Very nice place exclusive,,... Just had to get up twice for nampkins and a plate to go,,...should check up every 5-7 minutes or so,, stay focused on there customers just a little more,,... But will i come back yes food very nice served and delicious

Went there for breakfast Sunday morning 8/26/2018, walked in at 9:50 and didn t even get a water until 10:50. I understand being busy but this was ridiculous. It was only two of us and another couple was seated after us (maybe a different section? it was literally one table away from us), ordered, ate, and left before we even got our drinks.

I d assume the guy was the manager who asked us what we wanted to drink when we sat down. He shouted our order to another waiter and we never got the drinks from him. After 20 more minutes we finally spoke to our waiter who proceeded to have us yell our order to him from our table while he stood by the register all while helping 3 other tables in the same manner.

Food finally came (an hour and a half after arriving) and they forgot part of my order, a waffle. When I asked for the bill I saw that I was still charged for it and the waiter insisted instead of removing it from the bill he d bring it out. I got a cold soggy nasty waffle.

Service was bad. Wait time was atrocious. The food was mediocre at best. I m not usually one to criticize but this was ridiculous. I have no idea why this place is so highly rated but I really wish we had just eaten the continental breakfast at the hotel.

We ate breakfast here earlier last week. Wonderful food! My spouse loved the Skinny Omelette, and I really enjoyed the Huevis Rancheros Vallartas. We split a delicious green smoothie too. They were busy-still a relaxing ambiance. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

Excellent food and fast friendly Awesome Workers... NEVER DISAPOINTED... Now if I could just get a TSHIRT out of em... Lol

We came down for a family trip me and my family visit this breakfast spot Sunday morning we all order different things my mom order a omelet that look like one spinach in the inside with half cook pototatoes she tould the waitress that she didn't want it she call the manager the manager still question my mom why she didn't want it my mom said she didn't want it then my mom order eggs and pototes when she got the the food it wasn't right again I order pancakes and egg and pototoes it was good at all everything was bland when it was time to check out they took off my mom first meal but the second meal that she only took two bites they charge her $10 still which was not right at all the waitress charge me for 2 eggs but I didn't have two eggs . Also after we left not just me but half of the table was sick and was in the restroom for most of the day if it's a family trip and you want great breafast please don't go ! Waitress was nice but the food was awful and how they handle the suit ion was not great at all

They are open! Food was amazing! Also had a mimosa which was good as well! Would recommend coming here! Waiter name was big c and he was fabulous also! Worth the wait!

Do not order biscuits and gravy. They add 18% on 5 or more. Do not give you what menu says. Example brown sugar with oatmeal or sour cream with quesadillas Taco with meat only . Server was nice

Came here on our vacation for our marriage anniversary. Can I just say it was superb!! Very delicious and service was just great, loved everything and so did our guests that came with us. Everything tasted as great as a five star chef being in the kitchen. Just wonderful thanks Grapevine Cafe!!!

Great staff, friendly. Had fast seating, fast food and it was great. Coffee was very good and waitress was so friendly. Bathroom super tiny but clean. Family enviroment clean and comfortable. Parking is a litte tight. Prices are resonable and serving sizes are fair. Loved it look foward to stoping by again.

Place was Super packed; but service didnt slow down. Super huge Tacos were good. Good eating in South Padre!!

Great place, awesome staff. I have a lot of allergies and GERD and the manager really knew how their food worked. They made accommodations for my restrictions and I was able to enjoy my breakfast without any bad reactions. (This is rare in a slow food restaurant for me). Thanks to the staff for being very patient with me and understanding. Not once did I feel like a bother going though the various menu options and accommodations with them.

Great selection of coffees and coffee drinks. They also have a variety of breakfast and lunch food including seasonal farmer market menu.

It takes about 3 to 5 minutes to be seated. Once they get your drink order it takes them another 3 to 5 minutes to get your drinks brought out and your order taken . And about 15 minutes if not longer to get your food brought out. I had the cinnamon apple pancakes which I would not recommend. The pancakes were very grainy. Also had a side of hash with eggs it was a bit bland but ok. The chilaquiles were not what we expected. The coffe was great , the Carmel latte and mimosa were great too.

