From the very first time we visited Ryland Inn, our daughter knew it was just what she was looking for. Not a ballroom, not a barn. Lara was our contact person/event coordinator. She did an excellent job of keeping in touch, coordinating all the various vendors, and making sure everything we envisioned happened. Lara also was able to make suggestions based on her extensive experience that wound up working better than our original ideas. She was always professional, respectful, and never tried to upsell options. We felt that she had her finger on the pulse and everything went without a hitch.
Toni was my daughter's bridal attendant assigned by Ryland and she was on top of everything, from helping the bride dress, making sure both the bride and the groom had what they needed, making sure they had sometime to just breathe and be together, and made sure they ate. And, the part we loved best--she joined us on the dance floor!
The bartenders and wait staff were on point. Also joined in on the dance floor!
Food was perfect, set-up was perfect, the day was perfect.
We did opt to rent farmhouse tables and chairs from The Daylily Group as we thought it reflected the ambiance of the Coach House.
It would be a mistake though to call this a well-oiled machine, because that conjures up "wedding mill' .
Far from it, a wedding at the Ryland Inn is more like a fine-tuned orchestra.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Ryland Inn. They had pleasant live music which added to the affair. The food was excellent along with the drinks. The service was attentive and professional. (What I would expect from a higher end restaurant) The pricing is what you would except as well. Honestly, the only disappointment was the other patrons. I was surprised about how many people wore jeans but perhaps i was raised differently. But the restaurant and staff were top notch.

We were really impressed by our small dinner for four at the Ryland so I took the plunge and booked a private party for our car club at the Inn. We were not disappointed! 5 star service and food. The landscaping, decor and amenities were all top notch. A delightful experience in every regard.

I eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I must say the customer service is always excellent and they keep the place well kept regularly. Pricing is reasonable and they serve large portions.

Beautiful venue. Horrible service. Not enough staff, not enough food, very inexperienced staff. To have a head waiter leave before the event ended just showed how they did not care. This place should be closed due to them ripping off young couples who are getting married. Proceed with caution !

Overrated. Overpriced. Oversalted, Not great food. Not romantic. Not my favorite.

I don't understand how you can say romantic with in a bright room with large tables where you can hear everyone. The table was such that I was as close to my wife as I was to the guy at the next table. Several people were annoying loud. There was no music till a just ok singer started in the bar. The candle light was a cheap looking shot glass with a warming candle in it. The linens were white on white industrial bleached. The place setting is a picture in a frame. All together, not romantic.

As for the food. The steak tartare was a do-it-yourself kit. I go out when I don't want to cook. The salad greens were so fresh they still had all the stems on them. The beet salad was 1/2 a beet. The salty scallops arrived in a dog dish with a cheese-wiz sauce. A free shot of salty soup was served on the picture frame.

The steak arrived with the wine reduction in a little pitcher and was then liberally applied. The duck seamed rare. The portion size was good. No need to reach for the salt shaker. The steak knives were odd but cut well - which was needed.

The service was odd also. No one offered to take a coat. We were taken directly to the dinning room. We were rushed to give a drink order. There was only one drink menu in the wine book which I handed to my wife as the waiter was describing each of 10 drinks poorly from memory. My wife ordered her drink but I needed the book back. I finally just order a glass of wine as the waiter stood there even though I was going to order a bottle. The bottle prices were triple retail anyway. So, the waiter finally took the coatwhen asked - after we got our drinks. In contrast to this, when dessert finally came and we wanted a second coffee, he was nowhere to be found.

The other resturants in this group are better. When does a group become a chain?

Wonderful property, great food, service was so-so. Nobody told the party that the buffet was being served and the table service was spotty at best. This should not happen at a place like this.

AT $300 FOR TWO YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN INCREDIBLE GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCE, AND I BELIEVE THAT WE DID. SEVEN COURSES INCLUDING TWO DESERTS AND AN AMUSE BOUCHE MOST OF THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL, ALTHOUGH ONE DESERT FOR EACH OF US--FIGS FOR MY WIFE (WHAT IS THIS ARABIA) AND BLACK TRUFFLE ICE CREAM FOR ME) CAN BE LEFT OFF THE MENU. THE STAFF WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND SERVICE WAS INFORMATIVE WITHOUT BEING CLOYING.

