Nice place to have drinks / Service is very quick / food is good
Very nice place and nice stuff as well!!the view is amazing..!!!
Had chicken salad .very dry chicken. Wouldn't eat here again. Beer nearly 6 quid a pint .2 nicer for blackcurrant and tap water . Nice location though
Always great and the setting in the marina is lovely!
Table of four waited 45 minutes for half our order to arrive. When the fish and chips did arrive they were warm as if fried long before. Lots of batter but not much fish. We waited another 30 minutes for one hamburger which arrived after More
Wonderful pub right on the riverside over looking St Katherine Docks close to Tower Bridge. A big place with multiple bars. Great experience for locals or tourists alike. Recommended for a visit when you are down on the river front. Great staff and great atmosphere.
Excellent location at St Katherine's Dock. Quaint and cosy. Well worth a visit.
We were party of 12 people and they got two of ordered wrong, and argue with our colleagues who don't eat beef and ordered chicken dishes. It took them more than 40 minutes to replace the meal mistake they have made. It was simply the most awful service, I have ever encountered.
It had a great vibe. I liked that it was off the water
Wonderful old, style English pub with plenty of space perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring London, located on the famous Katarina docks. Food choice is typical chain pub food but well done and presented. Great choice of drinks....whilst charing experience with others.
Great location.
Pretty good food and beer selection
Good alternative options offered with pizza and steak dedicated floors
Although it s a lovely place from the outside, it took far too long to get food on a not-busy day. My appetizers were great but my fish and chips was average and the bill ended up being ridiculous for the quality of the food. Mediocre service, mediocre food, I d pass through for a pint but certainly nothing more
Great place to eat, loads of choice, amazing building lots of history
Beautiful view of the docks, the flowers hanging on the railings are a nice touch.
St at were super friendly & helpful :)
Beautiful location but when they tell you 30 minutes till closing and 10 minutes later there telling you to drink up
Good place to trade your money for a pint of beer. Selection is not great but if are fancy for a quick turn with friends should do the job more than well.
Ah, what an amazing experience and honour it was to just be there. I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity. The best bit was when I looked out of the window and saw that it was raining, but because I was inside I didn't get the least bit wet. Brilliant
Impressively large gastropub with multiple floors and rooms for parties. Lovely setting.
Came to top floor pizzeria for works do. Food excellent and staff attentive and skilled. Beautiful building in St Catherines dock. Christmas lights cold crisp evening, wonderful.
Unbelievably bad food. Came out 40minutes after ordering cold and uneatable. We took it back for a refund. Not worth the time...
Love this place. Had a good evening meal with friends from the ECA. Great food and amazing service from a very dedicated Italian waiter.
The Dickens Inn is a great place to come for a drink on a sunny afternoon after work because all of its three floors overlook St. Katherine s Doc. The ground floor is a pub, which very much decorated like your typical British pub, serving food and drinks. The pizzeria is located on the first floor, which I have never tried. The grill restaurant is on the second floor, and it mainly serves English food. I have been to the restaurant a couple of times, and the food is nothing special. The roast was okay and the burger too. The vegetable risotto was more like creamy rice devoid of vegetables. I would not come here for the food, but more for the atmosphere it provides. The restaurant is spacious with wooden furniture throughout, as well as an original woddern flooring and high ceilings with exposed wooden beams. It has an outdoor area that gets pretty crowded in the summer time, unfortunately you can't reserve a table there This is a great place to take people from out of town to or meet friends after work. It is a bit pricey but not too bad.
Great place for dinner while visiting Tower Bridge area.
Friendly staff and great pizza, wonderful atmosphere.
Great pub great location. Lovely views. Plenty of choice for food with their new additional menus. Great for drinks or food with conference room.
Nice place in a nice setting. Tends to be full of tourists. I can t put my finger on why but it s just not my type of pub. Lacking a bit atmosphere I think. That said I think there s will love this place.
Big, lively, and tasty. Can't go wrong, and definitely a place to visit if you're in the area. Drinks are central London prices and you won't get much cheaper even with the guest ales.
Very nice pub in a picturesque location. Visited on a very busy bank holiday weekend and even though it was very busy, the service and drinks were great .
Great service, great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is really good too. It's a thumbs up from me.
