Seriously worst customer service I have had from a local business after he rudely gave a super negative demeanor and told me no one needs what I was asking for I hung up then he texted me called me a douchbag I expected more from a small business
Great, I enjoyed working with Steve. Very knowledgeable in all computing subject. The new computer is great!
Howdy ! I have visited Steve a couple of times while working for Lyft in Santa Fe ,interested in his Scooters ,not computers ,noted his computer work for future use & just enjoyed his spirit ! Recently I wanted a computer for my sweety & we went to some stores like Best Buy ,( I call it WORST BUY ) ! they sucked because they misrepresented some products & the total end price ! I remembered Steve & his neat little house ,so looked him up ,called & found a nice little tablet for stephaniee for a good price & gaurantee ! We showed up at a kind of inconvenient time for him because he had all kinds of non computer work he had to do caused by weather ! No problem ! Very gracious & we did errands & returned ! He stayed extra time to teach her how to use the tablet asking Detailed questions about what she would use it for ! Steve then made sure she had everything needed the machine didn't come with ,! Over an hour of instruction ! Great deal ! A freind looked up the unit Steve sold her - Under 1/2 price of new with 1 year gaurantee ! Yahhoo ! ! I bet I go back for a computer for my self ! You will know who you work with & are NOT giving a major Non caring corporation your $ ! GO THERE !
Shortly after we arrived, Guru started screaming profanities at a middle aged woman computer client and continued shouting the whole time he followed her to her car. He said that she knew absolutely f-ing nothing about computers and was f-ing wasting his time, and she needed to f-ing get out of there. She went to her car wordless, clutching her computer to her chest. I have anger management issues myself, so I left as fast as I could, but I still wish I had done something. If you were the woman client and you are reading this, I apologize to you that I didn't step in. Rude, abusive, scary and foul mouthed. Scaramucci? Nope. Computer Guru.
VERY RUDE AND CONDESCENDING!!!!!!!!!! Overpriced AND of course ONLY WANTS CASH. IRS needs to get this jerk!
I brought Steve an absolute mess. Two days later, I m up and running, better than ever, with a sweet system at a remarkably frugal price. I m pretty happy with results like these!
Took my 3-year-old macbook pro, whose hard drive was in its death throes, to the Computer Guru yesterday.
I read some really negative reviews here, which might have deterred me. But when I called Dot Foil they told me that it would cost $55 for them to diagnose the problem, which I could then credit towards the repair if the problem was repairable. That I could swallow but then they said I'd have to leave my computer for two days before a tech would even look at it. That's not an option for me--I have work to do.
I walked into the Computer Guru and Steven diagnosed my problem immediately while his lunch cooked in the next room. He fixed my computer that day, and even stayed late while my broken hard drive struggled to transfer my data to the new drive.
Some other reviewers mentioned that the prices are high. I didn't do a price comparison, so I can't speak to that. But to me time is money and if it's the difference between having to drive to Albuquerque to visit the Apple Store twice in one week (one to drop off, once to pick up, as I had to do a couple years ago) or leaving my computer for 2 days before a tech even looks at it at Dot Foil, I'm happy to pay a bit extra.
As far as Steven's personality, which some of the other reviewers took issue with--Yes, he was a bit of an "IT guy" type. So what? He knows what he's doing and a smart person would just manage their own reaction to any comments that they found annoying or whatever instead of take to the internet with some kind of vendetta. I mean, the Apple techs call themselves the "genius bar"--can we just accept that there is a certain personality type that people of this profession tend to have? It's not a big deal.
I never had such a bad experience with someone in my entire life. Not only talking about technicians or customer service, but with human beings. Firstable he treat me So bad the day I went there for the first time. I thought he might have a behavior problem but still gave him a second chance because the only thing I wanted was my computer running well. This guy not only was changing his mind about the possible solutions along the days, making me waste time and money after telling me that it was going to be fixed in one day. At the end he also gave me different options to solve the problem in a different way than the one he told me at the beginning. So I Chose one of those options but he didn t accept it, he got mad about my choice!!! When I went there to pick up my computer as we agreed before, He didn t want to give me my computer back even if I paid to him the money that we agreed by text messages the same day for the job that was badly done till that point!! So when I was there he started yelling and insulting me and my pregnant wife very aggressively and making obscene movements in front of my 3 year old daughter, saying he knows what to do with my computer and not me and that he changed his mind about the options he gave to me before and now I have to obey his own decision. Never seen something like this before. How is such a Menthal illness man free?!!! It didn t finish there, he took my cellphone and didn t want to give it back to me. Doesn t sound real at all!!! We had to call the police! The neighbors came and told us he is not well menthally. Such a movie scene we experimented with this old man. Incredible! We still paid to him the money for a work he didn t do well. Poor man, he needs to go to a psychiatric hospital to start a treatment urgently!!! We wasted time, energy, money and now my daughter is shocked!
