Historic industrial center at the time of the Serenissima Republic

There is not much to do there without the Biennale, but the Biennale costs 4 stars :-)

Nice for a walk! Only the Arsenal is not accessible for visitors.

Quite and beautiful area of Venice. Much less tourists and very calm

Take some time to visit it. Interesting and very beautiful.

Historically vital place for the city of Venice that he could never have become a great power without his Arsenal on the spot and those that the city possessed on various islands of the Mediterranean. Visits in Italian and English exist but these are rare and the visit in Italian lacked historical context to our taste - although it is true that we do not speak Italian well enough to understand everything. A better enhancement of this place is quite possible.

A very quiet piazza and a magical place like the rest of Venezzia

The Arsenal is now a police academy and cannot normally be viewed from the inside.

Beautiful place for photographs, you can see the exit to the sea and the bridge another style, it is fantastic to reach those walls. The privacy of the military zone feels a bit. The closed museum.

Really cool naval base of the Italian military. Landed there by accident. Well worth a detour. :) The story is still alive here.

Its history is suggestive and its position is fantastic: a stone's throw from Piazza San Marco but at the same time away from the chaos. Definitely worth it

This is worth seeing to understand the old phenomenon of Venice

A bit tricky to get to on foot (~10min away from any other "tourist sites" in Venice) but worth the visit for the photos. If you're feeling tired there are a good selection of cafes and bars nearby, servings drinks and reasonable (not great quality) meals.

They add an additional service fee to each invoice. Medium-sized portions.

Pity you can not see inside, the building is gorgeous

Looks awesome, but it was closed to the public. The outside, and peeks at the inside, were very interesting. Walk by after visiting the nearby Maritime Museum.

The place is spectacular in its beauty. And reminiscent of a movie scene ... The soldiers in the base area are kind and welcoming and kind of explain the place and its history if you are lucky enough to meet someone who can put you on base and give you a tour ... For photographers it is very worth taking long exposures. I personally had pure pleasure

Prestige of the history of Venice. Part of the biennale is there.

Interesting museum with permanent and temporary exhibitions. It is located in a huge area, although it is out of the main tourist routes, it is worth taking the time.

Essence from heritage & structure can make the place & spaces into living art. Really liked it.

It is a museum with enormous potential, somewhat unexpressed. The part with the boats is beautiful, the ticket price would come by itself. The main part is full of objects and models of boats, very interesting in themselves. The graphics and content of the information boards should be better treated.
More can be done.
There is no bar or drinks machine inside the museum. The shop is small and inside the ticket office

Visited on the occasion of the biennial, it housed part of the same. Environment of certain historical interest. To admire the front door and the structure as a whole.

Ancient complex of shipyards and workshops that currently houses mainly art exhibitions linked to the biennial and not only ... It is a place with immense spaces and an enchanting light, always suggestive to visit!

It was the largest Arsenal in the world and the term "Arsenale" itself derives from this ancient factory. Beware that Saturday is closed.

Worth going here, not getting off at St Marks square from the vaporetto.

Iconic site in Venezia. There are not many tourists or street vendors in that area which is an advantage. Few chairs are available to rest.

Nice walk in the neighborhood of the arsenal that can not be visited and in the old neighborhood of Castello that adjoins it. Quiet with regard to the place St-Marc and full of alleys, small bridges, small streets to discover.

Military historical and strategic point of the Venetian Republic. Shipyard of military ships and example of discipline of organized production work.

23h alone in the alleys, arrive on this dark place where only large imposing white lions stand out at the edge of the canal at the foot of the door ... sensations assured!

Not much to see, but at least you can say we visited

I was there at the boat show. Splendid boats on display. But the frame is no different. The context is very beautiful to visit and often hosts exhibitions worthy of being seen.
