The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Everyone was nice. The room was nice. The pillows were very soft. The gym is a fair size and had a decent set of equipment. The pool is an outdoor pool. The location allowed for walking to most places.

Lovely hotel within close walking distance to most tourist hot spots, including the French Quarters. Great conciege services!Construction currently taking place next door and depending on the room, expect to be woken up around 6 or 6:30 with construction noise. Didn't bother me too much considering I wasn't there to sleep my day away anyway!

The hotel itself is very nice. It's fancy. The rooftop pool is great too. We were in a room away from people at the end which was perfect for a family with 2 young kids. The only part we didn't like was that valet parking was $50. We visit New Orleans when we see our daughter's doctors at Ochsners and are usually on a budget. This trip we planned to go to the aquarium the next day so the $35 parking down the road stressed me out a bit. We would definitely stay here again though, just plan for the valet parking next time. The employees were extremely friendly, kind and helpful. It made our whole experience good.

I've stayed at this property before and it was amazing. It is currently being renovated and I can't wait to see the finished product, although I'll never stay there again.

Our room was located on one of the newly renovated floors and was beautiful. It had a big balcony with patio furniture but with just a view of an office building next door (no big deal). Our sink was clogged and I called down to the front desk and someone was up there in a matter of minutes and fixed the problem. The engineer was nice and did his job quickly. No problem there.

We went to leave and walked into the motor court to find chaos, which is normal at check out time at the end of a weekend. Bellman were assisting other guests with luggage, new guests arriving, other guests waiting on their cars from valet. Busy Busy. There was no clear "cab line" so we asked one of the bellman for a cab. He directed us to the street (in the pouring rain) to hail a cab. I thought this was odd but since they were busy and we had a flight to catch, no problem. We did as instructed and sure enough, we hailed a cab. He agreed to take us the airport and then proceeded to pull into the motor court out of the rain to load us. That's when it all went wrong. A Different bellman stopped us from getting into the cab and Yelled "you have to wait in line". I tried to explain that there was no line when we walked out and we were directed to the street to hail a cab. This meant nothing to him and was met with an even louder rant, "I have a line, you have to wait in line". The bellman who directed us to the street shrugged when I pointed to him and the "yelling bellman" yelled (very close to my face) "you should have talked to me! not him."
I have no problems waiting in line or following protocols. I do have a problem being yelled at by an employee of a hotel of which I am a paying customer and following the direction of another employee. He didn't apologize and when the next cab came, I took it and did not listen to his rants (because he tried again).
To make matters worse, I sent an email to the GM of the hotel. I got no response. I then submitted a complaint via the IHG website and I got the following response:
I am sorry to hear about your distressing experience at our InterContinental New Orleans. I definitely understand your frustration. I informed the General Manager of the hotel regarding this issue so that can be avoided in the future and am confident they will take the necessary steps to continue to improve their services. In order to show our concern for the matter, I have added 10,000 points to your IHG Rewards Club account that will be available in the next 10 days.
I am hoping to serve you again soon.

I don't want points. I want to know that management is aware of what happened and I want a more heartfelt apology. This response seems very, "here is 10,000 points now go away." If this is how both the management of the hotel and IHG customer service runs their business, I will never stay at any these hotels again. My hope is this review will trigger further action. I Guess we will see.

Great location and value for money but the rooms are seriously dated and so is the gym (somewhat run down). I'm sure this hotel was stunning 20 years ago but it needs to be revamped. The Loews and ACE hotels, also located nearby, provide more atmosphere and nicer amenities.

The hotel is okay but very expensive for the value. Parking is a lot, plus a 11% tax and you can't even use the in-room refrigerator without having to pay a fee. They have an $8 bottle of water in the room and cheap toilet paper. Next time I will probably stay at one of the other hotels to see if it's any better.

Well appointed room with very friendly and helpful staff. The concierge planned several itineraries for us so well could see much of New Orleans in our brief visit. The location was accessible to both the museums and the French Quarter. I recommend staying here.

