Great coffee, great food, great service. Plenty of gluten-free options. Luis was an excellent server with a fun personality. We highly recommend the Lemon Blueberry Pancakes and Western Omelet.

Wow!! So glad I dropped in here on my last day on the island! I ordered the huevos rancheros benedictos and it was out of this world!! If you love eggs Benedict and spicy food, you gotta try this dish! The customer service was top notch too. Thanks Grapevine Cafe! I ll be back on my next trip.

Visited twice on our trip to SPI. Kassidey was our server the first day and was one of the main reasons we returned. She made an awesome Apple Cider Mimosa! Our breakfast was so good. We had a breakfast taco and banana bread french toast. Atmosphere was good, service was outstanding, what more could you want?

Stopped by for breakfast after reading some of reviews. Family had the waffles, migas, huevos racheros and the large breakfast taco. Everything was great including the salsa. We also picked up to go breakfast tacos the next day. Will definitely stop by again when at SPI. Restaurant was clean and staff were also very friendly.

Waited for 15 mins without getting a drink order and had to leave after servers were helping other tables that sat AFTER us. We were ignored and it was very rude. Wish I could have tried the food but never was given the chance

Hands down best brunch place in south padre that we could find. With gluten free options and salads, this was great for me and my fiance. Really nice staff too! Next time we visit we will come back soon! Please don't revert to the basic tiki theme! We need a break from that scene once in a while ;) See you next time!

This place is perfect! The staff is super nice and very energetic, eager to serve. Its got just about everything for breakfast and lunch. Its my go to place when I'm at SPI! Cant wait to go back.......and speaking of wait, sometimes the waiting lime is sometimes long but definitely worth the wait. Me and the wife only waited for about 10 to 15 minutes.....but you can always order a latte while you wait.

I have nothing good to say about this place. Upon arrival there was no parking. Towing enforced everywhere so no place at all to park. We ended up waiting out front for someone to leave so we could grab a spot to park. Which was a good thing because there was a 30-40 min wait. So finally I parked and joined my wife and kids inside. Checked back in with the host who put us down for 30 min to find out how much longer it would be. He said 45 minutes to an hour. I explained that we were originally told 30 to 40 minutes so will that be 15 more minutes? He said no, that was in addition to the 30-40 min we had already waited. I asked for clarification and he said they were just busy.

I understand busy but to misquote the wait time by 45min to an hour is ridiculous. I will not be back!

Worst place to eat on the island. Wife and I ordered omelets. Omelets are supposed to be fully cooked fluffy eggs, these were still runny and underdone. Wife ordered the veggie, the veggies werernt cooked well and were watery, so in combination with the runny eggs, the plate was a soppy mess. I ordered the crab meat and there was very little crab meat, tomatoes were watery. Hash browns were burnt. Service was ok but nothing was done about our complaints, nothing offered different. Awful experience

Sat at the bar top for breakfast (it was open seating). Arrived around 9:30 am and there was already a small waitlist. Friendly staff. Quick service at the bar top. Large portion sizes, that don't cost too much. Delicious food: bacon, biscuits, eggs - all yummy. In hindsight, could probably split one of the supersize tacos between two easily.

After looking at the pictures and seeing the rating we went.... Very disappointed with the restraunt.... Don't trust the photos..... The photos are fake and the portions are small.... Two breakfast and orange juices was 34 dollars..... No flavor but was not bad if ur gluten free type of people.... If your not go to pier 19 is ur best bet.... Better food and better prices.... Over looking the bay

This is a great place to have breakfast. Amazing food, great coffee, and a very nice atmosphere. Although "beachy", Grapevine Cafe differentiates itself from other restaurants on the island by still maintaining a high, classy standard rather than being a stereotypical beach-dive restaurant. I've been coming to the island for more than a decade and finally gave them a try. I'm so glad I did. I think I found my new favorite breakfast place on the island!

I got takeout from Grapevine this morning and it was SOOOO GOOD! My wife had the eggs Benedict (eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise was excellent) and I had the oversized breakfast taco.

Being from Brownsville, I'm no stranger to breakfast tacos. I'd put this one up against any tortilleria out there.

The place was slammed (always a good sign) but I was immediately taken care of. I'm just sad we didn't try this place earlier in the week.

Well done, guys!

I don't know where these 4-5 stars are coming from. Went here as a recommendation from the hotel I was staying at. I was seated in a corner with my family and forgotten. Had to get menus ourselves since other families had come in after me and been served first. Coffee was not as good as the other reviews read. Was not asked if I wanted a refill. Food was barely warm. Do not spend your money here.

Compare your bill with menu prices

Compare your bill with menu prices

We arrived for breakfast at The Grapevine Cafe, South Padre Island, Texas, at 9am on September 12, 2017, were promptly seated and provided cold water after our menus.

The 14 inch breakfast burrito taco was served timely and was huge and quite tasty. The Spanish omelette was "alright" but not much to write about.

Coffee was not particularly hot but it was tasty and the espresso packed the necessary punch. Service was impeccable.

NOTE: The delicious avocado slices were listed on the menu for two dollars flat but the actual price on the final bill was $2.29. The lady owner / manager indicated that there is a note on the menu that indicated prices are "subject to change without notice" but when I asked the location of that notice she was not able to show it. She said it should have been printed on the menu. Restrooms were clean and functional as designed.

This place totally rocks. Had one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. I had the huevo Ranchero with cheesy grits and it was fabulous. Came with three other people and they all completely enjoyed their meal. We are back today and I ordered the same thing it was that good!!! Love this place

Horrible service. We waited for awhile for someone just to take our name down. Once seated, we waited over an hour for our food to come out. The large table next to us (6+ people) ate, talked and ordered more food before we got our food. The saving Grace is the some of the food was good (the breakfast taco) but the waffle needed to be cooked more and the bacon was almost burnt. The place was kind of busy but not busy enough to take almost 1.5 hours to serve food.

Food was bland but reasonably priced, it was almost an hour between placing our order and receiving the food. Our waitress never informed us of a long wait and didn't come by or update us at any point. We waited so long we thought they had forgot us.

Went in for 2 coffees and breakfast tacos TOGO- breakfast tacos were great, but the coffee was horrible. Carmel macchiato and vanilla latte - both were very bitter and we were not able to drink them. We attempted to doctor them ourselves but were unsuccessful.

The food makes up for the lack of customer service. Upon walking in we were greeted with an empty restaurant and thought we would be sat quickly. We waited 10 minutes. Yosser was our server and he was horrible. I mean absolutely the worst service I've ever seen. We waited 15 minutes for him to take our drink order (coffee). Another 10 minutes to receive the coffee. Our food took 30 minutes. We watched other people who arrived later than us order, eat and pay before our food arrived. We had to complain (which we have never done before) to finally get our food. The people at the next table who were also being served by Yosser had to go up to the counter to get a coffee refill. We will not be returning. Food - 5 stars. Service - 1 star.
