This place looks so fantastic, and it feels like it has a lot of history to it as well, but with history comes dust. So if you are really sensitive to dust I would strongly recommend avoiding this place or staying outside. Staff didn t look to happy, which is a shame, because this place is not the cheapest and we wanted to get some good service along with the food that we pay for. We sat down at the table by the window with the beautiful view. As I mentioned dust before, that wasn t the only thing that was dirty. We were given dirty menus as well. It s a good thing that we already knew what we wanted. We got fish & chips and beef burger which both had average taste considering the price. I don t think that we will be back. This place is probably better suited for drinks.

Lovely place to have a drink in this unique looking pub with restaurants. It's housed in a pretty looking 18th century warehouse in the heart of St Katharine Docks with balconies that are beautifully lit up. Kind of like Christmas all year round. Food is not bad. The best part is the setting where it's a great place to sit and have a drink in a beautiful setting while enjoying a rare warm February.

Would've given another star if we were allowed to drink in one of the upstairs balconies, but those are for diners only.

Reasonable selection of drinks. Fairly good standard menu. Chips were a bit dry though. Staff member who dealt with us needs a course in customer service and courtesy though. A smile and politeness goes a long way.

Horrible service. I walk in around 5:50PM with my family. Walk past several staff and talk to one about a place to sit. We grab a table and several more staff watch us as we go through the menu. I then get up go to the bar to order and it is now 6:00 PM and I am told by the bar tender that the kitchen is closed. Not one person during the ten minutes I was in the place had the decency to inform me that the kitchen closed at 6:00. We then head upstairs to the totally empty Grill and are told that all of the tables are spoken for, but we could sit outside. Okay, at least a table. We get out there and then sit around and watch every other table get waited on except ours. We got up and left in disgust. Skip this place if you have a family.

Met my nephew at The Dickens Inn, a busy, bustling traditional British Pub, that's just a short walk from our hotel, thru the Marina. Upon arriving was greeted by a friendly guy, I asked him to keep a 'lookout' for my Handsome nephew, who was meeting us, since we're visiting from the States. Just as I said it, He arrived! With beers in hand, we toasted him, London & how happy we were to be here. Had my 2nd Peroni, a light bodied beer, that was yummy! Cheers to London town & reunions!

Giant boozer with loads of choice, good for group outings though serving times can suffer due to popularity and lack of other pubs in the area. Expect a 2 to 5 min wait. Music is good but sometimes too loud. Outside areas are nice in the dry months. Accessibility is limited due to steps to the entrance.

What a lovely find. Gorgeous outside with all the flowers so pretty. Nice big seating area inside with a large choice of drinks. Didnt eat but menu looked nice. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by.

The Dickens in is a great place to go out with friends to have an amazing selection of draft beers. I went there a few years ago with some business partners who took me there for dinner but since I don't remember anything about the food it probably means that it was not that good. Who knows maybe one day I'll be back and I'll try the food again.

Dickens Inn building is a converted 18th century converted victorian warehouse next to the riverside with a great view of the docks. The hanging baskets and tattered feel all work very well to build an interesting atmosphere. Unfortunately the pub inside is completely let down and it destroys the whole atmosphere so it does only worth sitting outside.

It probably works out better if you get 4 small pizzas instead of the beast both price wise and slices per person ratio. I wouldn't recommend the desserts/puddings as they are surprisingly small & blunt.

I wouldn't make a specific trip just to visit this place but if you are around tower bridge and you can secure a seat at the balcony it is a much better option than the rest of the pubs in the area

Lovely well appointed pub overlooking Katherine's Dock Marina (as long as you can get a seat on the upper level, outside). Quite expensive but pleasant to sit in the sun in this oasis, right near the Tower of London. Yes, I would return on a sunny day.

Looks nice from outside but food was overpriced and terrible. Cheesy chips were a cup of cheap ready frozen style chips with processed cheese on (as in cheese slices). Tasted so bad we got a refund. No other meals finished as they were very disappointing and service atrocious. We were pretty patient and pleasant but waitress was very rude. No apology, replaced the order with plain chips, then looked in disgust and audibly huffed and stormed off as we asked again for a refund.