The Guru has been a guru to The Land of Tranquil Light--YouTube channel by giving us excellent deals, creative service, and turn-around time so fast it was complete before we could turn around. TLoTL highly recommends the Guru. We hope we can keep him as a resource for life!
Responsive and high tech. Answer given and problems solved.....5+
I ve been working with Steven for years. He has great customer service and I would recommend him to anyone for any of the computer needs
The individual that runs this company (Steven Salemi) frequently promotes miss information and conspiracy theories about how wi-fi is dangerous and deadly on local community boards. Anyone with an ounce of knowledge about computers would know that these are ridiculous claims. I would not trust this company with a tamagotchi.
He seems to be technically up to par but his place of business is FILTHY and you should expect arrogance and being talked down to with your bill.
I needed to transfer valuable content from an aging hard disk produced with old software onto a new iMac. Concerned that much of that content and software would be incompatible with the newest operating system, I asked if my current system, and all the contents and settings on my hard disk could nevertheless be loaded on a newer machine. Steve gave me several options, the first of which--a clone of my hard disk--was successful, and I had a newer reliable computer up and running in about two hours. While I suspect Steve did not fully endorse my plan, he worked with me to provide exactly the service I asked for. I couldn't be happier.
This guy's bad he's rude and if you need evidence of that look at how he responds to bad reviews...went in asking about mid tower computer cases was told that he had a few they werent mid tower and he was rude the whole time.
I've been a customer of Steve--the Computer Guru--for over 7 years, buying a new computer, a used laptop, getting upgrades and repairs for several things. He has never failed to give prompt and satisfactory service. Steve doesn't white-wash what the problems with the system are--and how they likely got that way. I learn something from him every time I visit. He is knows his business and provides the services we need.
My friend visited and was verbally assaulted (screamed at) and gaslighted when simply asking for more information on a computer they were considering purchasing. Owner is clearly threatened by outside conpetition and intentionally witholds information. He is pushy and unstable. Not fit to be a business owner.
I have been going to the Computer Guru since 2000 and I am entirely happy with the high level of professional, friendly service I have received. He has helped me with my Windows Computers, and then when I switched to Apple, he helped me through that transition. I now have a MacBook Air, an Apple iPAD, an Apple Watch, and The Computer Guru helped me get all of these gadgets working and talking with each other. He helped me learn how to use them, too.
I offer the following comments as a result of my long experience with him. I am an intelligent, mature, experienced woman and I am an excellent judge of character:
If you want to have a BAD experience with the Computer Guru:
Question everything he says, even though you know nothing about computers yourself; cut him off when he suggests necessary upgrades to your old, outdated equipment; plan to spend an hour chatting breezily about every computer problem or question you have ever had, even though he is very busy working on computers belonging to people who have already hired him; act entitled to free information and be hostile to the idea that he likes and needs to be remunerated for his time; act as though you know as much as he does and come into his shop as though you are shopping at Wal-Mart, with the idea of getting as much free information as possible with no intention of necessarily buying anything; and have no respect for his considerable expertise, intelligence and honesty.
How to have a GOOD experience with the Computer Guru:
Bring your machine in the morning, briefly explain your problem, and let him provide an estimate. If you are smart, you'll leave the computer with him and follow his very sound recommendations and advice. Simply come back at the end of the day to pick up your machine, completely fixed - he can almost always deliver same day service - pay for it and go home in the knowledge that everything is now in order and your problems have been solved. In the unlikely event of any glitches, bring it back, politely point them out, and watch him rectify the issues before your eyes, while you wait.
Don't listen to the opinion of those who fell afoul of the Guru's tendency not to suffer fools, badly or otherwise; his desire is to be of service and he has sufficient self-respect that he will not be treated like a doormat. Have you hired him? No? Then remember, he owes you nothing. He values his time and he doesn't like to waste it. He has saved the computers and the data of countless people who went elsewhere first, and understood. I recommend him to all my friends, and they are thrilled with his services also. He is competent, professional, smart, witty, and wise.
