Magnificent terrace on the Grand Canal. the facade facing the street is horrible.
Very nice staff, in the "Casa Nova" really pleasant room with a great bathroom. Breakfast buffet is great.
Class and quality hotel in the central area of Piazza San Marco.
Luxuriously decorated lobby.
Lobby and bar area excellent cocktails occasionally quality live music.
Ruuned New Years for my wife and I. Liars and scumbags with elitist attitudes! I will NOT be the only one writing a review like this. Bauer Palazzo was advertised as the place to be on New Years. An adult Gala with food and drinks of over $350 per person and promises of exclusive access to a fireworks show over the canal. Dress code was to be highly enforced. No children allowed. A set menu put in place.
When my wife and I arrived it was obvious Baurr Hotel had taken it upon themselves to decide "status" of the attendees and separated arrivals into venue tables. Upon entering we were placed in an upstairs room. Crying children were running around, couples were wearing snow jackets and Jean's with snow caps they wore the whole evening. Men were hanging out IN the womans bathroom.
Drinks outside a glass of champagne was 25 euros but said to be included. The dinner plates were 8 inches around so you could have all you wanted as long as the servers gave it to you keeping their portions to a minimum. The food was something you would find in a buffet in Las Vegas. But then it gets really good....time to see the fireworks
But you see we were not allowed to see the fireworks because although we paid $700 for my wife and I to attend. Her in a $1000 dress and I in a $2000 suit bought just for this event, we were not good enough to go on the deck of the canal and watch the fireworks with all the chosen "elites" picked earlier. This made the attendees furious which caused security to start fights and argue with the attendees which finally agreed to allow them on to the deck 10 minutes AFTER midnight. After New Years Eve!
Comments were made by attendees that we all could have saved $1000's of dollars and watched the fireworks outside on our own and eaten a good meal and saved $100's of dollars. The security guards of the hotel simply said "then next time that's what you should do" they stated "Bauer officials told us specifically this group were not allowed on the deck" they were to "keep us out until 10 minutes after" we were told to go outside. We were told we were unimportant as the others. Mind you we had hotel guests in our party and the staff and security did not even care about them and told them they could go to their rooms or the terrace by their rooms.
I came 1000s of miles to spend New Years in Venice at the Bauer Palazzo and they ruined my stay, my evening, my experience celebrating my anniversary with my wife, and my and our New Years.
Bauer Palazzo is a swanky hotel and traveling through the world I have stayed at some of the finest. The difference is how THIS hotel treated its guests. It DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS! Do NOT be fooled by this hotel. Wolves in sheeps clothing. Go somewhere they appreciate your business and where you will be given the exact experience as any other guest with the respect you deserve.
I have 120,000 international internet followers online. If they do not make things right with the evening, I plan a marketing campaign that will show Bauer Hotels for what they are and affect them the only place they care about. Their pocketbook! Please put your same New Years experience on review as well so the world can see this company for what they are. Thank you!
The Bauer Hotel was very elegant, opaque, and decorated in a traditionally Venetian style. The breakfast/dining room provided a variety of foods, both Italian and American in nature. Customer service was great as all employees were attentive, amiable, courteous, and hospitable. Oh, and the location was amazing! I would highly recommend the Bauer Hotel to anyone visiting Venice.
The most impressive detail in this hotel (besides the view from my room, which they upgraded on their own) was the personal and their attention to details and concept of service. Very attentive, generous and decent personal. I m very happy about my experience in this hotel.
Extraordinary view, very kind and supportive staffs, its restaurant serves great foods...have a dinner here to enjoy the true venezian atmosphere...
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Right next to Mark's Square and all of the major sights. Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Great breakfast. Exceptional staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Environment kitchen service unique location furnishings to be enjoyed once in a lifetime
Historic Venice Inn
Five-star accommodation experience
Close to boutique street
I had the pleasure of being a guest of the terrace from which you can enjoy a fabulous view of Venice.
The prices are commensurate with the location, but what struck me and made the difference compared to other "high-end" places was the courtesy, helpfulness and kindness of the staff.
