Replacing and older less positive review. Having gone back a few more times, service has improved a lot, and are really trying to do better.
Some excellent unique beers, and some decent lunch specials, like the deep fried BBQ ribs.

Super great place. They have a kids area which is amazing. The service was a little rough, no one told us about the kids area and we couldn't see what our daughter kept pointing to so we didn't figure it out till we had given up having a nice dinner and we're leaving without having eaten. This will be our place to go in the future whenever we come down to Eugene. Great drinks/appetizers/dinners and next time we can do desert and maybe eat it too, all while the kids play house and serve up their own play dinners.

Hit or miss. Just went in, no one greeted us. There was a sign that says "order at counter"which was confusing bc it's never been that way the other 2 times I've been there. And no one to ask questions to. There were about 6 available tables but they were all extremely dirty. Additionally, the fried pickles and nacho dip appetizers are both disgusting.

Patio filled up super quick. There was only one waitress our there to begin and she kept her cool and took care of everyone as fast as possible until 2 other waitresses came to help take orders and serve drinks.

A wonderful experience. The service by Anna was great. The Linguine with white clam sauce was super and the Shrimp Diavolo was to die for. The drinks were perfect. For a Sunday night this was so unexpected that it made our entire Patriots won day. Don't miss it

Ok so I love love love LOVE that they have beer that's affordable with working wages. $3 a pint? Please never change that. The bartenders know their beer, it's a great setup inside as long as you don't mind a hunting lodge vibe, and they serve some good food (burgers, sandwiches, etc) as well

Our waitress was awesome. She was very friendly and was attentive when she had time. She was the only waitress and the whole building was full. The food could have been much better. Either it was overcooked or flavorless. I gave it two shots and was not impressed.I love the rustic look of the environment a very welcome place to be.

Excellent food and service. I'm vegan and their Reuben with seitan is awesome! They also have great ciders, I'm not a beer drinker, but they have many brews. The manager is always on top of any issue and takes great care of his customers. I highly recommend this place.

Just went for a quick bite with appetizers. The pretzel with beer cheese sauce and stone ground mustard is an easy winner. The dirty fries were great too. Been there several times and not been disappointed yet. Always something good to drink too. Their beer doesn't disappoint.

Simple place to grab a decent lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Great beer, the service was very friendly, the food was good (nothing fancy but it was hot and fresh and good!) I'm a recent transplant from San Diego where we take pride in our food and (moreso) our beer. This place is OK in my book, I'll be back.

It's about time someone opened a lodge like place in Eugene. The ribs were the best we have eaten in the northwest and the elk burger was better than the ones I make myself. Service was top notch and the cider was the best I have ever tasted.
If you have not been there yet, you must go.
My new favorite place in Eugene.

I stayed in a hotel close to this great restaurant for a week. The highlight of our week was looking forward to dinner eating at the Elk Horn Brewery. Plenty of microbrews that they make to choose from. I couldn't find one that I didn't like. I'm looking forward to going back to Eugene to do some work so that I can finish trying everything on the menu.

Other than making the mistake of sitting in the "family section" downstairs it was a positive experience. We moved upstairs to the "adult" where it was less chaotic. The southern accent on the offerings made for a nice change of pace. The fried pickles were appealing to me. The chicken sandwich is first rate. Many other nice offerings on the menu. Great cider offerings, the best I've seen around town for sure.

I had the chicken wings with the stout bbq sauce.. fricken delicious! Also, i had cajun seasoned fries. The fries were surprisingly crispy for how big they were which is awesome! Did a taster flight because a lot of their brews sounded good. If you are a cider and peach fan, try the peachy Perry. OMG delicious. Service was great, attentive. Will definitely come back if I'm in town!

Ordered the Dirty Burger with Dirty fries. It was missing all of the cheese and sauce. I literally ate a plain patty with a few tots and a bun. Also paid $3 extra for dirty fries that came plain. This was delivered through GrubHub so unfortunately I couldn't return it. $25 for a burger that was completely inedible. Fries were decent but not what I ordered. I sure hope this isn't the standard for burgers around here. Yuck!

Elk Horn Brewery made a pregnancy joke about having twins for April Fools on their Facebook page. My family and I have struggled severely with infertility and miscarriages (five miscarriages so far now) so I posted to their page about it about their joke. It s pretty well known by now pregnancy jokes aren t funny on April fools. I mean, they re not funny any other day of the year so I m not sure what the appeal is about April Fools. Below is the owner s response.

Five miscarriages, one beautiful birth to an amazing son, running a wonderful business, and jokes/laughter... and a strong female run business... I RUN A STRONG and local FEMALE owned business. Protest somewhere else!

Really glad she s been so lucky. Others have not. And I expect a more sympathetic response especially coming from a woman and an owner of a business.