When it comes to computers, The Computer Guru knows what he's doing, probably better than anyone else in our fair city. We should be glad and grateful that we have him serving us. These bad reviews are mind-bogglingly wrong; they must have been written by very unpleasant and (sorry) ignorant people. Like The Computer Guru, I grew up in a world in which everyone did not act so ENTITLED.
I purchased my custom-built computer here almost 5 years ago and it has been a great computer. I noticed that the back-up drive that he had installed was almost full, so I emailed him to find out if it was a problem and if so, what I could do to fix it. His reply was very fast and by following his advice, I was able to fix the problem.
Consistently poor customer service. Very abrasive personality. I've attempted to do business with this person 3 times over many years and each time I'm reminded to avoid him like the plague.
The Guru is Absolutely the Best! Intelligent, Knowledgeable, Whip-Smart, and Fun! He thinks outside the box (when that is appropriate) and devises fabulous solutions to the knottiest of problems. If you've had trouble of any kind with Steven, you should probably see a shrink. It is a joy working with him, I can recommend him without reservation! He's helped me out immeasurably, and I've seen him at work in his shop with other customers, with whom he is exquisitely patient.
Best Buy? Independent shops in Santa Fe? Online Resources? Fuggedaboutit! Just go see The Guru!
Steven was very helpful and a great problem solver.. One can just show up and receive one on one service at Computer Guru...Loved it!
I have been a very satisfied customer of Steven Salemi (the "Computer Guru") for 16 years and counting. During this time, I have serviced 7 computers with him, of which I have purchased 6 from his store. He offers much more knowledge and service than one can find especially at large, name brand, retail chain stores. It also helps to know the repair man, so to speak. Much like taking your cars to a reputable repair shop. You get good service and good advice from a person who knows their product, who keeps abreast of the latest technology and the like. If you live and work in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico, the Computer Guru on Agua Fria Street is the place to go for all of your computer and printer needs.
Had my gpu fail on my 2011 iMac. Not a easy install, everybody I contacted about fixing it didn t want to touch it. I contacted the guru and got my machine up and running in a week. Highly recommend the guru for anything computers!
I approached the Guru for guidance as to the recovery of data on a crashed hard drive from 2006. He heard me and divined my needs and desires, and he healed me and my hard drive! I am now a fully realized data monger where before, I was broken. I live in gratitude now for the embrace of the Guru! Namaste!
Superb Service, instant answers, this guy knows everything. I come from the Boston Area, a tech hub, and this guy has it going on, let me tell you. I would leave him SIX stars if I could! Thank you, Guru!
I bought a custom windows machine in February 2015 and today I contacted them about a backup issue the machine is having. With no wait at all, I got a quick reply on how to solve the problem. I'd call that great service.
Steve sure knows his stuff! I've brought him every computer problem I've had in the past seven years, big or small, and he gets things working again, typically on the same day. He stays current with emerging hardware and software, and he consistently delivers personalized service. I highly recommend The Computer Guru.
Steve greeted me warmly upon pulling into the COMPUTER GURU. I had told him about the recent crashing of my IMAC computer and that I was looking at getting another APPLE computer, as I was very happy with their products. Steve showed me reconditioned desk & laptop computers. He was very informative about what each computer would do and accommodated me in a trial run through both models. Performance and clarity were sharp on each. Steve offered me a free transfer of data from an external drive, key board, mouse and pad. He included the complete macOSmojave setup and installed free virus/cIeaner/malwarebytes, which I could easily upgrade. I was extremely pleased with the price... which also included a FULL one year warranty on the purchase. I am now home, completed some downloads and find that everything is fantastic with this acquisition and service. I now have a reliable friend for ALL my computer needs in Santa Fe. THANK YOU Steve Salemi.
Whenever I visit Santa Fe, I bring my laptop with me so I can go to The Computer Guru for periodic maintenance. I have not found anyone in the half dozen cities I have lived in that has Steve s knowledge and expertise in both software and hardware. I was just there again. Thank you, Guru, for yet another fantastic job. The ole laptop is humming once again.
Knows computers....severe anger management problem destroys customer service Beware
The Guru is very knowledgeable and confident in his skill.