Given the special occasion, not only were they able to get us some very good "Cicchetto" from the kitchen, but they honored my partner with a surprise dessert for her birthday.
I will definitely come back
Only eaten. But very classy and very professional. Hyper good place
A lovely hotel with great service. The roof top terrace is a must for breakfast and relaxing in the afternoon.

Great location, 5 minutes walk to St. Mark's Square, room furniture has a sense of history, very atmospheric
It is a 5 star hotel but the service is not up to par. There is no complimentary water for guests, everything has an extra cost. Not a detail with the clients ...
Best place in Venice! The room was awesome and the place was within walking distance to all the destinations you need. One tip I'd suggest is to just hire a water taxi from the airport straight to the hotel. It's way more convenient than taking the public route.
Great hotel. Good area !! Must stay there ones!!!!!!
E un hotel molto bene!!!
Avevamo un suite molto grande con tutto che si avrebbe bisogno.
Anche la cena era buonissimo.
Superb location on Canal Grande and next to San Marco Square ..... but the accommodation in the separate wing (which looked like servants quarters) was well bellow par. Entering lobby was like entering dungeon. The lift was good for 2 More
Service at the Bauer Palazzo is terrible. My husband and I thankfully stayed at the Bauer Palliado but had dinner at the Bauer Palazzo on our last evening in Venice. Wow. It was possibly the worst service I ve ever received in my life. We gave up on getting our dinner after two hours wait. We asked for the check. Nothing was compensated for lack of service. The server did apologize but he didn t have control over it. They were asking us for our dessert order before we were even served our main course (which we never received)! It was awful!
The Bauer Palladio was excellent. The staff and service is impeccable. I highly recommend staying far away from Palazzo and going somewhere else where they value the US $.
Just amazing the view of the plaza was great did not need a special view. The room was wonderful and addressed the time/era that was. Much appdeciated the hospitality. Everything was refreshed and clean. Turn down service and a crib for the baby. Every detail was done. The bathroom we had was a dream we even took 2 baths each. Luxurious beyond words.
Very nice rooms, obviously expensively kitted out 15 years ago. But still comfortable and good enough. Great location, hence 4 stars. Nice breakfast but nothing super special. Good staff. Could be amazing, little bit of a wasted opportunity.
The hotel is very chic and is great, right on the Grand Canal and very close to St. Mark's Square. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful and the breakfast right on the canal is awesome and also makes a very pleasant quiet contrast to the otherwise crowded and hectic Venice.
Also, the hotel offers (of course) everything you would expect, making it a great place to stay when in Venice.
Those with a condition can stay here. Immaculately gorgeous hotel next to San Marco Square and Gondola stop in the heart of Venice. We will join our caravan Tour Gondola Tour overcrowding kaybetmi tik.36 after year, this time with my wife is an angel been instrumental in making our gondola tour guide for the first time I came to find our receptionist Angelica's support and aid them in Venice.
Hotel con vista mozzafiato. ...centro di Venezia. ..stupendo
Dinner on the terrace "in the seventh heaven", the music of Maestro Morricone played beautifully live. Exceptionally add the dishes of chef Tomei and a starry night and understand what excellence can be. But if you are still missing something then you need to meet the maitre d 'Mauro. An extraordinary person! Professional of cordiality and sympathy. With a slight flaw: he is Juventus. But he knows how to be forgiven for this too.
Very nice and near the canal
Loved it
We have been staying for a second time in this hotel. The hotel is an elegant, old-style hotel located in a very central location, by Piazza San Paolo in Venice, large rooms, clean, luxurious, with heating, towel heater, large and cozy towels, all you need. To a certain temperature, high, and we were unable to download, ..A taxi station right at the entrance to the hotel, which makes mobility easier in the area.
Best hotel I've stayed in. Great holiday, great hotel, not so great prices!
Splendido hotel con terrazza dalla vista meravigliosa sul canal grande. Piatti della tradizione ma dall'aspetto creativo e moderno, un connubio perfetto per una cena perfetta, accompagnata da un'ottima scelta di vini.
