I have been trying to contact their offices in regards to my license that expires in 3 days! I've sent emails with generic responses to them. I've been on hold with a wait time of 3,842 minutes (yes you read that right), only for them to answer then hang up. After a 2 hour hold, finally someone answered only to tell me that she can see that I had all of my documentation as well as my fees all paid, but doesn't know when they would approve my license before they expire. I sent in everything almost a month ago and NOTHING!!! How am I supposed to work???? What am I going to do??? I am extremely concerned about the children that won't be receiving their services because of this.

I had a difficult time obtaining my license in a timely manner and worked with a lot of unhelpful people who did not check or care about the status of my license. HOWEVER! There was one customer service rep who was AMAZING!!!! Her name was JORDAN! When I talked to her on the phone ( after waiting for 6 weeks for my license) and told her my dilemma, she was the most understanding and helpful! She personally monitored my account and did all she could to speed up the processing time! Thank you for all your help Jordan!

I Submitted All My Documents Sept9,2020. (Remind you the mail guy stated they would be received that weekend austin is literally 45 mins from me.) I ve been calling and calling to check on info on my license that I ve been trying to transfer for months. Waited on Louisiana for the longest to send reciprocy. Finally had received all items so I could send at once. I had a job that was being patient with me and they were going to accept me once the email that was received once approved. I called tldr to check on status provided information to them. The only excuse we haven t received anything yet. Provided money order number and everything else they needed. Here it is Oct19,2020. Still no updated details on my license. If I knew this would of happened I could of dropped my paperwork off with no hassle of waiting. Here I am still waiting and it s almost November. Please help! This is very frustrating and holding me back from employment!

So far it's two months I sent my documents for licensing and they approve that they have received it, they don't know when they can put it in the computer though!! Just hire some high school kids to do the data entry, this is ridiculous. Then there is another month or two to get in line for testing. I don't know how COVID could affect a data entry level job, all you need to do is to enter the information in the computer or do a brief background check which could all be done in comfort of your home office. Can't understand the two months wait period just to get the information in the system. It's unacceptable TDLR.

One star is generous but we cannot give a zero star rating. I have been communicating, or attempting to, with this office since December and have gotten one response which did not actually answer the questions regarding license renewal. I again followed up last month imploring someone to please respond to me about my license renewal for which I completed all the requirements and paperwork LAST YEAR. I have not heard back from anyone.

This office is costing people money and negatively impacting their livelihoods but not renewing licenses. It should not take 7 months and many emails and phone calls to get someone to do their job. This is absurd.

If you call, expect to be on hold for 30+ minutes and then be told something different each time. And it s always oh, someone else does that, I ll send them an email. And it never gets done. If you are trying to transfer a license to Texas, good luck. It takes MONTHS and countless phone calls and emails. I am blown away by how unorganized TDLR is.

On average the calls are ranging in time from 30 minutes to over and hour wait. This is not an appropriate way to conduct business. Completely disappointed and STILL waiting for a response!

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I turned in all of my paperwork and paid my fees for and SLP-A license in July. July 11th to be exact, I even took the online exams and took my background check. I am still waiting, nobody has gotten back to me or even sent me a letter about whether or not my application was rejected or not. I've called them and the people I have been talking to have been no help. It's December, this is ridiculous. If I can't get my license I wish I could at least have my money back.

Other than my application taking a bit longer than normal, once they got to me I was well taken care of. Not only have they had to adjust, but I'm sure they've been swamped with these uncertain times stressing everybody. They were very clear about what they needed from me and replied in a timely manner to all my questions and concerns. It seems like they've adapted well, and that's coming from someone who is reluctant to compliment anything associated with the gov!

Everything about them is unorganized. I have sent my info, overnighted it, with duplicates because I know how awful they are. After waiting and nothing I decided to reach out via email because we all know the hold is long. And they reply telling me I m missing documents. False. I sent them multiple times and no one ever knows anything. Always a different employee replying back. Their website is awful, will not recognize your password no matter how many tines you ve reset it. Best bet is to drive to Austin and see them face to face

As a massage therapist i found the online registration simple, easy, and convienient. I received my new card very promptly. I was, however, very disappointed in the quality of the new cards. I have sent my information over and and they are still saying they don t have it. My school has sent them my transcripts a whole month ago and they claim they don t got it. Every time they call they ask for my permit number just to show me my hours I know that already I m calling because I need to know about my transcripts that was sent. Then when you email them it s somebody different responding back asking something different. They are so unorganized man

2nd time this has happened to me with 2 different licenses. Pay for my renewal....get charged multiple times, call to check on status of license after a few months, and 1. nobody can find my payment 2. get transferred to different people 3. supposed to wait for a call back (that never comes) 4. this time around wait 5 month with no call back, and can't work because my license shows expired online. Worst experience trying to renew my license

Best customer service I've received there and she was helpful and gave me some kind of feedback and hope. Bless you!!! talked to her around 12ish on 6/27/19. Changed my ratings because of her.