Steve Salemi is my computer guru in Santa Fe. I purchased 3 laptops and one tower over the course of 15 years. The computers function as designed and he is always available for quality service and to answer questions. I recommend Computer Guru.
I took a flash drive that was corrupt and Steve tried a couple of programs to recover as many documents as possible. I had tried a few things to no avail. I'm very happy with my experience at Computer Guru and would not hesitate to go back if something else happens with my computers.
Service exceeded my expectations. More than the same-day fix of a frustrating update problem, my laptop got a full tune-up and I learned more about proper maintenance for it.
Steven IS THE BEST!! His knowledge and experience is incomparable. If you happen to have a situation that he hasn't the instant answer for, he won't stop until he has the problem solved. Just sold me the best computer I have EVER had. Thank, you, Steven!! Carolyn A. Santa Fe
I finally went to ComputerGuru after looking at his sign for the last 20 years. Definitely a santa fe icon on the corner of Agua Fria and St. Francis. I met Steve, the proprietor, and asked if he had some used macs for sale. He did. The machines and the prices were great. I bought one and he dedicated a day to setting it up plus co-ordinating my old laptop, iPhone and transferring data from a Samsung phone. Steve is generous, knowledgeable and dedicated to his craft. He differentiates between the information I need, and the vast expertise he has to offer. If I want his expertise on any issue, all I need to do is ask. Otherwise he did not overwhelm me with more details then I need. I highly recommend his service.
Worst Place to Go!!! Worst person on the planet. Just called to ask their rates the man on the phone stated he doesn t have an hourly rate, and only charges by the job. I then asked if he could give me a figure on a job he was rude from this point on, stating that I could build you a house or fix the drip in your sink (Man on the phone) wasn't even able to explain my problem about my laptop having a problem with the display. He then told me he was going back to work, and hung up. He apparently doesn t need the business.
Not prepared to operate safely -- i.e. no appointments -- during covid. Caveat Emptor
If you are looking to purchase a used computer (which he will customize for your purposes) or get computer repair, look no further! Not only is he extremely professional and knowledgeable, he also provides a quality level of service at a price that cannot be beaten! I don t leave reviews very often but felt inclined to in this case. I will most definitely be back if the occasion arises!
I had a terrible experience with this man. When he was unable to assist me with a particular problem, he became very irate and started yelling at me. I asked him to lower his voice and he stated he could do whatever he wanted to in his shop. I told him I did not feel safe with him yelling and flipping out and he just made fun of my request for calmness and professionalism. I later received a long string of text messages from him which were both insulting, unprofessional and unnecessary. He also made it clear in these messages that he does not value the safety of his patrons, only that they pay him. Please go somewhere else if you care about your well being.
Cleaned up our work imac, updates, virus protection software. Fast and reliable!
Steve helped me get my printer replaced and working in one day.
No nonsense, professional service addressing the problem at hand.
I had been debating getting a new computer for over a year, but chickened out every time because I am very familiar with the hassles/nightmares of getting an entire new system, transferring data, syncing everything (including hardware), etc., etc. I will jump right to the end of the story by saying that I have never had such A GREAT EXPERIENCE as I did with Steve at Computer Guru. My business is closed on Monday/Tuesday so I knew I had to do the deal and the big transfer on those days so I could "work out the kinks" after I got home in time for customers on Weds. So, fairly reluctantly, I bit the bullet and did it. Not only did Steve set me up with a GREAT SYSTEM that met my specific needs, he took the time (many, many hours) to work directly with me (at no additional cost) to help me do a fairly heavy data transfer and made sure that all my applications (that I use everyday) were installed correctly and working right. Even after all that, I still expected hours of headache at home when it came to physically setting up the complete system and the networking, etc. I was done within an hour! In short, it was the best decision I ever made for my business, it was painless and I couldn't be happier with my new computer! Literally, you're crazy if you go anywhere else for a new computer or to have computer work done on your existing computer. This guy REALLY KNOWS HIS STUFF. One of the best I've had the pleasure of working with. GO TO COMPUTER GURU. You won't be disappointed.
Savvy, timely, fair - a top-shelf laptop computer repair experience.
I can highly recommend Steven's work at Computer Guru. For the past several years, I've purchased three great running, problem-free computers from Steven and he's always been most helpful and informative. Last week when I purchased a computer from Steven he transferred all the information I needed from my old computer to my new computer at no charge. In addition, Steven, helped me get the software I needed to have my new computer be up-to-date and running smoothly. I'm not very computer savvy so I appreciate the patience and time Steven spends with me. Another great point...Steven checks in with me after the sale/service to see how things are going and if I've any questions. I have full confidence in and appreciation of Steven's computer knowledge and expertise.
