Staff was so friendly, rooms were clean and large. Two showers in the bathroom was a welcome surprise. The only reason I am not rating 5 stars is because 2 of their restaurants repeatedly served me food that was marked gluten free, I was assured was gluten free but I was so ill for 4 days I know it was not gluten free. There is also very little to do on the resort.

The Fairmont Orchid is a truly beautiful venue. It has a gorgeous private beach and snorkeling cove, and lots of other stuff to do. The dining is amazing, so many delicious options. The Spa Without Walls is probably the most amazing feature of this resort. I can't wait to come back!

The Fairmont is a great place to relax. Very attentive staff made the stay quite enjoyable. A stop by the spa is a must. Ronja is an expert at the Lomi Lomi massage. #bestmassageever

Absolutely outstanding hotel. Turtles galore on the private beach. Staff is incredibly friendly and informative (shout-out to Jose at the Hale Kai bar who was great company). You really don't even need to leave the place, but you're within an hour or two drive of some unforgettable sites and experiences. Came here for a honeymoon and couldn't imagine a better place to spend it.

Came for dinner at Binchoton and was blown away by the fantastic service! The food is family style but wonderful in flavor. The comprehensive drink menu has something for everyone and the signature cocktails are a must have. I will definitely come here again and tell me friends and coworkers. When you're here, you feel like part of the family.

This place is great! Service is top notch and onsite restaurants serve great food. The all you can eat sushi paired with all you can drink Sake is delicious and can get out of hand in the best way.

It is great for couples as there is overtones of romance through the resort.

This is not a beach resort so get ready for pool and hammocks both of which are great.

Lastly, there is a shuttle to the shops that runs 24hrs. There is not a lot of night life but good surfing 15 min away by foot.

Beautiful beachfront property, excellent service... let me repeat, EXCELLENT service. Restaurants on the grounds are adequate, but nothing unique. Pool and beach access are great. Comfy Lanai/balcony. Wifi on the slow side.

Very nice hotel overall. But we booked through Costco and the room they have us upon check-in had two dead cockroaches and stains on the wall near the ac and stains on the bottom of bed skirt (and some sort of puddle on the floor just under the bed where the stained bed skirt was). So we brought this to the attention of the manager and had him come to see it. I wondered if we were given this ground floor room because we had booked through Costco (and had a discount for the room). the hotel manager was very sorry and we were given a room on 4th floor with better view ...same size room and very clean. We also noted that the hotel boasted about how eco friendly they were but upon closer inspection we noticed some things that weren't so eco friendly. For example, we didn't see aluminium or glass recycling on property. In fact we watched one woman stop her friend from tossing an aluminium can in the garbage and redirected her to the recycling station about 50 feet away but as they approached they didn't see any option for aluminum cans so they just threw it in the garbage. When we asked a staff person about this she said, "yeah I know. There are some but only in some areas." This was strange to us because it makes sense to have recycling for all items at each place you have garbage cans...especially if you're going to boast about being eco friendly. We saw the whole property but never saw these stations fit plastic and aluminum recycling. Given that we really look for those things but could not find it we suspect that the average person never saw them if they do in fact actually exist on that property. We were also disappointed that the on site restaurant (Browns) used honey from Austria rather than the local honey from Big Island Bees (Hawaiian Apiaries) which we had toured just a few days prior.

A piece of heaven on earth! Elegant and graceful without being ostentatious. We were planning on checking out other luxury properties nearby for our future reference, but we've decided that Fairmont Orchid was our "go-to" place for the future visits to the Big Island. Our whole family has been suffering from the post-vacation blues as Fairmont Orchird spoiled us. Bravo for a job well done!!!

Really wished there was more included with the resort fee. Take advantage of the water activities since it's included. The pool was alright, but charging to use the floaties and things was lame.

The room was very spacious and had both a bathtub and shower. Room safe included as well. There was a balcony, but it didn't have a good view for my room. The included toiletries were nice as well.

The water pressure was great everywhere EXCEPT the toilet. The flushing in the toilet was very weak and you'd have to flush twice sometimes.

Service was excellent and everyone was nice. The restaurants inside were on the pricier side.

The Fairmont hosted an excellent event for North Hawaii hospice Lantern Festival. After the event was over we continue to have excellent service at the bar and especially by the bartender on duty that night, Angell.

Very nice property, albeit a tad expensive. Face it, Hawaii is nothing but expensive. If you want to do all sort of activities while living it up, then this is one of the places you can just throw money at and relax and enjoy. Bonus, it has great food options that you will definitely relish. 5/5!

It s a beautiful place. The staff keep the property very clean. The staff is very polite and attentive. You have access to the gym and pool area 24/7, which is awesome. The only negative thing I can say is that my husband and son received a lei upon arrival, but I did not.

