We are regulars at alot of the local places on the Island to eat ,drink and support Local establishments. Today was not a good review for this establishment, i get the busyness of the morning rush but the worst cutomer service i have seen in a place that thrives off of its patrons to stay open. Sorry guys you get 1 star today only because you said thank you after the 30 min wait to place and order and then tell us you couldnt make the special on the board because your waffle iron is on the Fritz. Good luck with improvements .

The food is delicious Excellent customer service from Geno and the rest of the staff! Recommendations are on point!!!

Best place on the island for sure. We came for breakfast and lunch.

Great experience!! I believe our waiters name was Marcus. Great service from him he even took time to speak to the kids and joke with them. The owner stopped by our table and spoke w/us briefly. The food was great, I regret not trying any of the specialty blends coffees. But we plan on being back this summer.

I went here for breakfast, and was not disappointed! The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly, and my coffee cup was never empty. I will definitely be back.

My wife picked a really good dish, I wish I could've said the same for my order. When i ordered the Cheesy Shrimp and Grits they were not cheesy at all and the grits were wayyy too watery. The Egg Benedict with the Barbacoa and Chorizo was a really good combination surprisingly but the avocado cream they put on the side was a brown, mushy mess. I d skip it.

Edit: In response to owner. I understand, it could've been the size of the restaurant that felt a bit "too close for comfort" but it had no bearing on my food experience. That being said this was my first visit and I understand there is human elements that affect how food is made sometimes, especially considering how busy you guys were (which added my reluctance to return my food). I'll adjust my review since you did reach out and I will return in the future you give you guys another chance. I do enjoy supporting businesses in these crazy times.

Second time ive eaten breakfast here. The service was slow which I understand happens sometimes in the restaurant business. Usually when you have 2 of the 4 plates sent back for being cold it's wise for a manager to go speak to a table. The breakfast is typical of any ihop or dennys that you would visit. The decor of the place is very nice and relaxing compared to many places ive been to. Focus on retraining your staff and better customer service and this place could go along way.

We were looking for vegan options. You have to specify no cheese on a couple of the many vegetarian options. No substitute for all the egg menu items though. Not much to offer for vegans. Getting the portabella mushroom burger and the black bean salsa and chips.

Delicious little cafe. Excellent service. Food was so good that we actually ate here 3 times during our trip. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. Huevos Rancheros Vallarta is amazing, but the salsa was a little hot for me.The big breakfast burrito is enough to feed two people - you choose its contents. The crab cakes benedict are divine!! I had that on day one, and was so good, my husband ordered them the next day. Waitresses Edith and Brenda are super and helpful in deciding what to choose :)

The food was great! I had the egg and ranchero plate and it was spicy , which made it so much better. The homemade tortillas were so big, great for a bean and cheese taco! Breakfast time was packed so plan accordingly when you go. The wait for the food and service was fine. There are many coffees to choose from but we hardly drink coffee

My wife, baby daughter and I went to GC three days straight. Seems like one of the only non corporate chains in town. The food is excellent and the peeps are friendly, although a little short staffed. Shot out to Juan and Gino, thanks for taking good care of us! Gino. your energy and enthusiasm lights the place up, never loose that brotha!!

Awesome little cafe that everyone must go to at some point during your stay. The fish tacos were well seasoned and the slaw on top was to die for. I really liked their twist on enchiladas by adding crab meat. Wait staff was friendly and prompt with service.

I was brought here by the reviews for breakfast. Cafe Latte caramel was perfect and so was our waiter. Chicken and waffles was not the best though. I think it was pan fried. The oatmeal was watery too. Outdoor seating was not great. I was offered a fan though, but didn't get one.

We had an overall great meal at Grapevine! We were seated immediately, even though they had a pretty full house. The mimosas were amazing with the freshly squeezed orange juice. The salsa that came with our chips and salsa was very hot (temperature wise) and almost tasted more like a stew, not much flavor other than tomato flavor. The huevos rancheros vallartas were delicious though!!! Would definitely recommend!

Cute restaurant with farm fresh and healthy options. Came here after sunrise beach yoga and enjoyed a delicious iced coffe. Creme caramel iced coffee with lactose free milk. :). I ve come here before && it gets very busy from about 9-11am, but today at 7:30 it s the perfect amount of people. Quick and friendly service!