I went to buy something off of Steven and when I told him it wasn't what I was looking for he called me names flipped me off and proceeded to harass me a via text even after I asked him multiple times to leave me alone he didn't stop until I treated to call the police for harassment
Computer guru is awsome . He helped me with my Toshiba laptop .very knowledgeable if you need any help with software or hardware .
These bad reviews are kind of unbeleavable..
The Computer Guru is a really nice and helpful guy. I like that he charges by job and gives free diagnoses. Other places would charge me $80+ just to tell me my old laptop is fried.
If I have any issues with my new system, I'll probably go to him. He seems like a realiable man that knows what he's doing.
An honest small business providing expert service with integrity. He will flatly evaluate what your computers need is, and charge fairly for his time and expertise.
I purchased a mac charger from him and three months later it stopped working. I showed up and let him know it had stopped working. No questions asked he gave me a brand new charger as per our verbal one year warrantee agreement. I was happy and relieved that there are still small local business out there that still operate with ethics and integrity instead of over indulgent paper work and big company beaurocracy.
I also had him upgrade my MacBook internal hard drive to a solid state with more storage. He successfully and quickly installed and transferred all of my data over to the new drive without any issues.
The computer guru is High tech where he needs to be, and low tech where he doesn t
Steven is very helpful, and dedicated to hia craft.
Took a older lab top to Steve for a review to see if it was worth trying to update or replace. Steve said the computer was old but in great condition and stated it would be wise to keep it. So he reprogrammed it from vista to window 10 and up graded the ram for a good fair price. Running great and saved us $$$ on a new one thanks Steve.
I've been working with Steven (The Computer Guru of Santa Fe, NM) for many years, and he has never failed to deliver prompt efficient and quality products and services. His fees are reasonable and his knowledge is outstanding. I highly-recommend him.
Well it compromises
Tegan watch the price
It took a while,
And team Recojen Hora This cash to pay them.
That place is really a fraud
Look for another place
Bad place
I would like to say that the adapter to my old computer fried. I was in a panic. I run two blogs and I have 5,000 Facebook friends and clients. I had no idea what to do, but the matter was urgent.
I therefore went to The Computer Guru of Santa Fe, where I had been two or three times previously. And he was immediately available and he had computers available (new and refurbished), and I was able to select an ideal computer for my needs.
Not only did I get the computer I wanted, but Steven promised a one-year warranty (just like new), and he promised to get the contents of my old dead computer transferred over. He did this -- I lost NOTHING -- and he did not charge me a penny for this data transfer, which took quite a long time.
He worked on it immediately and explained things to me in order to help me understand what I had done and how to better use the computer in the future. He also agreed to help me change all my passwords and write them down, so I would remember them. He also helped me with many unrelated iPhone problems, and the phone now "synchs up" to my computer beautifully.
The problem I had been having with my cell phone had to do with password and user name problems -- even though they were correct. Steven fixed this problem perfectly, even though Centurylink could not!!! Steven spent a good deal of unpaid time resolving these difficult problems with me, and now everything works beautifully -- better than ever before.
Steven offers classes for people like me who need to learn to better use technology in their personal and professional lives. As a result, I have a one-year warranty, sure, but I will take classes as well, and would encourage other people like me to do the same. This education can resolve stress and anxiety, and help people better function in today's high-tech world.
I asked Steve (The Computer Guru) to recover files that had been lost from my Dell XPS13 notebook computer when my hard drive failed and when the backup (on a WD external drive) could not recover the files. He made sure we were in agreement on what I wanted him to do, and completed the tasking in less than 24 hours to may complete satisfaction! A little pricy, but WELL WORTH IT!
Computer Problems? Say no more. My computer was hacked into and fried when Steven attempted to save my precious pictures and documents. I walked out a proud owner of a Mac reasonably priced with a quick tutorial of Mac usage. Three months later it had some hiccups that Steven took care of to my satisfaction. I do and have recommended him to friends and family.