The hotel is located on the fringes of the French quarter (so it is quite quiet). The decor was quite nice and the rooms were pretty big. Service was a little slow at times (we went during Christmas holidays) but it was generally friendly and competent. This hotel is definitely good value for money

Good location, walking distance to Bourbon St. Numerous restaurants and bars nearby. Updated rooms, well appointed. Service was good, could have used more than one person working the front desk during morning rush.

We have stayed at a lot of InterContinentals and this one was one of the better ones. The location was convenient as it s an easy walk to the French Quarter and bourbon st. It s a fair walk to get to the French Market but you can also catch the trolly which runs next to hotel. Ate breakfast at hotel each morning and they had a good selection of choices. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I made a quick trip to New Orleans this week just to get away. I stayed at the Intercontinental and was very pleased with my experience. The room rate was really reasonable compared to what I've seen at other IC hotels in East Coast cities. Check in/out staff was really nice. My room was large, clean and well appointed. Sink design was a bit odd, but I can't ding the rating on that. Hotel is a short walk from the French Quarter, and has a street car stop right across the street. Excellent location for business and tourist travelers.

I really liked the lobby area. It had numerous "interesting" art pieces and vases that set a cool mood.

I was really impressed with both of the restaurants in the hotel. I ate dinner at Trenasse and the whole, fried yellowtail snapper was wonderful. Thanks to my server, Brian, who recommended it and also provided superior service. I twice ate breakfast at Pete's and thoroughly enjoyed the entrees I ordered. They also have a buffet that looked well stocked and very clean. Big thanks at Ashley R. who was incredibly friendly and pleasant. She made some fantastic recommendations and was nice to converse with.

I would definitely stay here on my next visit to New Orleans.

Clean hotel with friendly and professional staff, but its frustrating that they've done away with mini fridges to pack more overpriced stuff that charges you if you accidentally move something.

They have the snack motion sensors which almost all hotels have, but doing away with mini fridges to add an overly expensive alcohol chiller seems ridiculous.

The hotel is awesome. Easy access to the French quarter. Great bar. Great friendly staff, with one exception being the vallet staff, who are friendly...just incompetent.

First off the vallet park your car 3 blocks away, at a $15 park per day lot on the corner of Germain and Barrone. Save yourself some money and just walk...trust me...in the time it will take them to pick up your car you could have made the walk a couple of times.

In fairness...our car wouldn't start. After waiting an hour being given misinformation about what was going on with our car they comped us 2 (out of the 3) nights of parking.

However all of that could have been solved by a your car won't start...which was told to us an hour after we'd been waiting...after they tried and failed to jump our car (also...p.s. it took us one try to jump our car no idea what they were doing)

Juan was a sweet heart and just shared with us the information he had...and comped some of our parking without us asking...honestly just confused as to how someone could fail so hard at starting a car.

Save yourself the headache and walk the three blocks.

Made a reservation 2 weeks ago, showed up, and my room wasn't ready until 7:30 pm!!! They didn't offer any type of compensation, much less an apology. Horrible first experience, definitely my last. I would rate 0 stars if possible.

The last thing you want after having a red eye tacked onto your 12 hr hospital shift is to be told that the next available room will open 6 hrs from the time you check in. This is exactly what happened. I'm exhausted and have nowhereto go! What's worse is the family that arrived just moments before us were able to be accommodated. Unbelievable.

My favorite hotel. Point blank period! I've stayed here twice for 2 business occasions and its Great. Love the rooms, pool and restaurants. Walking distance from everything downtown, Canal, Bourbon, Harris and even the River walk and a chilren friendly.

Love this hotel!!!...very elegant and quiet. Will go back for sure. Check in groupon for discounts and offers. I got a really good offer for less than $100 per night. It is really close to Bourbon St...we walked almost to everywhere from here but the trolley literally passed by the hotel door if you want to take it. Great experience!

Can not express enough how satisfied we were with our stay! We had 2 rooms for one night and they were great, but most off all the staff was exceptional! Salman, the manager, was absolutely fantastic! We could not have asked for a better trip or customer service! Keep up the great work!

The location was ideal just outside the French Quarter but within easy tram , taxi , or walking distance of everything really. Staff were all helpful including the concierge. They couldn't do enough to help . We ate one night in the hotel restaurant and that was enjoyable. Room was excellent and of a high standard . Could recommend a stay in this hotel .
