The views are absolutely wonderful and so is the wine. However as an overnight guest we had a couple experiences that we're far from perfect. The restaurant there is truly mediocre at best but expensive. It looks good when it comes out but the seafood pasta was really fishy and the risotto was not as thick as it should have been. However the steaks we're excellent. Service in the restaurant was slow and unreliable. One waiter with assistant, 15 -20 tables and just doesn't add up to a good experience. A winery of this caliber should certainly have better food across the board. Our stay was nice as we were in the yurts. However they are very minimal and it is very difficult to get around the premises with small children and infants. Great for a romantic getaway but not a stay with kids.

We received a gift certificate to Cave B Inn as a wedding gift. We spent two nights, enjoyed a 5 course dinner with wine pairing, Sunday Brunch, a couples hot stone massage, and wine tasting. It was a fabulous stay. The people were wonderful and very friendly and helpful. Our dog stayed with us in one of their dog-friendly accommodations and was able to enjoy his company during our meals on the patio of the restaurant. It was very relaxing and enjoyable.

The bed was so comfortable I hardly left it! Great view of the river, we sat out on the patio quite a bit.

I have nothing bad to say. If I had to pick something it would be one of the doors to our patio had a broken hydraulic because it slammed shut, very loudly. But there were 2 doors so we used the other one.

I only went to the restaurant here, but the entire atmosphere is very nice and relaxing and romantic, but... I was there alone. Anyway the food and service are both great. A tad bit pricey but to be expected. I would say it's a great place for a honeymoon, babymoon, anniversary, almost any kind of special occasion. The Gorge is right next door, so you can hear when there's a concert going on, but it's not too terribly loud. It is kind of confusing to get around the tiny little winding roads, but it's within a vineyard, so I excuse them for that. If you are trying to find the restaurant, you can call them and they'll give you directions because the gps lady doesn't know what she is talking about. And the cell service goes in and out in this area.

We truly enjoyed our first visit to Cave B. We were there for a Gorge concert and it could not have been more convenient. We stayed in the Yurt which was nice, roomy and clean. There are a few hiking trails that led to the Columbia river which were fun to explore. The setting is fantastic.

Lovely venue. Staff pleasant but service slow...understaffed, and basic amenities not in room like a night stand for both sides of the bed and an in room hair dryer. Requested hair dryer, but never delivered. I expect more for the rating and the price.

Cave B is a spot like no other. Their lodging is unique and everything has a view of the gorge or sprawling vineyards. The staff is incredibly helpful and the event facilities are gorgeous. It's the perfect getaway and an amazing spot for a wedding!

Awesome place. Incredible view and hike to the river. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were excellent. Restaurant was decent but not many vegetarian options. Wine tasting fun. White wines better than reds was the consensus.

Lovely setting in a vineyard. Bar and Inn staff very friendly and helpful. Delivered a wedding cake for a wedding being held there. Found the banquet manager to be very unhelpful and rude which is the reason for not giving a five star review. However, the sales manager Kelly soon arrived and quickly turned what was a very unprofessional experience into the exact opposite and even exceeded expectations from that point on. Had she not intervened, this would have been a 1 star review.

Beautiful view, rooms are clean. Road may be inaccessible if car was low to the ground. Some signs of rodent issues in our room..but haven't seen any so far. Wine tasting $8 not bad 6 wines (3 white and 3 red) nothing too remarkable, looking forward to the dinner at Tendrils

Unity travel gave me the wrong room, but cave b gave me an upgrade to compensate. Food is great. Rooms are a bit dated and need good deep cleaning. Staff super friendly. It's literally the only option if going to the Gorge. I stay here every year for the past 5 years for Paradiso Festival.

Started in the yurts glamping. Unfortunately there was heavy construction going on right next to our yurt. Managment graciously gave us an upgrade to a cave room.

The grounds of Cave B resort and spa are immaculate, the restaurant superb, only to be out done by the spectacular views. From yurt 52 you can lay in bed and enjoy the gorge and river.