Amazing hotel. Best location in all of Venice. Right next to St. Mark's Square, across the canal from the Basilica, and a 3-minute walk to the Theater. The room was definitely 5-star quality with a view of the Rio De S. Moise and the Grand Canal. Staff was great and never expected a tip for anything (Italian thing). I will definitely stay here again.
Comfortable rooms and beds. Great fresh breakfast and helpful employees.
Absolutely amazing! Service, ambience and the view everything is right and perfect! Roof top bar / restaurant absolute must in Venice
Excellent hotel. Excellent breakfast. Great location.
Jazz concerts are organized in the bar of the hotel, a bit expensive for drinks, but good atmosphere
One of our favorite hotels on our vacation. It is walking distance to St Mark's square and if you are lucky you can get a view that overlooks the canals. The breakfast in the morning has many options. Room service is prompt and accurate. The concierge was very knowledgeable and the entire staff were very approachable. They even gave us a complementary bottle of Prosecco for our honeymoon.
Had a snack and jazz session. Amazing location, beautiful hotel but slightly aloof staff, not too friendly.
Wonderful hotel! Wonderful views! Exquisite menu in restaurant!
Wonderful hotel in a great location. Fabulous staff very attentive. The views over the grand canal just breathtaking
Fantastic place and ideal views over the Grand Canal
Great rooms, great service. Only the air conditioning has an unpleasant smell in the room spread.
Eccellente... Bar & Music very cool.! Nice ladies around...
The reservation of our room was misleading, they gave us a suite in the Casanova building which we had no idea that bauer had three other building and although we booked for Bauer main hotel they automatically had transferred us to casanova building. That with them having the knowledge that we were in our honeymoon..
Restaurant of the absolute top class.
Inlet only with sakko !!
very creative kitchen ........
Stayed in this lovely hotel 4 weeks ago had a wonderful suite with beautiful rooms in the penthouse it had 2 large bedrooms a sitting room and 2 bathrooms so spacing, it's location is perfect close th everywhere you want to see in lovely Venice. Great breakfast in a nice restaurant the food was fresh and lots of choice with very professional waiters to help if you wanted any specific food. Nice quick check in and good reception staff and area all together first class in a Beautiful Hotel would definitely return in the future .
Just stayed here for three night was laughable how rude the staff were , got the feeling staff don't like working here
First night was not allowed in the bar as it was fully booked with a jazz night (was told we could sit in the reception and listen to the music in the bar )
Room was nice and was happy we had a large terrace
Got to hotel 1pm but you can't go to your room until 3pm
No tea or coffee in rooms
Disappointed really this once 5 star hotel is no more
Great central location, amazing service and staff, beautiful room. Incredibly spacious and comfortable. Also provided live music at the bar each night.
Excellent food with a view of the Grande Canal. Highly committed and attentive staff. The hotel rooms are very clean and elegantly furnished. We were completely happy and looked after.
Can only say that the bathroom is very comfortable, the other is almost the same, nostalgic atmosphere ~
I was going to leave a single star for having to check my bar account with an error in my favor denied twice. The worst that any professional can do a site with a good reputation. This happened in the indoor bar during a jazz concert. The great professionalism of Massimo in the impressive terrace of the hotel has made me decided to put three stars.
Fantastic hotel, with the building a mixture of old and new. Perfect location at the mouth of the Grand Canal and round the corner from St. Marks Square. Excellent friendly service.
There is a large frontage to the canal, where breakfast is served in the excellent restaurant. There is also an outside bar on the top floor with great views. Most bedrooms are not that large but high quality and some have great views.
There is a free shuttle boat to Giudecca, where they have another hotel.
Nice hotel, good decent service but the wifi could be better
Excellent location to spend special convivial or professional moments
Convenient location, luxurious suites, very helpful staff.
This place takes you back in time. Really brilliant service and an unbelievable hotel
We have been coming to the Bauer for several years. Well located, with relatively large, comfortable rooms and attentive staff.
What to say?! Historic place with a breathtaking terrace overlooking the Salute. Great restaurant
