Beautiful hotel, large clean rooms and great service
good service. spacious rooms but a bit old. breakfast with a wide selection. gluten free option.
Not like it used to be like - very poor internet service old rooms
We've been to this hotel on the beginning of September 2018. We didn't like it:
The shower was bad. We couldn't get the right temperature and the toilet room became flooded with water.
The elevator system was a labirinth, to get from the parking to our room required two different elevators, with the hotel card, which we only got later.
No socket for a shaving machine.
3 times we couldn't enter our room, and I had to run to the reception desk',to get new magnetic cards.
What a wonderful hotel. Close to temple bar, a popular pub. This localisodo in central location.
Was there to relax and have a coffee in the hotel bar. Coffee ok, nice place. I almost had to beg for being noticed by a waiter though.
Very solid hotel with friendly staff, large rooms. No pool on premise, gym a little damp but not too busy -- free weights, a few machines, bike, treadmill, etc. Rooms were a bit dated but overall a quiet, enjoyable stay.
The Hotel was really cool place and the service was great !!
We stayed a week in April 2016. The staff, dining, and service were impeccable. There is remodeling in progress, so expect some noise during the weekday times but this hotel has all the charm you're looking for. Zero traffic noise, a parking garage, and a few minutes from the heart of all that is Dublin. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
It is an emblematic hotel in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Located in the heart of the city, it allows the newcomer to move very comfortably at any time. Both the facade and the reception are very stately and the attention of the staff is excellent despite the intense tourist movement. As for the rooms, they are spacious, comfortable and very pleasant. The address is 23, UPPER O 'CONNELL STREET.
Just to admire the ceiling of the lobby. Very nice home.
Fantastic hotel . Really superb welcome from guys at the door . Great check in . We were a little early so they took our bags while we went out . Rooms are warm clean and comfortable. Shower is really nice . The breakfast was fantastic. Loads of options and really tasty.. but best of all is the location it's right on the door step of all pubs shops etc .. I will definitely come here again . Really impressed .. 10/10 .
Recommended hotel, acceptable buffet and great beds.
Lazy service here with six staff with hands in their pockets I'm told that they have no glasses to make an Irish coffee then change the story to say they simply don't bother on busy days. This iconic venue should be ashamed to use the word hospitality more like hostile is appropriate.
Had an excellent stay...the staff all polite friendly and very helpful...rooms clean and comfortable...we will stay again..
Fantastic hotel . Great location . Very helpful staff first time in Dublin would definitely return to this hotel. Highly recommend.
Beautiful food. Lovely friendly staff.and rooms spotless
Located in the heart of Dublin, location location location! Just a min away from the "needle", I mean literally. Great hotel other than the house itself feels a bit outdated. Feel WiFi included, although it could be slow at time. Highly recommended.
Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast offerings, at the heart of Dublin center.
Very nice excellent breakfast and service .. Central location
Good middle class hotel, full Irish breakfast, rooms clean
Used to be the fanciest place in Dublin in its hey day...But still a solid hotel
Lovely hotel, very grand! Got a free upgrade for my hubby's birthday. Lovely breakfast, great location too.
Amazing Hotel. Great staff.. So close to everything. I would recommend it.
Only thing is There was no lift to the 1 st floor. So if u are in a wheelchair you could not access it
We regularly stay at this hotel throughout the year/years. We like it because of its locality, great food, hotel staff and room comfort. We order breakfast and evening meal each time we stay there.
Lovely bar. Good wine selection and nice atmosphere
WARNING: THIS HOTEL ENFORCES A MANDATORY FACE-MASK POLICY. Any business that denies us CHOICE will never have our money. Staying just around the corner at Jury's Inn. 500
Very central location but not a great stay. Initially we were given the wrong room. We were woken by some kind of alarm at 5 in the morning, then again at 7 by someone hammering something into a wall nearby, and then again at 10 by housekeeping. The breakfast was very good though but didn't make up for the rough night. Reception staff weren't particularly interested when we told them about any of the noise.
I've only dined here which was mostly fine but speed of service varies greatly from day to day
My wife's mood improved as we stayed at Dublin's Gresham Hotel (which is considered to be the top in Ireland). Watching the ladies at the five o'clock tea in the lounge alone was a special treat.
The writers lounge was stylish with charm.Friendly staff and relaxing lounge on the ground floor with drinks, snacks and teas.Croatian Staff was a bit too much over the edge of hospitality. Bringing us bill when we didnt ask and wanted to sit more and communicate
Reception was very smart and we were quickly dealt with booking in. The room was very smart and really well equipped. We didn't use the restaurant as the area is really good for other bars and restaurants. Will recommend and would look to book there again in the future.
Fabulous hotel a few minutes away from all the hustle and bustle of Dublin City nightlife. Excellent breakfast load of choice . Evening meal in Toddy s brassiere was good value for the very generous portions. The sharing Antipasto is highly recommended, it s set for 2 but plenty for 4 sharing
Got a beautiful room overlooking O'Connell street. Staff very nice. Stayed on a Tuesday night. Very busy. Only low point was the breakfast. For this class of hotel it needs a bit of a revamp
Food was amazing but after that everything was a let down the room we stayed in was cold and there was a smell in it when3we complained got nowhere
Love the hotel always have it looks great excellent service and staff
Great location, but very noisy at night even with windows closed.