On 5-14-18, I called this service. The man I dealt with was extremely rude - even hanging up on me. I noted that another person had the same experience. He sent a so-called technician to my home who did absolutely nothing to help me. I was charged $108 for nothing. I am telling all my computer-using friends to go to Steve Resnick. He is efficient, fair friendly and provided excellent services. Steve has his store off the old Santa Fe Trail at Paseo de Peralta.. He says "read my positive reviews". They are all from men. He is a misogynist who mis-characterized our agreement. He was perfectly fine with sending a
technician to my home. He never said I was being charged $108 for nothing done to correct the problems with my computer. You can read in his response to my original complaint his disdain and lack of principles. I have a Masters Degree in Science. Obviously, he is uneducated and a hater of women. 6-18-18 - Read his response. That is all you need to know. Why would he agree to send a technician, then charge me $108, then criticize me for not bringing my computer to the shop. If he had told me to bring my computer to the shop, I would have done so. He was
perfectly happy to send an incompetent technician instead - and still charge me for no service. He has more negative than positive reviews. Look at his site. The man is a scam artist. Steve Resnick of the computer store is honest and reliable. He would never have done this to me. And he won the highest awards in Santa Fe for that reason! I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this Bully who perpetrates illegal charges! 6-19-18 - Is the Computer Guru connected to a scam operation in the "Cochise Stronghold Campground" in Willard, New Mexico? I have reason to believe so. He frightens me. This man has no boundaries. His attacks on his customers (have read all of it by now - including assault on a woman and ample use of the "F-Bomb" should drive him out of business. I am a very determined advocate for victims of men like him. I spent my professional career fighting against scum like him. I was screwed by him, as were others. I am not afraid of bullies and will fight back. We cannot all be wrong. Just read how he responds to legitimate criticism. Look into "Cochise Stronghold Campground". He has messed with the wrong woman!!
Hey, this is Darrin from TLoTL, and I've got to tell you, I'm giving the Guru five stars because there's no option to give him six. Look, we've been doing business with this guy for a while, and he has never failed to amaze. Simply put: Look, if you need something computer related, or if you need computer stuff, just go to the Guru. Don't bother going anywhere else. Just don't, it's stupid.
I don't care how "smart" the guy is (I could do this too if I wanted, but I like my current job much better)- he is rude and a horrible business man. Tells people they can text, but won't tell what is available- not interested in
wasting time/money driving for overpriced stuff I don't want. Then is rude as heck. People are suckers if they think there's no better place to get/repair a computer.
My dealings with Steven Salemi have always been positive. The Computer Guru understands my business needs and is able to show me ways to optimize my use of computers in order to make my business operate efficiently. Steven knows computers. I tell him what I need, and he goes to work. The end product is exactly what I need.
The Computer Guru rocks, but that doesn't come close to telling the whole story. Steven Salemi is smart, and a computer expert, but he also grasps the total environment that is a computer and its users. And further, he tells it like it is. Some want to be mollycoddled. I know I do at times. Steven cuts right to it. He provides a BS free zone. He speaks with philosophy, intelligence, and heart. He cares. If your computer can be saved he will save it. If its done he will tell you straight up. He is actually fully motivated and genuinely enthusiastic to get you back up and running and to tell you the real story about where you are at, right from the start. I LOVE his special brand of truth telling. If you are strong, you will not only have your computer back and working fabulously, you will grow!

Been doing business with Steve for 10+ years. Great guy, highly competent. Recommend very much.
Got fast competent service. Fixed my problem right away.
I have been bringing my sons gaming computers to Steven the Guru for years! He is very knowledgeable and provides personal support with all of our computer needs. Highly recommend The Computer Guru!!
He is a genius. He has saved my butt on several occasions and his prices are very fair
I was very happy with his knowledge, service, expertise and his willing to listen to my needs. I will be recommending him to my friends, family and acquaintances.
I am very happy with his follow up after my service.
Thank you Computer Guru!
Computer guru is the best in santa fe I dont see how there could be negative reviews on here there honest fair and have the best knowledge about the computer world I will keep coming for ANY computer needs
The Computer Guru always takes care of us. You can trust that he knows what hes doing!
Steven tried to rip me off, and then cursed me out multiple times when I asked him about other prices.
This guy has no customer service skills whatsoever! Asked a simple question and the guy is just rude, short, arrogant, and flat out horrible!
