This hotel was perfect for my honeymoon with my wife. It has everything you d want included on the resort from a beautiful swimming area to luscious grounds. Some of the restaurants on site are delicious, even if expensive, and I d highly recommend paying to have the breakfast included. Every morning started with an amazing spread.

This hotel was quiet when we went in early December, and totally allowed us to calmly lay by the pool and really get some R&R, while still having enough of a good lounge and cocktail selection for some fun nights out. You may have to drive a bit to get to surrounding things (Volcanoes Nat l Park is about 1 hr, 45 away; Kona is about an hour), but the drives around are so nice that it didn t matter.

Totally recommend, incredible resort

Hale Kai at Fairmont Orchid is our go-to place for ocean-fron5 casual dining and drinks. The service is always great, ambience is wonderful and calm, and the food is great. Grilled Catch sanwich is my favorite, followed by the lobster friend rice. Love this place!

Oct 2016. OK! Full disclosure: this resort is expensive, but . . .

Wonderful facilities. Clean and modern. Importantly! Snorkeling on site! Green sea turtles laze about on the rocks and feed in the lagoon. Nice beach here. Few resorts have a protected beach just outside your room. Staff is great; helpful and friendly. Restaurants are excellent tho expensive. Alcoholic beverages are pricey. Brown,s deli is a cheaper option for breakfast and snacks, and food is good there. Best Buy?- Norios all-u-can-eat sushi bar. Loved it!

The luau is a must see. Excellent food and show.

Shops nearby include supermarket-think BYOB. Fairmont shuttle will take u there. So there are off-site options. Monsteras sushi was good. Ruth,s Chris Steakhouse is excellent.

Few negatives. No airport shuttle. So rent car or hire cab/limo. Resort about 30 minutes north of airport, 40-45 minutes north of town. Daily resort fee applies. Resort is expensive, but worth it. Garden view room is fine. Ocean view rooms much pricier, may not be worth the extra $s.

Beautiful place with well laid out lounges, pool, gazebos, and lots of koi ponds with small waterfalls winding through the hotel. Pricey, obviously, but lovely to walk around the grounds and to have lunch on the beach even if you don't plan to stay

Good!

From start to finish this was my best hotel experience ever. The staff were pampering and helpful, the location was incredible, rooms were not just clean but very luxurious. Also a shout out to the restaurant on site, Hale Kai, the cheese steak and nachos were both fantastic.

During breakfast, the waiters remembered our coffee orders each day and always gave us advice on our plans for the day.

Finally, recommend the canoe tour with Elijah. He was very jovial and taught us a lot about Hawaii

Great venue for hosting the Honu Half Ironman race expo and registration. Plenty of water, and the salons were big enough to hold all the meetings and expos. Look forward to coming back to the Honu Half sponsored at the Fairmont Orchid.

We walked through the hotel. Lots of marble, which gave a nice cool feeling during the heat. Decor was modern. The pool was nice but not huge. However if the hotel is full space at the pool might be a problem. But if the pool is full There's always the ocean next to the hotel. Now my wife and I have lunch at the Fairmount. The service was good. The food was also good, but it wasn't quite as advertised. Specifically I had the kimchee pulled pork sandwich. It was good, but I only tasted the bbq sauce. If there was any kimchee flavor, it was completely overwhelmed. Overall I'd say it was a good experience, but could use some improvement.

While the resort was nice. They wanted to charge for anything they could. My family spent almost $10,000 for 4 nights accommodation. Yet we still got nickel and dimed for everything. $20 a day for a microwave? Holiday Inn Express includes it in the room or offers it for free. Additionally, my parents suite had intermittent hot water. They essentially did not care and did nothing to fix it. We will not be coming back to stay here.

A perfect honeymoon experience! Loved the cove on site, great deep tissue massage at spa without walls, food at all restaurants were delicious. Staff had perfect customer service especially Jorge the manager! Will be coming back for sure

New year's Eve event had flaws. It was fun, but there were no fireworks, nor was there any sort of countdown. They brought fire dancers on the floor and then their finale was a good 2 min after midnight.

