Really great atmosphere. The room is open yet not too loud. The lighting is relaxing, and the staff were friendly and professional.

The food is easily shareable or eaten separately depending on your mood. The flank steak and the cauliflower were specifically excellent.

Nothing was bad and there are choices for all moods including a wonderful Mac and cheese if you are in need of comfort food.

Hip, fun place with good drinks and food. Lively scene with a good crowd and no attitude from the staff. There's a large open area with a center bar and seating on the main floor and a more intimate lounge-like area downstairs...with a bowling alley off to the side and pool table. Fun place to spend a night in town.

You'll miss it if you don't know where it is. The plaque is on the wall so it's easy to pass by.

Once you're inside you quickly forget you're only minutes away from center City.

It's design and decor are unique and comfortable. The food equal to it's surroundings.

Great spot for large parties and equally great for a intimate date.

Ask for Jorje to serve you.

The food was great, but it is so dark and so loud in here, I went with a large group and it made it hard to enjoy the experience since it was very hard to have a conversation being unable to hear or see anything. I think it would be much better for a smaller group.

I don't even know where to start with this place! The food, the service, the ambiance- nothing short of amazing! I recommend making a reservation (which we did) and we got seated right away. Our server Corey (spelling?) was fantastic. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, gave recommendations, and answered all of our questions. We did the chefs tasting menu which was more than worth it. We picked some of the courses and let the Chef pick some as well. The burrata and spicy pizza were two of my favorites. Great cocktails as well. We popped in downstairs to see the speakeasy and I hope to get back there to have a drink down there as well. There are even 2 bowling lanes down there! I will definitely be back!

Was at a private party, loved the underground speakeasy vibe. Phenomenal food and drinks.
Order the Meridian Peak, if you order at the bar directly you can watch them torch your rosemary. Delicious with an ooh aah factor.

Visiting from NY my boyfriend chose this location ...

Visiting from NY my boyfriend chose this location for my birthday and let me tell you it was by far the best meal we have ever had together after the plethora of restaurants we have tried over the last year . We arrived a little early and our table wasn t ready yet so we sat at the bar and ordered 2 drinks . After about 15 minutes we were seated in a beautiful room where it feels as though you are in a green house / rustic English sunroom with hanging ferns accompanied by candle light ambience. Our waitress was fantastic! She asked us if we had been there before and since the answer was no explained to us that the menu is seasonal as they like to use the freshest food possible! We decided to do the chefs 7 course tasting and at $45 per person ( with a slight add on if you choose the steak for two dish which we did ) we got the following selection which was so delicious we are upset we had no room in our hotel to keep the leftovers! There was enough food for 4 people! To start we had the burratta , the charcuterie board , lamb meatballs, fussili pasta, fig pizza , aged in house ribeye with onions , purple potatoes with sour cream , turnips and chocolate cake with caramel! It came out one after the other and everything tasted extremely fresh and the flavors were outstanding. We really hope to come back . Ps if you are considering going here the food portions for the tasting menu are full size as the normal dish is not smaller than normal.

I went here for restaurant week. We had 7 items on the menu. It was a good meal with some amazing dishes. I did not get to try a lot of the meat dishes because I was with a vegetarian but I'd highly recommend the restaurant regardless.

1. H&C Salad (4/5) - good combination of red lettuce some sort of squash and pear. It could have done well with a little extra dressing but that maybe personal preference.

2. Hamachi (4.5/5) - This was an refreshing dish with avocados sauce, lemons, and grapefruit on yellowtail. The dish is rather acidic but quite tasty. I'd recommend it.

3. Prawns (5/5) - We received two perfectly cooked and seasoned prawns. The prawns were served on a bed of hummus and topped with spicy chiles among other things. This dish was great.

4. Margarita Pizza (3/5) - This pizza was alright. I understand that serving many pizzas during restaurant week at a place that offers numerous other dishes is challenging. But this pizza was very greasy and lacked the distinct basil flavor of margarita pizza. There was too much tomato sauce but not enough tomatoes - if that makes sense.

5. Gnocchi (2/5) - This was the most disappointing dish. The sauce lacked depth and flavor. The gnocchi was over cooked and dry in the middle. I would suggest a different pasta.