I made a basic business inquiry after seeing a Craigslist ad, which included wanting to know how long they d been in business, basic pricing info, if they warranty their work, have local customer references and a business website. Not one of these questions was answered. Instead, the owner proceeded to badger me with a succession of aggressive emails asserting these questions were for: Craigslist tire-kickers, neurotics, and nincompoops. My business is a huge success, and has been so since opening day in 1996. I welcome additional business but don't need it. Craigslist is unimportant but it's free and I do pick up additional business that way, even though the clientele it attracts is a bit C-3. He told me providing this information was considered help would only be offered if I appeared at their store. No reputable business or professional responds like this. Customers beware!
Definitely the most amusing Google review comments I've seen! Like many really smart people (think Steve Jobs) Steven Salemi doesn't suffer fools or bargain-hunters kindly. Many people consciously or unconsciously treat service providers like servants and their tone of voice reflects this. Steven won't tolerate that kind of bullsh*t for a second. My advice to potential customers is to go to his shop (with or without your computer) and directly speak with him. He does regard phone calls as a nuisance, as you can tell from his VERY long voicemail message. My other advice is not to call him looking for a bargain on a $5 cable. You won't get far. Steven is a pleasure to work with and quite witty and entertaining -- and he knows his stuff like few other techies I've met. He could have easily gotten a six-figure salary to be a creative drone at a big tech company but Steven is a man who marches to his own drummer. He will tell you forthrightly if he can't help you. I can't comment on his prices overall but I bought a very fast computer that he had built for a reasonable price. He was very patient and attentive to my numerous texts about my needs and issues as I was setting it up.
The guy is an arrogant *ss and should not run a business. He told me "Go back where you came from...". I'm Jicarilla Apache.
I highly recommend Steven for all your computer needs. Had issues with my keyboard and Steven helped save my money by replacing keyboard instead of having to buy a whole new laptop.
He also made sure everything else was in top shape and my laptop now is running as if brand new!!!
Steven is so knowledgeable and explains everything he is finding out about a problem in words I can totally understand.
Thank you so much Steven...
We visited this store on the 3rd of July this year. I asked the Store owner if we could get assistance in adding an existing Gmail mail account on my mothers IPAD. We had just come off an extremely bad experience with another company Apple Core LLc and thought we would try one more time. The owner told me he could do it so I asked what he charged and he said he didn t provide quotes. Ok I say, can you tell me what your rate would be? No I don t have an hourly rate. I said can you give me any indication of what it might cost and he started to get agitated with me. There were 4 of us in the store and we all started to feel really uncomfortable as he was obviously get annoyed with us. We said thanks but we will wait till we get home to Michigan, my sister commented it would help if he could give us an indication of what his rate was. As we left the shop he came to the door and shouted abuse telling us to F$%K off and we should F%^K off to where we came from (We are visiting Santa Fe). He delivered this abuse about 2 feet from me so I said why are you being so aggressive? Why are you so angry? He said because we were F%^&en wasting his time (we had been in the shop approximately 5 minutes) as we left he continued to shout abuse. Wow this was the second such experience in two stores visited in Santa Fe. This guy was horrible!
He is my go-to computer guy. Have bought computers and had them serviced. I am fully satisfied!!
As it happened, I did not buy anything. But Steve was knowledgeable, understanding and responsive to all my questions. For that, I'm appreciative and award 5 stars.
i am convinced this man has never used a computer before
edit: the below response will be used as evidence in an upcoming lawsuit
I came to The Computer Guru of Santa Fe with problems related to AOL on my Apple iPhone and iPad. Apple technicians on all levels were not able to resolve the problem -- but The Computer Guru did! He was able to reset my iPad, update it (which I'd never done), and provide much valuable guidance and help in the future correct use of my gadgetry, which will help my business. Highly-Recommended, surely the best Computer Resource in Santa Fe!
Bad he tell you a final price
And you pick up you computer
He changed more
Bad place look for other places
Funky but I got what I needed on time at estimate andga a bit more. Not an IT person but can say he is much better than Geek squad.
I wasn t going to leave a review after reading all the awful things that were said about this man. Everyone had already said it for me, but truthfully, I just want to give a warning more than anything. This man seems to have some aggression issues and lacks professionalism and patience. After a brief pause in our phone conversation I thought maybe it was an invitation to speak. He commented I wasn t finished and then immediately hung up. It s possible I may have mistook the pause and interrupted him, but I did nothing that warranted him to hang up. Be cautious when dealing with people that are quick to react like this. His behavior comes across as very unkind and irrational.
