Beautiful hotel so peaceful and so well run with very friendly unobtrusive staff who gave us such good advice regarding where to eat and what to do during our stay. We ate in the Occo at the hotel and the food was very good. Our room was beautiful lovely extra large and extra comfy bed and a bathroom to die for. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay extra special. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would live to return one day

I had a Jr. Suite over looking the canal - see photo of my view (2 nights). The room was wonderful, the bathroom was pretty sweet, but most of all this is a true boutique hotel. It's charming and friendly atmosphere and design sense make the common spaces and lounges a pleasure to hang out it in (with a great bar). The staff are extremely pro, and friendly. All this without yet mentioning the food - which is top notch; they have a great brasserie (with excellent wines) in Occo and then there is Vinkeles Restaurant. Even if you don't stay, definitely stop in at the bar or bistro, or make special dinner reservations at Vinkeles.

Formerly known as Blakes Hotel, then owned and designed by Anouska Hempel (Lady Weinberg), the renowned British designer, this was the first of Amsterdam's boutique hotels.

Sometimes referred to as Amsterdam's best kept secret, The Dylan is situated on the site of a former alms house, behind an imposing 17th century archway, on Keizersgracht canal, in the heart of the 9 streets area. This was the first building on Keizersgracht, the Emperor's canal, as a theatre called Duytsche Academie, which attracted royalty and nobility from all over the world.

The 40 room 5 star hotel is a favourite haunt of discerning travellers, together with visiting celebrities and performers who can make a discreet exit on Prinsengracht canal if they so wish. There are boat landing docks both in front and behind the hotel.

Guests receive a welcome drink upon arrival and can choose from 4 different room styles. At the heart of the hotel is a beautiful secluded hidden courtyard. There is a magnificent wooden beamed lounge with sumptuous leather armchairs and a large open fire place.

In addition to two private dining rooms, The Dylan boasts two stunning restaurants.

Bar Brasserie OCCO is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. High Wine, the hotel's own take on High Tea, is served daily between 3.30 and 5.30 pm, consisting of four outstanding wine and food pairings. Also on offer are cocktails prepared with homemade non-alcoholic gin - "VirGin", described as 'The hype without the hangover'.

Restaurant Vinkeles is housed in a former bakkery from the 1700's and retains many of the original features. Serving a combination of traditional and modern French cuisine, this superb Michelin star restaurant offers the ultimate in food and beverages.

Hotel guests wishing to tour the city in the traditional manner can make use of one of The Dylan's bicycles with extra wide tyres to travel in style and comfort.

I'm maybe not the most objective person since I love Amsterdam, but this little, very upscale hotel is worth the top dollar price they ask. Don't hesitate to dine there, the chef is excellent.

Everything perfect. The decor has a great design. You relax immediately. Feels good. The staff are very friendly and take care of the guests, without being intrusive. The breakfast is excellent, the rooms are by Dutch standards unusually large. And very tastefully decorated. Highly recommended.

A wonderful stay from start to finish. Super warm and welcoming staff. Beautiful appointments in public areas and rooms are creatively designed. The best hotel towels I've every experienced in years of travel. The neighborhood is well situated for access to all parts of Amsterdam. This was our third trip the city and we love its relaxed vibe, culture and beauty. Hopefully we'll return and stay at The Dylan again.

As bespoke as the setting and as personalized the service, The Dylan feels totally warm and welcoming. Living here, even for a night or two, allows you to feel as if you are a veritable resident of a canal house although everything inside has been updated to appeal to 21st century five-star luxury hotel tastes and sensibilities (even free wireless throughout the hotel).

Not only the hotel but also this vibrant neighborhood has an incredibly rich history dating back generations. I later read that Peter the Great stayed at house number 317 and John Adams stayed at house number 529.

A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, The Dylan offers its guests an unforgettable, contemporary twist on the quintessential canal house stay as well as a brush with history.

Bar tender from NYC amazing full of historical facts regarding our choice of drink.

We did not eat in hotel only stayed 2 nights.
I never sleep well away from home but I slept like a log in my comfortable bed and cotton bedding.
Oh almost forgot bathroom was outstanding.
I would also like to say thank you to the staff who cleaned my room refreshed my coffee and turned my bed down every night. You do an amazing job.

If you want to stay anywhere in dam I highly recommend the Dylan for its cleanliness and family/friendly staff. Not only is it a 10min walk to all the busy streets which in my opinion was perfect.

Thank you for a lovely trip the Dylan
