Beautiful. Friendly staff. Great Food. Weddings are Beautiful. Rooms are clean and tidy. Great place to relax. The Cabana is one of my favorite Summer time hangouts while visiting The Inn.

Tremendous hotel. Great views, attentive and helpful staff. Only place I will stay in Petoskey.
Beautiful hotel with amazing amenities staff and food. There is a very lovely patio with a great view of the lake.
I was there as a hair stylist for a wedding and I drove from Traverse City. We had the room at the far end of the first floor was absolutely beautiful and spacious, good experience.
Absolutely loved our stay here. We traveled with 2 young children and the staff and atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, polite and accommodating. The location is beautiful and convenient. The restaurant was also very good and again courteous and accommodating with our young children.
Nice hotel, inadequate cleaning staff. Check in is at 4 but our room wasn't ready until 6...we even called ahead the day before for early check in.. After the first night we came back from a day on the town and the cleaning staff had left our door open all day. Security had to be called to check the cameras to ensure no one came in. Great rooms and views, but we did not feel that our personal belongings were safe in the room. We went the remainder of the visit without cleaning service.
I live in the Napa Valley in California where we have many very exclusive Resorts where you can have beautiful views and some of the best food on the planet, but every summer when I vacation in Michigan The Inn at Bay Harbor is a MUST vacation stop. This place is absolutely top on my list of Resorts. This is a place where you are treated well by staff, eat fantastic food and sleep like a queen in the comfy beds. The scenic views are so peaceful. It was voted one of the 500 World s Best Hotels for 2014. The Inn is one of three hotels from Michigan to make the venerable award list, which is published annually in the January issue of the international travel magazine. If you have not checked it out, I highly recommend that you do!
The hotel is great, with exception to the old, rough towels and uncomfortable beds.
We held our winter wedding at The Inn at Bay Harbor in January 2018 and it was absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough about how great the staff was. Our wedding coordinator, Katy, was absolutely amazing and helped turn our day into everything we could have dreamed of. She was fantastic to work with leading up to the wedding through emails and phone calls. She helped with even the smallest details on the day of the wedding. I couldn't have felt more relaxed and was able to enjoy the entire day. The winter views of the lake from the Sagamore Room (our reception) were wonderful. All of our guests had a fantastic time and got great pictures with amazing views! Highly recommend booking your wedding here!
It was a great get away. Had fun and was very relax full
Wonderful stay, great amenities, friendly staff, beautiful location!!!!!!! Enjoyed drinks from poolside bar while sitting on the beach watching the sunset.
Bay harbor is lovely. The rooms are spacious and if you're on the lake side the view is wonderful. Check in is a problem. Many people in my group could not get into their rooms until well after 6. They must not employ enough cleaning staff. The staff members are pleasant and the amenities are numerous.
We stayed in one of the Cottages that the Inn offers for my wedding. The place was very modern and clean and made for some amazing pictures! The staff was very friendly as well.
THE HOTEL GROUND ARE WELL MAINTAINED AND THE LOCATION IS PERFECT - THE STAFF WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL - WE GOT A SPACIOUS 1 BEDROOM SUITE THAT HAS A LIVING ROOM AND KITCHEN THAT WAS ON THE GROUND FLOOR; SO YOU COULD WALK RIGHT OUT TO THE BEACH - THE POOL AND OUTDOOR BAR WAS NICE AND THEY HAVE BIKES YOU CAN USE AS PART OF YOUR RESORT AMENITIES FEE - YOUR CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN PETOSKEY WHICH HAS GREAT RESTAURANTS AND THE CHOP HOUSE GRILL IN THE HOTEL WAS VERY NICE - ITS PERFECT FOR FAMILY'S - WE WILL COME BACK EVERY YEAR !!
I have been in many of the rooms at the Inn at Bay Harbor. Since they are individually owned, they very in upkeep and decor. Overall, they are well done. The Weddings I have photographed here have all been really nice. The food has been great! The views can't be beat.
The restaurant is fantastic. The views and the property are amazing. Family oriented summer spot
I was just there for work I'm only doing the survey for the google play credits
The rooms are lovely. The people are wonderful. Second year in a row...The pool is a mess. Late in the day there are towels everywhere, trash all over the deck and tables. No one cleaning, no one picking up towels. It looks more like a college frat party pool. So disappointing. Tried to call the front desk from the pool but you can't reach a real person.
Had such a wonderful time at this resort with my family. All of the staff helped make my uncles wedding a very special day. Calvin one of the waiters and Tamara one of the bar tenders made sure we were taken care of all evening going into the night and made sure we were 100% satisfied with everything. Calvin made sure I got boxes to give my mom for the wedding cake because we had our little one running around most of the time. She had to go back to the room with him and I definitely appreciated Calvin's extra generous help!! I would strongly recommend this beautiful resort/location to anyone looking to get a way and enjoy a peaceful time. So many friendly faces, people and scenery I wish I could go back. Thank you again Inn at Bay Harbor!!
Always a beautiful time. They are doing major renovations and the facelift looks good!
Amazing hotel. From staff to rooms to property. The best place to stay in Petoskey.