Also had an extra special treat spending an afternoon at the spa for facial and then a couples massage.

Super great get away only a couple hours away from our west side home

Thanks Cave B!

This is pretty much the most incredible place in Washington. Our cliffhouse was incredible. The views were amazing, we loved the fire and giant bath. We got room service because we didn't want to leave the dog and the food was really incredible! We will definitely be back!

We stayed here 2 nights for our 22nd wedding anniversary. The accommodations were great. The view was spectacular. We'd love to come back and see it when the vineyard is growing. The food was very good.
My complaints are that I had called ahead of time to schedule stone massages for my husband and I. I made it very clear that we wanted to have 80 minute stone massages and would pay extra on top of the rejuvenate package. I made the appointment, however when we got there, they told us that they only had us down for 50 minutes, which was very disappointing.
Another thing is that they don't seem to be able to keep track of how to keep track of when the customer has package deals. We had problems at the spa & at the restaurant. It was quite an expensive weekend and it was disappointing to have to spend time to convince them that they shouldn't be charging me more! They need to improve on their communication between the departments and training staff to understand what is included in the packages.

There is nothing wrong with the inn. The architecture and views are lovely. The restaurant's food and service were good. However, we have had equally comfortable stays in attractive places at a considerably lower cost. Perhaps if we had been interested in wine tasting (I understand their wines are quite good), or had stayed in a less expensive room, instead of one of the Cliffehouses, I would have a different impression of the place. The highlight, for me, was an early morning hike on the trail to the river. The vistas were stunning!

Lovely vineyard. A fun place to stay, a fun place to drink. A delightful place to eat and there are opportunities behind the venue for some absolutely stellar hiking. Cave B is all about comfort and they have mastered that art.

Great place to stay with good food and drinks. Somewhere you would want to spend a weekend and probably would never have to leave. The views are incredible and the grounds are large enough to spend time exploring. The cavern rooms are especially awesome, but the private villas are probably the best bet to stay in.

We stayed in a yurt at the Cave B Inn for a friend's wedding. The property was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were all very helpful. The pool said great spot to hang out, and the bar tenders were very helpful and nice.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. I have broken down my visit into sections below but the overall message is DO NOT VISIT AND DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING THERE!!

REPEAT: DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING THERE

1. Reservations
The website is extremely difficult to use. I was attending Cave B for a wedding and the code wouldn't work, when I called they didn't answer several different times. When they finally did they were rude and acting as if every question I asked was stupid.

2. The Yurt
The yurt was disgusting, there was dirt/dust all over the ground and the stereo they put in there is horrible and can't hold a bluetooth connection. My friends yurt had a broken curtain that fell off the door TWICE. When I went to go take a shower, there were 2 earwigs in my towels. There is also nothing to cover the skylight so the sun comes in at 4am.

3. WEDDING
The wedding I was in was only made amazing by the people attending it. 16 days before the wedding the venue EMAILED the bride to say how excited they were to host the wedding but that they needed around $8,000 more! YES 16 DAYS BEFORE they emailed her to say she owed more money (not her fault, their fault) and that they needed an answer in 2 days. She booked the venue a year in advance and they signed and viewed the contract. All their visits to the winery went smoothly leading up to the wedding and nothing was ever said about them not being charged enough or anything. I was shocked to say the least so when she argued that it was a mistake on their end and its not fair, they didn't care and were happy to cancel her wedding and her guests reservations. OVER THEIR MISTAKE. I promise you I am not making this up.

4.Treatment of Guests
The morning after the wedding, the bride and I walked into the main check in area where they serve breakfast to say good morning to her guests and quickly leave. The bride was in a beautiful and appropriate, one piece swimsuit with shoes on and tried to walk in to say hi. Instead she was stopped by a woman who was the owner saying she can't come in and that this establishment was "classy". SHE WAS SO RUDE! All of this after the bride spent so much money on her wedding there.

