Horrible experience, I got booted by them. They were so concerned about booting people that when I tried to pay the drop fee they guy was eyeing another vehicle and straight up booted them during my transaction. If that wasn't enough the credit card machine wasn't on site for 40 minutes. Calling the line is hell, I filed a complaint and my legal assistant never answers her phone. I've been trying to contact her for a month.
I have been having problems with an application for 3 months and everyone gave me roundabout answers with no solution. It wasn't until I talked to a very nice employee, Veronica, who helped me to solve my problem. Veronica is the most helpful employee I have interacted with at TDLR and I appreciate her!
They don t respond. It s extremely rude! & detrimental to ur career
I have been a massage therapist for 15 years. I have been in trying to finalize my renewal since December. I can't get anyone to help me. And it keeps saying expired. Meanwhile, i have done everything asked and it should have been approved months ago. Each time there is a new request that I complete and each time I hear nothing and still says expired. It's getting beyond ridiculous and I wait on hold for 30 minutes at a time!
My colleagues and I were initially unable to renew our licenses online with TDLR. I had to make some calls, and then they did fix and address my issue with their online portal. I am SO pleased to have been able to renew my license and alert the Deputy Director of all the problems that others are experiencing with their license renewals. Hopefully this will take care of the issue for all of us!
I tried calling over the phone but I always end up with a busy signal. Impossible to reach by phone. I wish I can give 0 stars.
How is it that when I called, I was placed on a 54 minute hold time and in 45 minutes it s worked it s way up 69 minutes? I called the state I was transferring my license from they sent all the required paperwork. I was told 1-2 weeks to process my application and no one can tell me the status of my application, I can t seem to get anywhere by calling about it because I can t get ahold of anyone.
Can I please give zero stars!!!! You can never reach anyone at this office:( and if you do they are complete idiots and have ZERO info!!!!
They are very slow to be state workers I have been trying to get my license for over a year that s sad and still today I resent my application and fee and they haven t got it processed yet it been again a month can someone point me in the direction to get this handled.
Over 1000 licensed parts recyclers have gone out of business in the last 10 years this great state of Texas wants to shake down license business rather then go after the poachers without license on craigslist, parting cars out Texas you should be ashamed

I just called in for some help on transferring my license and there was a real long wait time but i was happy to hear I could just hold my place in line and have them call me back so I wasn t sitting on the phone waiting.
The man that called me back was soooo helpful! Honestly some of the best customer service I ve had on a phone. He answered my questions very thoroughly to be sure I could take the correct steps and even welcomed and congratulated me.
We all know phone calls asking for help can usually be so draining And people make us feel like a burden but this person didn t only help me, I feel his help and attitude went above and beyond.
I recently moved to Neveda and I've been waiting for 6 weeks now letter of certification to be sent. Neveda had everything together in one week there's waiting on Texas. I'm calling constantly. They received my application Sept 9. My job has been extremely patient with me which I'm super lucky but you can't play people's lively hood like this. They're excuse is covid but I read so many reviews before covid that they took just as long. People need to work. My job has been waiting on me for almost 2 months! This is unacceptable.
As you could see down here 4 days ago I did the review they responded the same day and I did what it was requested... And you know what????!!!! They haven't done anything at all!! The ones that are being affected are the kids who need my services and they don't even care. WORST "service" ever!!

Alejandra, I'm sorry you've had troubles getting through. Please send an email to social@tdlr.texas.gov with your name and telephone number where you can be reached during the day so we can sort out where your license is.
They are horrible at handling licensing and almost every person I spoke to was rude! I'm from California and Have my cosmetology license here and they won't accept my license just because i did the apprenticeship program, they won't ever accept any hours! I did 3200 hours and they denied me. I understand it's Texas law but they should at least be able to take some hours. Now I can't ever work in Texas and do what I love
The lack of organization and efficiency makes me sick. I have been waiting FIFTY DAYS for them to process my massage license. Their excuse was a backlog from the holidays, which would make sense if I hadn t turned in the application well before thanksgiving. Pathetic. Keeping people out of work intentionally and carelessly. Shame on you all.
Thought i should update my review: The desk employee had entered my email address incorrectly and someone else was receiving my sensitive information by email. I also requested that they double check the information multiple times during my wait, and they could not be bothered. This was the cause of my going unlicensed for over 3 months.
The people who work there are badly educated, they answer the questions in a bad way as if one were asking for money, bad staff, they give wrong information.