Gorgeous resort. Friendly staff. The property has an awesome lagoon will the beach rentals. Beach activities, many different classes, brilliant tennis and golf spaces - Fairmont made our stay just fabulous.

Beautiful location by the beach. Super comfy beds, delish Hawaii bottled water in the rooms, balconies have loungers & table. Some rooms have an ocean view. There is a lovely pool over-looking the sea. The breakfast buffet is AMAZING. The fresh fruit is the best ever. Furthermore, if you are GLUTEN FREE like me, this is the place! They make gf waffles and cakes. A little slice of paradise.

Had a great time at this hotel. They had our room ready at 11am which was a huge convenience. The poolside drinks were excellent I'd recommend the lilikoi margarita and the strawberry daquiri. The beach area is pristine. The food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. There was live music which was a plus as well. Sunsets here are amazing. The room had everything we needed. The King bed and stand alone shower were fantastic. I would stay here again in heartbeat.

Terribly disappointing. Poor service from housekeeping and waiter/waitress staff. Norris was decent when helped us with the $240 p/day ocean side gazebo. Lunch took nearly an hour to get our food the 1st times we ordered. Food quality at a group dinner was poor. All restaurants were horribly over priced.

The hotel is beautiful, but what really makes it my favorite is the people who work day in and day out to bring the perfect service, from breakfast, to turn down service and everyone in between. This staff makes me proud to be in customer service

Beach staff extremely rude and impolite. Hotel is old looking, needs remodel and updates to compete. Didn't try any of the restaurants since they all center around fish and crabs. Seek out some where else.

Beach is small but lovely. Restaurants are pricey and not much of a selection. The breakfast buffet is exceptional. Make sure you include that with your room when booking to make it affordable. Staff is great. Really lovely place.

I stayed at the Fairmont Orchid for 2 days with my partner in September 2017. We had high expectations of the Fairmont since it was voted one of the best hotels in Hawaii from Travel + Leisure.

The hotel's interior and room decor were dated - straight out of the 90's. The crowd was basic (like people who never travelled before) and the food was expensive and not up to par. On a positive note, the wait staff were very friendly, the grounds were well-maintained, and the sunsets at the hotel were just phenomenal.

Bottom line - This hotel needs some renovations to be considered a probably 4-star hotel. We didn't get our money's worth. I wouldn't stay here again.

The moment we arrived at the Fairmont Orchid, we were greeted with smiles. Every person we've encountered here has been gracious and kind. The service is impeccable, the food is delicious, and the beauty around this hotel is unmatched. There are birds, fish, and turtles to see. It's so comfortable and welcoming, I feel like I'm at home here. This place is worth every penny.

Just put up a swanky seaside hotel with the name "Fairmont," and charge ridiculous prices, and the upper class wannabees will flock to it. There are fortunately, real resorts on the other islands, that you won't mind paying an arm and a leg for if you have that kind of dough to burn.

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff. Prices for food and drink are very inflated, even for Hawaii. Food was average.$15.00 for a small mixed drink. $22.00 Nachos. I recommend renting a car and exploring the rest of the island for your daily activities and meals.

This is my first visit to Hawaii. I love how the resort is secluded from the hustle and bustle of the south side of the island. You truly feel like you are at an island paradise oasis. You could easily fill your whole trip with wonderful experiences and never have to leave the resort. The staff is amazing. Friendly and always greeting you with a big welcoming smile, like you're family there for a visit. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here to all of my friends and family.

I have stayed twice so far.

I have stayed twice so far.
At first we stayed on a honeymoon and stayed 2 nights on the tour dates.
Japanese people who want to go to Hawaii Island instead of Honolulu in the Hawaiian Islands are those who want to relax at the resort, but those who want to relax at the hotel are the best environment.
I stayed for 5 nights this time, but I was much more satisfied with being inside the hotel than staying outside.
If you want to go around the big island of Hawaii on a rental car or tour, the hotel is not worth the price.
There is pool and beach in hotel and there is enough activity and does not need to go outside.
There is no need to carry valuables with you, so you can enjoy your meals at any time.
There is a Japanese desk so you can rest assured, but it is not resident. I couldn't confirm the Japanese menu in the restaurant, so let's do my best.
There is a nearby supermarket for souvenirs and a shuttle bus is available.