The Dickens Inn is in a beautiful setting and location, but the food is just really poor pub food. We have been twice now, and disappointed both. It's better to grab a beer here or meet a large group, but the food is not a selling point.
Pretty appalled to be honest.
The heaters were not working and the toilets were filthy and dingey. There is no baby changing facility. (I do not count the one in only the Ladies, which does not fully fold down because of the hand dryer)
The staff were excellent.
Horrible guy at the entrance was so rude, never been treated in my entire life like this by any one had my bike with me he told me off to even bring close to the property so not a cycle friendly environment, asked him for sign board but he couldn't direct me at one.
How people like him are even allowed to work in such a friendly looking place shocks me defenitely a no go and everyone should no
Couldn't get any more classic English pub than this. Just beautiful. You must visit the Pizzeria upstairs!!
Stop talking about this place. You're going to tell everyone how amazing it is, the fresh pints, the beautiful building and surrounding berth. My most recent visit included a large, lunch time market filled with at least 30 or more amazing food vendors. This is far and away one of my favorite spaces in all of London.
The venue is great, based at the end of St Katherine's Dock, pub itself looks authentic and had a good atmosphere. But why at 9.45 in the evening on a lovely and warm summers day does the staff have to force all drinkers to vacate the More
One of my favourite pubs in London great atmosphere wonderful views of st Catherine's dock
The Dickens Inn is a pub at the edge of the historic St Katharine s Dock. The building is an 18th century one, with beautiful wooden frames on the inside.
Once inside the pub itself, it s easy to forget that you re a stone s throw away from the City of London. It tricks you into feeling like you re in a traditional English countryside tavern. With ample space inside for table and area bookings, this place is a firm favourite with my office for a drinks get together and do a great quiz on a Thursday night.
Although it can get exceptionally busy with longish wait times at the bar, it s easy to see why the crowds flock there.
Great selection of beers, wines , friendly and professional staff,
Dickens hosted a supper for about 100 people for us. They did well considering some of our people couldn't remember what they ordered. The food was ok... but it's hard to have amazing food for that many people at one time. Maybe better to have fewer choices when you're pre-ordering for that many people.
Great burger. Cheerful staff ..nice place by the docks
Horrible overpriced pizza (on 1st floor) in a restaurant with no atmosphere. Suggest pizza union in the area which has a proper wood fire oven rather than the electric one they use here.
Beautiful surroundings, beautiful food, lovely staff, nice scenery around love it
A vey nice and typical place, at a great location in the very heart of london.
We took the tube to tower hill and then walk, the views are great.
Great place, great food, marvellous location. Simply not to be missed
Was super bad food. We order grill chicken. It tast like old Sahara chicken that they take out the freezer warm it up. Tast old and dry.
The only thing that was good was the water and the fish.
A 1/2 old grill chicken
One dirty soft fish cake
Pumpkin soup no tast
Fish and chips ( that was ok)
Bottle of water.
Isn t wort that price.
Super bad restaurant. Never again
Really cool old building. Nice garden bar out the front.
Took a group of 7 here one evening for a meal in the grill. I hadn't booked but the staff were extremely helpful and arranged things in no time at all. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced, and the whole place was comfortable and cozy. Will be going back.
Really enjoyed our family meal here, great burgers, great mixed grill, salmon was good good service, little slow , but overall with the added ambiance of the location, very good.
Have been going to Dickins Inn for years. Enjoyed. But today went in asked for Lager And Lime. Was told they dont stock lime cordial. Then asked for dry martini and lemonade.told they dont have Martini. Ordered three fish finger sandwiches. Had a real job finding any fish fingers. It is not worth a visit anymore after many years of enjoying visits
At the top floor at The Dickens Inn and the food served here is glorious.
As a venue, it has a charming atmosphere and the various pictures and items that are strewn across the walls deserve closer examination.
The staff are efficient and friendly - was never left with an empty glass for long.
But the main highlight is the quality of the food - the starters and mains are consistently extremely well prepared and taste wonderful.
It s absolutely worth eating here if you have the opportunity to do so.
There are 3 restaurants, the one at the top seemed to have a rather limited menu. But the food was nice.
Cosy, characteristic pub in St Katherines dock area, in the least crowded part of the city. Ideal for a quiet visit in the evenings. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around the area.
Average pub with comfortable seating. Nice location.
We had to wait 40 minutes to get the food. The burger was decent but the fisherman dish was disgusting, worst fish and chips I have ever had in London.