6. Scallops (5/5) - the scallops were fantastic. They were perfectly browned on both sides. Inside they were very soft and flavorful. There was also what looked like a beet sauce underneath which worked very well with the dish.

7. Brussels Sprouts (5/5) - spicy and a little sweet, brown and crispy. This is a must order. It was a great way to finish our meal.

For dessert we had the chocolate cake, it's a big piece but well worth it. The ice cream is great, the cake is great, the caramel that come with it is great.

Overall it was a pretty good experience. I understand that restaurant week is busy so a restaurant has to make certain adjustments to serve everyone. While there were some dishes that could have been better it was a great experience. The atmosphere is great and I'd definitely like to come back.

The food was fantastic, and I have severe allergies they accommodated. This is why they get the extra star.

However, we were a group of 18, and when we wanted to split the cheque at the end, we were told no. We were told that they could only split the cheque 4 ways. However, we are all on a business trip and require submitting itemized individual cheques to our own accounting departments. When we explained this to the server and manager, we were told that we should have mentioned it up front.

In my experience, no restaurant has ever had an issue splitting a cheque multiple ways before. However, we were told that our server didn't take individual orders and that because we didn't mention this up front (the burden on the patrons and not the restaurant?) the max they could do was 9 bills. Having worked in food service for 6 years I know the manager could have re-rung our food through, however he claimed doing this would disrupt the experience of the other diners. We had a $600 bill. It could have been done.

I ended up paying $15 more than I would have if I had only had to pay for my food, and now will not be able to be reimbursed by my work. If you are a group of more than 4 DO NOT eat here. It wasn't worth the 20 minute hassle and rude mannerisms of the manager and server.

Really good brunch buffet! It s a little tough because there s so much food to choose from, but nice that you get a little bit of everything that you re craving. We sat in the front room where it was nice and sunny, but closer to the buffet the main dining hall was pretty dark. Food was good, just be prepared to wait if you want an omelette/eggs.

Solely going off of my restaurant week experience - the best Philly restaurant week meal I've ever had! You get 8 dishes (I went with 1 other person and you pick for the table - you choose plates for every 2 people)

Go for:
- Crab noodles - don't remember exactly what the noodles were made out of (see photo) but they had such a unique texture
- Cauliflower - they give you a whole head of grilled cauliflower which is an experience I haven't had elsewhere

Skip the:
- pizza - it didn't taste bad but it didn't stand out

Tips:
- go for restaurant week! suchhhh a good deal
- go with a larger group to have more options for the table

We ordered the Tomato porcini salad, Mushroom avocado toast, Lamb meatballs, Gnocchi, Sopressetta honey and provolone pizza, Steak and sweet potatoes. All of the food was AMAZING. The vibe is awesome. Antique-y decor with extremely high vault ceilings. Excellent drink menu - highly recommend the Ruby Slippers. The best part about the whole experience was our waiter who helped us decide on every options and was extremely attentive throughout the entire meal. 10/10 I discovered a new favorite in Philadelphia thanks to Seated.

From the moment of walking in, our time here was nothing less then a phenomanal experience from the host to the our server. One of our guest of our party of four is a vegan and they had options for her. The chef had a great way of presenting the dishes and the drinks we're very well made. Great time!!!

A group of friends and I came here for dinner last...

A group of friends and I came here for dinner last week during restaurant week to celebrate a birthday. First of all, be warned, your courses need to be decided upon collectively! The restaurant week menu online did not specify this. The food and drinks were wonderful, and the courses were enough food for our party of five to share, hence the two stars. That is where my compliments end. The service was nightmarish. Our server, Marisol, was absolutely terrible. She was the least friendly server I've met in my life. Not once did she smile or ask how we or our food were. She made a stink when one member of our party was running behind, curtly asking, "Is she coming soon or....?" When dessert was en route, a few of us ordered coffee and were quickly reprimanded, "You know coffee's not included in restaurant week, right?" She also gave us a hassle about splitting our bill, audibly worrying that she wouldn't be able to "see her tip" that way. I don't know why she was so worried about her tip, she didn't seem too worried when providing her shoddy customer service! All in all, the food was delicious, but if your server is named Marisol, I highly recommend asking to be switched.