Calling in is a joke with wait times over 100 mins., as well as their email customer service on their website which takes weeks for them to respond if they decide to respond at all. I have been a massage therapist licensed in Utah for 5 years so to get my license here it was fill out some paper work and have proof of my old transcripts/test scores and pay a fee but they don't even make that clear because I was told multiple/different instructions on what I actually needed to send in. This system is disorganized and absolutely a joke.
Absolutely one of the worst experiences in obtaining a license. I have been going back and fourth for months in order to get my license through tdlr speech pathology and audiology. Like many other reviews my university has verified proof of my transcripts arriving but I have not made any progress in my license. There is absolutely nobody that you can speak to in order to get a straightforward answer. I appreciate the effort their customer service representatives put in but there is only so much you can do (many of which just repeat what is written on the screen)--no actual idea of anything. Also I cannot be transferred to anyone who might be able to answer your concerns appropriately. A job opportunity has been taken away due to me not being licensed in the state of Texas (the process taking so long).

They are the predatory towing company's dream. They may handle licensing ok, but don't count on them to regulate anything. Takes them YEARS to process a simple complaint against a negligent company, which can tell lies up the bazoo and TDLR will take their word for it, no matter how much evidence the victim provides.
One word--nightmare. I have two employees that have done everything that they are required to do to get licensed and TDLR continues to neglect their applications. Four months (and counting) and zero progress. This agency needs an overhaul as it does not serve the business community in a manner that is beneficial to businesses or the public.
I am writing this review on behalf of the experiences encountered with TDLR and their complete failure as an agency. A failure that has and continues to impact students and families across our state. The licensing agency has completely failed two SLP interns that I am currently mentoring along with the students on their caseloads because of it's inability to process paperwork in an acceptable time frame. The interns submitted paperwork to get their license June 18th and August 6th, respectively. Neither has received their intern license and meanwhile students are not getting the mandated and necessary services they require. It is unacceptable that because of TDLR's inability to get things done in an fastidious manner, children in public schools are suffering. Even more devastating is the fact that these elementary school students have just come off months of very limited services as a result of COVID-19. If the agency really valued students and understood the disabilities they faced, this would be a top priority. But because we are licensed by an agency that doesn't value the people they are tasked to serve, people suffer. That is a tragedy and I will personally be advocating for change on this front.
Are you serious we have some non English speaking person on the phone working for the state of Texas Department of Regulation TDLR they can't understand a damn thing I ask. just disband the whole goddamn f****** organization
I"m an ME. They're not there to help me, they are a legal arm of a legislative branch with a collection ability and lawyers running every
aspect of management. I imagined when they were created they would
be there to protect the interests of my trade, and one day I awoke from that dream.
Their website is a JOKE!! Makes it completely impossible to renew online!! If you contact them no one gets back with you! I wish my license was still under DHS because TDLR is completely unorganized and makes it a huge runaround game to try and get your license. FIX YOUR WEBSITE TO BECOME USER FRIENDLY!! IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO DO!
I am not a kind of person who writes reviews out of unhappyness. I am Immigrant from a third world country. Government services are 200% better in the third world countries the TDLR. they never pick up the call or return call there is no Tech support. and ven if you get hold of them they dont even know about their services and the employes look confused. regrate to have this kind of services in United states.
I have been having the worst experience with TDLR! I have been waiting for months to hear back about receiving my license. I have sent two applications and two applications fees because i was told that the first payment got lost in the mail! I call every week and still NOTHING! My next step is to get my lawyer and law enforcement involved because at this point they are STEALING money and it wont be tolerated ! My advice, try to retrieve your license elsewhere! They will be hearing from laws!!!!!