Hotel itself is old style, very "grand" in comparison to modern hotels, which is obvious from the spectacular reception, rooms were of the same style but very comfortable.
However, the greatest part of our visit to Dublin let alone our stay in the hotel, was the amazing character that is Vlad (the night manager).
He kept us up to the small hours with fantastic stories and he was a pleasure to chat with with.
Big ups Vlad! Would stay again just to chat with him.
Below average. Goods location but the shower dripped like warm water only. Rooms not spectacular. One to avoid I would suggest.
Fantastic!
Location slightly off-center (almost opposite the post office), but with all the services available.
Very friendly staff.
Breakfast is rich and abundant (international and not).
The clean and welcoming room.
Good room. Clean and nice everywhere. Wonderful breakfast with very wonderful and helpful staff.
Really good place! High quality attention, installation!! Business or pleasure, this is your place!
The hotel in general was very nice. Staff were also very pleasant. I felt that i was totally shafted with my stay. I had the Deluxe Queen bedroom but quite frankly it was only fit for a single bed. Extremely disappointing. I will only go back if I could stay in a room which is bigger. Can't stress how dissapointing it was. You can see by the photo I took that there is no room at all to walk between bed and wall
Nice period hotel in the centre of Dublin, ample breakfast (much cheaper if you book it the night before) rooms are clean and spacious but the bathrooms are a little dated
Some details not up to the 4 stars. But a stone's throw from the center
Very comfortable, great location. Breakfast buffet included.
The staff was extremely helpful with several requests and helping find restaurants for the night. The room was clean and well stocked for our two night stay.
Although the place is clean, after having many homeless people stay there the beds be walking with all sorts of bugs, I'd never go there again
First place that we stayed on our trip around Ireland. Place feels current and upbeat. The breakfast buffet had an amazing assortment. The ceiling in the main floor was beautiful. Our room was cozy and the housekeeping was awesome.
Nice hotel but the staff could learn a lot about customer service.
Very good location, just a short minute walk to plenty of great pubs / bars. The staffs at the reception are all very friendly (to me, service is no. 1). Love all the decoration in the lobby (very elegant). Regarding the room we stayed in, it was spacious and clean. However, the lighting in the room was very dim. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
Old rooms and bathrooms, ugly view, restaurant: unfriendly staff, too expensive for what they offer. Only plus: good location and at least it is clean.
They have done a good job in here compared to when I used to come here a long time ago. Nice gin!
Afternoon tea was lovely out waitress was brilliant however the tuna steak was overcooked and served with black olives and green beans horrible taste not 4 star quality at all atmosphere was relaxing
Old hotel looks great after refit, the reception area art and ceiling. Worth a visit for these alone!
Great location, smart rooms and very professional and approachable staff. Food was amazing. Would definitely stay again
Beautiful a bit expensive at 6=50 a pint, but u pay for comfort.
What a fab hotel, the place was palacial and friendly and ultra clean. The bar stayed open until the sun came up and they treated us like kings .
This is a very nice hotel. It is on Dublin's O'Connell Street right in the city centre.
Great hotel. Walking distance to most things. Friendly staff and nice rooms with comfortable beds. Definitely would stay here again.
Just got picked up outside for a tour of Western Ireland. Seemed like a nice place though.
Nice place , not so far from temple bar and shopping's area. Clean and comfortable at the right price
Had a recent long weekend at the riu Dublin,,, wow,, absolutely brilliant, the hotel was spotless,, the food was amazing., the staff were all professional but friendly and made us feel very welcome during our stay, nothing was too much for anyone, the hospitality in this hotel was the best by far, would highly recommend, and will definitely be revisiting. Perfect location for all Dublin attractions and 5min walk to temple bar.. Thankyou so much to all
The location is convenient and comfortable
There are plenty of shared spaces such as the lobby.
There is a gym though it is small.
There is a kettle pot in the room. There is a hairdryer and bathtub. No conditioner. There is WIFI. There is a trouser press. There is shoe shine on the side of the elevator. Ice service Located on each floor. There is a business center.
It was quite comfortable.
2017.4
Very good! Breakfast.sensational, very attentive staff, I must mention Mrs. Alexandra in reception and professionalism. Remarkable what is centrally located
Very nice hotel in dublin. Friendly staff and nice rooms and breakfast
Nice location. The room was ok, but cleaning could have been better. Continental breakfast with a variety of food and drink, cava as well. Heavy traffic outside. We had room on the back side, so we had little nois.
The Gresham hotel has been a 5 star experience.
In the post Coronavirus world we live in now, I have felt so safe while staying here.
While things have changed within the hospitality sector, with the implementation of new procedures, this hotel has still held onto the Irish welcome.
The staff have been amazing, the service is still to a high standard, but it is also great to see the hotel upholding the new regulations.
Wearing masks in communal areas and the use of disposable gloves for breakfast has been great.
Thank you to the staff of the hotel for a great stay and for your kindness.
Would highly reccomend staying here.
Service very bad give in 50 euro for a drink had to go back up to get my change because I had wait till the bar man took for it
