The Elk Horn Brewery Review

Elk Horn is a great little brewery, located pretty close to UO campus. The beer is outstanding, and they do some collaboration with detering orchards. The perfect 10 IPA is one of the best IPAs I've had at any smaller brewery. The food is pretty standard pub fare, but the burgers are excellent and you can get them to go. The patio is a nice place to hang out as well and the downstairs has toys for kids. Overall I would definitely recommend it.

Food is amazing and the beer is even better. I occasionally visit Eugene and this is top of my list..

Soup spice a d supposed to come with pretzel bites and got 4 very small chunks

My family and I come here frequently. This time was the worst service and rudeness I have ever experienced. I don't work hard for my money and spend $50 on lunch to get attitude from an employee because I asked what part of the chicken does the special come with. I guess we all find a new favorite spot.

Gumbo didnt have any shrip in it should be more spicy then sweet! Gumbo is suppose to be spicy not sweet. And the bbq sause should be more spicy then vinegar sweet.

Great beer and great service. I like the feeling of the place. Sadly I found a long blonde hair in my dinner tonight (I'm not blonde) which ruined my experience. The wait staff handled it appropriately and took it off the bill. I have had issues with the food in the past. Front of house: A+

Slow service being seated took for ever to get drinks ,decided best to order food at the same time as our drinks due to the wait. The beer was excellent. When our food arrived burger was medium rare not,well done as requested. The hush puppies that went with the catfish were raw and,running inside . .

This place was awesome! We went for lunch while we were in from out of town. The decor is cool, there is a tiny corner downstairs with stuff for small children to play with and games (connect 4, jenga) for older kids. Awesome beer that you can sample first. But the food.....was amazing. We shared the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato) and added smoked turkey. Side of rosemary fries and $1 wednesday wings. Staff was awesome and friendly. Can't say enough good about this place!!

This place is amazing and one of the few places you can get real elk. Also has a great selection of craft beer and ciders.

VERY pleased with our trip here. The crawfish ettoufe was comparable to Ponchatulas in Ruston Louisiana (high compliment). The beer was very tasty and refreshing. Ambiance was great. Service was top notch. I will certainly return.

Sorta dumb, I walked in and sat, waitress just looked at me..... so I walked up to the counter (after 10 minutes) and asked what kind of place is this? So for everyone going it's a fast food brew house.

Great location and atmosphere. It's a brewery stop, with good food. Rare combo. The fried okra was fresh and flavorful. So was the Western burger. I'm coming back. Great collection of beer. Kira was a super waitress.

Catfish dinner good and plenty. Hamburger meat tasted good but weird texture. Won't order again. Fries we're the best! All the dipping sauces were great including the ranch.

We have been there many times and really enjoyed it, especially the elk burger. Last time we went kind of ruined it. We had a family party of 8 people, including our 10 month old son. We brought him a snack to keep him quiet and happy before our food arrived. We all ordered appetizers, drinks, entrees, and even a side for the baby. Once we received the bill, we noticed a charge for "open food". Maybe we were too sensitive, but it seemed unnecessary considering his age and the amount we spent. We go to many restaurants in Eugene and this has never happened before. We definitely won't go back and won't recommend it to those with young children.

I am currently having my engagement party here. The pork rinds and wings are crispy. The pretzel is classic dipped in a spicy queso. The meat is juicy. These flavors will blow your mind.

The place is really cool! Decor is amazing. Big screens with games on. 6 pages of drinks and 2 pages of food! 2 stories with outdoor seating area. Huge firepit. Awesome beers. Great place to eat with a unique menu! Elk burgers and all! I really like this place. Only downfall was was the service. It was terrible! But food and drink was amazing. A must check out while your in Eugene. Right by Red Lion and Phoenix Inn!!

I don't usually write reviews, but after going here the other night, and having a bad experience I felt the need. My food took an hour to come out, and was unbelievably greasy and not good. I then went on google to see other reviews and saw the owner passively aggressively replying to bad reviewers, and even threatening to contact a reviewers place of work. I don't recommend going here. There are plenty of other great places to eat

Fantastic service, the food is wonderful...and the beer was Amazing. Very family friendly, they have a play house down stairs and a kitchen play area. Many kids books and board games as well. A wonderful experience.

This is a great place to go if you like unique food and outdoor dining(plenty of room with 12 tables, fidelity, waterfall feature). The inside is pretty cool too. The out door dining is next to the road, but it feels very relaxing and it isn't very loud. Staff is friendly and attentive. The crowd is a pleasant mix of laid back people.... old guys getting together after a round of golf, 30ish couples wearing t shirts with their favorite microbrew, butch lesbian group throwing back some pints. Cool menu items include "dirty fries; french fries drizzled with beer cheese and white cheddar cheese," and "The Elkaholic; half pound of house ground elk burger....". Overall, very cool place with great food and laid back people.

