasons. BUT you re going in with your eyes open on that.
- We has zero problems with staff, room service, friendliness, etc. In fact, quite the opposite. They were friendly, prompt, attentive.
- The grounds were very well kept. The geese were around but the lawns and walks seemed groomed every morning.
- We too were not able to check in until 530 (past the 4pm check-in); however, our room was spotless.

Pros:
- Master suite (king) was amazing for the four of us. Separate bedroom which opened onto a balcony overlooking the lake and sunsets. Kitchen with an electric range, full-sized fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The room also had a large round kitchen table and seating at the kitchen bar . It easily could have slept 6 with a pull-out bed from the wall and the pull-out sofa.
- Breakfast was fantastic AND free for 2 adults in the room and for all kids 5 and under. The buffet was hot and fresh and they made whatever my kids asked for, off the menu and on.
- The hotel has washers, dryers and accompanying detergent/dryer sheets for free (came in very handy).
- Friday s and Saturday s feature free homemade cookies and every nice evening, they provide s mores kits for the fire pit. Wednesday-Sunday also feature kids activities on the lawn.
- Staff was amazing. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes for anything we needed (towels, trash, bottles of water, etc.). They went out of their way to give us fresh milk for the kids and made sure they felt at home too.
- The pool and cabana bar are very nice, the water kept at the perfect temperature.
- The hotel and rooms have an amazing view of the bay and sunset and are 20-30 minutes from lots of small towns.

Cons:
- The pool was a bit small for the number of people there and it seemed to be open to guests of the hotel, cottages (and we overheard some were staying at surrounding houses). On the weekends you definitely have to get their early else you ll sit on the ground. The stated 2 hour limit is not at all enforced.
- The beach is all rocks. The tide was soft and water very nice; however, we weren t aware and would have brought more water shoes (less a problem more so than managing expectations).
- The WiFi was challenging. Despite full signal strength, it dropped a lot and was choppy. Not as much a problem for a vacation; would have been challenging to work from the room had I needed to.
- The dinner menu was limited and expensive; however they do have a kids menu if you ask. Also, the room service menu is pretty comparable to other resorts. I was impressed by the lunch.

Recommend Also Going:
- Petoskey State Park (sandy beach: $9 cash/checque only)
- Petoskey: Beards Brewing has great pizza; Back Lot Beer Garden (lots of food trucks and great beer selection)
- Charlevoix: Sunset Charters (great, 2hr affordable catamaran rides)
- Harbor Springs: Tom s Mom s Cookies, Staffords at the Pier, Paper Station Bistro
- Lavender Hill Farm
- Pond Hill Farm (great beer garden and sandwiches while the kids can run around and see farm animals)
- Burnt Marshmellow Brewing (easy to enjoy beers, wines, ciders while kids run in a field)

Outdoor restaurant seating features a beautiful view of the lake and grounds, bit be sure to face away from the sun late in the day (very sunny, with non adjustable umbrellas). They also seemed to be frequently running out of non perishable items like liquors and linens. Minor annoyances.

Winter is out of season for this resort, so prices were good. Well maintained hotel. I got a lot of compliments from the group I hosted. Close to skiing and a casino. Wonderful sounds of crashing waves.

Darryl was horrible, the customer service was wretched. They had an event and there was no parking to be found and the staff was less than accommodating . It's pretty the area but the front desk leaves much to be desired. I met an employee in the parking lot named hunter who was apologetic and somewhat helpful.
I would highly suggest calling ahead to check in events before you book.

Grabbed a drink and chatted with some locals. The drinks are a little more expensive than your other option near, but they a bit higher class establishment, with better booze options. Food options were a bit fancy and pricey for us, but we enjoyed our visit and would return.

Misleading photos on website. They have a private beach but it s been filled with river stone. Over priced for what you get. The $25 breakfast buffet is basically what you get for free at Residence Inn or at the M Lounge at other Marriott properties. Great for retired couples who just want to chill out on a balcony.

Amazing resort and great service all around. Comfortable beds and large sized rooms. Restaurants on-site great as well!

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. We walked in to champagne, chocolate, a red rose in between two kissing swan towels on the bed, and a beautiful view. It was such an incredible experience staying at the Inn. The breakfast was phenomenal and so was the dinner. The views were incredible and there were so many activities to do at the resort! It was elegant, clean, relaxing, and adventurous! We 100% recommend the Inn to anyone and everyone. This Inn blew us away - we loved it!

Great location. From top to bottom the Inn at Bay Harbor excelled. The staff was excellent at every level. Courteous, they were ready to help or accommodate your need or request. The restaurants we're gourmet quality. My wife and I highly recommend the Inn at Bay Harbor.

Staying at the IBHAC takes me back in time. A beautiful hotel with excellent rooms and a delicious restaurant downstairs (Vintage). Unfortunately I was there on business or I would have stayed longer. Highly recommended!

There is private parking and a chill room at Boyne Mountain exclusively for the Inn at Bay Harbor guests. Ask the front desk for access.

One of the few places or things I've dealt with that I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Everything was perfect. The employees we dealt with at the resort are what stood out the most, and are worthy of the highest praise. They treated us better than we could have expected. The whole Inn, from the exterior to the lobby to our room, was gorgeous. With a suite that included a fireplace, kitchen, jacuzzi, and lakeview deck, we couldn't have asked for more. I'd have no hesitation recommending the Inn to anyone.

Excellent property! Everyone is very friendly and accommodating! Rooms are updated very nicely. The Vintage Chop House was fantastic. A great all around experience.
