I was there for their Jazz night at the lounge. Great atmosphere, band, and service. Expect, however, to pay a pricey service charge and a big premium for drinks. Definitely worth the experience

We stayed here for 4 nights, and where do I begin.. the staff were not friendly but were helpful. The room we had, had a few problems.. the tv's speakers were blown, the phones buttons were broken, the mini fridge didn't get cold at all, the pillows were literally rock hard we had to ask for new softer ones, and the bathroom showers grout had mold on it. They are all small things yes, however to be called a 5 star hotel these things shouldn't be seen here especially for the price we paid. And as others have mentioned it is a very dated hotel. If I come back to Venice or if any friends come to Venice i wouldn't recommend the Bauer hotel. Only thing good is the location.
Wi-Fi is strong and picks up outside the hotel.
The rooms are gorgeous, clean and wonderful.
The breakfast was also rich.
Because the building is old, there are few outlets and the location is bad, so it is difficult to charge.
There is a dock so you can take a taxi directly from the hotel.
Absolutely amazing hotel; historic, well-appointed, great music, et cetera. Only drawback...lil pricy.
Extremely clean rooms. Great service. Good restaurant overlooking the Grand Canal. Extremely varied breakfast selections
We made two strategic stops. The first one in front of the Hotel, with our guide Miguel from "Surland / Lusanova" explaining some important details before taking the gondola ride and, after the tour, we enter the Hotel to go to the bathroom and take some internal and same photos. , the Lounge and the outdoor area. By the way, all very fancy ...
Historic, elegant hotel. Rooms have a very nice ambience to it. Buffet breakfast was okay. Not as many choices compared to the other hotels we stayed. Room service was excellent. Hotel very close to name-brand shops, Saint Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace.
Excellent structure. Elegant rooms. Prefer the suites of the Casanova wing for tranquility. Splendid panoramic view from the roof terraces. Strategic position a few tens of meters from Piazza San Marco.
One of the nicest hotels in Venice. The terrace and restaurant right next to the Grand Canal are lovely and the rooftop terrace bar is the best in Venice.
Definitely worth the price difference. Service and amenities reflect booking cost. Worthwhile experience.
Huge apartment like room. Great customer service. Very convenient.
Nice facilities but I did not like the cleanliness given to the rooms gives the impression that they do not wash the bathrooms .. the price of food in the restaurant is excessive.
Beautiful hotel top location. 5* hotel hmmm not so sure. If u have ever done Dubai, then u know what 5* is. Saying that it's a fantastic hotel, stall are friendly, Venice is just the nuts.
One of the best hotels to stay in Venice, its location is extraordinary, its restaurant with the terrace on the grand canal is really fantastic, the breakfast in the attic surprises you with its views and the rooms facing the canal are for spending time to your windows
Wonderful dining room staff, wonderful welcome, superb food
The lobby, the architecture and location great. But the room size and facilities is quite poor for a 5 hotel
Elegance and history. Welcome and class. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Very good location; quiet, central. Great staff; Concierge organized everything - parking for the car, dinner, water taxi, excursion to Merano, everything was great. Room a bit dusty, but nice. Breakfast on the terrace on the Grand Canal, unique! Roof terrace for cocktails absolutely great.
A very nice hotel with a spectacular location adjacent to the Rio S. Moise leading to the Grand Canal. Very attractive modern entry with many traditional Venetian touches inside. The hotel is located opposite Bottega Veneta, Prada and Versace for the luxury brand shopper with similar premier stores nearby. The real gem for me is the Assouline bookstore inside the hotel. Here you can spend time imagining how the other half lives with a library full of these beautiful publications. Attentive, friendly staff, clean rooms with plenty of amenities. Lovely canal side dining, especially in the evening. Not as expensive as some other nearby hotel properties.
I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights from 6th to 8th September 2016. I was given room no 40 in the adjoining building which is one street away from the main buildings. The room was terrible like a dormitory and the wooden beams in the top floor ceiling were visible. There were no windows, the AC was not working, and I was rather confined to a prison cell and was almost suffocated. Despite my request again and again the room was not changed because advance payment had been made in full. Stay in this hotel but tell them not to provide the room in main building. Never room no 40. I even sweat when I think how I stayed on that room
Take the boat directly to the door, fun, very close to the boutique, the room is antique
Beautiful but pricey. Don't recommend getting any clothes washed or ironed.
Meets my expectations even in non-renovated rooms yet
So close to St Mark's square! And very close to the water bus stop. Clean and functional air conditioning.
Excellent service, very friendly staff .. a special thanks to the dining room manager Mr. Mauro Scarpa for his immense availability and professionalism.

Stayed in a suite overlooking the Grand Canal, all excellent. Terrace with stunning views. Great staff. Only advice being for a 5-star hotel and having paid for the suite a little over 3000 euro for three nights; the mattress was not the greatest comfort. Thank you
Amazing place. Definetly the best roof top view in Venice.
