The Grapevine Cafe Review

I expected more based on the reviews. I ordered the eggs benedict but the Hollandaise sauce was very strange, it looked more like egg yolk and the eggs were poached hard. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

Best breakfast on the whole island! Fresh coffee beans imported from around the world with any great cup of coffee you can imagine. Delicious food, fantastic service, and the hospitality is superb! You ll be glad you came here!

Big Tacos. Their own coffee. just awesome!!! we love this place and visit every time we are at South Padre.

An amazing experience! As I travel around the beautiful USA I qualify locations based on their coffee shops and this one is a MUST visit! The coffee was deliciously made and our breakfast was awesome! Very authentic chilaquiles complete with a very generous portion. The manager, Gino, was very accommodating and the customer service was impeccable.

Excellent spot for breakfast but the parking is a little slice of hell but it's worth it

Very nice homey, diner feel to it. Friendly staff. Fresh food. Great tasting coffee! And budget friendly. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be coming back.

Food was Great. We ate Everything and that s very uncommon. Service was great. Prices even better. Best pancakes I ve had in a while and my husband said The rancheros and salsa was great! We will be back for other options during our vacation for sure. Nice place if I could give it 10 stars I would.

Service was poor. Food lame. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, hasbrowns, bacon, toast. I got 3 eggs, grits, raw hash browns, overcooked bacon and bread not toast. Took forever to the check to leave.

This place has it ALL!!! The food is fresh, creative and out of this world. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, close to the beach. But, the best of all is the service and people. Irazu treated us with warmth and awesome service. A must visit!

This place is a TRUE GEM!! Service was fabulous and the food was excellent! The only con I can come up with was that coffee menu was hiding and I ordered the regular coffee not knowing there were so many choices!! That said, the regular coffee was incredible and all the more reason to come back and try whatever else they offer!! Love it and will be back!!!

Csppuccino was good...thr breakfast was nothing special! It wAs really cold inside. Maybe not the place you wNna be for a nice breakfast.

Great food and good coffee!

The Mexican breakfast options were outstanding, choices from north of the border were also great. The coffee was my favorite part, there was a good selection of single origin coffees and blends roasted in house. My espresso was well prepared, the beans were not over roasted like so many places, it had great flavor.

The staff were top notch! Thanks guys and gals!

Food was good. Kids had the biscuits & gravy. Chocolate strawberry waffle. Wife had eggs Benedict with was the best. I had the Mexican plate. I had to ask about our food since it took so long to come out. When I got it they gave me chicken tacos instead of beef. So service was a little off but food was good.

Friendly people, great coffee. Incredible value. Got a small skillet with loaded hash and avo for $5.00. Make this your breakfast spot!

Love love love Grapevine! My only issue is that they didn't get my order quite right at first. I ordered gluten free and they gave me the regular version. I caught it before I ate it, fortunately, but it's definitely important to get allergy requests right the first time!

We went today, a bit of a wait (30 ish minutes) but the staff was very on top of cleaning and seating big parties so it wasn't too bad!
Hope was our server, amazingly fast service and a kick in the pants! She got every thing we asked for like we were timing her! Gold medal!
If you read the menu while waiting and have it ready you will get your meal in a snap!
The pricing was super affordable! eggs Benedict for 9 and chicken and waffles for 10!

Cozy restaurant with a great breakfast and lunch menu. Hit this place early, it gets BUSY, but the food and coffee is worth the wait!

BEST PLACE ON THE ISLAND because they are the ONLY place offering a fantastic. COOKED VEGAN ENTREE! My omnivore dh loves it for the breakfast they serve all day.

Good food and coffee but service was lacking and very disorganised, we waited 40 minutes and still had members of our group that didn't receive their drink. One of my friends ordered a cookie to be warmed up, waited 30 minutes, had to ask, and he finally got his cookie - only to not have it warm. Willing to try it again sometime.

What an incredible experience. Melissa makes a MEAN coffee my gosh it almost brought me to tears. Bacon was AMAZING and the loaded hash browns were great too. If you were on the fence get off it- just know this is not the place to go if you only have 15 minutes- this is the place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and great coffee

Went there today for my husband s birthday breakfast and the place did not disappoint. Gino was our server, and man did he rock it. Everyone was very attentive and friendly. The food was awesome. My husband had the traditional breakfast and loved it. I ordered the huevos rancheros benedictos and they were delicious. Avocado mash, barbacoa-chorizo patty, slightly spicy hollandaise, it was very delicious. The Mimosa were awesome, too. Check this place out, you won t be disappointed.

I always enjoy my visit to Grapevine. The food is fantastic. I would recommend their waffles and their freshly squeezed orange juice.

What an amazing little place this is!!! The coffee was wonderful!!! Very tasty and made quick. Loved it and wish I could pack the store up with me to take it home!!

Arrived as they opened the door and they start off with excellent service. This is a must have for breakfast with great food and coffee.

