Very professional, take the time to talk to you and treat you like a person. Just good business.

Can not get an answer as the office is allegedly closed, but is listed as open online on a regular Friday. Not impressed with the lack of customer service and will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB

To Small Business Owners, especially trucker's..Word of advice. Please make sure to ask and and make sure all your questions are answered before signing Any Insurance contracts/agreements. Also please make sure to research these companies reviews, scores, and recommendations, as to they are doing the same with you.

These reviews we write actually mean something and we're telling you our experiences.. Somehow the good reviews are always upfront. LOOK DEEPER. Look at their overall rating.. The AGENT and the broker/underwriter are like the Overly aggressive police officer on the street, and his supervisor.. THEY WORK TOGETHER.. who do you think they're there to protect?? Nope, they're not there to protect you, the insured.. The "customer". They're in it together. They're locking you in bad contracts with high premiums, terrible Agents, and terrible customer service and there's nothing you can do about it. SIU refuses to transfer your policy to another agent (in which they have ALL the "discretionary" power to do so but chooses not to), they refuse to help you, and only there to back the Agent. There's no protection for the insured/customer. My agent quit and my account was left abandoned for a month through Darrell Abernathy, Farmers insurance. I never received said discounts promised, as a matter of fact, everything the agent sold me in wasn't true, and my premium never changed. They were extremely slow and non responsive with obtaining COI's and upon complaining to SIU, I was told "he's been in Trucking and insurance for 30 years, if I was truly getting my COI'S within a few hours I should have stayed with that company". I was appalled that the title on the guys name said VICE PRESIDENT. WOW! He was saying it'll at least take 24 hours in which he thought was a good turnaround time.. Anybody seeing an issue with what he's saying or just Me? You run your company, I'll run mine. 24 hours is ridiculous. Anyone in Trucking knows you'll lose loads that way.

They have me so far entangled in their police and refuse to let me out. The advice given by The VP was to cancel and revoke my Authority...?? Wait, who made you President of MY company?? I've tried on numerous occasions to get this policy at LEAST just transferred to a agent of my choice and liking and to keep underwriting, the carrier, and the finance company in place which is a transfer, and they have denied, refused, and made my time with them a living hell. I literally have 1 more payment and I'm done with them.

They also refuse to let me add any other fleet to my insurance whether I own the equipment or not. It doesn't matter. They're refusing to allow me to effectively run my business. I have no bad ratings, haven't been shut down, good credit, no claims, just being stronghold by Insurance Giants. Terrible experience.

We have been having a very hard time getting our claim finalized so we can move forward with the repairs to our roof and wood floors. Claim was filed 6 weeks ago and still no check yet or update on information and they don't answer the phone when you call for answers. We went with them over our usual USAA due to being cheaper, but you definitely get what you pay for. Don't bother, and we have learned a valuable lesson, never leave USAA. Also an attorney general claim has been filed. Meanwhile we are still getting more damage every time it rains, extremely frustrated with this company.

We've been doing business with SIU for years. They have great carriers and great personele.

If you have a claim, good luck. They are their to take your premium however you will never get a return call on your claim. They essentially try to stall you until you give up.

I was prepared for the worst, but the staff at Southern Insurance were amazing. They treated me well and I never got the feeling they were being dishonest or tricky. 100% recommend!
