Terrible service. With 2 Older Vetetans.
Manager insisted on jamming us into a table and there eas 8 empty tables with rm.told us we'd have to go back to front +wait if we wanted those tables. Rude man.vi pulled our table out to not be on top of patrons behind me. Food mediocre .

Always a great time here. When I want seafood this is the first spot on my list. The great beer selection is simply a bonus.

Wish i could give it half a star service was below subpar food was cold and inedible was chased off by management never ever ever will return you are better off saving your money oh and on top of that they said there sea food is bought out of the back of a white van which if you know culinary basics isnt most definitely not a reputable supplier

We travel 21 miles to the Crabs Claw Inn so that in itself tells you it's good. We drop in frequently. The food and service is good and the local entertainment that play there are also good. We recommend this place.

Long time favorite. Great food and atmosphere. Some live music. Friendly Staff. Extra special off season with out the crowds.

Let's start with Rachel, our server....Loved her. Knew the menu, made appropriate suggestions, and all with a beautiful smile.
Now dinner...I had scallops...The freshest I've ever had in the area. Hubby had the dungeness..He said the same.

Classic jersey shore seafood spot. Live music in season. Buffalo calamari is a must try. 99 beer club is fun if you re a beer guy.

The Crabs Claw Inn is a long-standing landmark in Lavalette. It s a large, casual bar and restaurant with simple bar fare and beach-town staples, including burgers, salads, lunch specials, and seafood dinners. Plating is simple and flavors are straightforward. My southwestern chicken salad was not memorable.

They re well staffed during the summer months, with plenty of servers, bartenders, and food runners. There s an extensive beer list, wine options, and a tropical drink menu.

Great food, had lobster tails and scallop special. Both were perfectly cooked. Kelly our server was lovely. Great for everyone.

Love the lunch special prices can't be beat 4 Oceanside restaurant and the food is delicious it's a family style restaurant fish and chips is excellent love their lobster bisque and ahi tuna

Have had better. Crab cake was dry and bland. The cole slaw was warm and inedible. I had the panko ahi tuna sandwich special which was good. Service great as usual.

Our server Elisa was superb! Live band great atmosphere!

Always a great dinner. Starting with an excellent hostess, Judy , and a friendly wait staff. The food and drinks are always on point.

Great food...had an exceptional burger. Solo guitar player was excellent too...love Eagles tunes he was playing!

Crabs claw went way downhill. Went last night for a birthday dinner. Food was awfully, grizzly steak, horrible scampi, overcooked fish and mushy vegetables. Service was terrible. Our waitress was inattentive and careless. We were so embarrassed to have brought guests there. Never again.

Ok draft beers. They do give 2 prices:one for 12 oz., the other for 16 oz. I appreciate that. Kind of pricey for craft beers, but again, they offer pints. Lots of fish and shellfish on the menu. Market pricey for food. Nice looking bar, good staff.

Great food! Three buffalo trio was delicious and the coconut shrimp tacos were even better! Very tasty cocktails as well.

The food is average at best. A couple of really good dishes (Buffalo Calamari and Tuna Nachos). However, it is one of a couple true restaurants in Lavallette. They eliminated outdoor seating which is a crime.

Had dinner with the family. You must try the Lobster busiqe. Everything was hot and fresh. The waiter was very kind to the kids to make sure they enjoyed their food. We will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

Great as always but the traffic on 35 was doing 50 mph, they have to slow down ! This IS the off season , but I'm not going until Lafayette Police take some action to protect the visitors.. crazy today..

Nice place in the middle of Lavallette. Very busy, expect to wait at least 30 minutes even on weekdays.

The food was delicious and it was easy in and out. We are from Texas so Jersey Shore was a new experience. The New England Seafood Chowder was a special treat.

