Awesome service (Dominic & Dave at the bar), awesome food, great selection of drinks. Dear owners, if you are reading this: you need to open up a Griffon in Ballantyne (Charlotte), NC. You d make an absolute fortune!

We visit the outlet mall close by and were recommended this place as a nice stop for visitors and we continue to go back every time. Not really a bad item on the menu, just depends on your mood. Recommending getting a reservation when you are planning to go there.
I've heard of this place and had to experience it for myself. It was my birthday and the waitress (Grace) recommended everything we tried and we loved it all. Between the service and the food, I recommend everyone goes at least 5 times. And ask for Grace!!!!!!
From out of town and stopped by here thanks to trip advisor and yelp reviews. Oh, My, Gawd, this place is amazing. The food, the huge selection of beers... My only complaint is how many states away I live and how hard it will be to come back! Oh, but I will be back. That is a promise!
Recommended by our Hotel manager for great local eats. We liked it very much. Our server, a handsome man with a curly salt and pepper ponytail was wonderful. Answered all my questions, was very friendly and a super waiter. Thank you for a great meal! PS. I LOVE those homemade pickles!! Do you ship to Boston?
My mother and I went here on a weekday afternoon, probably around 1 pm. They were packed but the wait was pretty short to get a table. It's after we got the table things went awry. We waited at least 15 minutes to be waited on. At one point I saw one server flag down another and slyly motion to our table as I believe he was supposed to be our waiter but he just shrugged and ignored her. This is probably why our wait was so long as he just didn't want to wait on us. Our waitress, when she eventually got to us, was super nice and helpful but it was obvious she was busy and doing a lot.
Food was good - my mom ordered the beef on weck and was disappointed that the roast beef wasn't soaked in any juice. I had the elk burger. It was delicious though I learned game meats shouldn't been cooked medium rare... that's on me though. I did request the burger with no mushrooms but it still came with mushrooms. Easy enough to pick off I thought but man, there were A LOT of mushrooms. Oh well.
I think my biggest complaint is cleanliness. When we were there the place was DIRTY. Floors covered in food and papers, everything slightly sticky... I won't be returning to this location solely because I felt like I needed a shower after sitting down and if the seating area is that gnarly I'd hate to see the kitchen. I will give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that perhaps it was a busy day and it's not normally so icky but I'm not willing to risk another trip and $80 to find out.
Pros: The blue crab dip was freaking AMAZING oh my god. The elk burger was good but slightly cold when I got it. My mom requests the roast beef be dipped into the sauce before being placed on the bun.
Cons: Dirty inside, wait times were long, seemed like only one employee was working really and she was stressed.
Service is great! Food at times seems rushed and not as well prepared as it should. Been there many times only had a so/so meal once or twice. Will deff go back tho.
One of the best meals I have had in a long time dining out. We came around 6pm with no reservations, which I would say you should make. We waited about 45 minutes or so at the bar. While there having a drink we overheard 2 other diners raving about the tuna nachos. So, intrigued with that we tried them. They were absolutely fantastic! We were there on a Friday night and that's the only night they serve fish. My wife had the cajun while I tried the baked butter one. Again, we both loved it. If I had found this place the day I arrived I would have eaten every meal I could here. Again, fantastic!
Such good food! They have an awesome way of flavoring food. The calamari was the best I've had in awhile. Charred asparagus was delicious. Our waiter was super friendly and accommodating.
Only complaint, they could update their booth seats. They're so low to the floor, I felt like I was sitting in a child's chair.
This is hands down one of my favorite places to eat and catch up with friends! The food and service is always over the top. I live much closer to the East Amherst location but will always drive out to this location in NF because the atmosphere is much better for talking and I prefer their menu offerings to the other locations. Try the mangia steak, you will not be disappointed- get the gouda shells and cheese for your side...and don't forget to follow up your meal w/ the pillows of love for dessert! Trust me, you will thank me for this !
the food os always good. The beer selection is is over 50taps and changes often. Only complaint is the menu does not change at all yes they do have specials but the menu needs to be updated
We had our after wedding dinner at Griffin Gastropub. The food was excellent and the waitress went above and beyond in making our experience special. We ordered a cake from the bakery (The Village Bakeshop) that Griffin gets their baked goods from and they delivered the cake to the restaurant free of charge. The menu was diverse, great drink selection, and wonderful staff!
Loved this place! A friend and I were shopping at the outlets and looking for something local and fun. Great food, service, and fair prices! Lunch was busy and we got the last seat in the house but it never seemed like more than a table or two was waiting. The chicken and waffles sandwich was fun and innovative and the BBQ fries were amazing! My friend had the steak black and blue salad and loved it too!
The food was inventive and amazingly flavored. The service was thoughtful and intentional. I had the vegan spicy black bean burger and it was delicious. If I have a complaint it was a little dry but most bean burgers are. The condiments were good. The fries were phenomenal and I am a fry fan. We had the thai peanut hummus for an appetizer, it was phenomenal! The pairing of peanut and hummus is genius!
The food and drinks were good. We ordered a few appetizers to share at the table. Everything was portioned similarly except the corn fritters which was a huge platter we couldn't begin to put a dent in, even though they were delicious and we ate a bunch.