Unimpressed, I had the tastings menu and only the wagyu steak was good. One woman I was with ordered the asparagus and got broccolini, they said oops we don't have any asparagus today. For the money they could do much better they should do much better.

Had our pre-Valentine's Day on a Sunday night. The restaurant was very quiet and the attention we got from our servers was excellent. We had delicious Old Fashioneds and warm olives to start (kinda heaven for us). The oysters on a half shell were excellent and both our entrees were also top notch. A very special night and we can't wait to go back.

The Dream for Foodies in NJ, perfect for dinner with loved ones and for events. The beverage program is creative and tasty and the food is delectable and well portioned. It was a great dining experience and we will be back soon!

I attended a wedding at the Ryland Inn on a Sunday. While the venue was gorgeous, the food was awful. The roast beef was still mooing (they weren't kidding when they called it farm to table...it must have skipped the kitchen), the risotto was flavorless, the drinks were small and watered down with too much ice and the chocolate covered strawberries were not fresh. I was extremely disappointed as I had read the reviews prior to attending the wedding and they were great.

To say my wedding was perfect is an understatement...

To say my wedding was perfect is an understatement. My partner and I were planning our wedding from afar (all while transitioning jobs and buying/renovating a home). Lara and Michelle made planning our wedding effortless - always responding to our many questions and being super accommodating when flights were delayed or canceled.

The day of my wedding was more than I even expected. I stayed on site the night before the wedding at the Pelham House along with part of my bridal party and family traveling from out of states. The house was spacious and BEAUTIFUL. The groomsmen were able to get ready there in the morning while my bridal party was set up in the Bridal Suite just a few feet away (which was also perfect). Daniel and Jessica were super thoughtful and attentive and handled any problems without worrying me. Breakfast, lunch and mimosas were made available since we had an early morning start.

Our wedding was supposed to take place outside the Ballroom but of course weather did not permit. However, curtains were set up without any issue and the Ballroom was still a perfect ceremony setting.

Jessica was the sweetest when I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and really helped me take in the moment. After the ceremony and photos, the library was set up with food for my husband and I along with out signature drinks.

And then the reception! We walked in to a table of food and drinks. The whole night Daniel, Jessica and the whole waiting staff checked in on us. They worked with our DJ to make sure we were on track for ending the night on time.

All this to say - planning a wedding is naturally very stressful. Lara, Jessica, Daniel, Michelle, the Chef (who was SUPER accommodating and innovative), and the Inn crew were more than I could have asked for. They were so kind, thoughtful, and attentive. We spent our wedding night dancing, eating and having a ball. I cannot say thank you enough for making our night so special.

An excellent dining experience! We enjoyed the tasting menu with paired wines, it was one of the best times I've ever had in a restaurant. Our waiter, Matthew, was great...enough so that our neighboring table adopted him as their server. (Assuming they pool gratuities, the service was excellent across the board) The food was creative & delicious, unique to your average higher end restaurant.

This is my second visit to Ryland Inn. My first visit a few months ago was for a client dinner and the experience was underwhelming. Our server was inattentive and the food was just okay. I am glad I have it another chance tonight.

My server, Kat, was awesome. She was relatively new but she has the instinct of a well seasoned professional. She picked up on small subtle ques and was the perfect mix of attentive but not hovering. She was waiting on another older couple and I heard the woman tell her exactly that!

The foie gras appetizer with cold foie g ras terrine and seared foie g ras, fried fava bean mash and fresh spring peas, chanterelles, and rhubarb puree was outstanding!

The veal porterhouse with spring nettle mousse and a morel sauce was outstanding! The use of the bitter greens and spring onions made the rich morel sauce sing. The plate was incredibly well constructed and flavors balanced. Without the bitterness of the greens the sauce might have been too rich.

