I've made a couple purchases here. I like new old stuff and if you do too then they got you covered. Some items I like tend to be on back order. But they get it to you. They are equal too or less than most competitors. Midway USA is often VERY expensive but tend to have things at the ready. I over paid on my brass 1863 Remi pocket there by about $100. So Taylor's is very reasonable on whole firearms. They are not a manufacturer so they dont have alot of control over price. I had a whole sale account at EMF so I have a good idea what they pay so they are actually extremely reasonable. As for the employees. CRAZY NICE. Wish they had a store here in Texas.

I had been wanting a Winchester 73 for a while, so I finally decided to make the trip up to Taylor's and see what they had. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, showed me what the options were and I ended up walking away with a great rifle. Couldn't be happier with them.

Excellent service, I had to wait for a while for my firearm to come in from Italy, but it was worth the wait! Also knowing that Taylor's & Co. inspects each firearm individualy was a plus, and gave me peace of mind. The fit & finish on my 1875 Remington Outlaw is above and beyond my expectations. I definitely will be ordering more firearms from them for my collection. Definitely an A+ in my book.

My experience was horrible. I was looking for an 1892 Winchester and saw that Taylor's had a very accurate reproduction. I checked the website to make sure the model I wanted was in stock and also called the store on the telephone and confirmed with an employee that there would be no issues in purchasing a rifle for an out-of-state customer.

It was almost a 6 hour drive one way to get there. When I arrived, the saleswoman, while nice, had no knowledge of firearms whatsoever. She's not know the model I requested and had to consult a catalog for every question. There were several other employees there but they are all middle-aged women that seemed to work administrative positions and I did not find a single employee who could answer simple product related questions such as what calibers does this rifle come in?

They did not have the rifle I came to buy, I told her about the website and she stated that they do not keep it up to date so be forewarned if you see something you like advertised as being available.

Not wanting to leave empty-handed since I came so far, I found a different model rifle that seemed good enough. I went to pay and they said that my Real ID driver's license was not good enough and I had to provide a second form of identification. I work for Homeland Security and provided my PIV card but they said that was not sufficient. The woman asked if I had a passport with me. I do have a passport but did not bring it since that has never been a requirement to purchase a gun any time in my life. They stated they needed two separate forms of ID with my current address on it. I told them that a u.s. passport does not have home address on it. The woman could not explain why a passport would be sufficient but my homeland security badge was not. I told them that I specifically called before I came up and asked if anything special was needed to purchase a rifle and was told all I needed was a driver's license. All of the women there denied being the one I spoke to. I showed my call log to prove I wasn't lying.

Long story short, I wasted an entire day and a tank of gas to walk away empty-handed. I'm not blaming them for the ridiculous ID requirement, I'm sure that's just the Democrats being in control of Virginia but the customer service was terrible. As I said before, no one there had any knowledge of firearms and they gave me the wrong information that I specifically asked ahead of time to try and avoid a situation like this. And again, their website falsely advertises firearms in stock that do not exist.

Most of what they have are Uberti and Chiappa reproductions, these can be found elsewhere and I highly suggest that's where you look.

* after I wrote the initial review, the store responded blaming the issue on 2020 Shot Show. For the record, my visit was on January 28th, the week after shot show took place.

Even small purchases you are treated well. The store was fairly well packed as I went to get some piece parts to repair an old black powder revolver and the guy behind the counter knew what I wanted, stopped what he was doing and went right to what I needed. Great store.

Spoke to Brad about a double barrel coach gun with external hammers. Placed order for the CZ hammer coach, 20" barrels, cylinder bore. Tammy called when the gun came in, finalized purchase next day, picked it up from my local dealer on labor day. It was all I wanted and more. The color case finish is nice, wood to metal fit is great. Good hard kicking shotgun .I like this gun, and the service from Taylor's & Co. was excellent. I plan on purchasing a Bond Arms Snake Slayer, and this company will be my pick for service and no hassle transfers to my local dealer. Thanks again to everyone for the fine service. No complaints here.

I ordered a barrel for my wife for Christmas from ...

I ordered a barrel for my wife for Christmas from their website, 2 weeks before Christmas. Called the week before Christmas only to find out that their website shows in stock, but it wasn't. Then get a voicemail from Theresa saying it was in and would ship the next day. I then call the following Monday, when it should have been there if it had shipped when she said. Only to talk to Theresa and be told it didn't ship, and that it would ship on Thursday or Friday, after Christmas, and they would be willing to ship it for free. Then she tells me that it would be a couple of weeks, on a minute later. So she lied to me severs times. I now have to go Christmas shopping for my wife on Christmas Eve, and look like a jacka$$. All because Taylor & Company lies, and won't let you know If there is an issue. The only contact from them during this was the confirmation email, and the voicemail that I was lied to in. She had no remorse for the situation, only wanted to blame the manufacturer, even though a little communication from the beginning would have gone a long way. This is a poor excuse of customer service and if this is normal a poor excuse of a company as well.

If you value your time, and expect a company not to lie to you, deal with another company for ALL of your firearms needs.

I mail ordered many times from Taylor's living in California but, now that I moved to within a shirt drive I got the chance to visit the showroom.
The people there are exceptional as well as the gunsmith service, it's like you are a friend when you walk in.

One of the best companies to ever deal with. I bought a 5.5" pietta 1858 remington from cabelas and took the taylors conversion cylinder out of my engraved 58 remington pietta and put it in my new 5.5 and the cylinder would back spin when you cock it... so i get my the jeep and drive down to your shop and Tom, the gunsmith there, informs me the "new" cylinder i purchased a few months ago was actually made at least 8 years ago and has thinner bolt notches then the newer pietta bolt is. plus he shows me that the back plate on my "new" cylinder is cast which also hasnt been done in years. he asked me if i bought that cylinder in the store and i told him i thought i did but wasnt sure, well now that i have thought about it i'm pretty sure i bought it somewhere else, online maybe (i have been looking but cant for the life of me find where i bought it) but anyway it was of no consequence!so he takes my gun in the back, comes out about 20 minutes later with a brand new cylinder in it and hands me the gun and tells me to have a nice day! thats it, no charge! I cant think of a better place to do business with and every time i ride down its a great experience! i have a cabelas gun and a taylors cylinder that likely was not bought there and you all still took care of me free of charge! you have a customer for life now! i will never buy my new guns from anywhere else but taylors! to hell with cabelas sales, ill happily spend more to get the best service! thank you so very much!!!

Like going into a gun shop in the 1800s. High end reproductions of most of the very best firearms of the period. The fit and finish of my walnut stocked repo 1892 is as good as my original, and I'm not afraid to take this one out and use it. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, well worth a visit.
