The juciest most tender and flavorful fall-of-the-bone meat I've ever had. I have 7 solid years of fine dining exposure based on The Ritz-Carlton standards... This meat is top quality. The presentation is casual but the experience will blow your palate! The Brisket is my favorite and the pork ribs are second best.

In my top tier of BBQ places in Austin. Been here 6-8 times. Consistently good brisket. Get the small family pack if you have a group of 4+. You can also mix sides into a single container (they told me) which makes it good if you just want a taste of several. Line is usually decent during lunch hours except on the weekends.

Terry Black's lives up to the reputation! The Beef ribs, the sausage, the brisket were terrific as expected. The real sleeper was the pork ribs. Make sure you grab at least a couple to try.

The Mac and cheese though...!!! I will admit, I may or may not love this place for the sides :P . My first visit here ended up with a very disappointed super super salty lean brisket. I'm not one to shy away from salt especially on a hot day, but that I wasn't able to finish..Or really have more than 3 bites. Moving on, their lean brisket every now and then still is too salty, but when it's a good day it's 10/10. I also tried the regular sausage that I liked.

Every time I'm in Austin, this is my favorite place to get BBQ. I've never seen big lines at this place, which is what I tend to avoid, but there's always people here. The BBQ is amazing! Some of the best brisket I've tried in Austin. So is the sauce. Highly recommend.

I had the brisket sandwich with a mac-n-cheese side. The sandwich was huge. Very moist, pretty lean, and very tasty. Nothing special about the mac-n-cheese, good but nothing to write home about.

Surprisingly quiet. We ate at 8 PM on a Thursday, so not too crowded. That might have been part of it. With lots of people, it could be noisy.

Counter service was a bit confusing. I was told I could substitute a beer for the drink on a combo plate. Well, sorta: you get a dollar off the beer.

The Brisket was nothing short of excellent. The spicy sausage was on point. And the sides didn t disappoint either. My favorite side is probably the creamed corn. The parking situation isn t ideal, but if you circle around a few times, the guests are rotating through quickly enough that a spot will open up on a busy evening and is definitely worth the hassle. Definitely plan on coming back next trip to Austin.

*Side note: I used a plastic for to cut through my brisket. That's how tender the meat is. A big shout out to the chef and friendly staff! Thank you all for a wonderful Texas BBQ experience!

I think we're one of the most crazy family, that we drove 170 miles to eat BBQ here. It was an amazing experience. Food was great. I spoke one of the floor manager he was nice. Don't know when but we will come back when ever we go crazy for BBQ.

Loved sampling everything! Came here for lunch on a Thursday and the line wasn t too long (maybe 5 people ahead of me). I am not too much of a meat eater but the brisket was delicious (I got two slices). My whole meal came out around $16. There is lots of outdoor and indoor seating.

My favorite side was definitely the Mac n Cheese- it was creamy and didn t taste too heavy.

The beef ribs are the best I've ever had. Excellent pork spare ribs. Outstanding brisket. Order "moist". The best smoked turkey I've ever had. My wife loves the cole slaw. I eat way too much Mac and cheese, of course. We often get carry-out. I spend $160 and have enough food for four people, with leftovers for another 8 meals! That makes the cost so reasonable, at about $13.25 per meal. I can't cook for that price. That includes onions, pickles and a couple of loaves of white sandwich bread. And they provide a couple of containers of barbeque sauce! Remember to ask for it.

Let me tell you... us Texans don t play about our BBQ. I came from Houston to check this place out and it does not disappoint. We got here right when it opened and not even kidding the line was out of the door 10 minutes later. That s crazy! Please do yourself a solid and get the brisket, ribs, and their cornbread!!

Terry Black's has officially become our favorite BBQ place in Austin. We came on a Saturday around 6:15pm and the line was pretty long and we did not think it moved as fast as at other bbq joints. But the wait was totally worth it! We tried the pork ribs, moist brisket and turkey. For sides we had Mac and cheese, green beans and potatoes. We also tried their banana pudding desert. Everything was exceptional. Would definitely want to come back and try their sausage and the beef ribs (the beef ribs are huge and over a pound so we need a separate trip for that!). They have Terry Black's bbq parking only which seems to be permanently full but we were able to get a spot. And as an added bonus, as we walked out we got to see what is actually happening behind the scenes! The smokers are incredible!!!

This place is really good, food was outstanding. I'm a BBQ snob and I give this a 5 Star. The brisket and Fred Flinstone Beef Rib are to die for.

Only drawback is you pick up your sides before the meat, sometimes slow customers can't figure out what to get so it takes a few minutes.

Best BBQ I've had in my life so far. Now I haven't had Franklin's (yet), but I've had Snows. The brisket was a dance party in your mouth, but the beef rib is probably the closest to having sex with a super model any of us will get to experience.

Moist brisket was fall-apart tender, good taste, thick sliced, some of the thick fat could be trimmed. Turkey was tender and moist, but didn't taste smokey enough. Good cream corn - sweet enough for desert - mac and cheese was okay, nothing special.

Everything here is delicious. I would recommend going during non-peak hours, however, if there is a wait, don't run away. It's worth it. The sides are good, but the proteins are the stand outs here. The beef rib and pork ribs are my favorites.

You can also get frozen sausage to go to enjoy later, sans the wait.
