Y all could do a better job telling your paying customers how long it will take to get on the water during peak hours. I paid for an hour and spent 20 minutes waiting to get a board. Atleast inform us before we pay so we know the time constraints. I feel like my $20 for the hour wasn t fair. Needs a communication upgrade!

The rates are reasonable. Its a whole lot of fun. Just dont stay in the water too long. Lots of bat guano and other general stuff that is detrimental to one's health floating around

FYI the last rentals are available 1 hour prior to sunset.

This is a great place to rent kayaks or stand-up paddleboards to go rowing on Town Lake. If you go during the weekdays (M-Th), it's a little less expensive than the weekends. They do let you store your things with them, so no need to leave everything at home.

Went kayaking. Staff was pretty quick with the formalities and procedures. Provided with a small box to store belongings with no additional cost.

Great prices for such a prominent spot and activity in Austin. This is my go to place for all water activity rentals!

Love this place. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and great equipment! I went paddle boarding for the first time here, and the staff gave me an efficient tutorial and got me out on the water in no time! Definitely a local gem.

Kinda pricey, but it's my preferred kayak rental place. I'd go more if it was cheaper.

I really enjoyed renting a kayak from Texas Rowing Center, and their location is super convenient regardless of whether you're parking or walking from nearby. I only took one star because they didn't seem to be taking sanitation very seriously. I didn't notice any cleaning of the paddles or kayak boards in-between customers, which during COVID, was troublesome. Staff was very friendly, easy-going, and professional.

Texas Rowing Center is awesome. I went here for my birthday and was able to Stand Up paddle board for the first time. The prices are cheap and the employees are nice enough. You have to remember they are all high school kids when one is rude. We met the owner, he was really nice. They have a monthly subscription for unlimited paddle boarding which ends up being cheaper than the gym. I might go try that out sometime. Overall, I recommend this place.

Went kayaking on Lady Bird Lake and had a pleasant experience with the staff as well as the activity. Owner was present on the day we went and on multiple occasions he checked in with us to ensure everything was good and whether we enjoyed! Offered masks to anyone who did not have one to ensure the public's safety! Highly recommend Texas Rowing Center!

Very rude employee. Paid $50.00 for canoe rental but was very long line to get one. Stood there for 25min and afterwards we got the canoe there was tons of water in the canoe. We Told the guy to take the water out but instead he replied no matter what there will be water in the boat. We water to get our money back but we re old no refunds. Can only get a gift certificate. Will not come back.

Great rental prices! A lot of people around vut very ample parking anf nice employees. If you are in the area looking to paddle on the water this is the spot!

Went here for my birthday a year ago, have been coming back ever since. I rowed in college and was so excited to find out that there was a place to rent boats in Austin. The monthly membership is very reasonably priced and if you haven't rowed before, it'll include the instruction you need. So I recommend just going with that.

Cashiers are not friendly nor helpful. They seem very annoyed with their jobs. The workers on the dock were much nicer and we had a great time in the water but when we got back, one of the girls told me "get out the kayak" and didnt even help me and glared at me like she was annoyed. All the other people getting out the water had help. Then, my niece was getting out while one of the workers held her kayak but he suddenly let go as soon as she stood up. She ended up falling and scrapping both her knees on the side of the dock. It was an honest mistake and we weren't mad at him but her knees were bleeding a lot and no one helped. I went to the cashier and asked if she had any napkins or bandaids. Once again, just rude attitude and just points at a dusty box with dusty bandaids on the shelf which is fine that they dont provide all the first aid stuff but at least ACT concerned. My niece had blood just dripping down her legs into the dirt and they didnt blink an eye. Never going here again. The Rowing Dock and Live Love Paddle are much better locations and provide 100x better customer service. Plus, those locations provide free cubbies and lockers.

Really great environment with lots of shade and it is very clean

I went with a couple friends and it was really fun. The people there were nice and friendly and helped you if it was your first time. They have boxes for your stuff that they kept so you wouldn't lose it if you fell in the water. It is a very relaxing activity and also has a beautiful view of the city from the water. I would go again.

Texas Rowing Center in Austin delivers a great water sprit experience for tourists and locals alike. We rode here on the now-famous Lime scooters, parked them, then rented a couple of paddle boards and went off into the refreshing water. The folks are nice, and the rental equipment feels nice. The life jackets had that typical wet, used smell to them, which seems pretty standard across all outfitters, I just wish it wasn't there.

The staff was courteous and helped us get everything we needed. The main issue is that $15 for an hour is a bit pricey... I mean kayaks run about 300-400 especially the cheap ones they had. But it was worth it for a nice trip on the water. As they warn you, you will get wet. My pants were soaked by the time we got out.

The people at Texas Rowing Center are awesome. I contacted them about doing a group discount for a group from UT and the person who contacted me back was VERY nice. He offered me two different deals that would work with the group and he was very, very accomadating. I didn't attend the event, but my friends who did said that everything went well and that the staff and equipment was all great. I will be going myself soon!

Customer service is everything, and this place did not leave a good first impression. Since the website does not have an FAQ page, we had to call in to see what the parking situation was. It was the most unpleasant phone call I ve ever encountered with a business. My boyfriend started the call asking the woman who answered how she was doing and she said good. ...I was just wondering if you have onsite parking? No. This woman sounded like she either hated her job or her life, and all her answers were one word in the most annoyed, not engaging tone. I was so turned off by this phone call that we researched other options and went with a different company where we were greeted with friendly staff, had a great time and also enjoyed their onsite parking. Customer service is important. Every interaction counts! We were referred to this place by a friend but they ultimately lost our business in the end.

