The Amber Inn Review

This is the worst hotel/motel i have ever stayed in. Doors are shaky and hard to open. Bathroom door doesnt lock, strange stains on walls and ceilings. Also smells like cigarrettes with ciggarrette burns in the bedding. Lastly some animal poop was found in the room, rooms were messy and the area was very scetchy, I did not feel safe because someone got arrested. Had to leave and was glad

Great location but rooms need to be updated and or deep cleaned. Only stayed there because my 2 favorite hotels I stay in when I visit Chicago where booked up. And this hotel was closet to the area I had to take care of business in.

Nice place only thing is they don't give you extra pillows if you ask

I HAVE NEVER STAYED THERE BUT THIS HOTEL WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT WOULD TAKE THE HOMELESS IN DURING THE VOTEX I THINK THAT THE PEOPLE WHO NEEDED A PLACE TO STAY DIDNT MIND WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE AS LONG AS IT WAS WARM, AND HAD A SHOWER...KUDOS TO THEM

First day was rough after flying from England! But price was fair rooms were nice staff were friendly. Really nice to be so close to the city! I walked to down town in about 30mins or there is busses. Good bang for your buck!

The hotel need to be up graded. To expensive to not look nice.

While not in the flashiest part of Chicago, this hotel is located conveniently close to transit, which allows for a quick trip into the city, or even to any conferences at McCormick Place (which was why I was in town). Though there are a few colourful guests and others around the place, none were really threatening and the staff was extremely pleasant. The room I had was very large and was nice enough for what I needed. There was outside noise a bit, but the air conditioner (which was something other hotels didn't have) helped keep me cool and drown out the occasional sounds. All in all, I'm happy with my stay here.

Im one of 60+ people whom they helped. I met the hotel manager on the second day of the polar vortex and she told me about what they were doing. Not only did they give rooms, but they also had people from different programs to help people like me with anything from finding permanent housing to getting a state ID. They also made sure we had food, clothes, and hygiene supplies. Everyone that works here was extremely friendly and helpful even with all the extra tenants they had, they made sure everyone was comfortable while they worked through the extreme cold. I can't thank them and everyone who partook in all this generosity. With all the bad press Chicago gets, there still is plenty of people with huge hearts.

- Too Expensive To Look The Way The Rms Looks , Extra Small Trash Can In Rm , Beds Are Way Too Close To Each Other , Outlets That DONT WORK , Bathrm Was The Only Decent Thinq In There Because Thats Where You Have To Charqe Your Phone..

Very affordable nightly rates for Chicago. Comfortable bed as well.

It was alright. The small check in booth made it feel shady to me.

DO NOT EVER BOOK HERE. Walking in, the people were not friendly at all. Going up he the first room we went to, there was hair in the dirty sheets, stains in the toilet, hair in the bathtub, hair in the sink, and trash in the bathroom. After calling the front desk, we changed rooms. The second one was a little bit better. When leaving the next morning, all you could smell was weed. Very trash hotel. Will never stay here again. It is not worth the money that we paid for a "suite." If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Convenient, but they could do better with cleaning for the prices. They have smoking and non smoking rooms so that's ok. Located next to a restaurant so that's good.

The room was nasty dirty and smelly,there was a group of young kids fighting in the room next to us,no phones in the room,I asked to use an iron the worker got an attitude and the room was over priced $80 for that...never again.
The 1 star is for the pictures online.

Place could have been better if the phone was working an electrical sockets were not working the television also did not work as well did request for extra towels they did not want to give any more towels and look like it has been through a lot of neglect

The room is spacious, clean and with everything you need to be comfortable, has parking and is very close to the train station, very friendly staff

Be careful you don't get mugged. Bad part of town. Mind ya business and you'll live. The rooms are good for 1 night.

This hotel isn't located in a very good part of town... But if you get an Uber or cab right to the door, things should be fine. Large room size. Mini fridge and microwave. Air conditioning unit works well. Clean rooms. Bathrooms outdated, but clean. Overall, you get what you pay for.. But for a cheaper hotel, this one isn't bad at all.

I love the Amber Inn this place is nicer than my old apartment, hope to come back again.

Was in town me and My husband stay here the room needs update the carpet is really dirty also went we asked for clean towles the lady that the front desk was upset and very rude and made us take the towels to the laundry room and the phone doesn't work someone rip the phone cord out the wall also its alot of traffic and alot of people hanging out in the parking lot at night I'm giving this hotel Zero star cause the room need alot of work and the workers are very unprofessional and the carpet shouldn't look like it do we stayed two nights otherwise the hotel was okay and our lock didnt no chain otherwise I will make this hotel my last opinion just need a 2000's update on the rooms and workers

It was a cool experience 4 me and my husband, we stayed here for the 4th and it was cool quiet the employees were kind and respectful would definitely visit again

I enjoyed my stay at Amber Inn. I plan to return soon for another RR with THE LORD. I have no complaints. My stay was quite comfortable and for this to be a southside hotel i applaud the owners on the comfortably. A lady named Martha which checked me in and out at the front desk was very professional friendly and very informative so my stay was wonderful! "Thanks to the Amber Inn"

Would like to give this place 0 stars. This is a drug dealers haven. Went out to the balcony to get some fresh air and literally witnessed 4 drug deals. In 2 minutes. I checked out immediately. I requested a refund for the days I wouldn't be using, and was told I had to speak to the manager. When I finally found her she was rude, and unprofessional. After several calls I finally got my refund minus the tax. Stay away from this place!

This is a common place for me to enjoy...its only down the street from my apartment and i can take my client's there and have a good time.

Excellent value. The staff is courteous and respectful. Mariano's Grocery is 0.4 miles away. Hotel and xfinity wifi are both at this location. If one is not a fan of the 'big-corporate tourism' experience and going to concerts... this is an awesome location.

What a wonderful way to be part of the solution for those needing a place to get out of the record-breaking cold and those trying to find a place that would accept them! High praise for the ones paying for the rooms of course, and high praise to The Amber Inn for welcoming those in need (and maybe saving a life or two or 20 or more in the process)! I will talk up this establishment every chance I get!

I loved my stay at the Amber Inn! It was closed in a court-yard like area that made me feel safe.

Honestly a weird place. Half of the rooms connect to outside but there's a indoor regular hotel area with a hallway straight out of the shinning. That being said the 2 bed rooms are very spacious. We stayed for 4 days and everytime we came back there was fresh towels and a clean smell. The room service lady was very sweet and they didn't steal our stuff. The restaurant next to it is called Pearl's place and they had soul food. It was decent.

They gave me the wrong key card twice and I had to use the bathroom On Top Of That The Man Kicked My Food And Pop Off The balcony

Rooms cold freezing, beds lumpy,and the security guards are so disrespectful to the females guests, they in to close it down or get new management
