Stayed here for 8 nights whilst in Toronto for our honeymoon. Our room was a great size however the decor was very dated and needed an update. It seemed to be very much a business hotel as lots of airline staff stayed what on layovers! Not great when you are on honeymoon. Chose this hotel for its location and the fact it was supposed to be 4 stars but I was very disappointed by it and it certainly didn't live up to my expectations.

Clean! There are some minor issues though with the tv working funny, washroom door getting slightly stuck, and ac working on and off. The price for the room is through the roof, but it really is not special in any way. Restaurants are expensive too. It's a better idea to eat out. Plenty of food choices around, lots of entertainment.

My family visited for a weekend, and service was excellent; however, our first room was fairly small with 2 full beds. We upgraded to a suite which was comfortable but unimpressive. The rooftop bar is for club members only which is disappointing, but understandable in such a large hotel.

Ridiculous check in times
Disorganized lobby. Haven't even seen our rooms yet. Got off the highway early, had. To wait four hours before even possibly checking in. Melting in the heat waiting.

Worst hotel i hv been to . Zero service.. constant reminders were required for water bottles and then to be told after 3 hours of waiting..that we dont serve water.. .. this on 4th night of our stay...while water bottles were served on 1st 3 nights
cards not needed to access floors while thats the thing of the day.for security purpose.so basically any random person is walking outside ur room..it being a huuge hotel with 1540 rooms..scary scene.

Locker is in the bathroom n at such low level..

Thermocol glasses in room for coffees teas..seemed like we were in a hostel

The most disgusting breakfast system ever... never invite your guests there for breakfast there as payment system is pathetic. Coffee machine was not working in the coffeeshop for 3 days out of 4 that we were there.. the resttt which is open till little late and can serve you a good coffee and beautiful cherry cake has grumpy server of an old woman who needed pampering to smile..
My credit card was swiped for pre authorisation and debited at at that stage itself-who does that?yet to be refunded aftee 2 weeks and 2 reminders
Long concierge queue always

Location 5/5
Room size 4/5
Rest all 0/5
Spend a little more n stay in the amazing historical Fairmont next doors... or there are plenty of hotels of all categories around
Chelsea-u spoilt my Toronto experience

Pros: Polite front desk staff, helpful concierge, comfy bed. Cons: Grimy tub, busted TV, woken up by drunken revllers at 3am, super rude breakfast lady who accused us of trying to "steal" buffet breakfast.

I liked the babysitting service they offer.
However, they have given an email address on their website but do not expect quick reply as in my case it took 14 hrs for my first email and 23 hrs for the second one to receive a reply while i was in my way to Toronto saying something went wrong and reservation had been cancelled. I reserved another room on my phone. Come on! This is 21st century

The Chelsea hotel was where my wife and I held our wedding. It was an absolutely phenomenal service. The food, was delicious. The bartenders, were skilled. The servers, were fast on their feet. The manager Lewis and the hotels wedding planner Jen were fantastic and hung around at our service the entire time. The hotel handles everything from decor to setting up the ceremony room and the reception and dinner, they also helped set up for the DJ and all our vendors. We did not have to lift a finger and the photographer had total freedom to work. We could not have asked for a better hotel for our wedding. Our guests were given 50% discounts for rooms and they were extremely comfortable and clean. My wife and I were given the honeymoon sweet that is basically an entire condo for the night of our wedding and for free a year later on our anniversary for a fully loaded complimentary stay. I would recommend the Chelsea to ANYONE who's looking for good service, food and stay.

The hotel was nice, rooms were slightly dated and the washroom was a little tight. The staff was very kind and helpful. We lost our car keys in the hotel and almost thought we couldn t get home because our spare key was in the car as well. Jason, Glen, Alin and Devan were quick to find our keys and were like life savers for us that day. I would recommend staying here, it is right in downtown which is very convenient and the staff is great!

I always find the Chelsea very clean, friendly, and accommodating. It is centrally located and everything is just outside in any direction. Staff is friendly, informative, and eager to help in anyway. Love the pools and kids activities and they have in room babysitting available! My only gripe is a small one, the blue elevators are usually super slow with long lines and crowding on weekends.

Nice central location. The hotel is a good standard however it's starting to look a bit tired. Things like the grouting in the bathroom looks dated and dirty and the furniture is tired. Reception was incredibly busy when we checked in and out and we had to line up and wait to be helped. An express checkout option would have helped.

They have very small rooms and the place is a little dated. The breakfast buffet was terrible and extremely expensive at $25 a plate. They do not have any parking for large vehicles and we had to walk two blocks from a public parking lot.
However, the staff is courteous and very pleasant. They are the reason I even gave this place one star

Great stay, great service. Nice updated adequate sized room. Huge hotel. I was in the 2052. It was the furthest room for the elevator. That's ok with me I like a good walk. Oh and spectacular location. Best bang for your buck downtown.

I was disappointed with the Chelsea. I stayed here a few years back when it was a Delta and it felt like I was staying at a 5-star hotel.

This time, we had difficulties at check-in, check-out, twice when parking, one of the nights a fire alarm went off for over an hour, they had cheap toilet paper, few pillows, expensive room service, no fridge, no microwave, and bad hours for the fitness center and kids section. Plus screaming drunks running up and down the hall all night long.

Yes, there actually was a small fire. So I didn't pull a star for that, even though I feel like 1 hour is a long time to leave the fire alarm going, to not even tell us whether there actually was a good reason for the alarm or not.

They had a kids check-in, which was cool. They brought more pillows the next day when asked, that's about it.

The beds are also small. I definitely will not be booking at the Chelsea again, nor would I recommend it. I'll be trying somewhere different the next time I return to Toronto.

