Bread was absolutely hideous!!! Caesars salad was so so at best! Steak was good to very good but a little fatty...Spinach and asparagus were pretty good but what does it take to make that!? Prices were high for sure and not even close to worth it for the quality!!! Service was good but what really left a bad taste in my mouth is that when I asked what the potato thingys were he replied croquets and I said I would love to try one and he giggled and ask me to get an order, I replied that it is 9pm and it is late enough, we have ordered enough and just want to try ONE. He then sent over the manager who tried to sell me a half an order after I told him that I eat very healthy and it is late and we have already ordered enough can I taste one for the NEXT TIME!!! THE NNNNEEEXXXT TIIIIMMMMMMMME! No croquet for me obviously.... So, between the quality of food and that incident... NEVER AGAIN for me and my wife!

Everything was delicious... bar atmosphere was just perfect when we first arrived... our table was ready and we had a great time it was my 50th birthday celebration they gave me dessert on the house and a 25.00 gift card for my next visit...perfect
There was only one chicken dish on the menu. This is a steak house but you better make sure that's what your entire party wants to eat because that's all that's on the menu. Extremely overpriced for these steaks. Not worth the trip. Overrated.
Staff was great, very attentive without being overwhelming. For the money spent, definitely not worth it. Everything was OK, but you're not spending OK type money. The petite filet, @ $50, was really no different than what you can get at chain steakhouse. The special that night, a grass-fed strip was tender, but was so salty my taste buds were burning. Save your money or find someplace else.
We met with friends at this restaurant for dinner. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, it was very nice. The staff members were very polite and we had a great feeling. The meal was fresh and delicious. We loved this place very much and we shall absolutely come back again. Recommended.
Love visiting Tellers for their amazing weekday lunch specials. The staff are always courteous and the restaurant is always clean. You won t find better appetizer options and burgers for $19 at a high end steakhouse like Tellers anywhere on the south shore. Highly recommend!
I think it's the best steakhouse on Long Island. During my last visit there our entrees took longer than usual to be served. We didn't complain but our waiter came and apologized several times and gave us free appetizer while we waited! Definitely will be back soon.
First time at Tellers tonight. I had the the rib eye was very good. not great. appetizers was lacking in substance. Crab cakes was ok, nothing special. Potatoes nothing special. Spinach.. not Lugers. Great service. At the end of day. their is Lugers and everyone else trying to be. For me, the it would kill the Tellers to give a bit more food on their appetizers.
Meat was chewy and not cooked as promised. Brussel sprouts were hard and not cooked thoroughly. You are packed in so close to next table it feels like you are on a double date.
My filet was stringy than I hoped for and my ladies NY strip was barely marbled. And the naked potatoes tasted like they poured from a box. Great service though.
Went to Tellers for the first time. Everything was amazing. Would definitely recommend. Our server Robert M. was the best server we have ever had. He made the whole night that much better.
Food was amazing, drinks were amazing and staff was amazing. First time there and my husband is extremely picky about his steak and how its cooked. They made it perfect. We also had our little baby with us and at one point I was holding him and the waiter actually cut my food for me so I can still enjoy. Definitely going back and definitely recommend.
What s not to love about the Great American Chophouse, right here in Islip! Yes the prices are steep, and yes, Gents don t always wear a jacket, like in the movies or in NY proper, but, oh, what a meal! Aged steaks, to die for, perfect cocktails and sides to complement all meals.
Great for special occasions, even better when just because!
My husband and I went to Tellers for the first time on Sunday 3/25/18, and we selected items from their Price Fix menu. Very good. I had the scallop app, skirt steak and we shared a very good chocolate peanut butter parfait. We brought his large piece of chocokate cake home because we were too full. We'll go again to Tellers for sure.
The rumors are true. This place is excellent!!!! The service is exceptional. The food is amazing. The steaks were cooked perfectly! Beautiful atmosphere! No complaints. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!
I was excited to try this place since I had heard wonderful things. Sadly I found my experience here to be VERY disappointing. I knew it was a pricey restaurant, so obviously I expected high quality food and service. Sadly my expectations were not met.
My boyfriend and I ate here on our one year anniversary, I ordered the filet wellington and a side of broccoli and the famous duck fat fries. I was told about some fancy bread they had... but we never got anything more than a few dry pieces in a basket. Hardly fancy...