Dessert....which I do not order frequently was also excellent. My only criticism was the berry cobbler had a bit of raw dough but the rhubarb sorbet on top of the buttery drop biscuit topping and the berries was inspired. Often I find desserts too sweet and not worth it but I thoroughly enjoyed the berry cobbler with rhubarb sorbet.

I am so glad I have this restaurant another chance...my previous experience may have been an off night but I am pretty sure the service was a big piece of it and Kat/Cat made it a wonderful evening for all her tables.

Overall this was a nice place. The appetizers were creative and tasty, the main courses were hit or miss. I was part of a large group and some thought their meal was delicious and others were so-so about it. The wait staff was excellent and couldn t have been more accommodating!!!

Elegant venue to celebrate a wedding or anniversary. Plenty of parking and space -- there were two weddings the night my wife and I were there, yet the restaurant still felt intimate and wasn't crowded. There is a garden to produce fresh produce, included in all their dishes. Try the salmon!

Beautifully estate style restaurant in a farm like setting off of Rt 22w in Readington. We attrnded.for our anniversary and they did not let us forget it. They have a great menu that includes a taste option. It was delightfully and elegantly served. Has valet parking.

Food and service was great. We have a well-behaved 6 year old and the server was extremely nice and accommodating. Some places will sit you at the worst table and not even put a place setting down. Ryland was great to him and we teach our kid how to act well in a nice restaurant.

My husband took me out to The Ryland Inn this past Valentine's Day. It recently reopened with a new chef, Anthony Bucco. I am not sure that this is the best time to review the restaurant since it was a fixed menu, four course meal at $99/pp. In addition, there were three seatings, so we did feel a little bit rushed to get in and out.

The decor was excellent - pretty much what it looked like before all the pipes burst several years ago. The service was excellent. I appreciated the less snobby, more friendly attitude of the new wait staff. As I mentioned, however, they were hustling and bustling to get us in and out of there fast because of the 3 seatings that night. Our reservation was for 7 o'clock, so I imagine we were the middle seating.

The food was good for the most part. I had arugala salad with poppy seed dressing, organic scottish (I think) salmon and it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the poached egg on polenta and the filet mignon. They also gave us a pre-appetizer which consisted of about two bites of duck liver pate. I thought it was delicious, but my husband who is a big eater said it was too small to taste. Then they brought out the dessert. It consisted of an a brownish cake, topped with some kind of extruded geletin-like chocolate in a swirlyque with a tail off to the side, topped with an oval scoop of coffee ice cream. I'm embarrassed to say that my husband truthfully announced to the waiter that the dessert "looked like something they had found in the yard somewhere". At which point the couple next to us, who had just finished eating the same thing burst into laughter and said they had thought the exact same thing when they saw it!

Now, I think for Valentine's Day, the dessert chef could have at least had something red in there, instead of three colors of brown in shapes that resembled different consistencies of you-know-what. So somewhat disappointed with the dessert.

But the biggest disappointment of all was when we got the bill. They charged my husband $14.00 for his glass of Johnny Walker Black scotch. (He switched to beer once he found out the price). IN ADDITION, THEY ALSO CHARGED HIM $1.00 FOR "ROCKS" BECAUSE HE ORDERED IT "ON-THE-ROCKS"! Now that is a first in my book! And how petty to be nickled and dimed over a drink.

I had had three glasses of white wine at $10.00 per glass. These were perfectly measured. Personally, I hate when a restaurant does that. It makes much more sense not to be so stingy on the drinks. They make the most profit on these anyway and if they want people to come back they should just pour a generous drink in the first place.

I'm sorry to give this restaurant an average review because it used to be outstanding. But being rushed through dinner, eating what looked like excrement for dessert, and being charged for ice cubes just doesn't do it for me.

We chose the Ryland Inn for a very special occasion and were not disappointed. Our waiter, Matthew, was wonderful! He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very patient with our many questions, with just the right mix of friendliness and humor. The food was wonderful! Thank you for giving us a memorable evening, for all the right reasons.