I'm giving a 2 because, these stars are for Francisco he was the only one I talked to that had appropriate customer service skills. Which is sad because I have spoke to about 6 different people in 2 weeks all extremely rude except him.Let me just begin by saying they make it impossible for people to renew license whomever is in charge of TDLR AND the process needs a big wake up call. I have been suspended from work for going about 2 weeks almost, that is my means of income!!! I'm glad that yall can still have a job and not even realize some people need to get there license renewals pretty promplty in order to make a living. I have been given the run around for almost 2 weeks now and everyone keeps telling me something different get it together. Yall are playing with peoples means of income and ruining his/her chance to even work. All I need is for yall to update my status online so I can return to work I've given yall the documents and money. Someone told me yesterday they are just waiting for my check, which I have sent last week. So yall are waiting for a check still while I'm waiting on yall to update my status. So I'd looove an explanation on why it's taking so long for that money to go in, after I sent it in by hand last week!!!

Never heard of this organization but they really need to stop the predatory towing practices taking place in Texas. I moved to an apartment in North Dallas. Longhorn Towing came by every single night and had men with flashlights walking the property and towing for any reason. If your tire was a little over the white line they would tow the car. If the registration stickers or inspection stickers were out of date (even if the car was still drivable) they would tow the car. If the air pressure in the tire was a little low (but no where near flat) they would yank the car. They would tow several cars a night from the complex. And not just the complex but all the business parking lots as well from what I've heard. Its so bad that many people when visiting relatives or friends would talk while sitting in their cars. They would be so afraid to simply visit with someone. It's ridiculous in Dallas.

I followed the confusing website's instruction to transfer my massage license and double checked everything. After 3-4 weeks of not hearing about the progress of my license application I finally got a letter in the mail thinking it was my license! Nope it was a letter saying that I didn't give any of the information they needed! I then called to get help and the lady on the phone was very short with me and I was super kind to her. She kept interupting me even though she just asked me a question. Whenever I would use a word or phrase of what was needed she then would say "NO" but then rephrase what I just had said with a synonym. Are you kidding me!? I was nothing but nice to you and this is how you talk to me? Why didn't the website redirect me to help me transfer my license properly? Why didn't I get an email weeks ago that something wasn't right? I have interviews for jobs in a couple day and I don't have my license in the state in order to do my job and get paid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be calling tomorrow to place a formal complaint, and it is alarming a company would allow a criminal with low IQ and moral standards to judge a professional event with stakes as high as these.

He's been doing this kind of work now for 15 years and carries his license in 3 different states with no problems move to Texas and the people are very rude and incompetent.

I was reading the reviews as I am on hold and I'm going OH NO...hopefuly they don't take as long as the majority of the reviews state...3 min later I get a live person, Tammy, I explained my situation, she stayed on the line with me as I logged into my account, set up new password and make sure that all my licensing info was there. I applied for my Texas speech pathology license back in July and still have not received my license. Every time I call they tell me they have not received my transcripts even though I verified with my university that it has been sent to the correct address. I had my university send out another transcripts (I have had to pay twice unnecessarily) and they are still telling me we do not know if we received them or not and there is a delay in processing. It has been 4 months since I have applied for my license and I am having to turn down interviews due to not being licensed. This is absolutely ridiculous, unacceptable, and unprofessional.

I transferred my license from out of state and received my new one 2ish weeks later but they spelled my first name wrong. I called that day and the person I talked to said I would receive a corrected license in 10 business days. It's been over 1.5 months and I haven't received anything. Every single time I've called all the numbers available to call, they were all disconnected. Terrible customer service!!! I have a short window to work and they're making me lose money by not being able to work!!

I laid out my entire cut and dry false advertisement case to TDLR. They choose to not do anything because "they have no jurisdiction over internet auctions".

