Just a 10 minute drive from Queenstown. It was a lake view, so the view was pretty good. There is also a laundry room, which is convenient. It can be washed for 4 dollars with 2 dollar coins. (In 2019/12/27)
Access to town is difficult but not bad. There are few shuttle taxis at the hotel, but they are available.
At night, if you go to a dark starry sky, you can see the Milky Way. It's just a little cloudy and you can't see it all at once.

We were immediately impressed on arrival at the Holiday Inn with the kindness of their staff, everyone was very positive and helpful. Our room was outstanding with everything catered for, and had an amazing view. The breakfast buffet was extremely generous and yum, and the hotel is in a prime position. We stayed for 2 nights and wanted to stay longer - think we have found our new go to stay for every time we visit Queenstown!

Very pleasant place to stay for a couple of nights, includes free breakfast and plenty of parking. The waterfront view from our room was amazing. The staff is very helpful and explained everything in a professional manner.

At the time of writing this, we ve only just arrived. But the service we received as soon as we walked through the door was truly excellent.

The location itself is picturesque and the rooms are warm and comfortable. Very much looking forward to the rest of our stay this week!

We spent our last night in Queenstown here and it was very comfortable. We were also lucky to have been upgraded to a corner room with a king size bed and a single bed. Resort interiors look better now after the refurbishment. Had to wait a while for lunch at the restaurant and the food was so-so.

A quiet location away from the main town. An issue if you don't have a car. The attraction was it was advertised as lake view. Which technically you could see some of but the tables with best views we got told we could not sit there as it was only for breakfast. Entrees were very average. My steak was good but the kitchen needs to listen better to diner requests as it was not cooked to rare to medium rare. They did discount our bill when I brought it up so that was nice. Margarita pizza was great as was the rest of the food. I think if you can sit outside as the weather warms up you'd get the view you might be expecting.

Modern, comfortable hotel with excellent views of Lake Wakatipu the drop-dead-beautiful mountains (including The Remarkables). The restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast. Excellent service. Room was clean and comfortable. (It also helps that Queenstown is a place you just want to move into and stay. I hope to spend more time here next time.)

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Perfectly situated and within 5 minutes drive to the airport and 4 minutes drive the other way to Queenstown Town Centre. Amazing views, spotlessly clean room. Staff were excellent. The restaurant was impeccable, and restaurant staff were amazing. i would 100% recommend Quality Inn Frankton to anyone.

A pleasant international chain hotel. The rooms are spacious and have a large TV screen. The bedding is very comfortable. The cleaning is well done. The rooms have a small terrace to enjoy the lake view. It is possible to eat on site at around 15/20 dollars for starters and thirty to 40 for main dishes. The choice is vast for the breakfast buffet with the European or continental version. However, the chocolate rolls and the croissants are nothing terrible. The property also has a spa and sauna

Great

Wow!

Wow!
We drove along the coast from the north to the south. We arrived at the Holiday Inn Friday afternoon and checked in. Monika was the front desk clerk all three days and was VERY helpful. Our room for the three nights was perfect, very modern with great heaters. The food in the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced for the area/country. The breakfast buffet was very good. ALL the staff is kind and helpful. Parking was great, we had a rental. We chose to book a ride on the shuttle provided by the hotel on an hourly basis instead of driving to the city center. Shuttle runs on the hour and you just have to book a ride back before you go or call the hotel to book it. It was quick, convenient & easy. I would absolutely stay here again if I were to come back to New Zealand. Really impressed with the staff, their professionalism and kindness. If you re considering staying here, book it, you will not regret it!

For the price, this place deserves at least a 4 star for the location and room views. We got upgraded to the Lakeview courtesy of our platinum status and the views right from our balcony (in which you can slide the door from your room) is breathtaking. It's a quiet area just outside the city centre of Queenstown which we actually like to skip the crowd and hustle.

Holiday Inn Queenstown Frankton in New Zealand is a good stay for 2 nights, the rooms are clean and there is a restaurant cafe next to the receiptionist open quite late, so there is no need to worry about your daily breakfast, lunch & dinner but of course if you want a budget meals you can always drive to the nearby city where there are varieties of foods to be choosen.

