Excellent venue. Wonderful acoustics, excellent design that is completely of its time.

My favourite place to go in Toronto. Always enjoy visiting this venue for a concert or event.
Saw a munk Debate here. What an amazing place! Walked by it couple of times never went in. It's even more beautiful on the inside. Would love to see the Opera or a concert here again.
I love this hall, however yesterday I went to the Vivaldi Four season s concert, and I was very disappointing. The concert started at 7:30. The first hour was the conductor teaching the audience the different parts of the piece. It was good for 20 min but one hour was a little too much. When I bought the tickets never told about this. The concert after the intermission (15min) was 25 minutes. And then Q&A for 15 min. Very disappointed.
Great atmosphere and location, attended a few events with both family and friends and had a great time. Plenty of parking with great staff.
Public concerts are lively and entertaining. Excellent place for gathering.
For conference, events and public program....great place
We visited Loreena Mckennitt and were blown away by the acoustics. It was simply stunning and for this kind if music a perfect setting. I was a little surprised how liniment the staff was on entering the hall after the concert going on. I am used to strictly closed doors and only in the breaks between songs doors are opened.
Solid concert hall. Impressive design. Good, comfortable seating. Get a box if you can.
Clear view of the stage and the sound are spectacularly resonance loud throughout the whole stadium
Beautiful sound at this location. It is home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. They have posters announcing upcoming concerts. You can book tickets online or at the door.
I was recently here for a symphony concert and I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the acoustics. They always have great talent at the Roy Thomson Hall, and always worth the trip.
The only negative about this venue is the staff, who can sometimes be very brash and come across as rude when interacting with guests.
Roy Thomson Hall is a masterpiece of Architecture: a large # of people can be seated in a short time because each segment of the auditorium has its own door; the hall is very acoustic. I attended a Toronto Symphony Orchestra concert on April 5/18: powerful, a tour de force, my inner self temporarily resided in other 4 dimensions.
First time coming here and impressed by the architecture and show. Everything was amazing.
Was an impulse walk in and we got tickets for the TSO concert for $25 ! Great seats . The concert was mind blowing . The acoustics were amazing. Great place for a night out in the city.
I was delightful when I received an invitation for a free concert at the Roy Thompson Hall with the Maestro being Gustavo Gimeno. I was so happy Tchaikovsky would be part of the show, as he is my favorite. The show was an hour long and the musicians played fabulously. Before the show they gave a shout out to all native tribes and acknowledging that this is their land. I was touched because right now the USA want to run pipeline through their homes and land. While listening to the music I wanted to leap out of my seat how joyful it made me...the concert was especially needed to take away winter blues and it is just what I needed.
Nice. But seats here can definitely be better. Not very comfortable
Same old RTH. Great seats, wonderful concert with TSO.
Great architecture, great aesthetics and always lovely to hear the Toronto symphony orchestra there.
It was an incredibly moving experience. Definitely going back soon.
A great location with decent sightlines throughout the seating. The sound is intense and seating is very comfortable. My one problem was the small size of the washroom which was busy for entire intermission.
Beautiful room with good acoustics and good attention.
Great place to a concert, play etc, looking forward to going there again.
One of the best venues to appreciate music in particular classical music. You may not appreciate so much of its architecture from far but when you come closer and enter to its centre part, you will be amazed by its surrounding ponds and structures so carefully designed and well arranged.
Great venue for any sort of entertainment involving sound--orchestra, bands, singers, etc. Once, years ago, fortunate enough to see--or more to the point--hear Tony Bennett here. He had all amplification turned off and sang Fly Me to the Moon a cappella, and unplugged, demonstrating the Hall's fantastic accoustics. Wow.
Great concert hall, and easy to access by public transit or car.
Very nice, modern concert venue for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and other live events. Lineups for the washroom and for beverages can be a bit long at times so get there a bit early.
I like the building and the architecture. Very unusual and unique. The acoustics are better than pre-reno but I really wish it was smaller, as far as orchestra concerts go.
The best thing about Roy Thomson Hall is that there are no obstructed sight lines. Every seat has a clear view of the stage.
Great venue for all sorts of events, specially classical music
Great soundstage. Every time I see the tso, or St Michael's Choir School, they both always sound amazing.
