Poor service and pizzas tasted like frozen ones. Do not go here if you are looking to enjoy a good meal. The wait was absolutely ridiculous, and their pizzas tasted like ones you get from supermarkets. Definitely would not recommend. Nice location however very poor service and not-so-great pizzas

Wow, what a comedy of errors last night was. I should note that this review is of my MOST RECENT experience yesterday. All my other experiences have been good.

Secondly, we had been telling our friends how awesome the Pizzeria was. We went upstairs at 8.50pm to be told they had closed the kitchen because "there is only one table full here". Oh really, and they thought no-one else would turn up and they could just knock off early? I wish I could close work before time because not many people had come!

Fortunately the Grill on the second floor had decided to stay open and we had a very nice meal there. We then went downstairs to the main bar again at 10.10pm to be told it had closed even though its listed closing time is 11pm!

I love this pub and have been coming here for years but please people, stay for the allocated hours. It was a nice evening but there were a few disappointments which were nothing but unnecessary glitches. It could have been better and I wouldn't be writing this now.

Nice prices, in a beautiful location. The tavern is often busy but you can head upstairs to the pizzeria or grill for drinks too! Really nice on the balcony overlooking the Marina and tower bridge!

The location and outlook of the pub is lovely. However the food is less desirable. For a restaurant to be advertised as a "grill" you would hope their steaks would be good, this is not the case. They were very tough and overcooked. We had three on our table and none were eaten fully!!

A lovely place to be on a sunny day; a superb venue for a wedding; but completely mediocre as a pub.

Service in the bar is slow, the drink selection average, and the food overpriced. I suppose it's exactly what you might expect for a pub in such a touristy area, and run by a company whose specialty is bars and food concessions in airports and stations.

To its credit though, I attended a friend's wedding here, and the function suite worked brilliantly as a venue, and the setting was great. It's a shame it can't all be that good!

I have stopped liking the Dickens as it smells of stale beer and the drinks prices are extortionate. It has an idyllic setting and the look of the place is fantastic from the outside. It has good indoor decor. The problems I have with the place are mainly the smell, the prices and the quality of food. I had a burger twice and it was quite dry and oily. I thought that the first one was bad luck but the second one was also pretty bad. So many other places around that offers lovely food. On Saturday the men's toilets were 70% out of order. All the urinals were blocked off. I only take friends visiting from foreign countries these days. Otherwise I do not like to go there.

We stood at the bar it was busy but eventually we reached the front which was fine we're not impatient people but what really grated was the fact that we were ignored on several passes by the bar person serving in that area of the bar. I did notice that there were younger people all around us closer to the bar staffs age I'm not entirely sure if that was a factor. Eventually we caught the attention of a bar person who shouted at us to move up to the end where she was serving aware from the woman who'd ignored us. As we walked away from the bar finally drinks in hand I noticed that the woman who had ignored us had her photo up behind the bar as best sales person, obviously they employ the e everyone's a winner and take it in turns for that because she didn't demonstrate she was the best.

Very conveniently located near the hotel I stayed. Food was great and beer was cold. Only thing is the bar staff wasn't the friendliest. You had to grab a table, remember the number, walk up to the bar to buy beer, order food and give the table number. Each restaurant is different, nothing wrong in helping a new customer out by outlining how it works.

Friendly staff and covid conscious business. They have a lovely guy welcoming people with a mask who clearly lays out the rules and checks that you have registered with the track and trace qr system before allowing you in. There is plenty of outside seating and many markings inside along with one way systems.

Drinks not badly priced for London and beautiful views.

Charming pub, and wonderful atmosphere. Didn't have food there, so can't comment on that. Selection of beers average, as you would find in many touristy bars. Staff was friendly and laid back. Will definitely go back, and would recommend it, specially for big groups as there is plenty of space in and out.

The service at this place is atrocious. The food is extortionately priced for what I can only describe as a burger you'd get from a greesy kebab van outside Revolution De Cuba in Milton Keynes at 4am in the morning. Will not be frequenting this venue again.

Excellent pizza's and beer.
Went here with a group of 10 blokes and got through 9 pizza's and plenty of beer and it was all great quality and service.
The restaurant is in a great location with good views and an excellent atmosphere.
Recommend for anyone

There were four of us, including our Italian guest who wanted to have the traditional fish&chips. There was hardly any fish on the plate. It looked like remains of some fish wrapped in a lot of batter. Then 2 hours later, I wasn t feeling More

Nice food and good atmosphere. Service good when quiet. Careful of sneaky 12%service charge on the bill (there were 3 of us) PLUS the request for a tip on the card payment machine- was a bit cheeky and quite awkward to challenge, especially as the service didn t really warrant either....