Outstanding experience! This place is legit and if you're in Eugene you have to try it! We'll be back every time we visit! Food is delicious and has incredible flavors! Wide variety to choose from and beer selection can't be beat! Service was fantastic and employees were super helpful and knowledgeable about what they serve.

Pulled pork and pulled chicken were amazing. Shrimp Po'Boy to die for. Chicken 'n Waffles best we've ever tasted. Makers Mark Burger was delicious. Wings in all four flavors were great but the Cherry Coke and Stout BBQ were worth mentioning. Fries are seasoned well and thick cut and the house made chips are unreal. Made fresh daily. Tots weren't seasoned but they were good... Definitely the only thing we ordered that wasn't absolutely bursting with flavor.

Go in to watch a game, have some food or get a beer. You'll regret it if you don't!

The service is slow and the food is mediocre for the cost.

The Quinoa Burger was pretty good, however, it comes with a thick slab of grilled green pepper that is slimy and way over cooked. The actual patty was really good though. Friendly staff and ok service. A bit pricy for the quality IMO.

Our waiter was very nice and helpful and attentive. However, the service was very slow! The food was mediocre and if you are looking for healthy food, go elsewhere.

Tight picnic tables if there are large parties upstairs. Ribs were sold out early in the night so wasn't available at 7 pm. (Only sold on weekends). Food was tasty and servers friendly.

Food was good, service was great, drinks were outstanding. Overall a great meal, and family friendly.

We absolutely love this place. We visit 2-3 times a month and always enjoy it. Everything about this place is 5 stars from service, atmosphere, and quality.

My partners and I just went to this brewery today and had a delightful time. I got the Ruben sandwich, which was very yummy. My partners both had burgers and also enjoyed their food. The French fries were very tasty, and all three of us loved the aioli.
We had a fantastic waitress who gave us great advice as to the food and tap menu. She was amazing at her job.
The three of us all agreed that we would be going back soon.

Ordered 3 burgers medium rare, got 3 burgers burnt, hard and dry, they were so bad they had shriveled to about half the diameter of the buns, no way did the cook not notice the pieces of charcoal they were about to serve. At 15 dollars a pop you'd be better off going to a McDonalds at least they can cook the food properly.

Elk horn continues to be the best spot for excellent food and the best beer! Even through these crazy times the staff is awesome and they re meeting and exceeding safety protocol which makes it a good choice for those especially concerned love u guys!

Yummy cheese curds and pork rinds. The beer cheese soup was so-so. Found a few beers we liked. This is a place where you order at the bar and they bring it to you so not full service. Nice patio area. BUT, I didn't realize until I got home that she overcharged us on our beers. This is after pouring us the wrong beer on our flight. Ugh. If we go again, I will be more careful!

Macaroni and cheese was very bland the pulled pork was on the dry side.

Good food and really excellent beer. The bar was out of several different beer options that I tried to order though, so that was annoying, but the options they did have were good. Prices seem a little more spendy than I would usually pay at a brew pub, but the quality seemed good!

Just busy enough to feel like a Friday night out, but as relaxing an atmosphere as a hunting lodge honeymoon for two. Amazing drinks and food so good you'll forget your name.

The beer is spectacular. Try the pilsner. I didn't order food however. Nothing looked very appetizing. This is by no means a knock on the establishment. Just my own ignorance. The service was top notch.

An all out SLEEPER! great clean food and beer although not flawless with a Jamaican/Creole fusion emphasis. The elk tacos & kale salad was amazing.
Service was incredible with Kent quarterbacking like the best of the Duck's quarterbacks. Beautiful personable customer service :) A must go for Eugene

There is no host/hostess or manager anywhere. We stood there waiting to be greeted for over 5 minutes. A server finally yelled to us from the kitchen area that we could sit anywhere but they close at 9. We looked at each other and then the server and asked, well can we eat? We were told yes, but they close at 9. It was 8:30. We should have left right then, but we gave it a chance. We both ordered the special, the same way. We even ordered the same beer to make it easy on the server and kitchen since we were obviously imposing, giving them our business, our hard earned money, we owe them apparently! Our waiter ditched our table mid service to clean and handed off our table to a fellow server. No ketchup with our burgers, no server to check on us. I had to walk to the kitchen and wait for someone to notice me to get ketchup. Overall, please don't rush your patrons when you are still open. Its rude and it really sucks to be treated that way.