Poor service, good food. Sat down fairly quickly but waited 20 minutes for our drink orders to be taken after being seated. Of note, they were not terribly busy. While waiting for our drink orders to be taken we observed a waitress looking at us with a perplexed facial expression from behind the counter at least twice until she finally came to take the orders at the 20 minute mark. She never returned until it was time for the check as someone.else.brought the drinks out to us approximately 10-15 after they were taken. Our drinks were refilled once by a busser/helper after our meal was long gone. I did observe another male waiter who was attentive to his tables, unfortunately he was not our server. Despite the poor service, the food was pretty good.

One of the few places on this island that is actually good and deserving of the positive reviews. We come to SPI 2-3 times a year for probably the last 5 years or so and I think by now we've tried most places. Unfortunately we didn't get around to trying Grapevine Cafe until out last visit here a about a month ago. It will be our new brunch spot from now on. Coffee delicious, food is great, and once you're used to the other places on the island charging 12 dollars per plate for mediocre food, I'm always pleasantly surprised when my ticket comes out and it's reasonable. We've tried a number of dished here, Rancheros Vallartas, Migas, Chilaquilles, Grapevine Breakfast sandwich, it's all been delicious. Picky kids are always happy here too.

Now that we've tried just about everything here and being mostly disappointed, from now on Grapevine and Cap'n Roys will be getting all of our business on future trips. Everything else has been overrated and overpriced.

I loved that I could have my dog with me at the tables outside and we still had a waiter. I had the veggie omelette which was fresh but not particularly flavorful. I gave 3 stars because my dish was forgotten and our waiter took awhile to come back out to us and take our drink order and even longer to bring it. I was pleased that the manager did compensate for this though and I would definitely come back. My friend had the chilaquiles and said it was one of the best she's had with spice cooked into it. Mimosas were delicious!

Waited 45 minutes for food on a Tuesday. Other tables were clearly frustrated at their wait as well. Once it arrived, the food was OK and the portions were large. Place was mostly empty when we finished, but still our plates sat on the table and no bill arrived. We eventually had to go stand up and get ready to leave before someone came back. YIKES.

Side note: GET A CHANGE TABLE. We walked with our baby, and after the horrible wait - she needed a change. No change table in the bathroom, and when we asked if they had somewhere else we could change her, we got a quick "nope, sorry" from the server. I guess she expected us to change her outside in the rain?

We won't be going back.

The tacos are HUGE. The frappes are better than starbucks in my opinion if not equal. Huevos rancheros are very scrumptious. My man loved his chicken & waffles. Great atmosphere and very good customer service. Highly recommend this place. Get there early or you'll be waiting quite some time. Very popular place on the island.

Excellent choice this morning for breakfast. I was able to sub a delicious GF bun on Eggs Benedict Florentine. It speaks well of a place when they make their hollandaise without resorting to flour. They accommodated both of our expresso requests that weren t on the menu (although standards in other parts of the country and world). Their standard 2 egg breakfast was outstanding as well. Combined wirh great staff, this was a highlight of our cross country road trip.

Huevos Rancheros Benedictos was delicious. My husband had a large taco. That was very good as well. Tortillas are great! Service was great. David our waiter did an awesome job. All employees were on top of their game! Will definitely be back before we leave! Great food, good prices!

We had a cookie that was homemade. It was the best health cookie I have ever eaten
I had black coffee. It was strong. My wife had a sweet iced coffee it was strong and sweet. Chicken and waffles. Like woth most places they give you too much waffle. Unlike most places the chicken is the roght amount of salty to compliment the sweetness of the syrup. We also had the salmon Benedict. Very well done. The spinach was cooked well. The salmon is not overcooked, but well done, and the egg was even poached to a perfect medium.

Food came out at separate times and some cold. Otherwise fresh shrimp in the shrimp omlet and fresh fish in the fish tacos. The pancake was exciting and more than enough to fill a kids belly. Will come back next time.

My husband and i were staying on the island and the picture of the cinnamon roll on this site made me want to go get one!
The coffee shop is modern and they roast their own beans. The Cinnamon roll was pretty good too. But being in the Valley, it isn t a typical coffee bar because they also cater to the huge Mexican clientele here. Both the coffee and the roll hit the spot but what they do best is service . We came in right after a rush. We actually had to wait for parking. Once we got inside it was packed but a table was just being cleaned and we were seated and quickly attended to.
What I enjoyed was watching the staff. Particularly the two young men (Sunday morning about 11:30am). They were fast and friendly and from behind the coffee bar greeted everyone that came in and thanked everyone that left. I saw several customers light up as they were leaving because basic manners and greetings are hard to find today. Well done young men!