This is really the best restaurant for breakfast on the island. We were here three nights, and had breakfast here three mornings... Significant menu diversity means that you can eat something different every day and feel like you visited three different restaurants. The quality of the food is incredible. The reason I cannot give five stars is because service was always slow. Had to get up one time just to get a coffee refill. And it's really not that big of a restaurant so you would imagine that service would be a little bit quicker. However, it really did not turn us off to make us want to choose another place. You can sweat your tail off at the palms for breakfast (no thanks), or eat fast food (also no thanks). So just choose to come here in the first place and the stress of finding a breakfast spot is no more!

The food was excellent!! Definitely will be revisiting ! Highly recommend when your out on the island. Everyone is so nice and food is just so GOOODD!!!

A friend of ours referred us to this place. It's a quaint little coffee house. I would have missed it if I was passing by. The South Padre Island strip has a lot of little out-of-the-way places that'll surprise you like this one. They have gluten free stuff, I think one truly vegetarian meal that I saw on the menu for sure, as well as some Mexican food for the the local area. After the night I had, I just wanted some regular breakfast eggs over easy, bacon, a biscuit, and hash browns. A friend of mine visiting from Austin had one of the Mexican dishes for breakfast and she said it was better and the same does she had another restaurant the day before. So I guess I have pretty good Cooks. Along with the coffee as far as desserts go, they only have frappes and smoothies but they've got several different flavors so I would imagine that's pretty decent. The Wi-Fi is free, they serve beer. I've posted a picture. And, the breakfast that I talked about with my friend and I only came out to 15 bucks. I will definitely visit this place again when I'm out here.

First time visitors, don't know why we never went considering we visit the Island every summer for the last 10yrs. Definitely will be back, service was outstanding and the food was awesome. Kids and I had different breakfast plates, all were delicious, didn't even have enough room to finish the pancakes we ordered so we took them to go. Keep up the good work!!

Was here in March & May, and would have given them 5 stars then, but it looks like they substantially shrunk the portion sizes. What was a $6 pancake (w/ two toppings) the past two visits is now half the size and feels overpriced. (seemed like a value then) Also, the chocolate chips were served on the side rather than in the pancakes in the past. At least the frappe was delicious...

This WAS our go to place for a great breakfast. The updates inside look great, however, the food quality has suffered . On a good note the coffee was good.

We loved this place . We were there every morning for breakfast while we stayed at the island. Food is excellent and service as well . On the weekends there is a wait for getting a table and even for the food , but it is worth it . My favorite was the chilaquiles with chicken.... and the coffee was really good. We were there while a few things happened with people waiting for there food and I have to say the manager handled it very well. People have to really understand that it takes time to make good food.

Excellent coffee and they roast! Was here for three days and they made the mornings much better after visiting them all three days.

Service was very slow, which honestly wouldn't have been an issue if there had been any communication from the staff about the situation. They seemed a bit disorganized and possibly understaffed. Almost 45mins into waiting for our hash browns we were really beginning to worry they had forgotten about us. The food was not bad but it wasn't anything worth that sort of wait when there are so many better choices on the island.

On my trip to S. Padre with my B.F.F. we ate here for breakfast every morning and for lunch one day! Chris, Kate, and Angel were awesome, not to mention the food! We felt welcomed like they knew us as family!

This place is the best little cafe on SPI. Their breakfast is delicious with huge portions and exquisite taste! Come for fresh brewed coffee and eat some great food!

Great place to eat breakfast/brunch. Unfortunately there is always a wait time. If you're patient it's a great place to eat.

Excellent service, friendly waiter, food was excellent. Very impressed with the owner. Now I understand why the people stay and wait even if there's a long waiting line.

In the middle of South Padre island. Grind their coffee at location. Good food and staff.