Good food and drinks. A little more expensive than other brewpubs and can get busy neather of which has kept us from going back.

They have amazingly beer/cider and even better food!

Great place for food and some great cider. We loved the ambiance and our server (girl from Missouri) was attentive and just a sweetheart! I highly recommend the gumbo!! My wife had the pulled pork sandwiche which was excellent! We're looking forward to our next visit.

Ordered The Dirty Burg and when it was delivered it was plain......no cheese, no curds just 10 bacon bits and tatertots on an over cooked burger. You would think they would pay attention to orders delivered thru a service because the only option is refund and not fix it. So I'm out 20 bucks, working a 10 hour day with a gross dry burger for dinner. Thanks Elk Horn Brewery! Good lookin' out.

I have always loved this place, but today was extra special.

I was excited to have a good lunch. I don't get out much and it's my birthday so I justified spending money on myself. The dish I normally get, was no longer available :( I got the chicken and waffle which was no longer a sandwich and was way expensive now. Again it's my birthday so just get it right? $17 for a chicken and waffle was way high for what I got. I'm so disappointed. Always had a great experience. Today is just not going so well.

Wonderful atmosphere. Wait was long, but in all fairness, we were there on a crazy-busy night. Owners are lovely people, food was delicious, beer and drinks were plentiful, and wait staff was attentive and courteous. We will be returning!

Food is good, just didnt feel the value was there for the price. Craft beer, full bar, animal heads... good times. Edit: After visiting Eugene more and more I feel the pricing is good... seems like the going rate for a growing town. I'm itching to get some chicken and waffles.

Food is delicious. I was surprised to find collard greens this far north and so delicious. Service is excellent as well.

Had a flight of several beers and ciders, and they were all great. The Nutella Stout was one of the better stouts I've had! We also had some kind of fries which were basically a form of Poutine.

We ordered our food and beverages at the counter, then they brought our order to us on the upper level. The environment was wonderful, and the experience was fantastic. We'll definitely be going again next time we're in Eugene!

Simple elevated pub fare with a bevy of slightly better than average beer options. Nothing mind blowing here, but a lot of solid stuff. The smoked meats were great, pulled park and tri tip hit the spot. The beers are nice, but none were spectacular. You can get a big flight of tasters for pretty cheap. They have a few cider options as well, but I didn't try them. Good service and an interesting decor.

The food was very good beer even better great place to meet friends for dinner and drinks.

I originally ordered from GH for a delivery from here, with an hour and a half later delivery time. 15 minutes before it was to be delivered, I received a text that it was canceled by GH. I called Elk Horn and spoke to Ruby, who said it was ready and waiting and she didn't know why they canceled it. I went and picked it up myself and was so impressed with the food and how helpful Ruby was. I highly recommend Elk Horn for not only their food, but their customer service!!! Thanks Ruby!

This is such a great place to hang out with friends and have a beer. Tons of beer on tap and a full bar. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was great. I had the elk tacos and was really pleased with how tasty they were. You can't go wrong here. Everything looked great and the ambiance is awesome.

Great service, food, and beers! Highly recommend the tri-tip sandwich. They smoke the meat on site and really tasty horseradish sauce and au jus for dipping. Locally sourced sandwich bread was delicious. Rosemary fries with ranch was also amazing. Really enjoyed the IPA tasters - my favorite was the Perfect 10.

This place has BBQ that they smoke themselves right on site. I had 2 pulled pork specials on delicious bread with fresh coleslaw, Jo-jo style French fries, house made BBQ seasoned chips, Nashville hot chicken, 2 kids meals with drinks, rasberry ice tea, and 3 house made delicious beers.... All for around 42.00 Tuesday happy hour! I'll go again and again!

Amazing service, delicious food, great drinks! We will be coming back again and again. If you haven't been here before you must try it out! My hubby and I had ribs and brisket top notch amazing! Also the beer cheese soup outdoes any other brewery in town!!!! The live music was so great for our date night!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could!

The food is over priced but okay. What I had an issue with was how long everything took. If you're going to go make sure you have plenty of time.

Great food and ambiance. My family really enjoyed coming here and the chicken and waffles were amazing . Theres also lot of games and a play area for children. My only recommendation is to improve the service here. If you have great service this would have earned 5 stars.

Overcooked, dry burger, frozen french fries, soggy tomatoes and wilted lettuce. At least the bun was good because that was the majority of the burger anyway.

Place is unique. I seat close to the children area and it was perfect. Enjoy the samplers. Everything taste amazing.
