Very good concert & acoustics were great, the chairs were terrible.

Very good concert & acoustics were great, the chairs were terrible.
Hard to find at first with all of the construction. Getting tickets ugh could be better. The seats are ok i guess. Just really cool to see whos playing
A wonderful and intimate venue for concerts. We have been many times, and always receive excellent service
Amazing venue with a great staff! Very friendly and very helpful. They're remodeling the place a bit, so it'll look even better soon. Highly recommended.
Terrific local and international acts in an intimate listening room. Such a treasure to have in Ann Arbor!
A great space for intimate concerts, and they get really talented musicians. The seating is cushioned chairs lined around the rooms, and most tickets are general admission, so be prepared to line up outside at least 30 minutes before the doors open. They recently added wooden bars that are great for when you get a drink for the concert. They also sell popcorn.
Has totally spoiled my music
listening experience anywhere else!
An Ann Arbor staple. National acts, local intimacy. Great feel.
No wonder all the best musicians make it a point to stop and play here!
The Ark is a treasure. We love to come here and enjoy the music. Never a bad time.
Excellent small town venue. Great for local artists and those traveling through.
Such an interesting building! The main room was great, and my partner and I were impressed by the soundproof quality of the doors. The workers are genuine and pleasant. My one complaint: There aren't trash cans in the stalls of the female restrooms... Awkward.
Love the Ark, especially when my son and band, Frontier Ruckus play there. Great sound and audience that appreciate great music
The Ark is an amazing venue. The artists who often the always put on a good show.
Great venue with friendly staff. Beautiful and clean and the dressing rooms have a lot of character
Great place to see any show!! Not a bad seat in the house.
The sound was top notch, some of the best I've heard.
They make you wait in line before the show. Most of the venue was reserved for a private party, so it was hard to figure out which good seats were still available. You also have to be a member to buy alcohol, which costs $5 for a few months, or $20 for the year. Otherwise snack and drink prices are very reasonable.
Not going to spoil anything. If you're new to A2, you just have to go to at least one performance! Definitely recommend coming to see Darlingside when they stop by!
Small venue for great sound. Always a good experience.
We saw The Tarten Terrors. It was fantastic! Seats could have been more comfortable.
Great music, great sound. It's a really nice place to go with friends and listen good live music. Musicians love it too.
Oldest, continually running, nonprofit music venue in the country. Great fundraiser at Hill Auditorium where 3,400 fans sample music varieties on the last Friday and Saturday nights in January. Folk, roots, some jazz, local, and internationally renowned artists.
Amazing Venue!! Great performers!! Great friendly staff.
I love live music, especially in smaller venues. The Ark is wonderful with great acts coming through more than 300 nights each year.
Fantastic venue with great sound! Very intimate seating. Drinks were reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you are in the area!
Went to see David Bromberg tonight. The Ark is always amazing and now they're renovating since they just paid the mortgage off and have the cash to do so. Fully fully fully recommended
The performance was great. Organization of the venue was... well... they tried hard.
Go. Go. Go. I've seen amazing shows, & good shows but I've never once been disappointed here. Very intimate sized venue. Seems like every night there, an audience member says something out loud during the performance... & the performer hears them & responds! I love the easy, comfortable exchange. Live music almost every night of the year, all well performed & enjoyable, so all you really have to do is pick a genre you enjoy to find a great show.
Such a different atmosphere for listening to music! Very intimate with wonderful sound quality!!
Great venue to hear music. People come to listen, not talk with friends, like a typical bar setting.
A concert almost everyday of the year! Great volunteer staff. Not a badseat in the house.
Love The Ark. It is an amazing venue. Small, intimate, and we'll staffed
Intimate venue. General admission is great if you want to get good seats. I wish they'd have the vocals a little louder.
Paid $36 for a comedy show, which is on the high end of reasonable, but ok. Was shaken down for an additional fee for the privilege of overpaying for a warm beer and $4 "mocha" which was just burnt drip coffee with lumpy cocoa packet mix floating on the top. Before the show we had to sit through a guilt trip about how we should donate money. Proceeded to sit through a show with a pillar obscuring half the stage. Acoustics were okay.
Great small venue. Attended the meet and greet and Morgan James was a doll.
The seating situation was weird for premium paid tickets you could not sit on the first two rows. Since there were only about 20 people at the meet and greet that was weird. Plus they waited until we were all seated to make us move. Might want to share that when purchasing tickets.
Must be a member to purchase alcohol. No frills seating in banquet chairs. Comfortable. Don't buy popcorn.
Top notch acts and an intimate venue makes every show unforgettable!
Not a bad seat in the house. Very pleasant venue to see a concert if you can get a ticket. Popular bands sell out fast because this place can't hold many more than 1000 people.
Fabulous music by Jim Bizer and Jan Krist at The Ark! The Ark is one of the best venues I go to for listening to music. It's the perfect size for a concert. The acoustics are great. When you join The Ark as a member you help keep this gem going strong. Love The Ark!
Just charge more for your drinks rather than having everyone wait 15 minutes in line to get a membership
This place is a gem. It is the best music venue in southeast Michigan.
Best place for a concert. Small intimate listening room, makes you a part of the show.
Probably the best folk music venue in the United States
Saw Tom Rush here, my girlfriend and her father got to speak with him and get his autograph. Not a huge venue, but a historic one and very intimate.
Great sound stage. We saw Dave Alvin here and it was excellent. It's sort of a non-profit place as all of the staff are volunteers. This makes tickets cheap but it's still somewhat exclusive due to it's small size.
It's clean, nice, with a small concession stand that serves beer/wine.
I enjoyed it and I'll go back.
I saw the Earls of Leicester there! Incredible show!
We are losing venues and I am so glad this one still stands!! Great artists all the time. Wonderful place!
My first concert attendance at The Ark. It was wonderful!
Small, intimate venue for a wonderful concert experience
The best venue in north America! What a wonderful house.
Nationally renowned venue, cozy yet top notch, great range of acts.
Always a great experience catching some of the best live shows!
Nice venue to hear music. Don't like the cumbersome way they sell alcohol, though.
Makes for a tremendous amount of avoidable inconvenience.
Excellent entertainment in a personal close up setting.
Up close amd personal with the acts. Love the space.
Like having your own private jam session in your basement - an experience to remember.
Great venue for a small audience. Sound in there is great. Always a good time at the Ark.
As a newbie to visiting Ann Arbor, I think this place is an absolute gem. The staff consists of mostly volunteers and is helpful and friendly. It is an intimate setting which makes a concert or a show experience very different, in a positive way! Solid drink menu with reasonable prices. You do have to be a member to purchase drinks, or be a guest of a member.
Excellent, intimate venue with superb sound equipment.
Intimate Venue with great sound
I love the Ark. It is a community treasure that features both local and national music (sometimes both, like the Jeremy Kittel Band, who I saw last weekend).
Reserved seating usually costs only a few dollars more than the general admission tickets, but there's not a bad seat in the house.
This place is a mecca for folk and roots music performers. I have long since lost count of the number of people who have have stood on the stage and said some variation of, "I've always dreamed of playing here!"
