if your attending an event at the 3Arena this hotel is without a doubt the hotel to stay at, with parking below and easy exit and entry to the hotel after an event in the 3Arena, simply walk out the door and the 3Arena is there, the rooms are good and clean, a late night room service will have the food in your room in about 15 mins from our experience, be sure to put a do not disturb sign on your door as we had a member of staff come into our room at 9am, for whatever reason, bathrooms are great, the shower is even better, WiFi was generally good, but if possible make sure to get a room facing away from construction, as early morning drills and hammers of the building next door woke us up quite early.

Went for food. The selection wasn't great and we asked what the soup was for the kids. We waited twenty minutes and still no answer after asking two waiters. Decided to just leave and they didn't seem fussed.

I'm reviewing the Sunday Brunch only: has a pretty terrible experience! Very long wait to be served, some of the food was served cold and there was no Jazz music (one of the selling points on the website). Received no apologies or explanations from the staff either... too bad, I really wated to like it

We've been staying in The Gibson Hotel for many years. Regularly but not very often as we considered it an expensive treat. We always found it more than lived up to its 4 star rating in that there was always a great attention to detail and we never left dissatisfied. Until our stay on 8th February 2020. This time, there were only 2 real positives and they were a waiter in the restaurant, Alesandro (not sure if spelling correctly) from Italy, and the online check-in/checkout.

I upgraded to a suite which I expect means a separate bedroom. There was only one room and a bathroom. I could not get the air conditioning to heat up properly. The lock on the bathroom door was broken meaning we could not lock it. There was only one mirror with a plug near it for a hairdryer. Some genius had decided to park a standard lamp right in front it, but, when I went to move it, I discovered that the bulb fitting was broken in that it was separated from the upright pole.

The upgrade included Sky Movies and Sky Sports, but, when I tried to put on a movie, it looked for a 4 digit password which we had not been told. I called reception and they gave me a password which did not work.

I chose the option of prepaying for dinner because there was small discount. On the morning of our stay, I called the hotel to make a dinner reservation. I was told by the restaurant that it was booked out until 7.30pm, so, I made a reservation for two for 7.30pm. When we arrived at the restaurant, we tried to tell the person at the desk that we had booked and prepaid, but, she literally did not even acknowledge what we said and proceeded to seat us as if we had no reservation. In fact, I'm now not sure that the restaurant was booked until 7.30pm as there were many empty tables when we arrived.

When I sat down at the table, I realised that this person has seated us between a number of dirty tables. There was one table to my right which was dirty and there were 4 tables to my left also dirty. Indeed, I looked over my shoulder and there were two big tables also uncleared. One of the waitresses heard me say this to my wife and immediately began cleaning the tables, but, firstly did not clean them properly and secondly did not set them up with crockery and cutlery.

A waitress then came to our table with bread. She just plonked the bread basket down on our table without saying a word and without asking us if we wanted bread, which we did not. It was clear to us that this bread basket had been picked up from another table. My wife decided to try a piece and it was awful. The basket was so carelessly presented that two of the bread pieces were upside down.

A waitress came to our table to take our order which we have to her. She asked if we wanted something to drink (other than water) which we did, but, she didn't wait for our answer. So, we had to get another waiter's attention to order wine. My wife ordered a glass of red and I ordered a glass of white. But, when the white came, it was tepid and clearly had not been chilled. It didn't taste great, but, I put that down to it not being chilled. I called the waitress and told her that the wine was warm. I asked her for ice but expected her to offer me a chilled replacement. She didn't and putting ice into it did not solve the problem of it tasting poor. So, I gave it back. I was then asked if I wanted a replacement, but, I declined. Thankfully, we ended up with a guy called Alesandro serving us for the rest of the evening.

The breakfast food was fine, but, I couldn't believe it when we were standing waiting to be seated, the person doing the seating walked away and I saw her enter the kitchen and come out with teapots in her hands. But, we were lucky that there were only 4 people ahead of us when we arrived because, when were leaving, there was a queue of at least 20 people waiting to be seated. Clearly way understaffed.

Overall it felt like there was a change of management which had caused a major deterioration in quality and in attention to detail. We wont be returning.

I do not recomend it. Portuguese (PT): Hotel half way downtown, but with the Tram directly in front! Easy to get anywhere in the city. But it has a more ripster and youthful architecture, not very welcoming. Parking was paid separately and no one came to help us when we arrived, we stayed about 20mins in the parking lot trying to figure out how to get into the hotel. When we got in the room, it had stains and dirt on the carpet, sofa, the furniture was detonated and the bathroom looked like road. It was a lot of work to get us to change rooms. After much complaining, they did something. Unfortunately it was a bad experience.

Check in was very fast, rooms were spacious with balconies, great quality beds. Food in restaurant was of great quality as we had a dinner and breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel especially if you are going to an event at the 3 arena as it is next door.

Great location for the 3 Arena. But very expensive to stay when there is a show on (as you would expect). Trendy but nothing special inside. We had dinner before the show. It was quick and felt a bit rushed. Set menu, with average offerings quiet pricey again. After the show it was disappointing to see that the bar charged for lemonade in a larger shandy - considering its replacing the lager in the cup with lemonade it's pretty mean to look to charge for it.

We recently had a business trip to Dublin and were staying at the Gibson hotel.

We had a wonderful time here. They have great service, friendly staff, wonderful breakfast and the place was super clean.