5. Misc.
- They have no water service, our places we stayed only had two water bottles, when I asked for more they said we could buy them at the front desk
-The roads to drive around were dusty and untamed
-The AC in my yurt cooled only half the room
-The beds in the yurt were uncomfortable
-The signs displayed throughout the property of tiny or missing

DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING THERE!

I had a terrible first experience at Cave B, horrible management. I'm really disappointed and sad about the amount of money I paid to stay there. I didn't get the room I paid for, they actually downgraded me to a yurt house that's cheaper then the room I had booked, the manager himself don't even try to solve anything,he just sat back and tried to joke around about the situation . First night walking into my room I found a rat eating my food that I had brought for my trip. I wasn't able to contact management because we didn't have a phone in our room and our phones didn't have service. At check out they tried to bill me for a $215 continental breakfast (I wish) that I didn't order. Overall terrible service and even worse management. If I could I would definitely rate this "resort" a -5

We were at The Gorge for a DMB show, Cave B is walking distance. Great views, and they'll let you enjoy the beauty of the place and bring in your own beers, which is good for me as I don't drink wine. Some of the folks in my party got some wine, loved it, and we bounced.

I wish I could give ZERO stars
I beg you to spend your money elsewhere! This place is pitiful. To put this into perspective, I travel a ton and have never wrote a negative review. My husband and I booked a yurt. We realize that the yurt is meant to be a "camping experience" but this was well beyond any horrible camping experience I have ever had. The canvas on the yurt was not stretched tight enough and it was windy all night so we literally did not sleep at all, as the canvas was slapping against the structure all night. This was not a light little tap but a loud banging sound next to our ears all night long. So much for a relaxing, kids-free getaway. This does not even take into account that we paid $349/night for the yurt and the shower curtain and curtains in the main living area were pvc pipe with zip ties. Yes, you are reading that correctly. We spoke with the general manager, MK, the next day and although she moved us to a new room she had zero empathy for the fact that we did not get any sleep. We had one decent dinner at the restaurant but the breakfast was downright awful. Who doesn't toast the english muffin on an eggs benedict? The potatoes were cold and rubbery and the chilaquiles subpar. When I spoke to MK about these issues she responded with the same response as she does in all the trip advisor reviews. "I will talk to our kitchen crew" and "I will see what I can do going forward." "We hope to have better service going forward" and "We can't please all our guests." All she has is canned responses, no true client service. I will say that our massage therapists were great but the actual spa itself is awful. The room is appx 8 ft x 8ft and that includes the dressing room and the bathroom. Not exactly relaxing before your massage to listen to someone in the bathroom while you change. This place is terrible. I hope that the new owners listen to their customers and get a GM that is empathetic and has some decent customer service skills.

My wife and I were on a day trip to the area to scout out the Gorge Amphitheatre for a concert we were attending in June. Our GPS took us to Cave B instead of the venue but realized that it was just next door. We stopped in to do a little wine tasting with an extremely friendly hostess named Liz, had a great time and ended up purchasing a couple of bottles and a few classes while we sat and relaxed taking in the spectacular view. Afterwards, we walked over to the main building to inquire about a room for the concert weekend and spoke to another extremely friendly person who gave us keys to two different types of rooms to view, the Cavern room and the Cliffhouse. Both were fantastic! We ended up choosing the Cavern room for our concert weekend because it was around $60 cheaper. We then had lunch at the Tendrils restaurant and the food and view was again, spectacular!
During lunch it dawned on us that we needed to find a place to stay (we figured we were going to find a hotel in Ellensburg), so we opted for the Cavern room. Later on, while the wife and I were relaxing in our room, a group of what I could only think was "Screaming Banshees on the hunt" entered their room, and continued this behavior for the next half hour. We asked the front desk if they could possibly move us, stating that we would be willing to pay the extra amount to stay in one of the Cliff houses. They accommodated and we immediately moved over. And what an upgrade it was, much more room, and no one around to bother you, so worth it!
When we got home I realized that I had left my pillow in the room. Usually I would have written it off, but this pillow, as goofy and gnarly looking as it was, is the perfect size big head and wide shoulders. I called, in the off chance that they had it and they did! Not only that, they are shipping it back to me! I cannot say enough about the customer service that was displayed at this time, and I want to let them know that they have a customer for life!
Thank you Cave B!