The food and server were great...BUT...I they have issues with service dogs (SD). I have a medical condition requiring a SD. The moment we walked in the door the owner almost charged us at the door. She asked if he was a SD then inquired where his vest was. I pointed out a large tag on his collar with his SD certification and said it's too hot here for a vest. She glared at us a moment then proceeded to sit us way away from other diners. My dog is clean . Well groomed and very well behaved
He laid under the table our entire meal. Another couple stopped by to thank us for not leaving. This place should take lessons from Josephine's who welcomed us completely and let us choose seating. The owner even brought him water . We won't be back.

We have yet to stop by and try the breakfast, & it will be soon: We had some coffee, Vanilla Latte, Chai Latte: Best expierence; Very knowledge and welcoming experience.
My Family and I just moved to the Island, This is definitely a place where i will be taking out of town guests.

Probably the best meal we've ever had on SPI. The food here is excellent. Salsas are fantastic. Service is even better. Stephen is the best.

This place has amazing chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. The coffee is the best! If you don't try the banana nut French toast, there is something wrong with you. The only hiccup is that they take a long time to make your food. I recommend going with people you would like to have conversation with.

This place is amazing. Everything you read in the reviews is true. Ordered the pork belly tacos with pineapple along with avocado and pickled onions. So delicious. Our server and all the staff 100% excellent customer service. Super friendly. Highly recommend everyone who comes to the island to stop by. Not to mention best fresh coffee on the island.

We stopped in for a late lunch of cheesy grits & shrimp and a blt. Yummy!

Disappointing - showed up today at 10AM and signed up for a 10-20 minute waitlist, waited an hour outside to be texted and 3 hours later still no call/text

We wasted an hour of our morning waiting outside on their bench, we left to eat somewhere else.

No water while you wait, no staff to reassure you of your place in line and no service whatsoever

Also as a side note - I m 100% sure my correct number was in the system, I received a text confirmation

Ate breakfast here twice this week....SO good. Our family tried Huevos Vallertas, Crab Cakes Benedict, biscuit and gravy, eggs, bacon, grits, pancakes, french toast... Everything was amazing. And the coffee is good. They said they roast in house, and the taste supported that claim... Yum! Relaxed atmosphere, friendly people...will be back!

Another great place to eat in South padre island.
The first thing the banana bread french toast on pic ! That alone with coffee it's a meal if you like they cook on a flat top like a French Toast.
2nd item was the loaded potatoes with eggs on top wow ! That will get your day started for the beach.

Breakfast was delicious we wanted to go back the next day but it was closed due to the damage from the storm. Definitely recommend this place.

The hasbrowns taste horrible.... the prices are insane.... and in top of everything they over charge the tip... they add the tip on the bill.... horrible....

Fun, cute and eclectic atmosphere. Food was good, with Mexican flair on just about everything (even if it doesn t say so on the menu). Service was good but they were busy so we had to get their attention a couple of times. Overall, it was a good experience.

This place has so many gluten free options!! My husband ordered the GF pancakes and we even had the waitress send them back to the kitchen to double check they were actually gluten free, because they were so fluffy and unlike any GF pancakes we had tasted! If you are in the area, you should definitely check this place out!

The food was good. The mimosas were great. But nothing can justify waiting over an hour for two breakfast plates. Our baby was growing inpatient, as expected. So once our food finally came out we were forced to rush and eat. There were no additional measures taken to make sure that we left as satisfied customers, though our waitress was very kind and apologetic. In my opinion, it just isn't worth it. We are on a trip with very limited time. This took a significant amount of time out of our day.

Horrible service, and staff did not bring our toast out. Asked for the toast twice and they just shrugged us off. Servers were not concerned to come by except to drop our food off. Do not eat here.

They do not practice social distancing , using metal utensils instead of disposable. We are in a pandemic!! My mom was like 2 feet from the Person at the next table. they might as well sat us all together. I ordered Pancakes, they were hard and dry. My daughter ordered fajitas and they were cut up in chunks and were tough. Wait staff was very friendly, the only good thing about this restaurant. Won t be going back.

My husband and I were here on our honeymoon and the breakfast was delicious! The pricing is fair and the waffle and chicken was enough for us to share. We also had a cinnamon roll for dessert and it was yummy! Would definitely recommend this place.

The only thing that out shines the food is the atmosphere. It appears the locals love this place and if I lived here, it would be a weekly stop. Don't come to town and not eat breakfast here.

This is one of our favorite places for brunch on the island. Love the fact that they offer organic eggs as well as a gluten free menu! My hubby loves the salmon benedict. I enjoy the gluten free pancakes with bananas along with meat and hashbrowns.

The freshly roasted coffee is excellent. It's worth visiting this busy cafe for the coffee alone. They do a pretty good breakfast too. I had the Migas Mexicanas. Very tasty. My only complaint is that the side of frijoles was cold.