Has easily the best burger I've ever had. The surf and turf burger. A half pound of Angus shaved steak and beef, with a thick crab and lobster cake. Amazing. Beer selection is far above average. One of the best pubs/restaurants/bars I visit. And I visit regularly. Have yet to have a bad meal there. Service is always friendly.
Amazing place off the (tourist) beaten path. Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Staff was great as well. If you re in Niagara and you re not eating here, you re doing yourself dirty.
I called ahead to see if they were open, later went in and was asked if I made a reservation and because I didn't the wait was 45 minutes. There were several open tables more than 6 feet apart but people sitting on top of each other at the bar. We left and went to another establishment, Judi's.
We found the service to be slow. Looking only for a drink and something light to snack on. We ordered the crab dip and were not disappointed by the food. Although the dip came with some grilled pitas there was not enough to consume the 15 dollar appetizer. We requested more pitas and were charged for them.
Great food at good prices. Awesome waitress. Noise level blistered your ears as the acoustics sux. We had to shout across the table to be heard. They need some acoustic help To make the dining experience tolerable
This place is always awesome. The wild game burger is always interesting and I recommend trying it. Also the chicken and waffles sandwich is amazing. Honestly everything there is great. The service is friendly and prompt, and generally not a long wait. I've been here plenty of times and I cant recommend it enough!
Great selection and service at this location and exceptionally friendly staff. Very clean and interesting decor throughout, plenty of beer choices, very friendly bartenders - food was excellent, hot and quick service, we shared a burger and a platter of deep fried heaven-delicious! This location is highly recommended!
I love the Griffon and everyone who works here however the menu doesn't change and there are no specials. The Lewiston location is my favorite and the menu is amazing. Transit is great as well.
One of my favorite restaurants in the region. Unique menu, good atmosphere (which is surprising since it's physically located next to a garbage dump). Great bar and beer menu. The service staff is friendly and helpful. We drive 30 minutes to eat here on date nights. Call in advance for a table, it packs out. This place is a hidden gem in Buffalo.
The food is usually good, the beer is good. I like the atmosphere of the place. The only issue I had is when my friend attempted to order one of their winter beers that was a higher price than most on the menu, the waitress kept stressing the fact that it was an expensive beer. My friend acknowledged that she understood the cost and was okay with it. She still wanted the beer. There were 2 more additional people that came over to our table after we placed the order to double check and make sure she wanted such an "expensive" beer! This was a bit off-putting. We started to take little offense to it. Did they think she couldn't afford the glass of beer? We were confused. We assured them she still wanted the beer. We laughed it off but it just seemed very odd and kind of ruined the experience of the meal.
The Griffin is a good place to hang out and have a few micro brews or take the family for dinner. Creative menu with some traditional stuff too. Typically great service but occasionally they get overwhelmed and you can wait a bit.
Pot stickers were amazing! I know that seems strange, but the consistency and flavor was perfect! The dipping sauce was perfect amount of heat and flavor. The potatoe soup wad great and a meal by itself. Oh and i had the beef on wick which was really good too!
Such a cool place and the beer is so cheap so try as many as you can. Our waitress Allison was so nice and we never felt unattended to. The pizza egg rolls were the perfect appetizer and my chicken and waffle sandwich was to die for. But the best part were the sweet potato fries with honey butter. Best sweet potato fries I ve ever had. Special mention to the burger that was cooked perfectly and the mac and cheese that made the meal all the more between. Definitely check this place out!
Visited Niagara falls and came here for a dinner with family due to excellent reviews. One of the best decision i've ever made. :-) The food was GREAT with reasonable prices. The waitress was also very helpful. Will come back again in the future to try other menus! Don't forget to make reservation.. we saw people had waited for over an hour to be seated due to busy weekend.
Excellent service and a fantastic atmosphere!!! The Wild Game Burger today was kangaroo and it was exceptionally delicious!!! Keep up the excellent job!!!
Huge portions, great beer selection (and nice and cold), friendly bartenders providing excellent service. Oh and most importantly, the food tasted good! What more can you ask for? I m glad I stopped in here on my way back to Buffalo!
We just had our first encounter with The Griffon and my goodness. The food was amazing and our server Jordan was a hoot. Can't wait to have my leftovers and to return next time we are in town.
Consistently amazed in all categories! I tried several different appetizers, entries, and beers. I thoroughly enjoyed every single bit and sip every single time! I sat at the bar each time and every bartender was very attentive and engaging. This is a must visit if your in the area
Have loved this place for years, but went just the other day and there were flies all over the place when we sat inside to eat. Kind of makes you lose your appetite. The foods never been bad, but they really need to fix that, it's disgusting. And I sat at a booth near the front, but there definitely was no social distancing at the bar area. Probably won't be back.
A British type pub with really good food. Menu is not what I expected, pub food with imaginative twists, delicious Beef on WECK sandwich. Their homemade pickles are some of the best I've ever had. Great staff too.
Love the atmosphere. A bit loud but definitely a fun night out. Delicious food! Highly recommend the loaded potato soup! Beers are ridiculously cheap and many to choose from! We live in Massachusetts and which there was one closer to us because we would be regulars!