We had a horrible experience at this restaurant last night. After we waited a good 45 minutes for our table we were finally sat in the back corner of the restaurant where we had a beautiful view of the parking lot. After a brief wait, our server came over and within the first few sentences dropped an F bomb at our table. Seriously, at a place where the food is not worth the value (we ll get to that) you probably want to be polite to your guests. After our sever dropped the tip making strategy of I have a kid on us, she finally took our drink order and we made her take our appetizer order. Out of the 3 of us at the table, I had an iced tea, my wife had a seltzer and a beer and my sister in law had a water and a beer, and the server couldn t even remember who had what. A while later our appetizers came. We got oysters and crab dip. The oysters were good. The crab dip was ok. I think for $15 you can give us something better to dip in the crab dip than bagged tortilla chips. As the appetizers came we tried to order our entrees, to which our server walked away without taking our order. We ate the apps and after we were done for a while she finally came back to take our order. Maybe the kitchen was getting slammed at the moment and you didn t want to put our order in immediately, but if we tell you we re ready to order, take the order. We ordered really easy things too, or so we thought. Soup and fried seafood. Things that should be quick. We said the soups could come out first, which they did not as we re sitting there for 45 minutes. After about 25 minutes the server came over, poured still water into my wife s seltzer, took my sister in laws glass of water and never returned it and said our food would be out very very soon. All the tables around us that sat after us got their food much quicker than we did. We waited another 20 minutes for our super simple order to come out. We were clearly getting annoyed at this point and by the time our entrees finally got to us we were over this place and just wanted to leave. We hadn t voiced any negative thoughts at this point but the manager came over to chat with us knowing that we had a really bad experience. We hadn t eaten the some of the items on the table because our appetites were gone and we just wanted to leave. The manager s solution was to comp a round of drinks and a side of French fries instead of the food that we were clearly uninterested in. Basically the stuff that was the cheapest cost to them. We said fine as we had plans that we were already late for, not thinking we were going out for a two and a half hour dinner. Honestly, we weren t happy with the resolution but just had to get out of there. The manager then told us that the kitchen staff was very slow tonight, but if we told them we have plans they would have gone faster. This excuse given by the restaurant was totally ridiculous. Something I didn t share until now is that I m a chef, and blaming your kitchen on your servers bad job is really really unprofessional. Not to mention that the sidewalk is packed with people waiting for tables. I would think you would want to turn your tables as quickly as possible so people would have less wait times and sell more food. I didn t analyze the kitchen, so I don t know where the inefficiencies and breakdowns were, but on the service staff side, the mistakes are plentiful. Also, a $15 order of coconut shrimp should have more than 4 pieces per order. The value of the dishes just wasn t worth it. I m not really familiar with this area so I can t make a better food suggestion, just don t go here. If you want to blow a bunch of money on crappy food, this is the place for you. Otherwise, find something else.

I went here once for lunch and it was very good. The seafood selections are all good. And I love the outdoor seating.

Food is fantastic no matter what is ordered.
This restaurant has been a family staple.

Great food some tables are a little small. Can't go wrong with soft shell crab or crab cake sandwiches

I don't manage to get here too often, but when I do I always have a good time and a good meal. They usually have entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Start you off light acoustic and then gets louder later in the evening

This was a nice place. Food was fresh a little expensive but I guess that s to be expected at a vacation spot. It seems to get busier and busier as the night goes on so I d suggest getting in early!

Fun place with great food made by a great chef or tenders are the best very attentive creative and give you a good solid drink Dan's on Friday and Saturday or terrific and the locals go there as well as visitors. Definitely worth a try you won't be disappointed.

The food was great but pricey for lunch, service was pleasant but slow.

Went here on the spur of the moment after visiting the boardwalk in Seaside around 1pm on Saturday. Place was very busy. Got seated immediately in a comfortable booth. Very large selection of food so it was hard to make a decision. Planned on a cup of manhattan clam chowder and a blt, however when the server came over somehow king crab legs came out of my mouth! My husband had clams on the half shell that were delicious and very fresh, and the tuna with salsa. He has spent most of his life at the shore and said that tuna was right up there with the best he's ever had. My crab legs were cooked to perfection, sweet, and delicious. It was difficult to crack so I asked the server if the kitchen folks can pre-crack them for me and she was most accomodating. It came with a salad and a side dish, as did my husband's. The only thing that surprised me were the dinner rolls because they are usually homemade and these were like those hawaian rolls one gets at stop and shop. But I didn't care as I was enjoying my food too much for bread anyway. Overall it was fabulous and I look forward to going back with friends.

Delicious Food, from apps to dessert. Very busy but service was perfect. We waited a bit at the upstairs bar where we had coconut shrimp and stuffed. Everything was delicious. Main course was the Cedar plank Salmon, superbly cooked and my husband had the seafood combo over linguini . Perfect potions, Enjoyed every moment.

Extremely disappointed in the service that never even occurred. We were told a wait time of 30 mins when we called, ten minutes later we arrived to put our names in and the wait time increased to an hour. No problem, we waited the hour because we were told a two top is turning around much faster. 20 minutes later still waiting for only 2 people. I would have liked to give a good review but I guess it was more important to let people camp out drinking than turning tables to allow more patrons and staff to make more money.

Man I love this place & I live here year round. I still come here during the summer when all the Bennys show up