It s very typically something you d see in the RGV but if you re visiting from up north, just don t expect a typical coffee bar. It s a coffee bar/ American Mexican restaurant. While it s very cool in that it fits the Valley, the downside is that it isn t stellar in the coffee arena because it caters to all kinds of customers and not just focused on coffee. I enjoy it though and would go back.

My family has been visiting the Grapevine for years because the food and service is the best on the island.I realized we had a minor issue with the ticket after returning home. I called the restaurant and was put in touch with Adam who I believe is the afternoon/night manager. Adam was the most professional person I have dealt with in a long time. I explained the problem , he listened and took care of it. THAT is how it's done. You have no idea how many people I refer to Grapevine and I am not one to make referrals lightly. Keep up the good work Grapevine SPI!!!!

OMG! For once the reviews were accurate. Not only was the staff very friendly and efficient, the food was FANTASTIC! My daughter ordered the French toast with strawberries, baboon, and eggs while my husband and I ordered the Grapevine breakfast sandwich with eggs (any way you like) with spinach, tomato, ham, basil pesto on a huge croissant, with a side of hash browns. I was worried about the pesto but it made it amazingly delicious! Seriously, this was the best place of any restaurant I've been to anywhere in recent history! Oh, and they were great at social distancing with an iPad outside at the front entrance to add your name to the waitlist (they'll text you when a table is ready so you can wait in your air-conditioned car) and there is a stand with a QR code you can scan to review the menu while waiting. Again, you MUST go for breakfast, but I'm sure EVERYTHING else is just as scrumptious!

This is a great place to eat. They have good service, great food. Tortillas are homemade. The place was crowded but set within 10 minutes of arrival. We got our food pretty fast even though it was busy. I strongly recommend it.

Went in one time the service was a slow, food not all that great but what really did it was when a young lady was wrapping silverware, went to the restroom and came back out and started wrapping again, I went into the restroom and then realized that only their cold water worked in the restroom. Never went back!

Foods decent. The wait was 25 min. But Micah waited cause we were late. Good coffee bar, waffle really good. Chicken was small but tasty but 5$ add on. Issue was the cinnamon roll for 2 was a Pillsbury roll. You can tell. And not home made.

All together decent place. But I won t go back. I m next to the boarder. I want mex-mex!!!

I understand they were busy what I didn't understand was how people that were getting there after we'd been there for a good 10 to 15 minutes were getting their drinks and we hadn't even been asked what kind of drinks we wanted, after she took our order it took another 10 to 15 minutes to get our drinks. When we finally got our food hashbrowns were watery and still a bit raw, my daughter and my husband ordered the shrimp omelet and both got sick with upset stomach and vomiting. My husband asked for water refills twice and ended up having to get up and go get it himself but another waitress saw him and said she would get it for him. At the end my husband asked to speak to manager because they charged gratuity for 3 adults and 2 kids which normally we wouldn't have had a problem but after that service, I'm sorry. Manager apologized and agreed to remove the gratuity.

Got there at about 10:50 didn t get seated till almost 11:40, when we finally got seated the place can only hold about 60 people mind you with about 4-5 waiters you would expect fast service but no took about 10 minutes to get me an orange juice that looked like it was in a kids cup and the waiter didn t even bother to ask me for a refill even though I finished a minute after he brought it to me then came the food, I order a sandwich that was supposed to come on a croissants and after about 25 minutes of waiting the waiter comes to tell me there were no more croissants so it would be on Texas toast the only reason I wanted the sandwich is because it was on a croissant so when I asked to change my order he told me it was already out well he still didn t bring me it for another 5 minutes meanwhile everybody in the restaurant was getting served even the people who got there after me when it finally came I got what looked like the bottom pan scraps of what was supposed to be a hash brown that they squeezed together so it looked like one whole hash brown and a decent sandwich however 10 bucks is severely overpriced for the okay sandwich and burnt hash brown ends, all in all slow, bad service overhyped and overpriced food and the best part was the coffee which was getting praise all over the website but it was also just okay.