Omg Elk Horn is the best! Definitely a go-to in Eugene. The country platter is so delicious, and 2 people could easily split it and have left overs. Great atmosphere and drinks. Love supporting great local businesses!

Love this place so much!! Dirty Fries are really good...they are my favorite thing...I always order delivery through Grub Hub or Order Up (Hungry Ducks)...it always tastes great when delivered, so it would probably be ridiculously good eating at the restaurant

I ordered a elk burger and was very dissatisfied, the burger was very, very dry. I guess they don't believe in any kind of dressing ? I also ordered hush puppies ? I have never had them before so I have nothing to compare to but all they are is deep fried dough, no flavor to them at all ! The only reason I am giving the restaurant 2 stars is because the meat was cooked properly per my order. Also I ordered from grubhub and there were no menu options for beverages ? Not sure what's up with that ! Overall very disappointed and to top it all off it was a $45 meal YIKES ! Never again !

Good service, we love the southern food and smoked meats and beer. The atmosphere is the best in town. I like the beer sampler and tasting the bourbons.
My wife and I have enjoyed date night here a few times as well have brought other family. They will be returning as well.

fair disclosure... I walked out... it seems like the food is pretty legit, but we walked in, waited until we were directed to a "please wait to be seated" sign that wasn't visible from the entrance... were told to wait by the girl at the counter, after a while a guy told the people behind us to sit wherever they saw a seat, and on the way to sit we were told by a second guy to go back and talk to the first guy... so take your chances, but it's a bit of chaos.

I really want this place to be better. It's got a great location and concept, but the beer and cider quality has varied wildly and the food's inventive but overpriced. I go a couple times a year, hoping they'll improve, and have thus far been disappointed.

Had this place on Tuesday. I travel to Eugene twice a week and have started sampling all the restaurant options for lunch.

First of all, the pulled pork sandwich I had was SOO good. It's like it was perfectly juicy, and then also not sloppy. It also had a ton of meat on it which is a plus, and every bite was full of flavor.

My french fries were seasoned with some good Cajun stuff , and they had a homemade ketchup that was incredible. I kinda wish they sold bottles of that ketchup; it was very unique and tasty.

The value was surprisingly good here. When I pulled up, I saw big meat-smokers in the back and figured this would be some expensive bbq place. However, I paid about what I'd expect at maybe a Red Robbins but got the kind of quality food I'd expect at twice the price.

Unfortunately, I did not taste their beer, since I had a long drive on i5 ahead of me.

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants... I really wish it were closer to home.

Unique options, lodge-y atmosphere inside and nice patio outside. A group of friends and I go every Tuesday (beers are $2.50!) and we always have the same waitress who remembers us and is super friendly and gives good recommendations.

Only con is food is a little overpriced, and veggie options are limited.

An inventive brew list complemented by a menu that hits across soul food, bbq, game meats, Pacific northwest cuisine and classic pub grub. The deep fried pickle chips with house dill ranch were the unexpected star of my last visit there. Beer list goes from hoppy NW IPAs to easy drinking pales to funky Belgians to wine barrel aged ciders. There's a lot to choose from but even the basic burger is rock-solid.

I had a burger here and it was pretty good though I'm not much for red meat. It's got a old western kind of feel to it and is nice if you like that kind of decor. The food and drinks were a bit pricey, I felt I over paid but I'm willing to try a new place. The restaurant was clean and the servers quick and efficient and friendly.

I feel for my visit was in the middle. Good beer and enjoyed the fries we got. But the $16 burger wasn t worth $16 but it still tasted good. Our server was nice but wasn t on top of her game with keeping our waters full when the place it s self was pretty empty on Easter/fools day. But it s wasn t to bad but I wanted to try it so I did but won t be going back just cause it s on the speedy side and I can t do places like that much.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received ...

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. We arrived after a football game, with 6 people. Were told there would be a 10-15 minute wait for a table - we were finally seated after nudging the hostess 50 minutes later, only to sit at our table and watch the waitress pass us over for another 20 minutes. We finally flagged her down at which point we were informed rudely that she had two other tables in front of us and we couldn't order drinks or appetizers. We considered leaving at this point when the hostess herself eventually came over and asked if we wanted to order drinks or appetizers...but still couldn't order entrees. Eventually, 1.5 hours after we arrived, we were able to order food from a condescending waitress who acted as if she was doing us a favor taking our request. I've had a great experience here before with excellent BBQ but this has soured me on the establishment considerably.

The place is great, I go there all the time and I highly recommend it, however, lunch may not be the best time to go. Normally the service is very good but at lunch time they have you order at the counter, no big deal but they took 20 minutes or so to bring me my drink. Served the person who ordered after me before me and it took almost 30 minutes to get my food. All I ordered was a pretzel, which is fantastic but today it was only warm instead of piping hot, probably because it sat a good 15 minutes before it was served to me. I still like the place, I just recommend going after 5 so you'll get table service and they'll have a full staff on.