The duck fat fries and my filet were both excellent, but the broccoli was never brought to our table. (we weren't charged for it so I just didn't mention it)
In the start of our meal the wait staff was on point. It was not a busy time at all, only five tables of people... yet half way through it was like our table no longer existed. I ordered a drink that was never brought. We waited a long, long time for our check. By the end of it I was frustrated. I didn't want their poor service to ruin my anniversary so I just kept quiet. We did not order dessert from Tellers, since I was already fed up with not being fed what I ordered and being neglected by our waiter.
Honestly, the food alone is just not worth the price. There are MUCH better restaurants in the same price range with better food and MUCH better service. I recommend you look into one of those, especially if you plan to celebrate an occasion.
I went to Teller s to have dinner for my daughter s birthday. We had the filet mignon and it was perfect. Fernando gave us the best service ever, he was very attentive and friendly. Also, the manager was amazing, he came to our table to ensure everything was well and offered to take a picture of us. I love Tellers and Prime in Huntington the level of service is superb. I will keep going back!
First time visit. We were referred to by a friend and it didn't disappoint. From the time we walked through the door we felt welcomed to their establishment. Our waitress was very helpful and knowledgable and she recommended certain dishes.. The steak was cooked as we ordered...Perfect. The manager was a people person who greeted us as we entered made adjustments for us and checked up on us throughout our visit even walking us out. Truly professional. Don't hesitate to try
Fantastic. It's nice to have a staff that genuinely cares about your experience there. The food was delicious, the drinks were fantastic, and that dessert is to die for. I was there for my birthday and they gave me my dessert dish on a platter that said "Happy Birthday." The owner came over and thanked me and also gave me a gift card for the next time I visit. Top notch service. Worth every penny. 10/10.
Veal, pork, lamb, and beef were all pretty good. I liked the design of their tea bags! Interior design was classy and very interesting as the restaurant used to be a bank.
Food was incredible. But what made tellers such a great experience is that from the time I walked in the door I was treated like such a gentleman. From the greater at the desk to the sound lady walking us to the table .And then the sweetest server Stefanie was couldnt of been more professional. I was with my daughter and two granddaughters and stefanie treated the girls incredibly. Great job tellers and staff what a great Thanksgiving dinner bravo!!
Excellent service and delicious food! Went here for a special occasion and was not disappointed. We ordered: crab cakes, 3lbs lobster, tomahawk rib eye, baked clams, bacon steak, and wedge salad. Everything was delectable! Definitely my new favorite place.
Went to tellers with 3 other couples in the beginning of the summer . Everything was great but I think they are over priced . Staff food & atmisfear was great but I have had better food less atmisfear for 1/4 less the money. AGAIN this is not a bad review it's just about what's important to you. If you want to impress a date Then definitely go to tellers...
An Amazing Experience. I have been wanting to try Tellers for quite the longest. I finally decided to take my girlfriend out to dinner. We generally go to upscale restaurants with the occasional average spot once and awhile. We were very impressed with the service, ambiance, and food. From start to finish - we had an extraordinary experience and here is why:
Hostess: Very friendly, organized, and sat us at a perfect table with ample room for the food we ordered.
Wait Staff: Professional, organized, and well communicated. I observed the waiter of ours communicate to certain wait staff individuals - everything was done timely and accurately. Bravo.
Waiter: Friendly from start to finish and read us very well. We like to consider ourselves more reserved and very hard young workers. He spoke to us like that with an occasional joke here or there which brought us to smiles. The waiter explained to us any questions we had, but also recommended which sides to get and what entree. Food and Service are equally important to me, but seals the deal whether ill be back or not. I'll be back.
Food: Appetizers were crab cakes and 3oz stone crab. Crab cakes were delicious and cooked to perfection. 3oz Stone crab was meaty and cracked accordingly. I prefer hot drawn butter next time, which Im sure they would have accommodated. Main dishes were Prime Rib Medium Rare and the Sole. Wow, Prime Rib was a 20oz cooked medium rare as requested with a delicious au jus gravy. Sole was cooked perfectly and gobbled up by the gf. Sides were Scalloped Parmesan Potatoes and Mac and Cheese. Absolutely one of the best mac and cheeses I have ever had and we go out every day for lunch and dinner. Potatoes were tasty as well. Lastly, the Brooklyn Cheesecake was good, not as good as my cheesecake sorry! Had a Red from California - great choice and the gf had a Sauvignon Blanc - great. Wine glasses were real crystal and to me and other wine connoisseurs this is a big deal.
