Went here for the Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious, the calamari appetizer was amazing! Entree portions were small, but everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.

The room was adequate with semi private deck. Staff is friendly. My key card for the door would only work for half a day and I would have to get a new one. Amenities are excellent. The sea turtles on the beach are a highlight.
This hotel is the best ever. Staff are so friendly nothing is too much trouble. Beach staff brilliant
My Son was married here - couldn't have wished for a more wonderful romantic setting .Everything just perfect
Typical Fairmont experience. Great service, great food, great amenities. Beautiful grounds, well kept and clean. Easy ocean access with that built in cove. Snorkeling was fun. Sea turtles and colorful fish are easy to see. Large warm pool. Oh, and a fantastic breakfast buffet and sushi restaurant.
Small issue with some bugs in the room, but it's Hawaii! Nice hotel with decent sized rooms and friendly staff. There is also a private cove which is nice for the hotel.
It's Hawaii and the people are all kind and focused on service.
Fantastic resort. Great service. Great food. Best beach location I've been to. Walk into the water and swim with sea turtles! Rooms and beds are comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the resort and ocean. The WiFi was almost unusably slow and should be a lot better for such a nice resort. On site rental car was very convenient. No bugs. If you're looking for an all in one resort you don't have to leave this fits the bill very well.
Nice rooms and friendly staff.
Staff recommended the breakfast buffet but almost every station has flies on the food which is disgusting. Paid but did not eat much.
My first vacation ever and it couldn't have been better! We were treated amazing and I lived every moment! Food, hospitality, cleanliness, atmosphere was beyond wonderful and it was my birthday when we arrived...what better birthday gift could I ask for!! Dream come true. I wish I could have stayed longer to experience more of the island!!!
Beautiful location with extremely helpful and friendly staff. I will happily visit Fairmont Orchid again in the future!
Attended island breeze productions luau at the Fairmont orchid. Was good. Pretty good buffet, kid friendly. Show was good. Had fun.
Great resort. Nice and quiet. Very relaxing. The staff is so helpful and friendly.
Awesome stay, we always have a good time and its a great base for exploring the north end of the island.
Absolutely phenomenal resort. The staff are wonderful, hotel grounds are manicured to perfection, and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. Looking forward to our next visit!
Great experience here. The rooms where clean, and the resort was beautiful. Fairmont orchid has a gym, lounge areas, a spa, and beach areas along the beach trail. The lagoon and pool area are where a lot of folks relax at too. The buffet breakfast is good in the morning, but beware of the birds though if you're placed outside to eat . Eating at the resort, and some restaurants in The Shops down the street, can get expensive. However, do try it for the experience.
Check out Foodland Farms in The Shops (Muana Lani) to pick up more reasonably priced eats. You can walk to The Shops from the resort, but the resort does provide shuttle there and back. However the walk is about 10 minutes.
Check out Kings' Shops and Queens Marketplace shopping mall as well. Kings' is a smaller shopping area, but still worth going. Queen's has more stores that could be found on the mainland, like Macaroni Grill. Use Uber to get to these locations from either the resort, or The Shops. Uber drivers will tell you about other hotspots as well.
We came to the big island for our 5th anniversary, and our stay at the Fairmont Orchid was amazing! The property is a bit of a drive from the airport, but this is the big island - everything is a bit of a drive.
The accommodations are fairly standard for the price, and could be found at any number of other resorts. What makes the Fairmont Orchid special is the staff and their care to details - from greeting you with Kukui leis when you first pull up to making sure that everything is correct in the room. I'm allergic to feathers, and the staff made sure to remove all feather-filled pillows and the Duvet from the room. (Special thanks to Elizabeth and all the staff on the Fairmont Gold floor!)
The Hawaii Loa Luau that takes place on property is full of cultural traditions, and the food (and all the food served at the Fairmont Orchid) is top notch.
The property has Beautiful beaches with regular visits by Honu, but finding an empty spot to leave your towels can be challenging. A shuttle runs to a small shopping center that is part of the resort, but you will need to rent a car if you want to see anything on the big island.
Overall, an amazing experience. I would never stay anywhere else.
Enjoyed a lovely massage and facial at their spa without walls. Best massage I've had in my life.
I went on a trip last June.
Employees were kind enough to serve us, and we would like to thank all the employees who picked us up and picked us up in English.
The breakfast was very varied and the pancakes and fruits were delicious.
The situation where you can have a meal while watching the sunset was also the best.
The sea was beautiful and I enjoyed snorkeling.