I originally was going to give them 1 star but I found out there really was a fire, from the news, and my son lost a stuffy that they returned to us. Each of which earned back a star. The quality of this hotel was the low point of our vacation to Toronto.

The hotel was very busy, which made checking in pretty time consuming. Staff were polite, rooms were clean. On a quieter street with some good restaurants/patios. Breakfast buffet was a fortune ($24), ended up walking to Tim Hortons a block away.

Pretty good hotel. I have stayed there a number of times this year. Walking distance to all types of stores and restaurants. Unfortunately with Covid , there are only one option to eat in the hotel and it is take out only. I have stayed there in the past with everything open and had a great time then. Hopefully, this will change soon.

The staff are friendly and very helpful with booking tours and providing directions. Unfortunately, we were put in the older part of the hotel and so the comfort was not as good as I would have liked. The rooms can get quite warm and the traffic is very loud, especially at night. The beds we received were a bit old and pillows lumpy. A fridge would be extremely helpful but the service was good enough for the few days we spent.

Hotel parking was castrophobic and the air conditioning system in the hotel is poor. The breakfast is also expensive as they expect you to pay for an entire buffet. The service was poor as well. However, the hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable. The location is great as it s close to many tourist destinations and is within walking distance of Eaton Centre.

A great location for a great price in downtown Toronto. VERY dated, I was told I was getting one of the newly renovated deluxe rooms.... I hope and pray that they didn't go with a run down theme in mind. Staff was hit or miss, the balcony was in poor condition. Overall it wasn't a bad stay.

Found many long hairs in my bed(my head is shaved...), restaurant food/drink were utterly dissapointing, could hear all the noise from the streets, had a 1hr long fire alarm at 230am where the employees didn't know what to do. Overall would not stay again

A great family hotel with the water flume the kids lived, an adults pool and jacuzzi was a.telaxing way to unwind. Great service and very quick to respond to your needs. Excellent location. The balcony's are not very finished, but you are so high up you don't venture out there too much anyhow.

This is a huge hotel in a great location. You can find everything in a waking distance.
It really needs some renovation, rooms are old, painting coming out of the door, for example.
There s no fridge in the room, we missed it.
The bed is super comfortable.
We arrived at the hotel at 6am and they didn t allow us to check in, even though there was rooms available. They said we could check in for a $125 fee. I was sick and I was really looking forward to go to the room. They let me check in at 10am. Fair enough, I just think if the room is available it would be a nice gesture.
I would stay again.

Extremely noisy from both inside and outside. Windows do not prevent cold air from coming in. Interior is aging. It really seems like the owner has done nothign with the hotel since it was taken over from Delta in 2012.

A totally middle of the road hotel for business or staying in downtown. The rooms were small but fine. Some of the fixtures seemed updated.

The elevators were unreliable. The lobby was always busy but lots of staff to help.

The bathrooms are clearly out of date. The toilets are loud and wasteful.

Only huge complaint: The showers are ridiculous. Why would the shower head be so low down? The water hit me below shoulder blades. Short people will still get wet if they moved it up higher.

Utterly chaotic upon check in. Took a full hour to sort parking (valet never appeared, self-parked across the street). This hotel is like a small city unto itself. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, this is not the spot for you.

Pro: Adults-only spa and pool area.
Con: Room service ends at 12:30 a.m., which is early given the location of the hotel.

Friendly, if beleaguered staff. Will not be returning.

Hotel was nice, you can tell it is an older hotel when you look at some things. It was nice and clean though, comfortable bed.

A couple negative things are that there was no fridge in the room and the breakfast at the Market Garden is extremely expensive. Breakfast cost $60 for two people to have buffet. We avoided the restaurant once we saw the price, there's lots around to eat.

Huge Hotel right at Younge Street. Often very busy. Reception is very friendly and helpful. I personally love the gym on the 27th floor with an fantastic view over Toronto and it's own terrace where you can spent some time out of the crowd. Equipment is less than 10 years old but perfectly in shape

The room we got was pretty good. I would not recommend taking the upgrade if it is ever offered. It really isn't worth it. The walls in the room are kind of thin as well. The balcony is advertised but is not very nice and not well maintained.

Most of the higher ratings of this hotel are fake.

This is a giant motel. It is better than sleeping in your car or on the street. I have avoided this place for years, even when it was branded Delta, I knew better than to stay here. This week I was forced to stay here for work and will never go back.

Pros: good location, friendly staff, lobby, room somewhat clean.

Cons: expensive parking, poorly trained staff, overpriced food and drink(there are 100 other great places within 100ft of each entrance that serve actual food), TERRIBLE BEDS, no fridge, no microwave, no real HVAC system, WiFi had dial up speeds or worse(took 2 minutes to upload an 86kb pdf). Check in lines were long but I don't care, I was tricked into paying for the room plus 40% "deposit" when I got there and they pre authed my card for a week. Cable and phone signals were abysmal. So old it still has balconies. Sounded like hotel renovations at 1030pm for hours.

Originally designed as a student dorm and should go back to that.

Had a mini coffee machine with 2 paper cups. Not bad for an emergency but they never restocked the cups in a week. DON'T STAY HERE.

I stayed here a number of times when it was the Delta Chelsea but stopped doing so. The place was tired and the service was in decline. I decided to give it a second shot when my new usual place was fully booked and I saw the photos of the lobby renovation. I was very disappointed that the guest rooms have not been touched. The rooms really, really need a refresh. They are very drab. I had no problems with service, but I overheard a number of people in the lobby complaining about the quality of service ... bordering on rudeness. I will not be coming back if I can avoid it.