Ambiance: More than enough space. Quiet Dining. We were overdressed which is kind of surprising because I would have thought an expensive steak restaurant would require suit pants, collared shirt, dress shoes, and dresses for the women. I was mistaken. I'm an avid believer that expensive places should require a dress code and I didn't see it.
Valets: Valets were nice and understandable I didn't want to valet my car.
Overall. This is the place to visit. Great food, great service, great ambiance, great experience! Thanks Tellers.
Atmosphere and surroundings were excellent, but I don't eat the wood walls! Appetizer of shrimp and lobster dumplings was over cooked and tasteless. One server upstairs for 8 tables? Are they kidding me? After waiting for 1 hour and 40 minutes (party of 8) for our dinner to arrive here is what we received. Two Raw (and I mean raw) pork chops which could not be eaten, a cold NY strip (cooked perfectly), two filet mignons (cold, but cooked perfectly), and a server Deena, who avoided us like the plague when she realized the kitchen was throwing her tip in the trash. When I went to the rest room I noticed that the managerial staff was furiously preparing meals (expoing) which indicates they are understaffed and behind on the orders, mind you this was at 9:40 p.m. not 7:00 p.m. (prime time). The manager was called upon and was apologetic and wanted to do "something for us". I am not that type of customer that whines for a free tid bit, I respectfully declined. He did deduct one of the pork chops, we were given a $25.00 coupon to go back (which I am returning in the mail), and we left refusing to order desert. If you look at the other reviews INCONSISTENCY is the flavor/impression you will glean from the undertones. For this $$$$ this restaurant should know better. Be forewarned. As my dad quipped the water was excellent.
My father and I love to treat ourselves to their amazing price fixe lunch from time to time. Their lobster bisque presentation is lovely and delicious! Great wait staff, have never experienced anything other than professional and attentive.
830pm reservation and seated at almost 930. Ordered the homemade tater tots and the waiter said great choice...fyi I go to Tellers a few times a year and get the tots...they are great...come back and says they are out of tots...
Great place, great food. Friendly staff. The staff always asks if you are celebrating anything (so they can give you a gift card if you are) its a little pricey but well worth it.
Tellers American Chophouse is a class act. They are professional, courteous and very concerned with customer satisfaction. I had a small issue with my bill and the management investigated it and fixed it right away. They have great food, great decor and great attention to detail. Tellers is more than a steakhouse, its a total dinning experience. The service was highly professional, yet very friendly and helpful. I really trusted my waitress and her suggestion was well worth it. Great place for family, business or romantic dinning. In short, excellent food, wine, service and atmosphere. Great experience, will definitely recommend and come back! My only complaint was that it was over too soon. Looking forward to my next visit
Its good we been here a few times but come on give up like a 3 piece meal like with out paying more money salad would be great for if it came with the meal.i actually had to ask for Pasta with the chicken parm.
Short and simple. Not our first time at Tellers. Had a birthday celebration reservation for 8pm. We arrived around 7:50. We're told table would be ready in 10-15 minutes. After waiting 40 minutes with a reservation we left at 830. I understand sometimes you may not be seated for 8pm on the dot but don't take so many reservations if you cannot accommodate everyone accordingly. When your spending anywhere from 500+ I expect to be seated within a reasonable time or at least offered a glass of wine or something.
Ruth Chris, Prime etc ... you do not encounter this. Don't think we will be coming back anymore.
This is a really cool and fancy steakhouse in islip on Long island. It is in a former Bank building and even has a vault - where they keep some wine bottles. Food is pretty amazing. New York strip was great. All sides are a la carte. Negative is it's all pretty absurdly expensive. Worth a trip though !
Ambiance is outstanding. It has that wow factor when walking into the main seating area. Service was on point and punctual the entire time. The bacon slab was more like pulled pork, the grilled octopus was awesome and the wontons were great. The porterhouse was seasoned very well, and is a thicker but more narrow slice that other places, so even a medium rare was like a rare in other places. Will be going back for sure.
The atmosphere, food, and service were all excellent! It s not a place you go if you re on a budget, but it is worth every penny. Highly recommend the rib eye , it was amazing!
My husband and I had a delicious lunch which was also very relaxing and warm. Sat next to a wonderfully cozy fireplace, had a glass of delicious wine and great conversation. Staff were warm and welcoming and attentive. Will definitely return.
From apps and drinks to epic steaks and desserts, this is our favorite place for a nice dinner. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries or just enjoyed their Tuesday night wine dinner. Highly recommend the lobster bisque, tellers del Monaco steak, and the creme brulee.