Texas Rowing Center was Awesome! It was not very difficult to find parking nearby [on a Tuesday]. We used a group coupon that allowed us two hours of paddle board use for $15 [normally they are $15/hour]. The boards were in great condition and the staff was very friendly. We paddled to Lamar bridge and back, it was good fun!

Friendly staff, good prices. They ran out of paddles when we were there so we had to wait which is the only knock.

Easy to access, friendly staff. Their lessons are great and equipment is solid. If you've never kayaked or rowed or paddled, go and try it out here. You'll come back for sure. It's worth $15 just to try it out for an hour and see if you're meant for kayaking daily.

Easy access, but took a while to get in a canoe after checking in and another customer took a baby turtle as they came back and didn't see staff say anything. Canoe was also broken somehow and pulled to the right the whole time. Easy check in/ check out and staff was very friendly.

Great place for paddle boards kayaks and canoes! Can be crowded on the weekends recommend to come early if you can! Also they have boat storage if you'd rather store your own boat on the dock.

The owner last was super nice and we had a blast! It was a beautiful time on the Colorado River kayaking under giant Austin city buildings.

Our son did a day camp through the rowing center & loved it! The price was fair & he had a great time during the hot summer day. All of the people were very nice and showed him lots of pointers. We were able to drop him off right by the entrance and had no problems being able to pick him up in the afternoon. I would definitely send him again.

Great people and service dedicated to helping you fall in love with rowing, kayaking, or stand up paddle boarding. They have great Groupon deals, classes, one time passes, and multi use stamp cards that are good value. Life vests for humans and dogs are available. Personal belongings go into a free small container when you check in and returned to you when you're done. They will charge extra if time is exceeded.

Who doesn't love to be on the water? They rent out SUP, kayaks, and rowing equipment for reasonable prices. I can't wait to go back.

Low price for 2hr fun. You don t need to be a swimmer or to know any water sport to enjoy this. You re given a brief tutorial. You re reverse parking maneuvers will come handy Bring lots of sun protection.

Yesterday was my first time canoeing in years. Me and my friends were struggling but manged to get the hang of it. The water had a current going towards downtown so we were struggling to turn around and go back. As expected we flipped our canoe over. The staff acted fast and came to save us. We had only payed for an hour and they didn't make us pay the extra hour we took. They also gave a us a 50$ gift certificate because we flipped over.

A fast a easy place to grab a a ride and hit the river. A bit packed and parking isn't easy but a great way to get into the river. Really easy for anyone. Looking forward to coming back.

This was my first time here. I called ahead of time to check what Texas Rowing Center was doing in regards to COVID 19. I was told they required masks off the water, 6 ft distancing in line, hand sanitizer stations, and disinfecting equipment before use. When I got there no one was standing 6 ft apart in line and no one was enforcing it. There was no hand sanitizer in sight and there was no disinfecting of the equipment. Some staff were wearing masks but no customers were and no one was enforcing it either. I was very disappointed that they were not practicing what I was told over the phone. We drove all the way from leander just to turn around and go home. I will not be coming back.

It was my first time using this company. Great prices during the week. Unfortunately the kayaks are one size fits all. I'm a tall guy and my knee joints hurt a bit. Other than that. It was awesome. The staff is friendly. I recommend.

The Texas Rowing Center in Austin provides friendly and efficient service for those looking to paddle board, kayak or canoe. They generously let me store my bag in their storage area, which saved me a trip back to the car. They are relatively strict with time deadlines, but are also able to be reasoned with, which is impressive considering the volume of customers they work with on a daily basis, especially during the summer. On the whole, I had a positive experience and look forward to returning.

Our favorite spot to rent SUPs and Kayaks. Visited this place more than 10 times. We find this place to be located in an ideal spot on the river.

Although we didn't rent here and were clearly using someone else's board, they showed good maritime courtesy and let us dock to fill up our thermoses.

This place can get pretty packed, in the afternoon. But definitely try to make it down to the train bridge down stream and you'll get to see some pretty cool graffiti

They we fast at get our paper work and money. But never told us that there was 2 lines and both were different. So we waited an hour in one and then I had to wait at the end for the other....

Love renting from this place! The line moves quick, and you are in the water in no time! I take everyone who visits me here to experience Ladybird on a SUP paddleboard. And $45 all day isn't too bad! We pack a cooler that straps to the board and spend the whole day out on the water.

Pretty poor customer service, called them and the millennial on the other end wouldn t answer my questions and tried to hang up on me but was to stupid to realize that he didn t and I could hear his conversations. Management needs to have some customer service training.

I love having the option of rowing, kayaking, canoeing, and Stand Up Paddle boarding. Texas Rowing Center is my go to for things on Town Lake. The staff is always helpful, and friendly.

Spent Memorial day afternoon out on Ladybird Lake with my kids. Great experience. Super friendly staff and the least expensive rentals on the lake. One thing to point out, the Kayaks are short and nimble, so if you are a big guy, they are harder to balance than some of the slightly longer kayaks available elsewhere. Not a big deal, just figured I'd point it out.

One of those things you gotta do with friends or family. Great area and low price. Friendly staff.