Amazing place with the exception of the sushi restaurant on site. Norios was easily the worst meal on the entire trip; I had better food from burger king before checking in.
Great resort. Modern rooms, beautiful grounds. Great for snorkeling. Saw so many types of fish and sea turtles. Really enjoyed the luau.
Pretty located hotel with it's own beach and outside restaurants. The people working there are smiling and helpful in everything. Food in beach bar is a nice snack that will keep you full for hours. The resort is well taken care of. Props for using recyclable cups, cutlery, boxes and paper straws!
Here for a meeting. Breakfast was Okay. Disappointed in the 'fresh' fruit, for crying out loud people we are in Hawaii. Hotel staff that I did interact with were friendly and attentive. Can't speak to the rooms, pool, or beach
Beautiful location and gorgeous rooms and amenities!
Great place for a picnic at the shore line with friends.
Especially the ladies at the reception were terrible. They were rude and unwilling to help. I was yelled at by them. The facility was okay, but it was much too much money taken. The cocktails cost $ 14 and came in plastic cups. There were too few umbrellas, shade and even the Wi-Fi cost money. The decor was perfectly old and met neither European 5-star standards nor those of the US. The room service did not clear properly and at the reception in front of the lunch restaurant one was greeted with a pout and annoyed look. Anyone who thinks that everyone has a bad day is wrong. The lady chatted and laughed all the time with the other staff.
Wonderful beaches and pools to relax in while at Hawaii!
Lovely...not pretentious but first class. Small enough to be personal yet laid out well for privacy . So far the food has been excellent and service friendly and professional ..highly recommend.
Very bad place for vacation I never come back again NEVER
The food, scenery, room, and staff made for the best trip we have ever had in Hawaii.
We had a great time at this resort eventhough we would head out early morning right after the breakfast. The resort is very clean with good amenities. Self parking is free and is included in the resort fee. What we didn't know is included as part of the resort fee was snorkel goggles, fins and vests. Just head out to the resort's private beach and you will find the office to get your gear and enjoy! You will see sea turtles and lots of great fishes.
My only disappointment was the lack of different type of tropical fruits at the breakfast buffet which I really looked forward to.
Everything was wonderful and the pool was beautiful and warm!
Great! The room was VERY comfy. The only problem is that the view is kind of boring . But the staff are really friendly .
This resort is very beautiful, peaceful, and has the friendliest staff! We stayed for 9 days and it was an amazing experience! This was our first time to visit Hawaii and it was spectacular! We just cannot say enough good things about this resort and it's staff! Thank you for hosting our company! We have the best team members!
The Luau food was fantastic, entertainment was wonderful and the staff were very friendly. We truley enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend it.
Beautiful place even without a room that has ocean views.
Nice property - albeit pretty standard high end resort layout. Good or bad (depending on your perspective), the property follows the typical tropical resort template... if you've ever stayed at a large high-end beach resort like a Ritz or a Four Seasons, you will feel like you've stayed here before.
Wow all the amenities, ocean front property with all the toys you could ever want. This property hosts 3 large outdoor venues for large party's. This is a must see.
The most appalling service I have seen from a so-called 5 star hotel in a very long time. Phone calls don t get answered and just constantly ring into the abyss. Upkeep of the rooms is poor. AC is poor. Food is poor. Service across the board is poor. If you want to be classified as a 5-star, you need to have the standards of four seasons or higher at the very least. Won t be staying here ever again.
Awesome property & amazing amenities. Brown' Beach House is great for a sunset dinner!
Lush grounds. Nice rooms. Enjoyed snorkeling in the bay.
April at check in was absolutely amazing. Very accommodating and super friendly even under the pressure of multiple guests (many complaining about the wait). She maintained absolute professionalism with a smile the entire time.
The resort was great.
Food was a major let down. In room dinning and across the board of all restaurants, I would not recommended their food.
Amazing resort. So many amenities and wonderful service. The location and setting is so enchanting.
It was so relaxing and I can't wait to be back
Best Christmas vacation

The breakfast buffet is great! Including traditional Hawaiian dishes as well as a full American breakfast selection. The pancake/waffle/crepe bar is great!
This hotel, property, staff, accommodations are all incredible. This was our first stay at this resort and we LOVED it. Their staff is extremely helpful, kind and happy to help. We will definitely be back to this resort and look forward to making many more memories there.
Nice calm private beach with turtles. Snorkle on the left side and you won't miss them. Go as early as possible.
This resort was Awesome! The room was amazing the staff was very helpful and so nice, the spa was Amazing! The views are breathtaking, I highly recommend this resort if you are looking for good food, friendly staff, breathtaking views, peacefulness and relaxation.