Where to begin... I'll start with the bad - but please also read the good.
Day 1: We rented a cliff view cottage. Upon arrival at the room we found the view was of rooftops of other cottages. I returned to the desk and requested another cottage. After some debate between the desk staff I was moved. The room needed cleaning so I suggested we could just go to a wine tasting while we waited and I was assured they'd call when the room was ready. 45 minutes after I was expecting their call I returned to the front desk where I was promptly issued keys to the room I requested to move from. After about 5 minutes of conversation, one of the desk staff suddenly recognized me and another brief debate started. I should point out that we were traveling with a dog and it was 105 degrees outside for this 2:45 wait. Cottage changed and new keys presented. Later that evening we ordered a snack from room service. A short time later the food arrived w/o the requested ice and 1 set of silverware, and for whatever reason, 1 straw. The delivery was made by one of the front desk staff from earlier.
Day 2: We ordered breakfast and were sure to call out "for two". This time we got 2 glasses of ice water with lids and 0 straws (same desk person). My wife scheduled an early afternoon massage and I drove her the ~2 blocks there (again, ~105 degrees outside). Upon returning to the room, my key would not work and the dog is locked in the room. I walked ~1 block to the front desk (105 degrees) and was informed that the key was not properly made and issued a new key.
Day 3: We slept in and had a relaxing morning. At some point I went to the car for something and upon returning to the room I found my key, again, would not work. I had to knock on the door until my wife woke up to let me in. At this point we decided to skip breakfast and just leave a day early. As the policy is 7 days cancellation notice, I just left the keys in the room, packed, and left.
This was someplace we stayed 1-2 times a year for a long weekend. I'm not sure we'll be back again. As I understand it, ownership of the resort changed hands and is now separate from the winery. I don't know if the staff changed, or the issue is related to legal marijuana in WA, now, but the staff at the desk are friendly but completely obtuse.

The good: Beautiful landscape and views. You are literally on the edge of an active winery. The direct services are mostly good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant menu is limited but delicious. Great wine selection. My wife loves the spa and pool. Dog friendly. If you enjoy regular walks in 100 degrees + temperatures, you would not be bothered by the issues mentioned above.

We stayed in a yurt at Cave B, which was quite lovely. It was perfect for a short stay like ours for a wedding. The breakfast at the Inn was mediocre. The food was adequate, but the service could be improved. My simple over easy egg breakfast came out with almost fully cooked yolks, things I asked not to be included were, and it took an hour after ordering to get that.

Recently I was a guest at a wedding at this venue-- There was a breathtaking view of the canyon and Columbia River for the ceremony, a wonderful lawn surrounded by a grapevine, and spectacular views of the sunset for the reception.

However, seeing my friend, the bride, in tears and totally stressed by the management of this venue, I would NEVER recommend it. Two weeks before the wedding, the management completely changed the terms of her contract, adding great cost to wedding. Two weeks before!!!--Leaving her no chance to move to another venue. This is not the way to treat clients -- for those may already booked-- beware!!!

Quite an impressive estate and beautiful views of the Columbia from the restaurant. Here for wine and dining in the spring. The food was good, imaginative and well prepared but not necessarily a compelling reason to come out of your way. Rather come for the wine, the view and the setting.

Words can't describe how wonderful this place is. I'll do my best to detail my experience here.

Cave B Inn & Spa is located in a vineyard about an hour and a half from the tri-cities area. Nearly every villa has a gorgeous view of the river and canyon below.

They have a five star cafe/bar. There's wine tasting events. There's an amazing spa. They have several areas for a wedding ceremony (the reason for my stay) and reception.