Staff at the hotel was very polite. The reception guided us to the back elevator that reaches it.
The bar staff was also amazing. Really polite and respectful. They seated us immediately and were always nice to us.
We decided to get some drinks for my wife's birthday in a special place. We definetly managed to do that. We got two glasses of wine and received some complimentary nuts (drink snacks are normal in Italy). They served us really profesional. Made sure the glasses are Chiles before they got wine in it. The cocktails at the tables around us looked also apetising. Price wise, they are on the high side, but the quality is there and you get this amazing view to come with it. It gets busy in the evening and get a blouse or light jacket as it gets windy up there.
As we were there during the covid phase, the staff was wearing masks and the tables were quite far from eachother to make you feel comfortable. Definetly will come back.
Classic, but not outdated. A hotel with warmth that space itself gives me
(If you take a water bus from Santa Lucia, you can come across a bridge; you know someone who took a carrier from Venice in summer ... besides San Marco Square is right in front of you)
The reception, the porter, the restaurant, the housekeeping, their service make me feel warm! Location is perfect, traffic is very convenient, if I have another chance to come back Venice I will choose here again.
Real 5 stars feelings. Best terrace with water view in a city . Definitely to visit again place. P S . Jazz nights is outstanding. Must participate event if you in Venice
The main hotel was beautiful and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The only issue we had was not to mix Bauer Palazzo with the Bauer Casa Nova. We found out that these rooms were actually in a separate, small building next door and not quite as nice as the ones advertised/ photographed. We and some other guests we met found this rather disappointing
HOTEL BAUER
If you go west on Sarita San Moise Street, you will reach the San Moise River, but the hotel is in front of it. It is a formal hotel
I just came for a concert but it was a wonderful evening. Staff was very professional and the singer Jasmine Ashley Terrell was fabulous!
Haven't stayed there but listened to an excellent jazz concert at the bar.
Exceptional hotel but do not take into account the requests of the reservation
one of you wanted me to hack into the Google Account
Great hotel very clean. Room is a little out dated. Bathrooms on my room are gorgeous. Breakfast is good
Extremely central to most of Venice's main attractions, and warm and welcoming staff.
Bauer Hotal Jazz Bar charges 9 Euro entry it says, suggests drink included then charged 10 Euro's for a 250cl Peroni 7 Euro's for a coffee and the 9 Euro's per person on top so 18 Euro's for 2 people for the music .. total 35 Euro's ....
Very nice staff, perfectly clean rooms and amazing breakfast. We will be back and will hopefully be able to stay in this lovely hotel and sip a spritz on the most beautiful roof top bar in Venice.
It was a unique experience to stay here.
Service, location and the wonderful suite - everything fits together here.
Wonderfully located. Very nice breakfast. Nice restaurant. Excellent rooms, even at Bauer Casanova.
Phenomenal blues and swing music. Really enjoyed dancing there!
Great location, great terrace. We stayed in December. They closed the spa and fitness without telling on their site. Would charge us for accessing a mini replacement fitness room! not great service given the rate we took (suite). disappointing given our willingness to come back in season.
The hotel is great. Both the location, the cleanliness and the size of the rooms are excellent. I especially like to mention the friendliness and attention of the staff. The breakfast is fantastic despite Corona. And the terrace is spectacular. You get everything you want, even special requests, like vegan breakfast. The cook can come up with something extra. Great.
Everyone tries very hard and that made our vacation a special experience.
I came to listen to a Jazz concert here. The concert was of good quality and the room had a rather intimate atmosphere. Beware it is not free: you must consume and the price of consumption pays the price of a concert ticket.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and a gem in venice
Beautiful and well maintained to very high standard. Less than 5 minutes walk to St Marco Square and host of other nearby shopping experience and attractions. Complementary private boat trips to Murano and Burano Islands. Very expensive hotel but great value for money.
Very great hotel, with a wonderful panorama and a very nice breakfast terrace! very good service
A luxurious hotel very well located to visit the city. The restaurant is excellent.
Rooms have awsomen views really clean .. amazing bathtubs
Customer service in the lobby is polite and helps out even in high tide season.. beware of hide tides younmay find yourself with no electricity
Everything excellent The service, the views, the rooms. Worth.
What a wonderful hotel. First of all check in was very helpful and polite. Our room was not ready but we were very early, they rang us when it was ready and we were also Upgraded.
Front desk staff escorted us to our room.
We have wanted to stay here for many years and it s very nice to be here now.
Great stay, very good location, great breakfast even in coronavirus times, wonderful restaurant terrace on the canal grande, stylish ambience and very courteous reception. Depending on the category, the room could be modernized, but very stylish, great bathroom. Great roof terrace for sundowners but not cheap drinks. Trip to murano organized by the hotel was very interesting. Full recommendation!
A great mix of classic and modern two PS from San Marco Square.
Location fantastic. Room getting old. Breakfast very good - a sensation for Italian standards.
