We went to the Dime, a restaurant inside of the Renaissance. Unfortunately, they didn't have the particular meal we were going there for (menu soon changing according to the kind bar tender who helped us), so we left after a drink. Good drinks, good food, just an unfortunate cirumstance.

NOT SENIOR FRIENDLY:

NOT SENIOR FRIENDLY:
We arrived 4/27/19 for a wedding reception. After leaving our car @ valet parking there was no ramp only steps to get to hotel lobby. We checked in, got to 5th floor and was confronted with 5 doors with no security door marked for room entrances. the card reader was on the elevator wall with no labeling either. When we figured it out on our own we got to our room, which was fine. There was no hotel guide so we had no idea what the hotel offered. There was an I pad but it didn't work( I did pole some of the other guests in our party and they had the same problem) the bathroom shower/tub combo had no security bars for assistance. When we left the next morning they could not find my car as the attendant who parked it the day before put the wrong stub in my car which didn't match the one I had. To rap this up I would not recommend your hotel to anyone in our age group, because it is confusing and somewhat unsafe for us seniors, we are 80 and healthy BUT!

A suggestion: you should cater a little bit more to the senior group because they are, in general, have money to stay in your high end hotel

Sincerely,
Jack Sell

The wait for valet was really long and was backed up the whole block. There were no signs to indicate we were in valet. People were getting out of their cars to go up the block and check. The hotel overbooked, so the room I selected was not available. The hotel doors close quickly, I missed getting on one after people cleared out since no one held the door. Room service brought me English breakfast tea instead of the chamomile I ordered and it had a coffee taste to it. Was the hot water run through a coffee machine? No water or hot beverage is available in lobby, you either have to pull the Keurig out of a cabinet, which is bad for you and the environment (and probably also has a coffee flavor if using it to make hot water for tea), or else walk across the street to Starbucks in the morning (which everyone in the hotel seemed to do). Sadly Starbucks closes at 6 pm. So no evening tea there. Also it's nice to save on electric and only have the power on when the room key is in the slot, but the room was too stuffy and warm when we arrived. A minimum amount of room temp control should be maintained. At check out they won't leave the luggage cart in your room since we weren't quite ready, said it was against policy. So we had to rush so we'd be ready when he came back in a few minutes and I ended up forgetting my face wash in the shower.

The positive is it was clean, nice decor and very convenient for the concert. Although there were no obvious stairs for going up after the show and the line for the elevator was long. Also we were on the 8th floor and I could hear the concert when it started. If I wasn't there for the show that would have been very annoying. Additionally, the barn door for the bathroom is cute, but it does not fully shut or have any latch to it for ensured privacy if you're sharing a room.

The customer service was excellent, the air freshener in the lobby is refreshing, the room decor is cool and industrial like. They have a wonderful place to get breakfast. The location is in downtown Allentown. Easily accessible to museums, food, and drinks.

Very cool hotel, in a revitalized section of Allentown. Attached to the PPL center, a great place to stay while attending an event next door. Easy parking with direct access to the hotel. Great staff, very friendly and efficient. I ordered extra towels, and they arrived in less than 5 minutes. Lots of places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.

What a wonderful new addition to downtown Allentown. Felt like we were in New York or Philly. Brand new- industrial chic design with great details and good location which allowed us to enjoy walking around and visiting all the other restaurants and bars along the street (don't miss the Dime at the Renaissance though). Will definitely be back.

Beautiful property, seems very new and is in the center of a market district with lots of restaurant options. Free self parking if you are a guest at the hotel, valet is affordable at $10 per night.

Amazing hotel. Super secure requiring a key card to enter each floor from the elevators. Best beds and sheets I've ever had in a hotel. Would absolutely recommend the Renaissance to anyone looking for a great hotel in Allentown. Only negative is the sliding wood doors on the bathroom. Really cool concept but they don't seal completely, allowing "noises" to be heard in the rest of the room.

Modern and clean rooms. Great service. Only problem I had with this place was they charge $16 per day for valet service, but their set up is so weird. First time I arrived at the hotel I actually drove past the hotel looking for the valet area. Each time after that you pull up to valet, there is no one to greet you. You actually have to go inside and find someone to give your key to them, and get a ticket for the valet. It's like self parking almost. I valet at every hotel I stay at and I don't think $16 per day is outrageous. However, for that price, they need to find a better set up for their valet service. Otherwise they should be charging a lot less per day for the valet service they are providing right now.

P.S. I have to admit they fixed their valet service while I was still staying at the hotel. Maybe they realized it on their own. Who knows. All I know is that my only complaint about this hotel was fixed. So, it's five stars for me.

Clean hotel with friendly staff. The rooms includes most amenities like a mini fridge. The iPad used for alarm clock seemed a bit pointless. You are suppose to be able to order service from it, but mine claimed the room had no guest. It is a slight trip getting from the hotel to the parking garage. The lounge is stocked with water, soda, and fruit.

This is a nice hotel in downtown Allentown right next too and adjoining the PPL Center where they have hockey games. The building is a converted office building and gives the hotel a lot of character. If you happen to arrive when there is a game it is valet parking only for $16. The room was nice, clean, artistically decorated and the bed was comfortable. There is a fancy restaurant on the 3rd floor. Everything in the hotel is relatively new and fully digital, i.e. nothing is printed anything instead there is a tablet in the room which I found hard to use. Our only disappointment was that there is no pool; which we were expecting based on the description from hotels, com.

I was there for a focus group. We were on the 5th floor. It is gorgeous. The restrooms are awesome. Great food, coffee. Employees were all very nice. I also parked in the parking garage, a little pricey but very convenient.