The staff is super friendly and professional. Each villa is quite a walk from the lobby (depending on how far your room is) but they buggy you around at your request.

THE CONS: from what I've seen, most of the place IS wheel chair accessible but it wasn't very easy. We had a few people with canes for the wedding, and they made it to the ceremony, but it was a bit more difficult than we would have liked.

Cave B Inn is secluded. I would imagine this is one of the reasons you may book here, I'm just throwing this out there for those of you that might not know this. Once you turn off from the highway, there's still another five miles you have to drive to reach your destination. Just think of it like a five mile long driveway.

There isn't great signal/reception for your cell phones here. But the place is so beautiful you would want to enjoy yourself more than you would want to be on your phone.

I hope this review helps. It is truly a wonderful experience. Don't let the few cons get in the way of staying here.

We visited this place in spring, in the first week of April. The year was a little more colder than usual. The grapes were dead, so the winery was not as beautiful as I imagine it would be in summers. But having said that, the winery itself is at a great location. It's beautiful. The wine tasting room is not that great. I was expecting more interaction with more sharing of knowledge about the wine or see the actual fermentation of the wine.

The restaurant itself inside the facility is good, remember to make reservations if you are visiting on the weekends.

If you are driving from Seattle in the spring time, it can then into an awesome drive where you can see rain, snow and sun in a 3 hour drive. Enjoy!!!

We tend to always stop by the Cave B in & Spa on our trips to Spokane enjoying the winery and the restaurant. The staff is really good and the food and wine are delicious. Wish that they would offer appetizers for lunch if you just wanted a lite snack but other than that it has been a really pleasant visit each time.

The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because the dining room staff was wonderful. We checked in on a Friday afternoon for a single night stay in a 2-room suite. The view was lovely but the suite looked "tired" with windows that had not been washed in quite a while, cobwebs on the patio and a pair of aging chaise lounges without cushions. The only closet was in the front hall and it had a total of 3 hangers and there was just one luggage stand in the master and nothing in the second bedroom. We discovered after checking in that our room was next door to a bride who was due to get married the following afternoon and her suite became party central and so we spent our entire visit surrounded by her guests including late into the evening when we finally had to call the front desk to ask that the party go inside so we could get some sleep. However, the worst part was when I left for brief walk while my 87-year-old mother was showering before dinner and she came out of the bathroom (fortunately fully dress) to discover two men wandering around our suite. She yelled at them to get out and without apologizing they told her SHE should keep her patio door locked because they thought this suite was part of their group. Obviously, I was never informed a wedding was going on around us, and the bride was not informed that there were other guests in her area. The following morning I politely complained to the general manager and told her about the two men in our room and how frightening it was for my mother. Her response was not to apologize but to say this, "We are not responsible for the conduct of our guests." I was shocked how unprofessional and poorly trained she appeared to be. I did not ask for refund (which I believe she should have offered) but instead requested a gift certificate for another stay on a quieter day. She did want to do anything at all initially but eventually offered 50% off a future night. However, after my encounter with her, I would never return. Cave B Inn should be a great place to stay and could be if it was professionally operated and managed. For now, I would not recommend this place to anybody. I probably should have spent more time reading other reviews before making the reservation because it sounds like many other guests have had similar experiences to mine.

Is there a 0 star option? We heard good things about Cave B and were excited to stay here so booked our room a couple weeks in advance. The day we were supposed to check in, we had a major water main leak on our property, flooding everything taking most of the day to repair. We called a couple hours before check-in, understanding Cave B has a "no reimbursement" policy, though when we shared the situation, offering to provide date/time stamped photos and a date stamped invoice from the plumber to "prove" we were telling the truth and ask for a one-time exception, they wouldn't hear of it. After 3 calls to the front desk to plead our case to the unsympathetic receptionist, a manager finally called back and was unwilling to reimburse our room rate but offered a credit for another night stay within 4 weeks of that date. I called the next day & set up another date in November. A week before we were supposed to arrive, the front desk left a voicemail late on a Saturday night wondering if we were checking in. They put us down for the wrong date. We had a commitment on the calendar for that night for over 6-months and were out-of-town. I've called back twice since to find out about rescheduling and they offered to book us at a much higher rate (for their mistake), plus they said a manager would call us back twice....we are still waiting. To summarize, we had an emergency, Cave B wouldn't reimburse, we re-book, they put down the wrong date, then want us to pay more for their mistake and we have to do it within 2 weeks or we are out our reservation rate + taxes and we are still waiting for the manager to call....At this point, we would just like to be reimbursed and forget about the whole thing. Guess the attorney general's office is the next move?? Too bad, we were excited to give this place a try.

