Worth a visit I gave it 4 stars because it is a quick visit. Don t miss it for the photo opportunity.
Worth a visit I gave it 4 stars because it is a quick visit. Don t miss it for the photo opportunity.
Cool to see from the ground. If you have a fear of Heights or claustrophobic. Don't go up! Haha
Though it was a great visit warning to be sure you are getting what you pay for in the gift shop. T shirts are not always the correct size, where a XXL is not and if you buy stamps be sure you get them in your hand rather than have them put in your bag. I did and didn't get them.
In town visiting for the 2017 Eclipse - and just to be fair this should actually be a 5 star, just gave it 4 due to the fact of good luck actually getting to go up in the arch, I had read that you should get tickets way early but the woman said it's every 15 minutes, we got there around 2:30pm, on a Tuesday and the next opening to go up into the arch was at 8:15pm :-/ needless to say the woman was a little upset. Not much to say about it other than its awe inspiring and magnificent! Lots of pictures however - hope you dont mind!
Must visit in town and the most signature landmark of St. Louis. The renovation makes the museum and the park much better, just watch out the mosquitoes... it can be a lot in summer since it s next to the river.
A great place to spend a few hours with family. We weren't able to do the boat tour, the river was flooded. We did go to the top of the arch. Clear skies so we had amazing views on both sides! Definitely get your tickets in advance! We didn't and had to wait around for 2 hours. We ended up go to a sports bar 2 blocks away to kill time.
Literally the biggest STL attraction. Going to the top is cool but prepare to be patient. Order your tickets in advance! My older kids had a lot of fun going up but keeping my toddler contained while in line was a chore.
Definitely worth seeing once it was more exciting than expected with the amount of sway the arch had in the current weather
What an unbelievably fun experience. We went from not even knowing we could actually go inside and ride the Arch to the top to snagging tickets and riding to the top where they have the most amazing views. The lines can get a bit long. And you buy tickets for your time but seems as though that's just a guideline because when you arrive you are just placed in line but you can't get in line till after the time of your ticket. But I must say it all moves very quickly. Keep an eye out for coupon codes, you don't pay for lap babes under a certain age. The staff is very friendly, the museum is awesome, if in St Louis it's a top must see attraction. A lot of people complained about the pods(they are small and seat 5 but the ride isn't crazy long to the top we all just enjoyed the excitement of reaching the top and we're amazed at this man made marvel.
Finally checking this off my bucket list! Our tour guide James was absolutely fabulous. He was both knowledgeable and passionate about what he was talking about. It s awesome to share these experiences with staff that is clearly so invested in what they do!!
The remodel they did a couple of years ago turned out amazing.
Amazing experience!! Very reasonably priced to take the tram up to the top. Unforgettable experience for our family and amazing views!! Was great to know that thjou can go to the lower deck museum and gift shop at no cost!! That alone is really awesome!! If you go to St Louis, you've gotta do this at least once!!
It was a nice conversation with the young man at concession stand, until he said the rib,s we're good at the one next to him,wow but love the trip to see the arch.
Took our 8 year old to see the Arch and go to the top. He loved it! The museum is fun too, lots of interesting hands on information. Fun for the family. Only spent $50 for parking and 3 tickets.
So beautiful! But wear good walking shoes cause the steps are killer!!
Covid rules only allow you a few minutes in the arch now.
Simply beautiful! The free museum has been revamped in the last couple of years and is excellent.
The highlight of my experience though was the friendly staff! They helped us get through the line in no time flat! They were also answering our questions before we could even ask them which was mighty impressive. Loved it!
This was a fantastic experience with a breathtaking view and scenery.
It was a really awesome experience to visit the arch! We are so glad we decided to take the tram to the top and see the awesome views!
The movie they showed in the museum was interesting and had really cool footage of the arch being built but it was really old and a bit boring. It was easy to fall asleep to.
Very cool place! The tour experience was excellent.
Make a note they do sell out of tickets. And getting to the location is horrible and not handy cap friendly
My first time riding the arch was an amazing experience!
Make sure to register for tickets early. If you show up without it will take a while. The tram to the top is supposed to take at least 45 minutes with a stop at top. Museum at the bottom was very worthwhile.
Order tickets online to skip the possible 3 hour wait. We did and was so worth it. Showed up and got right in line to go up and was on our way after an hour. Awesome view from above.
The museum was open but the arch wasn't. Very spacious and well care for.
Go at an off time like 8am or 7:30pm to beat long lines. Also the museum you walk through is fantastic! They ask some hard questions and discuss hard topics regarding the American westward expansion; don't just read and leave. Think on them, and let them make you uncomfortable.