They issued the license for this individual and do nothing in regards to his CONTINUOUS illegal activities. I was told in their letter to pursue him in small claims court.

I have lived in Texas my entire life.

Thanks for having my back Texas.

Update: They have responded to every other review but mine. They haven't even asked for my case number. The state of Texas is authorizing and protecting a man doing illegal activities, just think about that.

Stressed stressed and more stressed.....we moved from NY to Texas, my husband who is an electrician sent in his paperwork for him to be approved to take the journeyman license in this state almost 2 months ago. Now I m stuck here in Texas with the kids by myself so he can go back to work in NY so we can have some income. This is really hard on us right now, I just hope everything comes through soon so he can work here and our family can be back together....TDLR PLEASE DO BETTER FOR THE PEOPLE.

I've called twice in the past month with questions. Long phone wait. Both times the person I spoke to was very nice, but had no knowledge to answer my questions. She suggested email. So if you have questions save yourself a lot of time: I recommend skipping a phone call and just email them.

The licensing process for Air Conditioning and refrigeration is a joke. Basically, your ability to get a license is in the hands of the employer you worked for the previous 4 years. A former employer who sees you as new competition and refuses to sign off on your experience verification form. It does not matter that I have 20 years of HVAC experience. I can prove 20 years of experience with W2's and check stubs. All of that does not matter. If your former employer refuses to verify that you worked there, you are out of luck for getting your license. A simple phone call from TDLR to the employer refusing to cooperate would solve the problem. But instead, TDLR shrugs their shoulders and says, "oh well". When I spoke to the service representative (because the people from the licensing department never call you back) I suggested the phone call scenario. Her reply was that they were understaffed and that would require them to make 100's of phone calls. So in that instant she pretty much confirmed that this is a flawed process and apparently their are 100's of individuals in the same boat as me. TDLR needs to have alternative options for running into this situation. I moved to Texas because from a distance it seemed to support entrepreneurs. I've been sand bagged from getting my license for almost 7 years.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I applied to have my SLP intern license 1 month ago and still have not been able to get it. I moved to Texas and cannot work yet because of this and the kids I offer the services for are the ones being affected. Calling in is a joke with wait times over 100 mins., as well as their email customer service on their website which takes weeks for them to respond if they decide to respond at all. This system is disorganized and absolutely a joke and every time I call (2 or 3 times weekly) everyone gives me roundabout answers with no solution.

I sent in my application to transfer my license over a month ago from Louisiana and after talking to someone, to make sure I understood all the steps, I began the process upload and/or mailed all information needed.
After that is where things went downhill!! After receiving my fingerprints,& uploading the receipt as instructed , I called and was told the only hold up was that they didn t get my fingerprint information even ( after I informed them that I received a confirmation that it was indeed sent in). After days of fixing that issue, I was told that it was the only thing they were waiting to clear. After my fingerprints cleared I was sent an email saying that they needed everything still, again this is after I had several confirmation emails and phone calls that all items were received and now all of a sudden they can t find anything. I am still currently in the back and forth process with them !
This is extremely frustrating, especially since the only reason I am now a resident in Texas is due to Hurricane Laura and not having anything (no home, employment, etc) to return to in Louisiana. I need my license so I can get back on my feet and start this new life but the process is absolutely discouraging and exhausting!

I have had the same experience as a lot of others; tried to transfer my license from another state to Texas and have called once a week in hopes I can get a job soon! The second week after my application had been submitted, I was told it could take 2-4 weeks to process. This week marks 3 weeks and still nothing in the mail. After calling again, waiting almost an hour and a half (only good part is they have a call back system) I was told it could take 4-6 weeks or more! What!?! Wish theyd get their timing right; had I known this I wouldve been applying for other jobs and not had hopes up that my license would arrive soon.

I unknowingly let me license expire. I paid my fees and submitted CEUs but somehow my CEUs were not accessible. I contacted TDLR and I could not be more happy with the service I received. I can t recall the woman that helped me over the phone but she got in contact with Nicole Petersen. Nicole Petersen was so professional and efficient! I am beyond grateful for the speedy work she has done for me on behalf for tdlr. Thank you Nicole and tdlr staff!

I was illegally towed. The tow company was given a written warning while I'm out of money! I was told I had 2 weeks 2 contact the courthouse or justice 4 a refund, on the 14th day, smh! I Was towed in November. Took them until March 2 make a ruling decision.