All the makings of a perfect evening. Just missed the end of tasting room hours and wanted to use the bar but were turned away. The restaurant had two couples seated. It was my third time there and my last. The cliff side rooms are great but just remember the management is the same and showed its ugly head 2/3 times.

My wife and I were in a bit of a bind and needed a place to stay. We already had reservations at Tendril and we figured that we would check to see if Cave B had any rooms open.
The lady at the front desk said that they did have a yurt available at $433 for the night. Not really having an option, and thinking my wife and I deserved a little luxury splurge, I agreed to it.
We opened the door to to the yurt and were less than impressed. A rather large ant ran across the floor in front of me, but no big deal, it is nature and ants will find their way in. I quickly got rid of the ant.
There was a black blanket on the end of the bed and when my wife lifted it up, there was a lot of dirt underneath, as well as a long hair and what I believed was a wolf spider (after google reverse picture search) and some other unrecognizable bug. I quickly captured both in a glass.
According to the check in sheet, it says that we are in nature and if we encounter any wildlife we should contact front desk and a wildlife expert will come to remove the issue.
We call the front desk and the a little while later the front desk lady came to the yurt. She didn't want to go near the cup as she said she was afraid of spiders.
She told me that all she could offer me was a bottle of wine, and she would get me a business card of the general manager, so I could email her, and left. She left both the nasty blanket and the bugs in our room and we had to put them outside on the porch ourselves.
We waited a bit for her to return with the card and bottle of wine and she never did, so we walked down to the restaurant to get our dinner.
I went to the restroom shortly after being seated and walked up the the front desk to ask if the lady left the business card in the yurt, and she seemed confused, so I started to explaining that she said that she was going to bring me a business card so I can email the general manager, and she said "Oh. yeah" and gave me the card.
We were seated immediately, and waited for our server. He was very nice and professional when he came to us, but it took him nearly 20 minutes to make contact with us from when we were first seated.
In that time I found an empty water bottle in the bushes that were touching my chair.
My wife ordered a cocktail and we had to send it back as it was way overly sour and not drinkable.
My wife ordered the baby beet salad, which was delicious, although a little heavily dressed, and I ordered the frito misto.
The frito misto was a bland, extremely soggy and greasy mess on a plate.
My wife ordered the gnochii, for her entree and was very disappointed in the sauce that it was served with. It once again was very bland and not exciting, you can buy a better sauce in a jar at the grocery store.
I ordered the spider steak with blue cheese sauce. The steak itself was okay even if slightly over cooked, but the mashed potatoes were very lumpy, and the vegetables were extremely over cooked.
We took the rest of the bottle of wine and headed back to our yurt.
My wife went and showered, and when she came out, she told me how almost painful the shower was.
When I showered, I got the same effect. It is like the shower head needed to be de-limed or something. The water came out like pins and needles and was not relaxing in the least.
Over all, for the price that we paid for that yurt the luxury level should have been higher. Most places for those prices would include a complimentary wine tasting or bottle of wine in your room, a dining or spa credit or something. But nothing at Cave B.
We are highly disappointed and feel that we were taken advantage of and regret that we stayed at a place that has been on our list for a while.
I had email correspondence with the general manager who agreed with the validity of my gripes but offered very little to make up for the fact that we spent so much money and had such an incredibly disappointing stay.