It was okay. To have made a reservation and be sat in the little alcove area and not the main part of the restaurant was really disappointing. It was like being offered to eat on the porch. The lamb meatballs were fantastic, the banana cake for dessert amazing, the pizza was pretty but not particularly flavorful. Our server was decent. Not tge most diverse staff, and very noyiceable that staff of color or with darker skin were the ones bringing food/behind the scenes, and not wait staff or hosting. With vintage decor and an old school feel being mindful of creating staff dynamic reminiscent of the 1920's-1940's matters. I am in no rush to return to Harp and Crown.

Amazing food and atmosphere! The staff is very attentive and helpful. The space is really well decorated and it's not only excellent spending time there for the food but also to enjoy the space. Definitely recommend for a small friend brunch or a party with friends! Reservations recommended but there is some limited couch seating for walk-ins.

A delight to the eyes and palate!

A delight to the eyes and palate!

To begin, this place is deep into Rittenhouse so parking is scarce. I ended up parking past Lombard and walking the blocks just to avoid having to circle around. I would say to plan ahead for street parking if you have a reservation or bite the bullet and pay for a lot/garage nearby.

This place transports you to a different time. It has a 1920s feel, and aspects of a speakeasy (including a hidden bowling alley!) There are throwback elements of yesteryear with black and white TVs at the bar, white Parisian floors at the entrance, heavy curtains separating the space into different areas, all under smooth jazz and low lighting.

We had come around 5:30pm for Happy Hour (4-7pm on weeknights) and I was happy to find the place wasn't too busy yet. We sat downstairs - Elbow Lane, where to our surprise was a small bowling alley! How fun and completely unexpected! They serve HH in the downstairs dining space and not just at the bar which, again, was much to our pleasure.

Their happy hour menu is limited, but still had decent choices to choose from (3 different drink selections, and about 6 food items.)

We started by ordering our drinks from the regular menu. I got the Meridian Peak made with tequila and a helping of chili swirled in - so good!

I ordered the House ricotta as a starter and the pizza Rosa for my meal from the happy hour menu. The food was good and made well, though not all that original.

Our service was great, the waiter knew the menu well and was great in helping to decide on our cocktails!

I would definitely come back for another experience and some bowling. There's a ton of seating both upstairs and downstairs so it could work for a date night or a large group.

This is just a peek at the sumptuous interior of Harp and Crown. It never ceases to amaze me how you were in Philly when you opened the door and stepped in, but once inside you find yourself transported to another place and era. I absolutely love the food, drink, atmosphere and decor. Seriously check H & C out for yourself and see if I'm right.

Great experience! Food and ambiance were excellent. What would have brought it to 5 stars would be if the servers could actually remember who ordered what. We had a party of 10. Every time a food runner would come out we had to play the game of who ordered what.

Went for brunch with friends, brunch is fantastic, the food is really good. Though if you are vegetarian, might not be the place for you, my sister was not happy with the selection. Also, if you are on a diet you'd probably have to take this a cheat day, not cheat meal. Staff was great, except front of house manager - he was very unpleasant. Still giving five stars, but seriously considered giving 2 based on our encounter with him.

This is a rather fancy bar/restaurant. I read in the description that it had a bowling alley, so thought it would be pretty casual. The hostess was rather dismissive and rude to me, likely because I was not appropriately dressed for the occasion. I was about to walk out, but the manager rushed in and saved the day. From that point on, the service, food and drinks were great. One thing to note: this place has tapas and family style dishes, and nothing in between. So not the best spot for dinner unless you have a party of two or more.

DONT GO FOR RESTAURANT WEEK. The portions are small the way their menu set up is different from the standard so essentially you share 6 dishes between x amount of people versus what I'm used to where i pick one from either three or four courses and the other person chooses one that can be different from the amount of courses offered. the risotto was wet the food came cold and so did the pasta. The risotto was supposed to be mushroom risotto and the mushrooms were placed on top i was expecting the mushrooms to be dispersed within it so the favor could be maximized. liked the sauce for the octopus the octopus itself was over cooked which made it chewy. dressing on the salad was a spicy so it added heat. it came with scare amounts of avocado AND ITS SUPPOSEDLY AN AVOCADO SALAD. beef tartare was meh. wish it were bigger pieces. scallops lacked flavor. it wasn't worth ~100 dollars.