This is the best place to stay on the Big Island. Super friendly staff. Great views, food and rooms!
What a gorgeous resort! The staff is unbelievably service oriented and friendly. We didn't talk to a single dud our entire time here. Absolutely beautiful location. The amenities are a bit pricey but that's to be expected.
The only negative that was bothersome was the inconsistent WiFi. The speed is fine but all of our devices would drop the WiFi every three minutes for about 10 seconds. This made streaming Hulu or Netflix extremely tedious. Sometimes you just want to lounge in your room and watch a show! Not enough to take off a star though!
Gorgeous location and facilities. Great snorkeling right on site. Rooms are modern and we'll appointed. Breakfast is fantastic. There's a grocery store a mile up the road for everything you forgot and plenty wide bike/running lanes on the surrounding roads.
A beautiful property. Was here 17 years ago, brought back fond memories.
Lovely sunsets, beach...nature at its best, great dining options from breakfast to Fine dining to grab and go.
Super nice hotel! Huge pool and private beach. Friendly staff and a large selection of restaurants. A restaurant on the beach, however, was relatively disappointing for such a hotel ... Very poor service and twice the wrong dish received or was forgotten.
The Fairmont Orchid is an incredible venue for events and private parties, I did not get a chance to see the rooms but the grounds are impeccable and the staff is outstanding.
Loved loved this place! Can't wait to go back! It's so beautiful and has all the perks of Hawaii at your finger tips! It's pricey for sure, especially the food. But the breakfast buffet was amazing. BE AWARE: the partial ocean views are hardly ocean views if on the outside of the building due to its design. So, just don't expect the ocean view, we just would up spending all our time out of the room.
The Fairmont staff is extremely nice and helpful. The food is excellent. But be prepared to pay Fairmont pricing on everything. Breakfast buffet for 2 is $70 before tip and 3 drinks and 2 appetizer s during the complementary live music is almost $100.
The service and quality is definitely some of the best on the island.
Awesome resort! We had the opportunity to stay here for two nights and it didn't disappoint. We will stay here again.
ITS A VERY GOOD HOTEL TO GO TO AND ITS VERY FUN FOR THE KIDS AND I
Great view at a very nice resort. Food was great. Our whole table had the special and it was delicious. Service was very friendly, especially since we were dining with our 14 month old son.
Hotel and staff were amazing. Good size pool and the beach and lagoon area were fantastic. Lots of wildlife to go swimming/snorkeling with. We were upgraded to an ocean view suite and it brilliant. It was the first time we'd been to Hawaii so wasn't quite sure what to expect, the hotel is a little bit out of the way but we hired a car on site and spent a couple of days exploring the island. We stayed for 10 days and found that the food was good but nothing special but there are other restaurants not too far away if you have transport otherwise there are a couple down at the shopping area about a 20/25 minute walk but the hotel offers a complimentary bus service there too.
There's something for everyone and it has a wonderful sunset.
The hotel is very clean and spacious with a wide view. Our room was great, with a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. The pool and the beach are cool, if you want, you can hang a sturdy hammock on the palm trees and watch the sea! This is one of my favorite places! If you are lucky enough, you can see the eye-catching turtles crawling out of the sea. There is a great lagoon snorkeling where you can swim and explore the sea. The food tastes great too!
This is the second time I have stayed at the Orchard and I love it. In today's hustle and bustle of my job the Orchard is a famastic place to de-stess. The staff is amazing and is very iaccommodating to the needs of their customers. The grounds are beaitul and the pool is open 24 hours a day.
Quiet and beautiful place to spend time relacing and enjoying watersports like snorkel.
We celebrated my 70th birthday. Our dinner was fabulous, the accommodations the best. The Personnel was so accommodating. Would love to go back someday.
We love the Orchid, it s truly a stunning property. It s simple plantation style architecture and beautiful Hawaiian aesthetic make it for a truly amazing spot. The service we received was a little lackluster and the food at Brown s was not as good as in the past. But overall still a good experience. Don t miss the torch lighting and sunset at 6 pm each night!
Great facility. Love the private bay. Staffs are friendly. Upscale rooms
This place is so beautiful and the hospitality is first rate. Honestly, you can't go wrong at the Fairmont.
There's a great lagoon at this resort for snorkeling and swimming. And the beach has bar service, so there's scarcely a dull moment.
Wonderful place with many activities and dining options
Beautiful grounds, pools, and rooms. I hear that Happy Hour is the way to go if you're getting drinks.