Good food, but we arrived 15 minutes before closing, and the waiting staff made it visible that they would have preferred if we hadn't walked in. Granted, this was nothing compared to the look of sheer terror they displayed 10 minutes later when they had to tell the chef that 4 more customers arrived in!!!! We really enjoyed our food, but as a dining experience, it was very rushed. The waiter then had to very embarrassingly print a new bill because the 12% service charge had automatically been added on, and we questioned it. In fairness, our male Italian waiter made up for the experience, but I'd be hard pushed to go back :(

A truly unique pub / restaurant experience in the very heart of London. Housed in a large converted 18th century warehouse. It's located in St. Katherine's Dock close to the Tower of London. This quiet and unique neighbourhood belies it's location. It sets the scene for your experience at the Dickens Inn. The inn hosts a restaurant serving quality English pub style food. The pub itself serves a good selection of beers and ales under the wooden beams of the original structure. There are few tables with a large area given over to the after work crowd with standing room only. The place is usually quiet in the afternoons and is a great place to relax from the bustle of London. In early to mid-afternoon you will likely find a table inside, on summer days there is some outside seating. Well worth a try.

Nice pub located at the far end of St Katherine s Dock and marina. Nice little outside area overlooking the Marina. Price of drinks were reasonable for London. A short walk from Tower Hill Underground Station. Close to Tower Bridge and The Tower of London. nicely decorated fir Christmas.

I love this place.

I love this place.
You can go there for a just a beer, for a good pizza or for some delicious grill. All in one place (different floors).
The facade of the place is really beautiful and helps to embellish the docks.
The interior is spacious and there is some extra exterior area as well.
They have a good selection of beers and ciders.
It also has many TVs on the ground floor for you to watch your favourite sport match.
The place seems fairly clean as well.
Overall, a great place!
I recommend it to anyone around looking to chill or to eat.

Didn't like that we couldnt sit on the upstairs balcony unless we were eating, other than that, I loved it. Beautiful place, friendly service and in a great location. We will be going back :)

What a Pub...views!!! I was delighted with the structure of this place! Full of energy, delicious beers and fantastic staff! Great atmosphere to go with friends. I imagine that in the hot days in London! Unfortunately I visited at the end of the winter...and I loved anyway.... But I hope to go back soon!

Friendly staff let down by the food and beer I had. The Meantime beer was old or poorly kept. The fish and chips was greasy, the batter wasn't cooked through and was served with garlic mayonnaise instead of tartar sauce. I'm sure they could do better

Came here with friends and we ordered drinks plus some food from the bar food menu. Two people in our party ordered the fish and chips, it was ridiculously oily with the plate dripping from the excess. Another in our group ordered the burger which came out on a tiny plate and did not reflect the price. Worst of all was my order of margarita pizza. The pizza came up undercooked in the centre and dripping with grease so it was really soggy. I brought this to the attention of staff and they said they would make another one however the second attempt came out even worse than the first. Was offered a refund for the amount but nothing more for the inconvenience so we soon left dissatisfied and hungry. Won't return for food at all. Also the toilets are pretty disgusting and didn't feel clean.

We used to come here as a family to drink hot chocolate on the balcony. Now I bring friends and my own family when I get the chance. Grill is good but I love the pizzas in the pizzeria. Would definitely recommend the goats cheese pizza. You also have the option of daytime pub food in the main pub area. It's such a beautiful pub, so if I have any guests coming from abroad I like to bring them here for a casual dinner. View looks onto Tower Bridge and Shard from the balcony. Surrounding area is lovely to have a short walk after dinner and see Tower Bridge while you're there.

The fish and chips is not the best around the area. Not the first choice in the future. Too much oil and served on a piece of paper that after few minutes becomes completely wet.
Fish very small in a big frying.
Just a place for tourists that will never come back.
Disappointed.

Beautiful building, really nice staff.

We asked to turn on the patio heaters, but they said they are broken. Why?

The toilets are in desperate need of refurbishment. They're like school toilets!

Probably won't return.

English Pub near Tower Bridge.