Beautiful Venue with such a talented Toronto Symphony Orchestra. I recently went to listen to my favourite score from the LoTR movies live. It was magnificent.
Amazing symphony orchestra! Decent seats, dated inside but I like it!
An excellent venue for acoustics alone.
Went with friends to see "Jaws in Concert".
A great way to introduce the symphony to those who might not go.
I think this was the first time I can remember watching the movie in it's entirety.
Majestic place! Recommended for all generations including teenagers! Classical music in the heart of Toronto
The staff are extremely helpful and you don't have to go far to get help.
I attend the Angela Hewitt concert and got to meet her after. What a pleasure it was to meet such a humble person. Her grace showed when she talked to you.
Excellent venue for concerts. Site lines have improved and accoustics too.
Gorgeous venue with quite decent sound quality too.
Fantastic as always - attended NatGeo series. Amazing!
In a word, terrible. Truly one of the most awful concert halls I have ever been in. I really wish that the Toronto Symphony played elsewhere downtown or were able to build their own venue as the Canadian Opera Company and National Ballet did with the excellent Four Seasons Hall.
It all begins at the door. Do not get to the hall early. Even the doors to Simcoe Street (the main entrance) are frequently locked until 7 p.m. It is all worse if you happen to go to the occasional pre-concert chamber work. The reception is somewhat less friendly than US Immigration at Pearson Airport. You are made to wait in a stuffy hallway until the very last minute. Then, despite the fact that the pre-concert is free and you have shown your ticket for the main concert, you are given a new ticket - and this amid frequent expressions on the part of the partial usher team that "there are not enough tickets for everyone."
I have encountered friendly ushers at RTH, but they have been the exception rather than the rule. Mostly, they act as guards, preventing concert goers from entering the hall prior to it being open (generally 1/2 an hour before the concert). This is a bit of an inconvenience since there is very little seating in any of the lobbies and, hence, you are once again standing in a crowd. And, in all that time, the ushers rarely offer you a program.
Thank goodness the Toronto Symphony is such a fine orchestra! They have to overcome so many deficits playing in Roy Thomson Hall, it is a credit to their talent, endurance, hard work and love of art that they can have successful concerts in this venue.
Do I recommend go? Yes, to hear the Toronto Symphony, it is worth it. Support this great orchestra and let's all hope they find a new home in our city soon.
Acoustics can be too quiet for some performances, but everything else is top notch. There is no bad seat in the house, no obstructions, no wooden seats. The surrounding glass provides excellent views during intermission, and small consessions are sprinkled throughout. Better wine choices than 4 seasons center, quicker service, better pre-order organisation. Everything in building exudes quiet elegance.
This place is amazingly designed. Impressive stage. I have attended different kinds of events, from Expos to Concerts and it works for both. Easily accesible by TTC, part of the PATH too.
Excellent programming, audio, video, and seating layout. Well-staffed with friendly and helpful ushers.
Smaller hall for concerts. Beautiful exterior architecture
Great place to see the symphony. Good prices and world class acoustics.
Such a beautiful venue. Always an incredible performance.
What a beautiful venue! We saw an amazing orchestrated show. Sounded fantastic and really enjoyed the experience. Staff were very helpful. Bathroom was a little inconvenient to get to.
Went to see TSO performing John Williams' music last night-what a show! First time for me at a symphony and I will definitely by back-great experience!!
Not so much a review, more showing off Darryl Sittler's Walk of Fame plaque. Number 27. Best captain of the modern era. The King of Hockey, the best team mate EVER. BEST CAPTAIN EVER!!
The acoustic of this Hall is fantastic. Yesterday evening we enjoyed us with a great performance of the Carmina Burana of the TPO.
Wonderful
I had a Firefly burger and Mrs had a Sidewinder And we shared a fries. Delicious food, Did not like the seating area. This place felt more geared towards take out which is what we did Would be a 5 if was more of a dine in.
Excellent venue for concert and social events with live music.
Came here for the first two a few weeks ago to see the Chieftains. Interesting architecture on the outside. Not super grand on the inside but good sight lines and acoustics.
Great acoustics and plenty of seating for various budgets. Alcoholic drinks are available purchase and depending on the show, are allowed at your seat.