Great hotel. Simple yet elegant. Great pool and beach. Love that we could snorkel right from the hotel beach. Turtles sunbath right on the beach. Friendly staff, fast valet and bellhops. Front desk could have used one more person every time we wanted to speak to someone at the front desk there was always at least a 10 minute wait. Pool bar made the best Mai Tai!

Big island mauna lani peomon orchid. Rooms are somewhat old-fashioned and calm and calm throughout the hotel. You can enjoy sea turtles and enjoy a paddle board at the private beach. The swimming pool swinging in the sea breezes blowing the Pacific Ocean is also wonderful. Breakfast is very good. It seems that there are a lot of family trips in Europe and the West. The Brown Cafe in the garden is great, but I enjoyed the casual dining Hale Kai by the pool. There is a small but souvenir shop and a panoramic view of the city when you go out to the city of kona by car. Travel destinations and hotels that I want to go to again.

A beautiful place! Pure relaxation - the Fairmont Orchid is by far my favorite hotel of all on our Hawaii trip. Very high quality; the beach is beautiful; Everything is very attentive and thoughtful to the guests. The breakfast was the best I have ever had - varied, delicious! Unlimited 5 stars. Keep it up!

This is a spectacular resort. If I recall correctly, all rooms at this Fairmont are suites. It's located near other luxury resorts and the beach is fairly private compared to other hotels. Golf course is beyond fabulous although there Easter hazard at one hole is rather difficult. The water is so beautiful that I didn't really mind too much though.

The staff was wonderful, the food at the restaurants delicious. So long as you like Macadamia nuts, you cannot go wrong. 5-star all the way, can't think of a single complaint.

Just passing by, we stopped for breakfast at the Orchid Court. The buffet is large and offers varied dishes, hot and cold, as well as a large selection of fruits. Rather expensive anyway, $ 36 per person, but it goes with the grandiose complex around I imagine ...

Service is incredible. All of the staff are extremely polite and courteous. We are here for my grandparents 50th anniversary and they upgraded them to a suite and sent them cupcakes and champagne as a surprise. Rooms are beautiful. Simple and elegant decor that is consistent around the entire property. Couldn't be happier

Absolutely overpriced. It took them 3 reminders and 4 hours to get an old dirty infant bed in our room, no pillows or blankets, great service. Cleaning is another thing, I could tell which cup I have used for the baby cereal. Bathroom wasn t clean either even the doors are dirty (ever heard of the power from baking soda?) Food is average and overpriced 33 bucks for breakfast per person plus tax and tip that makes almost 80 bucks just for breakfast for two. Are you crazy?

The best.

The best.
Turtles appear on the beach,
Snorkeling on the private beach,
It was so great to take a family picture.
The twin bed room was comfortable with 2 queen size beds.

Great Hotel with very nice view . We had a room with a view on the fairway (ideal for Ironman watching since it overlooks the T2 transition area). Staff were extremely helpful. We landed at 8am and our room was not available before 3PM but staff checked us in with no extra cost.
Beautiful pool for hotel guests and a sma; private lagoon if you want to swim in the sea.

We arrived at Farimont Orcid at the tail end of Hurricane Lane and were not quite sure what to expect. From the moment we arrived we received amazing attention at check in with Christian who, inspite of working a few extra shifts due to storm, was delightful and funny and made us feel right at home. We highly recommend the complimentary morning hikes; we were fortunate to have Elijah for both the Petroglyph and Cultural hikes as well as the morning Canoe fishing excersion. He was a very knowledgeable and engaging beach "ambassador" - we learned so much! We indulged in a massage at the Spa without walls and it was worth every penny. I highly recommend Lily's healing hands - she is amazing. Other highlights were the turn down service, nightly torch lighting ceremony and of course the Honu (turtle) beach and manta ray viewing each night. We will definitley return!