Cheap food, nice environment. Monday special breakfast sandwich was pretty flavorless though.

Food was.... Okay. My food was good (I ordered the banana nut French toast). My daughter's eggs were cold though. And my husband wasn't fond of his super sized taco of bacon and egg. There was hardly any bacon. It was mostly eggs.
Service was terrible! Our waiter hardly came by our table. We had to ask for napkins and silverware from the girl at the front bar. I'd come back for the French toast, but I'd have to come alone.

The Huevos rancheros and cafe caramel late were really good. Service was cordial, but be ready to wait to be seated, since it's a popular place. Prices are reasonable.

Normally Padre Island is known for mediocre food and atrocious service, not so here at Grapevine Cafe where other than a propensity to burn the toast (but they always get it right the second time). The service is good and the food is definitely above par with a selection that rivals breakfast where I hail from-Dallas area. Definitely one of the best places to eat for breakfast or lunch in Padre. Bon Appetite!

This is a really cool little spot to stop in and have a decent priced yummy meal. Wasn t overly priced and the food is mostly all grade A. Wish I lived closer to come more often ..

It was my first time having Cheesy grits and shrimp. Upon my return I will make sure I stop by here again.

Take a restaurant which takes good Mexican food and good American food and puts them under one roof and you have The Grapevine Cafe. My friends and I visited this establishment which has a farm/country type of feel to it on a Monday morning and it was busy but not overly so. We were greeted by a friendly and energetic man named Gino at the door who promptly seated us. We noticed Gino's energy continued when greeting other patrons who entered as well as the others seated and apparently, this is his normal friendly manner.
The menu has various breakfast choices from traditional American food such as eggs, grits, biscuits and hash browns to eggs benedict, French Toast, Bananas Foster and Belgium Waffles to choices such as omelettes, oatmeal and granola. There are also various salads, sandwiches, burgers and Mexican food such as fajitas, enchiladas and tacos.
Once the food came, the Tacos Tejanos did not disappoint as the eggs, bacon, beans and cheese were all plentiful and cooked just right...as my friend said, "If I imagine what a 2lb taco looks like, this is it!" The pancakes were delicious and had just the right amount of sweetness to them. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food as well as the attentiveness of not only our waitress but of the other staff members who stopped by to check on us.
Of particular note, our food was delayed and Bea came to us and apologized saying she had forgotten to submit the order but that it was being made as we spoke. I give her credit for owning up to her mistake and appreciated her honesty...it said a lot about her and the establishment.
Overall, the experience was wonderful and I would highly recommend this place as a stop during your visit to The Island. You will not be disappointed.

There was no anti-gun signage on the door so my suggestion is keep it concealed and enjoy a delicious meal in peace.

I came here on vacation and loved both the food and the experience! Our server, Gino, had great energy and was very attentive. I will make sure to stop here again on my next vacation to SPI.

This is my favorite place to eat breakfast! I come here every morning that I spend in South Padre. I love their Eggs Benedict and they have LOTS of coffee/frappe options.

This place is great. The food is really good because it was kind of like a Mexican- American style and it was cooked well. The service is great too. All of the servers were very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. It had a great small-town diner kind of feel which was nice because we came from a busy city. This place is 5 stars!

We loved thia place..,Great service, my husband ordered breakfast for lunch and i ordered a chicken sandwich, our son ordered and pancake...everything was delicious, they have their own coffee and also sell it....Over all a great experience....We will forsure be back..

Food was excellent. Service was amazing...Izzy our server was very attentive and sweet natured even though the restaurant was busy. Gino (on staff) who was assisting with serving and tending to the tables made a special trip to the grocery store for an avocado when they found out my huevos rancheros was served without it...have not ever had a server go out of their way like that before, ever...it was kind of him to go out of his way and it made our lunch with beach-tired kiddos very special. Would highly recommend the Grapevine Cafe we even purchased some delicious locally roasted coffee beans, which smell amazing. :-) Thank you guys - Merry Christmas