English Pub near Tower Bridge.
One of the badest Fish and Chips i've ever had. Same taste than the Onion rings, greasy.
Service is not really friendly.
Only a good experience to have a drink with view.

Three floors for all different types of food. Bottom floor is your usual pub with snacks. Middle is pizza and the top if grilled food. I personally went on the third floor. The waiters were attentive and were a delight to talk to. The only gripe I had was the toilets being really hot and the hand soap smelling strange. Aside from that food was excellent atmosphere was great would definitely go there again.

One of my favourite spots for a pint of beer in London. Nestled into St Katherine's beautiful Dock and surrounded by lovely boats / yachts. If you go to the Tower of London next door then you should pop in for refreshments.

Very limited seating outdoors, and lack of proper aircon in the summer can make the indoors hellish. Also restrict to just indoors more than an hour before closing. A fair selection of cider, beer, and ales, but very limited on wine.
Lovely setting in the docks, but don't get a lot of the views.
Indoors, when there's not an event on, there's a decent amount of seating. But the TVs are cranked far too loudly in one of the halves. Can make conversation quite difficult.
Food is typical pub food, good when you're drinking, but wouldn't go just for that.
Would say it's better in the cooler months.

4 of us went here for lunch today with 2 children. We waited 1hr15mins for our food to arrive. Our pepperoni pizza had literally 1 piece of pepperoni on it. After complaining about the length of time it took for our food to arrive and also the quality, we were only offered a refund on our 1 pepperoni pizza, very unhappy. Ok for a drink, afford eating here!!

Great atmosphere, drinks and food in the pub which I've been to many a time. Sadly, I wasn't allowed to have a meeting with some wine and nibbles at the first floor restaurant despite it being daytime and the place being almost empty. I was told that we could only stay if we ordered a meal. As weren't that hungry we went to a quiet coffee place round the corner. I understand the rules but they were a little off-putting given the context and time of day.

In a word. Rubbish.

In a word. Rubbish.

The building and the surrounding area are great but this pub completely misses the target. The food is well below par for the prices charged, tables are left dirty, toilets are damaged and clearly have been for some time. The other food outlets in the same area are clearly offering a much higher quality of service and food.

A regular haunt and a London institution. You may find it hard to find a seat on a sunny weekend day, so have a backup plan. Food slightly random, as it can deteriorate a little when they are busy. Set in a wonderful part of London, so worth a special visit, but I would recommend a weekday,

For quite a cold area, this place brings a little bit of what you'd expect from a British pub. Huge and good pizza.

My positive review was for their business events. Their personal side is pretty shocking.

Extremely expensive beer. Terrible pizza when served to customers. And generally a money making machine.

However does look good from the outside

Beautiful 18th century building, with beautiful wooden frames on the inside. Situated on the historic St Katharine s Dock.
This pub could be amazing but is let down by the staff, dirty tables and toilets that are in disrepair.

We had a lovely dinner here on the third floor grill bar, I had a Caesar salad which was lovely and the waitress suggested a great bottle of wine. Staff were very friendly and the views from the balcony overlooking the boats in S Katherine's Dock were magnificent on a Summer evening.

Tourist trap honey pot. White wine by glass awful, cheapest they could source, 1 draught beer on offer on a Friday evening at over the top London prices. Chips with everything. Tired mock up of an old English inn.

Fanstastic location by the marina and british atmosphere. It has a nice nostalgic feeling to it. Not the cheapest but not really expensive, especially given the location. Food is slightly better than the typical pub. Has all the typical beers and spirits. Nice place for tourists or a quick escape from the city of London.

Lovely setting, good food and friendly service. You find a different type of restaurant on each floor. Ground floor is more pub type with TV etc we were on the top floor and it was more Italian. Appart from an old waiter who was utterly rude all very polite.

Great location, beautiful building that's the positive side. Overpriced, average and not living up to their own claims the other. Half of the beers were not available and pricing is top end for the area but the icing on the cake was their More

Traditional quaint British pub in a fabulous location. Good ambience. Surprisingly good choice of menus including vegetarian dishes. Very tasty and much improved since our last visit over a year ago. Will come again for sure.