It is my first time renewing with tdlr. I did the renewal application on line in December and paid the $75 fee. I also went for fingerprints that were required for my renewal I paid $39. I recently received a notice saying I needed to renew my LMT license so I was confused because I had already done the application, fingerprints and paid all fees. I called about 2 weeks ago I was informed they needed a copy of my receipt. That same day I send an email with an attached copy. I haven't gotten a reply and now I am worried because my license expires the end of this month (February). I tried calling today the wait time was 196 minutes I waited for over an hour and the call hung up. I will try tomorrow again hope to hear good news soon.

TDLR is having serious problems with getting massage licenses to established LMTs in a punctual and efficient manner. Something is going on over there and they are several months behind. Massage therapists may have to organize and demand that TDLR do better. I have personally been waiting 2 months for my license to be renewed and have heard nothing from them. How do we work with expired licenses? They need to make a public announcement addressing this issue. We have all paid money and are not receiving the services that we paid for. Are we even able to work? What is going on?

i wish i could give these guys negative stars. they are HORRIBLE. so many times they have F8cked me and others over! so i applied to renew my license in may 2020. it was approved that it was renewed but it was never mailed to me. i tried to get in touch with them for MONTHS and they NEVER got back to me. i was finally able to get in touch with them 2 weeks ago. they said it isnt their fault that it never arrived and that i should have asked for it to be resent out within 60 days and since its past the 60 day mark i now have to pay MORE money when im not at fault. HOW?!?! we cant even get in contact with them without waiting for HOURS on the phone or wait for an email response that NEVER comes.

and yet ANOTHER thing, my friend applied for her massage license 3 weeks ago. sent all of her required stuff off to them. after 3 weeks she sent off an email to ask about her license and they told her "your transcripts must be sent from your school, not you." they NEVER contacted her to let her know this. she had to ask why her license was taking so long. YOU GUYS SUCK!! IDK HOW YOU CAN BE THIS BAD.

I sent in my application for reciprocity for my cosmetology license on August 10 and have still yet to receive anything. I ve called them multiple times and am told that they have record of my payment but that my application hasent been processed yet. I just moved here and am struggling to find a job without my license and I sent in my application 2 months ago. I understand there is a delay with covid but a 2 month wait period is honestly unacceptable.

I will drive to Austin myself to get my license if it s going to take you 2+ months! Get it together. We pay y all enough money to hire more people and or provide better training.

I would move states just to avoid dealing with tdlr, if only I would have known.I sent out a mail paid next day delivery and it s been 2 months and they still have a back order of mail. That s 2 months of work for me, I need my license transferred so I can get a job. The waiting time on the phone is 30 plus minutes even though they say 15 or 10,and if u ask to be called back by the operating system, they never call back .

It has been over a month and my license it still not active. I sent in my fingerprint receipt almost 3 weeks ago and have called multiple times and they told me to just wait on DPS. Took them two weeks to tell me my fingerprint receipt was invalid and I had to send it again when they could ve told me it was invalid as soon as they got it the first time. I sent in the second receipt and they told me they were waiting on DPS again. I called DPS today and DPS said they already sent my background check results to TDLR a over week ago electronically and there s no reason they shouldn t have it. Today I tried calling TDLR again and they told me they were still waiting on my background check and when I told them I contacted DPS they finally checked and said actually there s two background checks that they need and they haven t received the second one which is completed by TDLR themselves. They have never told me this information before and kept on saying it s because DPS is slow. This process has been extremely frustrating and the information they tell me keeps on changing. I ve had to delay my start date for over a week and I m unable to give my employer a timeline for my start date which is frustrating for both sides since they need help with therapy ASAP.

Still waiting for the Upgrade of my licence (since June). Every time I call, the answer is that I have to wait. I sent a money order in June and they lost it, so I had to send another one and at this point they says that they do not receive it, so my upgrade is not in process yet. Also, I asked to talk with a manager, they asked my information to call me back and that never happened!!! It is so frustrating. I need to start in a new job as soon is possible and I am just waiting for this.

No one answers the phone or responds to my email and it s been over 30 days since I had purchased my operator license ! Phone line is always busy . So unprofessional and upsetting I have to work and can t !!