When checking in, you need to confirm whether the equipment is complete. In this room No. 514, half of the lights in the room are broken and very dark. One of the electric blankets is broken. One piece is plugged in and the plug is deformed. The bed is still under the bed. There are tires with broken suitcases. Request for a room change, the counter said there is no other room. Requires to repair the lights, indicating that they are off work. Magically, the waiter took a sizeless electric blanket and overlapped it with half of the broken electric blanket... It felt like it was done. Is this really safe? I didn't dare to use it later. Once again, I asked for a work to change the light bulb before the room could hit the computer. And there is still a way to fix it. The condition of the whole room is very bad. The waiter also told us that the manager got off work. If you are angry, check out and react with the manager. I said check out at 7:00 in the morning. Will he be there? The waiter said no, just like this, I have no choice. I can only tell you that there is no room, they are all off work. I really regretted choosing this accommodation and got it until 10 o'clock in the evening. Respond to the accommodation through booking. com, the hotel is back, the customer is very satisfied after the repair. After the Holiday Inn headquarters sent a letter to ask about the situation, it said that the hotel would respond to the hotel within 48 hours, and did not receive any response after one week. I don t want to be disappointed with this hotel.

The staff here are exceptional; cannot fault their customer service and the way they treat guests. The restaurant is (a little surprisingly) very, very good and the lake views are great, with none of the crowds.

Great hotel located in an ideal spot. Friendly staff and decent food offered. Motel style rooms. Prices were reasonable. Rooms were clean and modern. We happened to be lucky on our trip in September as it snowed!

Our flights were cancelled and we had to rebook our accommodation for new dates to match our flights, the team at the Holiday Inn upgraded our room free of charge because of this. We appreciated it so much, our room was nice and the view was stunning. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff (breakfast and dinner) were amazing, the service was the best. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you to all the staff here especially the cleaners and waiters/waitresses

Cannot fault this hotel on anything. Our room was clean and well presented. The room was a little in the small side, but with so much to do in the area it didn't matter at all. The lake view rooms have a lovely view of the lake and mountains. Despite being on the main road, traffic noise wasn't too bad. Even with the balcony door open. The bed was comfortable, staff friendly and very helpful - even providing a bucket for me when I was unwell our first night. The breakfast buffet was great and their dinner menu excellent. We had a fantastic time and would happily return for another visit.

The staff are very friendly. Helpful with any reasonable request. Rooms were tidy and clean. Resturant meals were great, and prices were on par with any restaurant in town.
The only negative I could find with the place was being a fair distance out of Queenstown. A 40 minute walk along the esplanade track. Their shuttle service needs to be reviewed. You have to book half an hour in advance of one of the registered times, at either end. This was difficult as if you went skiing up one of the mountains, you can't guarantee what time you get back into town. So you have to ring and book when you get back into town. This meant on one day an nour and a half wait at the stop on one occasion!
Being as they are competing with resorts a lot closer to town. I recommend that you snould be able to be picked up as soon as possible.
At least if you don't have a phone, you can get one of the staff at any information centre to ring for you, free of charge.

Great views if you can get a lake view room. Beware of room 226, which has the worst design ("mountain view room" with no view. Too dark in the day, too light at night! The outside night light comes in through the bathroom window and through the frosted glass in the bedroom. Bring an eye mask. However any of the 500-600 rooms are pretty good. 610 had views in two directions so is highly recommended. Facility wise is hit and miss, the sauna doesn't heat up to any temperature that makes a sauna useful so would avoid unless they actually fixed it. The group spa/jacuzzi is good and was empty whenever we used it. Overall would only recommend for the lake views which are great, however you also get the Highway traffic noise sitting on the balcony, but the views makes the place.

I was not impressed with this hotel and the high cost of the room did not reflect the service. Firstly we were not notified that the name had changed since we booked, so we spent about half an hour trying to find it. The towel rail didn't heat and there was no consistent explanation for this. Guests were locked out of the hotel until the breakfast room opened at 6pm and had to hang about outside. There was no explanation of breakfast options at all with only one staff member on. In fact staff training seemed to be completely absent in most instances.

Good breakfast and friendly service, nice views of the restaurant. Not of all rooms. Cleaning and room space. Details are missing. There is no soap to put in the shower, the window does not open, the exhaust does not turn off (loud), the noisy refrigerator and the curtains do not cover the light. Far from the center.

Dirty and well used! We checked in to this hotel but had to leave as I couldn't stay in such a disgusting place. Not what you expect from a Holiday Inn.
Coffee stains up the walls, holes in the chairs, mould in the bathroom, dirty sheets.
Expensive and disgusting!

We toured 3 cities in New Zealand this year. We arrived at Queenstown on the 6th of March 2020 from Auckland. The 1st sight of the city from the air was spectacular! Imagine our pleasant surprise when we were dropped by our courteous driver to Holiday Inn.. The beautiful hotel with such friendly staff, lovely rooms & a pretty layout. And the view from the hotel are amazing! So so pretty. We really appreciate the hospitality & ambience of Holiday Inn. Hope to go back there again someday!

The good: Hot shower, nice lounge area by reception, amazing views, and one of the best hotel beds I ever slept on. The bad: Construction in the room next to ours. They were cutting tile and hammering away during the day. The room was also small for what we payed. There was also tea and coffee in the room but no kettle.