Paradise, even the scenery drive to the resort is beautiful. They did a great job of lining the road through lava rocks. Enjoy free 1 hour snorkeling gears and snorkel at the private beach. (Don't think they actually count the time tho) Watch sea turtle basking warm summer air at night. Breakfast buffet is $35 per person including the omelet station. Be prepared to drive 30 min either direction if you're ready to try food other than at the hotel's. Great place to stay in Big Island.

The hotel was wonderful, honu (green sea turtles) bask on their Rock Beach and there is a sand beach a 3minute walk away. The pool was fairly quiet and restful. Food from Browns deli was reasonably priced (for resort prices) and delicious. The hotel gave us over 60% off an upgraded room on the gold floor which was fantastic. Room service was also priced reasonably and the food quality was good. Overall the room cost is higher than many of the surrounding resorts, but the additional costs are sometimes even modest compared to those same resorts.

Large rooms....nice ocean views. Service is good, restaurants on property are good. The beach is on a small lagoon that has excellent snorkeling and lots of green sea turtles (honu) live there. All in all we've had a good experience.

Great hotel. Great location on the private beach with turtles. Very good service, nice breakfast, spacious rooms with large bathroom.
Whoever likes it quietly should ask for a room in the direction of the golf course.

It is located on a secluded beach so you can relax quietly. There are areas where you can enjoy snorkeling lightly. It is a little disadvantage that it is attached directly to the golf course. The advantage of being quiet is that it may be a little bit boring and boring.

This hotel is absolutely incredible. The gardens are beautiful and consist of many waterfalls, the hotel has a gorgeous view of the ocean and the sunset, the restaurants are spectacular and the service is amazing. I feel that this hotel goes above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable and well taken care of!

Location by the beach, send the turtles is unique.
The service is at the 5* level.
Perhaps the restaurants could be better, given the price

Beautiful property, fantastic rooms, excellent service. Would definitely come back to stay here again. The beach here wasn't our speed, but a lot of the hotels don't even have beach access and this is so close to Hapuna, which is the best beach on the island.

Absolutely beautiful. Shout out to Carolina, Reservations Manager. Staff is FANTASTIC. Pool perfect, beach beautiful.

Only complaint...very overpriced food. 55.00 for a rib eye steak...just the steak. 11.00 for potato, same for a veggie. That's a bit much, my opinion.

Room CLEAN and I mean clean. Entire property smells heavenly. Everyone has a commitment to excellence. Everyone extraordinarily kind and helpful. So glad we stayed there.

While staying at Maura Lani Resort, I went out for a meal only for one day. The shuttle service allows the two hotels to travel freely. In comparison, I felt that the atmosphere was somewhat higher in this hotel. Moreover, the pool is larger here and it is excellent. It was a pity that the waiter who took charge of our table at the restaurant I used was not very friendly. Although I did not enter the room, I wrote in various ways, but overall it is a hotel that feels equal to Maura Lani Resort. I think that you should stay for the person who has a favorite plan and an accommodation plan.

Beautiful destination, incredible staff, amazing food and activities. I love being able to practice yoga, paddle board, kayak, snorkel and go on outrigger sunrise adventures. I would recommend staying here!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The view is amazing. The swim beach is top notch. At night the green turtles come to shore and the Manta Ray's flip their wings out of the water. Highly recommend!

Fairmont Orchid is a beautiful property with spacious rooms. We ended up with a partial ocean view that had a nice view of the ocean and the Koi pond. Service was excellent, and they made it easy to request maintenance, through text messaging. All the staff, from check in front staff to housekeeping never neglected to greet us. Overall, a great stay!

I only stayed for a night. I was with a music group performing at two shows. The rooms were spacious. The front desk was clear with the directions on how to get to the rooms. Within the evening I was gone, the room (bathroom and beds) had been remade. However brief, I enjoyed my stay.

Nice place located in a beautiful beach. We have stayed at the Four Seasons before but I can definitely can come back for a third time to this resort; it seems a bit more relaxing.
The staff helping on the Gold level floor are super friendly... especially Chris!

Fairmont Orchid

Pros:
Staff are lovely and happy to help
Rooms are spacious with beautiful views. Rooms come with bath tub shower and normal shower
Plenty of restaurants nearby

Cons:
I can t explain it but the vibe of this place is dead. It s as though everyone is half asleep. The staff are moping around not as up beat as the Fairmont in Maui, there s no music in the lobby, it was kind of sad. Especially when we arrived,it wasn t anything magical.
The rooms weren t clean at arrival, I found hair all over the floors and in the showers

Feels like a boutique hotel. Crowded pool, small bay with excellent snorkeling and chance to see honu! Coolest part is the bay at night when they shine a bright light and the magnificent mantas come swimming by.

Be sure to ask for their hospitality rooms to use to freshen up if you have a late flight! Must call front desk by 6 am on the day of check-out to reserve.