A must see. Just impressive sight and experience. The museum alone is worth going, the ride to the top is more memorable. Highly recommend!
Great experience. The museum and movie are also excellent.
It s everything you would image. I enjoyed my time here and will visit again when I get a chance. Don t forget to ride to the top of the arch.
Really neat. Gotta do this once in your life. I marked it off my bucket list, have you?
If you like history, this is the place for you! If you're claustrophobic, DON'T DO IT! LOL
4th of July at the Arch means Fair St. Louis. Lots of good food and great events leading up to the fireworks show at 9:30pm. An annual tradition!
If you are into history this place is worth a visit
Fantastic park and taking the tram up the Arch is a musy
Fantastic National Park. Take the trip to the top.
Amazing to think that this was built so long ago and still attracts many many people.
The only reason we went to St Louis was to visit this beautiful place. There is a museum underground below the arch which is very well presented. We spent half of our day learning about the history of arch and the ride to the top is a real trip inside those tiny pods. The view from the top of the arch is breath taking.we just took bike from lime bike applications and just enjoy every single minute we spent in St Louis. Would not visit without seeing the movie on how the arch was constructed as well as loved watching the actual footage of work crews. So interesting and informative
It was a fun thing to try. But they should tell you in advance that for groups more than 5 people you will get split up and possibly put in with strangers in a small confined tram. But the view is beautiful at the top.
The Tallest Monument in USA. Its amazing how they did it. On a sunny day it shines like a diamond in the sky. Keep a 4 to 6 hours time span. Fabulous.
This man made wonder never fails to amaze.
To think that this colossus was engineered so long ago.
The new museum at it's base is a day trip on it's own.
Visit and be amazed!
Glad we got there first thing on a weekday; traffic had really picked up when we left. Spent about 2.5 hours here between waiting for our tram to the top and exploring the museum. Everything is really well done.
The grounds and museum were immaculate and very modern. Didn't go up in The arch itself due to time constraints. Learned a lot about St Louis and it's role in opening up the West.
Amazing monument, everyone does the trip too the top, I also suggest watching the movie showing the construction of the Arch.
Being inside the Arch was an education, from the beginning its amazing engineering was quite a fete, its construction and the dedication of the men & women who made it happen. The ride up was pretty interesting feeling the car move and not seeing where you were going is a sensory overload at times, but we made it and didn't have to climb the stairs. The people here are very polite, courteous and go out of their way to help you. We enjoyed ourselves and look forward to a follow-up trip to see the completed overhaul
Magnificent!
It is located at the site of St. Louis's on the west bank of the Mississippi river splitting the borders between Missouri and Illinois.
Cool view from the top. Interesting info center. Put it on your bucket list.
The view from the top of the Arch is breathtaking, and absolutely astonishing!
This was a fantastic experience. My early morning in downtown St Louis Missouri was worth it. Everyone I met was welcoming and friendly. It was a learning experience too.
I hadn't been to the arch in decades. The renovations were awesome. However, it would have been helpful to have signs showing the new entrance, knowing where to park and to know how busy it was going to be with only one tram working. We were not able to go to the top because it was over a two hour wait just to board.
truly a one of a kind experience mus t do. great museum. have to go up in the arch once, but it is a small car so if small places are not your thing be careful in this consideration. great views of all downtown and riverfront.
Really fun! We bought our tickets online which I really recommend. When we arrived the line for tickets was very long and we got to head right inside because we got them ahead of time. The trams to get to the top are VERY SMALL! IF YOU ARE CLAUSTROPHOBIC I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! They are very small pods that fit 5 people and you will be touching knees with everyone inside the pod. However, it only takes 4 minutes to get to the top so you re not in there too long. The view from the top is really great! Awesome view of the city and the river. The tram down only takes 3 minutes! Definitely a fun tourist stop in St. Louis.
What an amazing monument. The new arch grounds project turned out great!! There is plenty of grass area and shade for a picnic or any activity for your family. Great views of the Mississippi River from the ground and the top. The new entry and museum are very modern and impressive! Great knowledge and activities await with in. The ride of the tram was fun and the views of the city incredible. This is something every should visit at least once and frequently if you're a local.
My advice would be to not pay to ride the tram. The pods you ride in are tiny, seriously the doors are only 4 feet tall, so you have to contort your body to climb into the pods, let alone sit in one. Once you get to the top, your excitement will be instantly deflated when you see the 8 inch tall rectangular windows you get to squint through to see the "majestic" views of the city. The arch is much more stunning from the outside than from the inside. The inside tour could use a modern update to make it worth the money and to make it more enjoyable.
