Formerly known as Blakes Hotel, then owned and designed by Anouska Hempel (Lady Weinberg), the renowned British designer, this was the first of Amsterdam's boutique hotels.

Sometimes referred to as Amsterdam's best kept secret, The Dylan is situated on the site of a former alms house, behind an imposing 17th century archway, on Keizersgracht canal, in the heart of the 9 streets area. This was the first building on Keizersgracht, the Emperor's canal, as a theatre called Duytsche Academie, which attracted royalty and nobility from all over the world.

The 40 room 5 star hotel is a favourite haunt of discerning travellers, together with visiting celebrities and performers who can make a discreet exit on Prinsengracht canal if they so wish. There are boat landing docks both in front and behind the hotel.

Guests receive a welcome drink upon arrival and can choose from 4 different room styles. At the heart of the hotel is a beautiful secluded hidden courtyard. There is a magnificent wooden beamed lounge with sumptuous leather armchairs and a large open fire place.

In addition to two private dining rooms, The Dylan boasts two stunning restaurants.

Bar Brasserie OCCO is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. High Wine, the hotel's own take on High Tea, is served daily between 3.30 and 5.30 pm, consisting of four outstanding wine and food pairings. Also on offer are cocktails prepared with homemade non-alcoholic gin - "VirGin", described as 'The hype without the hangover'.

Restaurant Vinkeles is housed in a former bakkery from the 1700's and retains many of the original features. Serving a combination of traditional and modern French cuisine, this superb Michelin star restaurant offers the ultimate in food and beverages.

Hotel guests wishing to tour the city in the traditional manner can make use of one of The Dylan's bicycles with extra wide tyres to travel in style and comfort.