I was very impressed with Kim in the Spa, I had her style my hair. It was so beautiful and looked healthier. She gave me this shampoo treatment that made my hair feel fabulous, I love the Spa staff and will definitely return on my next vacation. Thank you Kim for your service at the Spa.
The Inn at Bay Harbor is the best large hotel that we've found in all of Northern Michigan. The rooms are amazing and the service is impeccable. Obviously you pay for what you get and their peak season and even spring/fall prices are quite high, but I strongly suggest a weekend getaway to the Inn in the dead of winter when prices are reasonable. Of course you sacrifice the warm weather, but the lakeside views are still amazing. The only hit that I'd give it at all is that the in house restaurant has little in the way of gluten free or vegetarian options, which at this point is a must.
The views were great and the people were nice. However, for $500+/night the condition of the room was unacceptable.
Our first stay here and we were very pleased. Very clean and sanitary. Located on the shore of Lake Michigan with beautiful views. Great food. We will return.
The resort is classy and inviting. I will admit that we visited at an off peak time but I was upgraded to a bay side suite upon check-in.
All of the staff we encountered were friendly and went above and beyond to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.
I look forward to returning in the not too distant future.
From the minute we stepped out of our car we were cared for with utter kindness and hospitality. The room and hotel were so clean and they took every precaution to keep us healthy. Our room was gorgeous and the view was incredible. Our in room meals were some of the best dinners and breakfasts we have ever had in a hotel. It was quiet and relaxing. The perfect getaway. We will certainly be back!
Clean, upscale, with very well trained and helpful staff.
Went for the breakfast buffet on vacation. Wide selection of food that was kept nice and hot. All was delicious and well prepared.
This is an amazing hotel with staff willing to meet your every need ... even if you're not sure what you need! Had an amazing time. Would return in a heartbeat!
This place is amazing. Not only is the hotel itself amazing but so is the staff. The surrounding area is breathtaking
A very well appointed room and exceptional staff to help make the stay amazing. The view of Lake Michigan is second to none and the beach is perfect for the kids. The pool area is well maintained and a great place to take a dip is the lake water is a little cool. So much fun!
Special place on earth.
Go if you can.
Absolutely beautiful. Perfect for a nice weekend trip. The grounds, the water, and the location are perfect. My husband and I always try to stay here when we want a romantic getaway.
The hotel is beautiful. The staff is extremely polite. And the food is great.
Stay here at least twice a year (one summer strip, one winter trip) and always have a 5 star experience. Food is excellent and atmosphere is better. Rooms are always perfectly cleaned and concierge is quick and accommodating. Thank you for all of the memories. Look forward to seeing you this summer!
This place is impeccable! We had the king suite overlooking the water and it's by far the most beautiful hotel room we could have asked for our small family. It had all the amenities we needed and the balcony view was perfect! While the baby took a nap we would enjoy the balcony from our Master.
Just to be fair, he got to have a bubble bath in our big jacuzzi tub every night!
The staff was always helpful, friendly, and obviously happy to help. The breakfast buffet was delicious!
Petoskey is just a 10 minute easy drive to all the restaurants, shopping and outdoor fun you could want.
We can't wait to come back!
Pastrami sandwich was incredible. Decent beverage selection.
We checked in on Friday, June 16, 2017 for a family Wedding. Upon checking into our room we were surprised that the suite for 6 was extremely small compared to the description. There was no place for additional luggage for our daughters. We had to move the table and chairs to pull down the Murphy bed making it difficult to move around the suite. I opened the patio door for our 3 three old to play while we were getting ready for the wedding. Within minutes he came inside to tell us that he found something. To our surprise it was a used maxi pad laying on the patio. I immediately called guest services. Housekeeping was sent to our room to pickup the gross maxi pad. No greeting or no apology at all. Our family spent thousands of dollars over the weekend for the wedding plus money spent shopping. We, both are GMs of well known hotels and we couldn't believe what our 3 year old found plus the lack of great guest service. I took a picture of the dirty maxi pad but could not attach it to my post.
Beautiful property and of course the lake is amazing. Very friendly staff. Extra clean rooms.
Bay Harbor is the most upscale, not only the accommodations but the golf courses as well. Bay Harbor features three 9-hole layouts, with many holes that follow the topography of the Michigan coastline and offer incredible views of Lake Michigan. At the time it was built in 1996, the Links layout was the most expensive 9-hole golf course ever built and for many players, the par 5, 7th hole is the most memorable of all three tracks. The hole plays 490 yards from the Blue Tees and hugs the Lake Michigan coastline all the way down the right side. The landing area of the tee is generous, and a well-struck tee shot will give you the opportunity to go for the green in two. The scenery that plays out as you make your way down the fairway is absolutely incredible.
Beautiful views, nice comfy rooms and great community to relax and enjoy northern Michigan.
One of the prettiest places in Michigan. The views of Lake Michigan are breathtaking and the sunsets unforgettable. As you would expect, the hospitality of the staff is exceptional. The Inn is also a comfortable commute to Mackinaw City, where you can catch the ferry to the island. Perfect summer retreat. I really recommend the Tower Suite.