It is a perfect place for eating or for a drink after visiting the Tower or Tower bridge. Located only 200 meter from the bridge in very nice environment in the port. You see the boats from the terrace. Many places outside and inside. Good pub food and pub drinks.

Nice place for a drink but the food is over priced and poor quality.
Ordered cheesy chips as a sharing snack, the portion was tiny and they had melted what tasted like the cheapest cheese slice over them, it tasted awful.
At over 4 pounds for a cup with some chips in it I thought they'd at least use some half decent cheese.

Decent for a visit and a drink but the pub food here is not great, expensive too. The pizzas are much better and I'd recommend that as an option. It's nice in summer and spring with the outside covered in flowers

This place has it all. Location, food variety, pleasant ambient. It features three different restaurants, a tavern, an Italian and a grill house, so you will find definitely something to suit your craving. The interior is very nice, it has an old traditional look and is more imposing than the average pub. Weather permitting, the balconies overlooking the docks are excellent, you can even catch glimpses of tower bridge from here. Food-wise, I tried the Sunday roast on the grill house. Unfortunately they where out of beef so I have the chicken, which was not a fillet as usual but the entire leg and breast. But these things aside, it was very well cooked and was tasty. The downside was the price which is above the average pub. I would come again though, because this is a lovely place.

Awful!! We went to the upper part of this restaurant and sat down to be served by a waiter who had no idea what he was doing, asking me how I wanted my chicken to be cooked!!! Bad sign already.
We asked to move as we were getting cold sat outside. Fine. As I walked in I could see my meal sat under the hot light, I had ordered a chicken Caesar salad...

Still giving us no money off, we spoke to the manager who took 20% off. We paid but were not happy. Awful customer service and you need a new chef.

Actually excellent pub, wonderful location, and quite good beer. Staff clearly can't be bothered. Management likewise, as making a fortune whether good or bad. Getting served is simply a lottery, and tables left without being cleared. Shame, could be exceptional. As an aside toilets are beyond disgraceful.

When coming here you are met with a beautiful exterior. The interior is cosy and beer selection is plenty but unfortunately lacking in the cider department.

Was here with a rather large group were we booked the whole top floor. Started with not being able to order from the actual beer selection and we were directed by the waiters to go down 2 floors ourselves if the two options didn't suit us.

For main course we ordered burgers for all because of the claimed "Best burgers in London". It was the absolutely worst burger I have eaten at a restaurant for years. The burger tasted as if it was boiled and there was not even a hint to seasoning, agreed by everyone I spoke with at the dinner. Fries were OK but again, no seasoning at all.

During dessert I first got served a different dessert than the rest of the group for allergy reason, but the dessert I got served was THE thing I'm allergic to the most and the regular dessert actually was safe for me.
They forgot my friend beside me so when everyone except him had gotten their dessert at the table they started with the other ones. Finally we had to go up to the servers and tell them that they had not served my friend. All we got was an "Okey" and when they finally served him they did not even excuse themselves for forgetting him, only a bitter look in their face and tone as if it was more of a nuisance that they had to take the effort to come over and serve him than anything else.

The post-dinner tea/coffee was a complete mess of servers running around trying to serve people who had declined the offer of tea/coffee and then serve the wrong thing to those who wanted some. In the end they went around with 1-4 cups of different beverages and just asking everyone if and what they ordered. Again, no excuses for trying to serve the wrong thing to people.

Dirty toilets with broken interior was a perfect end to THE worst dinner experience I've had on the whole British Isles.

In conclusion: Avoid if you are looking for something to eat because I cannot imagine how bad the other dishes are. I would recommend going to Burger King before The Dickens Inn if you want a burger, or just make one yourself at home. It will not be worse.

Eventho it was full we got quickly seated, on top the food is amazing and the service was great too, especially Bogdan was very friendly!

I really recommend to check out The Dickens Inn to experience the 3 floors filled with awesome food!

Fantastic period looking establishment with a rich Maritime/Docks heritage displayed within.
Friendly and helpful staff and a good choice of food depending on which floor you are on.
I had a Cheese and Bacon burger, it was very tasty and well cooked.

Not recommended for weddings- didn't play most of our ceremony music and lost some of our stuff. Helpful staff, but didn't seem to know much about weddings specifically. Amazing pizza, and lovely food though, and a lovely space for a small wedding.

Nice old looking pub from the outside in a very nice location on the docks. Having a drink outside on the terrace is very nice but staying inside feels claustrophobic and hot and humid. Watching football there isn't the best, small TVs in corners, can't see properly and not much sound.

Great large space, food shocking, manager can't do much apart from the usual....refund. Whole point of coming to a decent looking pub in central is to experience something unique, especially as there a wharf right outside, Don't get me wrong the wording on the menu is fantastic but what is served well, less to be desired. Either the produce is super expensive or the chef just does not believe in his product. Don't even ask about the disgustibg toilets!