An amazing experience. Very quickly got through security. There's a museum, gift shop and cafe to visit as well. The views from the top were incredible.
Memorable experience.... Please buy tickets online this summer as you would not like to get into the queue in the scorching sun.
I was here with my family and we enjoyed the top view from the arch ... Could not imagine that we are top on the Arch...
Real good family place and try to reach here before 8am so that you get a parking next to the Mississippi River. (Good click)
Just to add some fun... We took a cruise ship ride and it was awesome... Once you are on the ship ...click some good pics with the arch and the bridge..... Nice to listen when the captain narrates the history of St Louis.
I am going to be there again and you all have a fun time at the arch.
Honestly not much to see. It's better from the outside! Nice one time experience to have though.
Best place to visit in st. louise....
Different experience..
Marvel of Engineering
We have driven past the Gateway Arch multiple times and thought we should STOP and visit.. It is NIW a National Park so we had to stop and get our book stamped. The grounds are beautiful and a great place to hang out along the river. We visited the Museum on our way to the top and enjoyed the displays of the local history... The ride up is an engineering feat to keep the cart level. The view at the top is incredible!! A Must Visit!!
Well worth a visit when in St Louis. Really liked the completely redone museum, very informative on the history of the area. The view from the top, well what can you say, just don't look down. The movie on the building of the arch is fascinating as well.
We enjoyed our time. It was disappointing that all the tickets were sold out and only running 1 tram! So we weren't able to go up into the Arch.
This is the icon of STL and is always a welcoming sight to see when coming home from out of town!
Fun experience! AWESOME views! LOVE that we went with our JW friends bcuz they knew so much about STL and the surrounding sites and history!
Beautiful monument, and museum has excellent displays (with content for all ages)
Great experience. I have always wanted to see the arch. the tram ride was fun. The are doing an awesome job of social distancing.
Beautiful. They city is quite clean the area was not crowded for a Sunday in July. I really enjoyed St. Louis xoxo Southern California
We Just to see it and go in it. It's very tight place had a good view it was a clear day
The arch is a classic attraction! It's a unique experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone passing through St. Louis. The view is absolutely breathtaking!
A must do for tourists. The park does a great job getting you up swiftly and safely.
Love hanging downtown been more police presence feel safer...
You really can appreciate just how big this is when you get close and walk around by it. I highly recommend walking around by it, it s absolutely beautiful
Beautiful view from the top. Line wasn't too long but it definitely can be some days.
A true American treasure. The arch is of course fantastic, but additionally the Westward Expansion museum is quite well done. Even my teenagers liked it.
Beautiful view! Went on a clear day on a Wednesday evening. Took about 2 hours.
The gateway to the West. This is one of those place that you have to stop and see. I was really surprised at how does dirty the bay was at the river near the monument. The actual Arch visitor center was very nice, clean with lots of historic information in it's little walk through museum. I felt as the price to ride up into the Arch in an elevator was over priced. There is a gift shop there with some nice selection resending the Arch. This is one of those places if you are passing by and never been, you should stop.
Been there 3 times seen the video of how they built it been to the top. Last time up a storm hit when I was at the top and you could feel it sway.
Great place to visit with family and friends! The scenery is beautiful and there's a Museum at the base of the Arch inside the main doors...
The history story told in the museum is as good as the trip to the top.
Loved the Arch!! The History clip was pretty neat. The museum was nice as well while waiting on tram to go up the arch. In gift shop the fudge was the best! They even give you free samples for asking. Penny presses were cool for the kiddos. The wading pool in front my little girl loved. We were there during the 4th of July and the fireworks and food was outstanding. Going up into the arch is a bit close, so if you're clostophobic, not recommended. Security is everywhere on the grounds and inside. My husband has disability and they even hauled him in a gator to and from our car. I highly recommend parking a block or so away and walking there to avoid the 20.00 parking fees. Awesome experience!
After the newly renovated museum , it's more than I expected. Kids enjoyed it. If you start by the arch itself to get in, not going to happen. Markings are on pathway, with arrows to the entrance. Entrance is on top of hill. They have ticket both up front, welcome center, restrooms. To enter museum is free. Go through security check , just like an airport. Go on down and enjoy. Lots to see and listen. There are restrooms lower level, and ticket counter for river ride, arch tram. Coffee shop with food and store also lower level. Have fun!
The evening time is the best time to go for this place. Only downside is it's parking which is limited. Suggest you to park on Walnut St and take a walk to it.