The place is beautiful and staff nice. I can not believe they remain in fire code with the amount of people they squeeze into a small space. Cocktail hour was delicious, main course not so. Tasteless with uncooked grains.

I want this place to do well as I have lived here all my life. I have been three times now and will do my duty to go again. But I think the price is high for what you get. The wait staff is too much. Chill and let us enjoy our meal. Lighten up on the faux elegant service. On the positive side, they made a bourbon drink to die for. The setting off the highway is beautiful. but sorry they ripped out the classic pewter bar.

Whoa.. did not expect it to be as it was. Don't get me wrong; the live music and atmosphere were awesome, stellar in fact. But that just can't save the Ryland from a few key things:

-45 minute wait for a table and +15 minute wait for appetizers (bread) to come out.
-Meat was tough and flavorless. Like, really tough, despite ordering a medium cooked meat, I got a nearly-rare, flavorless, juice-less puck. Just bizarre.
-Bread on my sandwich was dry and flavorless.
-Want bread for your table? You have to pay $5 for a few crackers' worth of bread and some butter.
-They forgot to bring us a drink we ordered (bartenders were running drinks out to the restaurant in-between making the drinks themselves)

All in all, the quality was not there to justify the pretty exorbitant prices of the food. I'd go for the bar, if you can find a chair, but not for anything else.

Such unique food! And everything is so fresh! You can taste the difference!! The staff is so helpful and really on top of their service. If we say we're in a rush, they keep us on time without ever feeling hurried. If we just want a slow evening of conversation they know exactly how often to check in without being annoying. Love the restaurant.

Also, went to a wedding here and I was absolutely beautiful and the food was, again, amazing! Even when they have to mass produce it for 200 wedding guests. All in all, an awesome place.

The best day ever was had here! Our wedding went flawlessly. Danielle was amazing, helped us out every step of the way to ensure our day was perfect. Alexander was also one of the most attentive staff members of the Ryland Inn. He made sure we had everything we need and everything was to our liking. Awesome and beautiful venue. Wet had our wedding at the rustic, yet elegant Coach House.

Well worth the extra money you will pay. Fantastic service, great food, and an awesome atmosphere. The bar area is great as well. Dollar for dollar one of the better values you will get in the area.

Here for a wedding. Hotel is a small travel but apparently they have built a new cocktail and reception room and they are pretty cool. One too on the reception room, get multiple speakers as it is tough to hear a DJ when there are vaulted ceilings and echoes

My Wife and I had the pleasure of attending a Wedding on Sunday December 8th and I felt compelled to take 5 minutes and give them a review as a patron on my own will. I will skip talking about the architecture and design of this place because although it is spectacular, that is not what makes this place magical.

In respect to service and hospitality this place truly shines! to the point I had to look them up and leave a review because I would be doing them a disservice by not showing my appreciation. It has been a long time where we have attended a venue for a wedding or anything for that matter and the staff STANDS OUT for it's amazing show of warm and welcoming energy. To be honest, It's hard not to notice! They did not skip a single beat. They even danced and partied with the guests towards end of the night when business was taken care of. WE LOVED THAT!!!!

One of the Managers there Monique went ABOVE and BEYOND to take Me and My Wife's picture to the point we told her WE were the ones asking for too much and she insisted and took as many pictures as we wanted. She is also a great photographer!!

The wait staff, bartenders, servers on their TRUE A game. My wife and I spoke about it on the ride home. How we would have wished to have our wedding at this place.

Whoever Owns and Leads this place. KUDOS!!! you have done a phenomenal job building an AMAZING TEAM.

We love filming weddings here, no matter the season! The Ryland Inn sets such a perfect scene for a sophisticated wedding. We love when couples choose to host their ceremony outside. The grand white building makes for the perfect ceremony backdrop--you don't even really need decor. The floor to ceiling windows in the dining room bring in a lot of light, which is perfect for filming. Highly recommend!