Was there for a holiday party. The Hotel and The Dime were beautiful. We were in a private room catered by the adjoining restaurant. The food and environment was very nice. The staff was pleasant and helpful as well.

Excellent, inviting decor in rooms and common areas. Everyone was very friendly and courteous, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. Only nitpick was how confusing it was walking from the parking garage through the huge winding corridors to the lobby. If ever in Allentown again, would definitely go back to the Renaissance

A very modern-ish looking hotel. Wasn't too keen on the sliding "barndoor" for the bathroom/closet since it doesn't close all the way. The showers were pretty nice. The food served during breakfast and at the restaurant were better than expected. Just don't expect a warm welcome from the hostess. Who knows, maybe she was just having an off-day. Waitress was nice though. The valets were either understaffed on Sunday or it was bad luck with timing but it took 45 minutes to get our car. Make sure to call ahead instead of waiting outside. Overall though, it was a nice stay and a pretty decent location.

Elegant and comfortable hotel in the center of Allentown, right in front of the obelisk dedicated to the fallen of the American Civil War. Spacious and clean rooms in perfect North American style, breakfast must be ordered to the attendants, not to the buffet. Overall at the hotel but terribly slow to arrive at the table. If you are in a hurry to leave the hotel it is good to warn the staff: you risk being nailed to the table for half an hour for a scrambled egg with two slices of beacon.

Rooms were very clean. Front desk service was very courteous. Only downfall/minor complaint is the valet takes 15-20 minutes to retrieve your vehicle. It is clearly posted that it takes this long though so we were prepared for it.

Went to this hotel for the hockey game that was taking place right underneath which was really cool. Cant give it 5/5 because while I was trying to get a parking spot in the hotel parking lot the lady at the booth was being a real pain. She didn't seem to understand that I was staying at the hotel with family and that I am going to the hotel so I can park here. She didn't let me park and i had to then do a U-turn in the garage and turn around to park at another garage up the street. Not a huge deal but surly and inconvenience, since it was about 30 degrees out and walking 2 blocks kinda sucked. Would have given it lower stars but I'm not sure if the lady was there for the even or worked for the hotel.

We only stayed for 1 night but it was awesome. We are from Maryland and drove 2.5 hours to see a concert at PPL Center. The hotel is connected so we didn't have to even have to wait in any crazy lines outside in the cold to go in. The room was beautiful too. Everything was amazing down to the littlest detail in design. Not to mention clean! And the staff was nothing but attentive to us and any questions or needs we had. A+ from us and we will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Allentown !!

Awful Awful service! The hotel has no idea what they are doing. We booked for 4 people and they put us in a room with ONE BED! Then they overcharged me THEN they said they took off the overcharge, just checked my statement and they DOUBLE charged me. Oh yeah they also ran out of towel. The hotel is pretty but the service is so terrible I would rather stay at a motel.

First time staying here. Very nice, clean, modern hotel right in the middle of Center City Allentown. Room was tidy and large. Two beds. Very comfortable. A little too over the top with the modern industrial look but that's just an esstetic issue for me.

We were in town for a wedding being held in the hotel. It's one of the most beautiful/trendy hotels I've ever seen. Every last detail in the decor is impeccable. The service staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant & bar is a new favorite of mine. And the wedding?? It's a dream venue... Absolutely perfect!

I don't have much reason to go to Allentown, but this hotel is a pretty good reason to go there. The hotel has a modern industrial chic interior, and the sweet I had was pretty awesome. The hotel is located near decent restaurants and an arena. I hope Marriott brings all the Renaissance Hotels up to this standard.

The hotel shares parking with an adjacent event center. There is no allotted vehicular check-in area. The valet was accommodating for check-in purposes and allowed my car to be parked temporarily in the area. Self parking seems not handicap friendly. If you are not from the area navigating from the self parking area to the hotel can be challenging. Part of that voyage appears to be a level of steps. Aside from the garage navigational issues the hotel is very nice and plush.

This is a first at a 4 star hotel for us. The valet is also very slow. They have 1 person working. If you get in late you have to call the hotel for assistance. Very inconvenient parking and if the front desk only has one person they will not assist customers by leaving post.

Conceiges exceeded expectations and resolved The Dime restaurant issue for non service.
They contacted Dime management on my behalf, received an apology but was informed that Dime management was difficult when told of incident.
We Had sat at table over 20 minutes to order food but all servicers pasted us by, when head servicer did come when we got up to leave, she asked us did we get serviced, my reply was very annoying & no. Spoke a little loud about non service, about how yesterday I was here it was no issues, even gave a good tip and I was only in the restaurant for maybe 30-35 minutes before going out. But today, it was really horrible! nobody came to check on us, you told us you would be right back but you never came back even though you seen us sitting there. I understand there's a convention or whatever's going on but that does not excuse you or anyone else from stopping to see about us. Where is your manager, when asked, she replyed, not here at the moment. We have not order anything and so therefore after waiting this long time, we are now leaving. Have a good day & going across street for breaksfast. Forgot her name but she was the only other african amerucan person I seen at The Dime. I truly think it was a skin thing (we was the only other african american presented with small child). The Dime is inside the hotel.
The Conceiges also assisted with toiletries items, places of interests, rebooking our stay and treated respectfully.

Downtown Allentown has improved drastically. This hotel and it's amenities are superb. The rustic look of the rooms made for a peaceful stay away from home. The restaurant served a delicious breakfast that makes this hotel 5 stars. All the employees were helpful and courteous. I look forward to going back