However, the worst part of our experience was to see several times a rat running accross the dinning room, hiding behind the heaters. We informed our waitress, who did not seem surprised and did not care at all. When leaving the restaurant we spoke to another member of staff and told us that it happens all the time but don't worry, they always stay in the dinning rooms and nerver get into the kitchen! Funny, ridiculous but, above all, disgusting.

Great place fab atmosphere friendly staff and delicious food
Visited several times over the years and never had a bad experience. Average prices for London. Great beer and drink selection and plenty of seating both inside and out. In a beautiful location.
The building and the location are lovely, there is a very nice atmosphere.
We dined at the pizzeria, and were highly disappointed with the pizza. What we were served didn't resemble any of the pictures posted here or on their website. It looked like the base was a frozen one and probably even pre-cooked. It tasted just fine but it wasn't a real pizza. On top of that it was on the pricey side.
The place is very nice and the location is very good. I give 2 stars because the food is massively over priced for what it is. There are plenty of pubs around London with better and cheaper food, or more expensive and also nicer food. Drinks wise, massively over charged spirits and they charge the soft drink separately; remember to ask for tap soft drink.
The place is just friendly, the staff are really nice, good selection of wine and beers. We did not try the food but you can tell is quality. The place seems to be very clean and the staff very attentive. Always willing to help.
Very old traditional pub dating back to the 16th century in lovely St Catherins dock surroundings very impressive
Picturesque and great atmosphere in summer especially. I love the location!
Beautiful pub inside and out close by to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Extremely spacious with different food offerings on every level, so something for everyone. A nice pit-stop after work or on an evening stroll. Worth getting there early on a nice day or night to get a seat outside. Service at the bar a was a bit slow.
I liked this pub. Really. Nice atmosphere. Good prices and tasty beer
Great waterhouse for thirsty travelers. Unique place.
Great variety and smashing atmosphere, location is perfect
No warm welcome.Difficult to find clean table .Was told to wait by door to be seated .No staff there.
Told area for eating only which was my intention. Sat 10 mins ,had menu and 2 small wines 18 pounds .No one came for order ?not sure if order at bar.Moderately busy 4pm.Walked out after drink.
Great atmosphere, service, tasty food and beautiful decor, have had meals here a few times and always has been great.
Even though I am loath to give a 1 Star review for The Dickins Inn (because on previous visits it has always been a 4 to 5 Star pleasant experience) I must be candid in my appraisal of our latest visit. First there was a noticeable, unpleasant odour that permeated the main bar area that a fellow customer accurately described as smelling like a wet dog. I later found the source of this aroma to be emanating from the gentlemen s toilet floor which was about a half inch deep in urine. Most disgraceful though was the blatant drug transaction that took place near the main entrance even though there was a visible security presence. This is totally unacceptable and calls into question the licensee s probity.
Stunning pub, great location. Even better they serve all beer by 2pt stein. Would highly recommend for groups
Nice from the outside! Inside is ok. Standard beers and fixed on offer, but very pricey.
The old English brewery ambience is well maintained.
Wonderful location. Worth going just for that, especially on a sunny day. Right on the water at st. Katherine s dock. Staff efficient and nice, beer selection good, food fine.
Really delicious. Fish and chips is amazing.
The staff is very very kind.
To try absolutely.
Packed when visited so had to stand. I understand it is owned by SSP so I would not visit again.
Ate at the grill. The roast beef was awful - inedible and I left the whole meal. We were told someone else had complained about the food on the same day. The meat was hard and dry and resembled a shoe sole. They charge 18 quid for it so priced as a gastro pub. They agreed not to charge for it. Owned by a big catering company SSP who mostly specialise in airport and railway catering. Real shame as the building and location are fantastic!
Nice old Inn at St Catherine's docks. Didn't have any food, but the beer and cocktails were good and the service was too. Excellent outdoor seating area.
Disappointing menu lacking in trad English fare. Good service but beer choices limited on upper floors
Gorgeous settings for a pub but place is in desperate need of in-house-ninja-plumber because toilets are consistently out of order. My friend visiting London for a weekend described them simply "it was like a crime scene, with tape and bodily fluids and fight damage ". And this applies to both ladies and men. Place also needs some deep cleaning.
Had lunch with the family, enjoyed the fish and chips.
