I went and felt as though I'd traveled far, far away to a green sanctuary. There are trees from all over the world--labeled so that you know what you're looking at. And the place itself is huge! I'm sure one could visit 100 times and still find something new. I especially loved the bonsai exhibit, and the Japanese garden (which hosts a beautiful mediation house!). But no matter where I wandered I came upon beautiful gardens (the sensory garden with Lamb Ears!), a long, vine-ceilinged staircase, or some bestial tree. The Dawes Arboretum one of the happiest places on earth.

Have been to Sawed Arboretum twice, both times in the summer. The plants are pretty, andd there is a large variety of trees. Visitors can take a self guided driving or walking tour. There are picnic tables and plenty of shaded areas to enjoy.

Absolutley gorgeous! A lot to see and experience. You can tour the Dawes House for $2 for adults and $1 for kids. They only hold tours on Saturdays and Sunday at 1pm and 3pm. The house tours run until October! If you have a membership, you can fish at the Dawes lake but its catch and release only, and the membership is required.

It's a wonderful place, with very well kept gardens. The birds are everywhere too. The only thing that kept it from 5 stars is the amount of ticks. It's not too bad, although make sure to do a thorough check when you get home. I didn't see everything though, so I may go up to five when I come back.

This is the perfect place for those craving quality "slow time.". The beauty is year round, especially in the Japanese garden. There are easy options if you are Walking challenged, with wheelchair accessible paths, and woodland trails that sparkle with native wildflowers in spring. The Story Trail is spot on for kids and it is overall a special place to show children wonders they might see in their own neighborhood too. The bird/butterfly garden is tucked away, but delightful. These too are inspirations for what you can do in your own yard or pots.

They're doing a great job maintaining this place. The viewing tower is even in nice enough shape that I'm not afraid of splinters in my one-year-old's bare feet. The grass is cut into defined paths, the trees and other place life look healthy and eclectic.

I love this place I have a different view with every trip. The leaves are different the trees are different. Depending on the time I go the sun is in a different viewing for my pictures. I just love taking my daughter for pictures.

I have grown up around this place. Enjoy driving through every once in a while. Also enjoy walking or hiking there at times. However starting this spring it will be 10 dollars to step on the property. Wow!! Think I will start using the Buckeye Lake trail for walking and the Taft Reserve for hiking. They don t charge per visit. ( already paid for with property taxes). The great Civil War heroes Rufus and Ephraim Dawes are probably rolling over in there graves over this.