Unique and interesting decor inside, throws you back a few decades. It's a bit loud inside and service can be hit or miss. Food overall was good. Some dishes like the pizza were good but things like the cheese platter disappointed. Cocktails are pretty good and recommend going here for a drink and a quick bite.

Food was good service was good , Michael our waiter was very good. I understand this place was part of a new style of restaurants. Seating was different and kind of packed in. We were seated at a six seat table with people we didn't know. It was ok and they ignored us. Were used to the family style seating from a favorite back home , we call that place ,animal House.

Went here in the wee hours of Sun 12/15 while out with friends for the holidays. We were in the crowded bar for all of an hour and in that time someone went into my zipped purse pocket that I was holding close to me and stole my brand new $1000 pixel3 phone and immediately disabled my GPS location sharing and powered off my phone. I got pick-pocketed, and by someone really good----fine.
What makes me upset is when we told the hostess and later their security guard -- no one seemed to care and blew us off with a "nope sorry, no phones here" response, no concern that theft of their patrons is occurring at their establishment and didn't even ask what it looked like it or where we were seated... or what our info was if it was found!! My husband had to say don't you want our info in case it's recovered or you review CCTV ...and then it was "oh yeah I guess sure"
Something is fishy there and I WON'T be coming back

Been here for dinner and most recently for sips. The sips menu was great value for money overall, but the empanadas were an outrageous ripoff. For $3 you get 3 very small pieces that taste like something you d buy frozen and microwave. For $5 you can get a generous portion of Mac & Cheese that is delicious and satisfying.
For dinner, the cauliflower and pizzas are clear standouts. The ambiance is very romantic yet fun. Stick with the basics and favorites and you can t go wrong. Meatballs are worth a taste too.
Head downstairs for a speakeasy style bar with a bowling alley.
Great for dates, groups and just a quick and tasty meal.

We had a great experience. From the decor, and the feel in the restaurant. Our waiter Alex delightful and definetly added to our great experience. The food was all very tasty, the dessert and drinks as well. Only hiccup was one of the entrees took a lot longer to come out than the others. Granted the family style is their thing but with entrees, especially when ordered individually feels like it should come out the same time or at the very least minutes apart. Regardless, would absolutely come again and recommend this place to others.

It's too affected/curated and it ruins the dining experience.

Cons:
The security detail they have for this restaurant is ridiculous. They chose form over function.

Do not have dinner at the two-top tables along the banquettes. This is the worst idea I have ever come across in a restaurant setting. The tiny, non-adjustable TV Dinner tables are useless unless you are having one round of drinks. It is really uncomfortable. The seats are deep and the back cushions too thick and springy. You are seated with your dining partner side-by-side, forced to keep your head turned one way for most of the meal if you want to have a conversation. I am 5/10 and my feet could not touch the ground, making it difficult to adjust your sitting position while trying to gain a comfortable angle to eat your food. Add to that, if someone is seated at the next TV Dinner table, you will be rubbing thighs with them, as they are trying to adjust to a comfortable position, too. It ruined the whole dining experience.

The bowling alley area downstairs is a cool space but at $100 an hour, not sure if anyone will play much. The leather club chairs along the one wall are so low that you are squatting the whole time you are trying to enjoy your cocktail. The server taking your drink order also has to bend over, bending her knees to take your order.

The restaurant cared more about the decor and atmosphere than they care about the comfort of their patrons.

Pros:
Great service. Everyone takes their job seriously and service is attentive.

Good food: although I thought my papparedelle was good, it needed a bit more salt and then it would have been great. Halibut was a winner and seasoning on point. Mushroom Farro and burratta also good.

Good cocktails.

On a side note, there was a "service" dog sitting *at* the table with his owner. Not on the floor. The owner was sticking his two fingers into a container of food, and then letting the dog lick it off his fingers. It was a turn off for me.