First class all around! First visit and love this place. I can see why it is a challenge to get a room here. Not a place to run around in cut offs and slam beers, but maybe that is why I enjoyed it. There is activities for the family, huge chess set, croquet, swimming pool and the view is breathtaking. A fantastic place to stretch out and relax. Oh yeah, if you enjoy bloody Mary's, this is your place. DELICIOUS!
Kinda hard to find with the construction but awesome place
This hotel is fabulous. Great room service, friendly staff, great food at all three services, absolutely gorgeous views from all windows.
I will be back to this hotel. I was also very pleased that the rooms where so well done. You felt like they hit all the small details well on decorations and set up.
Nice enough. Only 4 stars because I'd reserved a king bed and they didn't have it when I got here. Otherwise good size room, adequate exercise room, spa, and a beach
The good: It's a very beautiful property and hotel, in one of the most scenic areas of Michigan!
The bad: Unfortunately, I had a less than desirable experience with the check-in clerk that I encountered, who visibly and seemingly was the only staff on site at my evening arrival. I was very polite with her, yet she seemed short with me, and completely ignored the Titanium Elite status that I've built with the Marriott Bonvoy hotel portfolio through many years of loyalty. At one point, the clerk even stated that she was not aware of Marriott Bonvoy, or it tiers of benefits. Instead of receiving the resort style greeting we were looking for, after a long day of travel, the clerk treated my guest and I like we were pariahs to the establishment.
In addition to the distasteful check-in experience, we also found that the hotel was under renovation during our stay, which was heavily apparent when I was awoken at the crack of dawn to the noise of hammers and electric saws in the adjacent hallway. In the hotels defence, there were signs in the hallway that stated that renovations were currently in progress. However, I was completely dismayed by the fact that we had been placed in a room so near obnoxiously loud renovations, especially when it seemed apparent (by a mostly vacant hotel and parking lot) that the check-in desk could have simply upgraded my room or moved my room assignment to a different section of the very large hotel.
Fortunately, a very polite and helpful manager contacted me early the next morning, and did attempt to make-up for the misteps that I had encountered with the front desk. While I felt relieved to see that the resort management did care enough to correct the blemish witnessed by an Elite customer; inevitably it would be hard for me to recommend staying here. Hopefully management has indeed rectified the customer service issues that I encountered, and prospective customers will be treated to a classy resort experience that a establishment like this should exude.
Super friendly staff, beautiful hotel, extremely nice rooms, and the location is amazing! We would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Great venue and fantastic service. Worth the price.
Extremely disappointing stay from Monday June 28 until today July 2, 2020. Had to wait over two hours to get in our $1000+ night parlor room; asked for ice to be delivered and it never came; spa was not available for massages (one of the main reasons we went!!!); our room was directly next to the outdoor dining patio and we could hear every conversation; the room furnishings looked like a high-schooler picked them out (poor design AND quality; there was no daily servicing of our room; and the dinner menu was extremely limited. Maybe for $150-200 per night it would have been ok, but NOT FOR $1000+! The Manager Michelle said they were struggling to get staff because the rich Federal unemployment benefits dissuaded employees from returning: ok, then set appropriate expectations and proper pricing for guests. I will say those staff who were there were very courteous, as were we, but it will be a long, long time before we consider returning, and we have been there many times. And I am a Marriott Bonvoy member!

We come here every year as an extended family, 100+ people. Staff is always extremely nice and accommodating to the little kids. Place is gorgeous. The price is worth what you get here.
One of the best places we've ever stayed. The staff truly treated us like royalty and were friendly and polite. The views were amazing as well.
Great winter getaway. The cottages are spacious and beautiful. Room enough for family and to cook. This along with all the amenities of the Inn. For us, the hot tub, cookies and hot chocolate and high tea.
With family on business as a guest. I've visited here several times and each time it's been absolutely splendid. The view of the beach is extraordinary and the water is so clear. The local area is beautiful and the hotel amenities are high class.
Just returned from a lovely 4 day stay at the beautiful Inn at Bay Harbor. First and foremost we felt safe and well cared for. The staff were all very pleasant and very accommodateing. The staff from point of check in to dining to concierge service were wonderful and didnt miss the opportunity to making our stay better than expected during these difficult times. We rode the complimentary bikes every day along Lake Mi into Petoskey. Breakfast every morning cooked to perfection. We are looking forward to going back this fall.
We stayed for our christmad party. The staff was amazing and super friendly. The breakfast was amazing in the morning.
Staff was incredibly attentive and eager to help. The room was clean and the beds were wonderful. The food at the in house restaurant (Vintage Chophouse) was simply amazing!
I stayed at the cottages at crooked tree an we found them to be really
Nice with maid service and clean facilities. I am coming back this year.
the people at the Inn could not have been nicer or more helpful.
We stay here every year and it is one of our favorite Marriott properties. Staff is awesome as is the food and service. Could use a bit of a face lift externally (time to paint/pressure wash) but the hotel is grand and lots of fun. The Hall family will be back for many years to come! Oh, the breakfast buffet rocks!
Very nice and clean. Staff was very cordial and polite.
Incredible experience, from the staff to the views it's a wonderful hotel.