I visited the office in July 2019, I paid the $91.00 money order, I completed all the forms online, took the jurisdiction exam, and emailed them the result.
I transferred all my file from Michigan and I was told my package was completed in November 2019.
I have been emailing and calling the office, however, they have now reply or call me back. I don t mind to pay another money order, but I need some information about was going on. I need an approval to take the LMSW exam in Texas. I am currently looking for a job and is difficult to get hire without a license.
I am planning to drive to Austin next week on October 16, 2020 to find out what s going on. May I talk to someone in person without an appointment?

Im giving 3 stars cuz the online group was amazing. They did help me get my info fixed any my license renewed with no problems. I was excited that it was less $ than i expected but my renewal date is no longer my bday but im ok w/ tht! However the new cards are sooooo ugly. I like the photo idea but it looks like a hair dressers license now and nothing bad about tht but they make theirs small cuz they have small spaces. This ones so ugly Ive put it in a frame w/ my other license just so people can see its not fake. It just looks too easy for people to make fake ones. Plz change them back to the older style. And plz plz start hiring folks for the home office. Its either a low staff issue or bad staff but either way more people there couldnt hurt!!

Had a simple phone call with a simple question. After 40+ minutes on hold, the seemingly uneducated man who answered couldn't stop talking over me with useless information, before hanging up on me. It doesn't sound like they have more than one person answering the phones there, and they picked the wrong guy to do it.

This has been the worst experience.
I sent in my application for my cosmetology license in the beginning of August. I was told it wold take 10 weeks. I call after 10 weeks and I m told they do not have it in the system even though it was delivered and the tracking info confirmed it. They told me they would get back to me and email me when they have more information. I never heard back. I called another two times after that in a span of 2 weeks and I was told again they couldn t find it. Then they told me they found it and it has been received and they were busy processing it and the results would be sent in the mail by the next week.

I waited 3 weeks and have not received any mail. I call again only to get a rude lady who ignored everything I was saying and couldn t understand what I was asking her. She refused to let me speak to someone else and was no help at all. Then I call again only to be told that yet again my information cannot be found and they will be in contact with me when they find it.
I m starting to think that nothing will ever actually come of this and I ve just waiting my time with this place.

It s going on 2 months that TDLR has received my application for a salon s license. Customer service is a joke!!! After waiting 30 plus minutes to speak with someone, a customer service rep actually told me that 2 months are not long enough and give it more time. Well, without my license I NOR MY FAMILY CAN NOT EAT, PAY BILLS, OR BASICALLY LIVE WITHOUT MY INCOME especially during a time like this. We as the stylist/owners vow to operate within the rules/regulations, but the fact that TDLR does not care about processing paperwork is unacceptable!!! Covid 19 is real and my profession is NOT essential. We have no idea when there might be another shut down so working while we re able to is vital!!!!

After sending an email with no response I called, and then decided to save my spot, no one ever called me back until a day after. I returned that call (as I was away from the phone) only to have to wait again on hold for whatever increasing time the thing comes up with... and when I finally did get a representative on the line, I was not expecting an adult with smart remarks, much less with impatience, considering I've been hung up on trying to contact them previously. I can only hope this improves in the future....

Terrible service, horrible website that doesn't allow me to renew my license so I had to pay late fee.

Then when I took and pass my exam for a license they still won't send it. I've been calling every week speaking about the same subject, I've turn everything in and they are still giving me the run around. I still haven't receive my license 3 months after I've pass the exam. I hope they get it together. They told me they haven't receive the information on the email but when I call they said they got it. It has been like this for months.

I just moved here from a different state and was told I wasn't eligible for reciprocity so I had to go through the whole application process. It has been a pain and covid19 hasn't helped. I turned in all my info back in June and was told I wasn't in the system even tho my money order is in the system. I've been told many times I'm not in the system every time I call but my money order is. It doesn't take this long to put information into a system. I'm outraged at the lack of customer service and appalled at the complete and utter disorganization. I need my license to work but they don't care. They only care about the money. I wish I could give them no stars. I'm tired of the merry-go-round with my license.

Update: They call me and everything was fine. I got the approval today.

Passed my HVAC test on Feb 25, 2020- was told within 5 working days i will receive my license- as of today still waiting for my license! In the meantime the business i have built all the contacts i have made are making plans to use someone else because i can not prove i have my license and i cant start any work until i have my License! I am planning on driving to Austin to speak to someone directly! Beyond frustrated and desperate for help before i totally go under before i can get started!