Will definitely recommend the hotel for any travellers.

It is close to a tram stop and also an easy, comfortable walking distance to the major attractions in the area.

Lovely room, breakfast was good. Relaxation area a nice added extra too. Very thoughtful gesture from staff who came to our room with a Happy birthday dessert, note & little music box as it was my partners birthday. Luas stops right outside that will take you up to Abbey street which is in walking distance of the shopping districts. Highly recommend

Stayed after a concert. Expensive but the room, bed and shower were clean, comfortable and worked well. No noise and a centra nearby with all you would need, grabbed a quick pizza there to go as we were in a hurry, delicious.

Went to the Gibson hotel bar for a pre concert drink , We found the bar staff extremely slow to serve us and very rude. We were ignored at 1st although it was not very busy as we were after the main croud ..such a shame.

Clean, comfirtable, friendly staff and right by the tram stop. Easy to get anywhere from here. Only downside is all the current development works but this is the docklands upgrade and not once was any noise noticable, so only spoilt the view.

Great location for concerts and a clean, pleasant room. However, the reason for the average rating is the food was not up to standard. It was overpriced and honestly, we would have had better in Eddie Rockets downstairs for half the price. I didn't complain at the time as the staff were under pressure due to the concert being on. The breakfast was also disappointing as it cost 14 per person and when we arrived down to eat at 10am, there were some items sold out. I would stay here again but I would eat elsewhere.

Excellent. Came straight in through the tunnel and into the car park. Very comfortable. LUAS outside the door so the car stayed in the car park. Lovely evening meal. The only thing bad was no fried eggs at breakfast. You can take the lift down to the car park which is fine for leaving but for some bizarre reason you can not get the lift up to the hotel you have to exit through the point exit and walk across to the hotel. There are no directions to tell you how to do that. Got lost for about 10 minutes doing this. Annoying.

We recently stayed in the Gibson which i booked as a surprise present. For two reasons, 1 it was across from three Arena which we were attending, 2: Its advertised on the First dates as been the hotel/restaurant its filmed at. We were so looking forward to eating from this menu and were offered the first dates menu when I called to book. We arrived and quickly realised it was nothing like first dates restaurant. We ordered and our food which landed 5 minutes later, 35 minutes later I had to ask for our plates to be cleared, another 30 minutes later I had to ask where our deserts were. The manager did apologies and look after us, but was very clear in telling us this restaurant had nothing to do with first dates. If not why serve a first dates menu and why have the Gibson clearly advertised on the show. Out side of that disappointment the room was amazing very clean and modern, staff were very nice and helpful but a little understaffed. Cues in reception , at the bar and poor service in restaurant. But i would definitely return and try it again.

Frustrating experience with management when our room did not live up to size and description and online pictures. We booked a jr. suite and had a large room with no separated living quarters and a small, single sink bathroom. It matched the description and pictures of the less expensive executive room. Management debated this with us endlessly and eventually agreed to refund us 30 euro. It felt scammy and left a bad taste.

Conveniently located right across the plaza from 3Arena. Rooms are clean and quiet, and the free breakfast buffet was tasty with many hot and cold options. The window in my room opened wide, which was lovely for getting fresh air. I especially liked the under-bed lighting...it was a nice touch. The only things missing from the room were a full-length mirror and a pull rod for the curtains -- due to the high ceiling, I couldn't get the curtains fully closed without a pull rod.

Stayed here for 1 night courtesy of the beast from the east. This was to ensure I could make into work next day!
The main hotel reception is on the 2nd floor, accessible by escalators, or lift. Staff were lovely, decor contemporary, only had breakfast, full Irish, pricey but spot on.
Spacious double room, with large bathroom, and brilliant stand in shower.
I can't really fault anything about this hotel, but I was here for only a night.

Great location especially if your attending a gig in the 3Arena which is almost touching distance away as is the Luas. Also a cinema next door. A v modern type hotel great for couples or business travellers but prob not ideal for families

If it wasnt for the massive rave party they decided to throw on the Friday night in the courtyard, this review would have been 4.5 > instead i am here writing my first hotel review i have ever done. Approx. 200 people were hosted to party in their courtyard.. and we were lucky enough to have one of the 6 rooms that faced this courtyard. Absolutely no sleep till 1 am. I cant believe they would put a paying guest in that situation. The token apology the next morning was little comfort after 4 hours sleep in a place where you would think the guest comes first.

Good call in spot pre or post concert. It does tend to get very busy however. Bars can be slow at times as well. Only eaten here twice but food was good and plenty of choice on the menu.Other than that a solid 4 stars. Can't comment on accommodation as never stopped yet.

Absolutely terrible went to the restaurant for dinner and was firstly mislead by the menu which wasn't enjoyable when we got it we both agreed Mc Donald's would have been so much better,(not dissing McD but there not a Hotel after all)then totally ignored by the staff there wasn't even salt, asked numerous occasions for vinegar and was ignored, they weren't even busy. Also when we were charging it to our room I was asked was all ok I said I was very unhappy but ignored again never did we experience people so obviously rude felt like we were a nuisance not paying guests!!!
We later ordered room service and was told we couldn't possibly expect condiments at that time of nite then waited nearly an hour for food
Bed was very comfortable
Breakfast was lovely but my husband was again ignored we ended up thinking we were invisible Yes got to that stage we either laughed or cried.
So good luck to anyone thinking of staying here just look forward to a nice room end off.
